I know nothing about Northern soul, never heard of it till I started watching it on you tube about a year ago but I just love the music and the dance moves everyone seems to be so chilled and happy doin their own thing it's class.
My grannie loves bingo bowls n Northern soul 🤗 she's dodgy on her feet but manages to dance with her walkin stick to Northern soul with a pinch of salt 😊
Omg brings so many memories back in the day when I was a younger man😁 Used to go to Cleethorpes to a campsite called beachome and dance the night away back in the day Fantastic music and dance. This music will never die🤩🥇😁👍
Yeh so right, but our government intend to end this for good make no mistake about that as we move ever closer to a communist state all the things we so enjoyed and took for granted is being attacked and eroded by the very people we intrusted to uphold our freedoms. I kid you not if nothing is done to oppose these basterds you will look at this clip in a few years with tears and frustration as to how we stood by and did NOTHING!
I'm 67 and grew up in the UK, moved to USA when I was 25. My wife (who's from Mexico) asked my "Where did you learn those weird dance moves?" I just had to show her this video. Wife and daughter (who's 29), just started rolling on the floor laughing... Anyway, now she understands completely!!. Great music and those were the good old days :)
These people of all ages are having fun , we were made to move ,to hook into rythum ,my late wife would in her wheel chair ,also just like me at 70 were once young;grew up in the60:s with the advent of discos ,clubs Levi’s , tennis shoes ,parkas ,lambrettas ,mirrors ,fox tail ,aerials ,even in 65/6/7we would travel miles, weekends in London fascinated by the scene down there ,clubs ,clothing ect ,so even we might look a bit doddery on our pins ,put some decent Motown ,stax ect and oh boy move over there.!
Nice summary Jeff. Yeah I had one of those Lambretta’s myself (TV175). Painted it purple and added mirrors, replaced exhaust pipe with something chrome plated…. Lots of fun!
Yep born in 1963 and my cousin was WELL INTO SOUL MUSIC and it caught on with me too a great era and my grandma was from WIGAN the prmier dance hall the WIGAN CASINO i think ??????????????????
The woman at the beginning in her high heel shoes is amazing. I keep rewinding to get the moves just like hers. It’s exhausting lol, but absolutely love Northern soul ✊KTF 🥰
Soul music wasn't just confined to Northern Soul and that is all you are showing. I LOVE soul music but I did not dance to it like that. I am 69 years old and soul music was a massive part of my life!
The Northern Soul boys would travel to our clubs in London, the black boys would danced rhythmically to soul, funk and boogie, the Northern Soul boys we would have to give them plenty of room space
Said it before and I'll say it again, I love this dancing, love the fact that there's lot's of , ( what do you English people call them) old git's , like me..but they move brilliantly, gorgeous older ladies too.
One Of The Tymes best songs! I often wondered if this song was an effort on The Tymes part to keep up with the changing musical trends of 1964. It's of their best. It's too bad it wasn't a hit that year.
It strikes me that there are elements of the Northern Soul clothing that reminds me of the original Mod style. Ok not those flared trousers but the jackets similar to a Harrington and the T shirts.
Again love it as always, would still love to learn but at 56(a young 56 by the way) I think I've missed the boat, but listen just love to watch the videos, just sorry it wasn't as big in Dublin(in my time) as it was and still is in the UK, fair play guy's and galls, brilliant.
Miss Northern Soul Dancing so much but it’s all so far away to travel to for one night. So great watching & hearing these videos. Really appreciate uploads. KTF
Just wonderful - great music, great dancing - the 70’s were just the best - nothing like it now sadly.
Carefree era. Best of times
All ages, all shapes and sizes, nobody trying to look cool, just joy in the music and the moves. Take me there...
Beautifully put, and absolutely right. To all the cats who enjoy this music: keep the faith. x
Love it.i not a true northern souler , but the dancing, music, vibe is addictive.Keeping the faith for different generations ❤️
Looking cool without even trying.
Spot on
Watcha on about it was all about looking cool back in the day
70 years of age, from USA, never heard of this type of dance.

As a man of 70 i saw the development of various types of music throughout the 60s and 70s and onwards but you cant beat soul and northern soul music
Barrow in furness was on the edge of the growth😂🥰
Yes the lady at the beginning, good moves good figure. Took me back. Thanks.
Uplifting seeing regular people having fun dancing to these great songs.

Very nicely said, Jeff. Such happy times so long ago, yet the time has passed by in the click of a finger.
Northern Soul dancers seem to be much slimmer too. I'm not a dancer but I really enjoy watching and listening to these videos
The love of fantastic music 🎶 and the love to get up and dance.
My Mum used to glide around the kitchen every Sunday cooking the roast dinner,it was just fantastic to watch her ❤
My mum still does this, talc on floor
I've said this before, but isn't brilliant to see young people getting up to the sounds that informed my childhood in 1972? Great music never dies.
Yep born in 1963 and my cousin was WELL INTO SOUL MUSIC and it caught on with me too a great era and my grandma was from WIGAN the prmier dance hall the WIGAN CASINO i think ??????????????????
Well said Mick... couldn't agree more!
As a MOD late 70s 80s I have to say I had the greatest times at the all nighters God bless Northern Soul 😎
The woman at the beginning in her high heel shoes is amazing. I keep rewinding to get the moves just like hers. It’s exhausting lol, but absolutely love Northern soul ✊KTF 🥰

This is the first time I'm hearing this. I'm approaching 63 and I'm quite sure it was released in the '60s. How could I have missed it? Brilliant!

Get down with the soul music! Like comedy, music can fly us above our earthly problems! God bless the people who like music and comedy!
Takes me back to underage drinking at the Slipper in West BrIdgford. Takes 40 years to realise how good we had it as kids.
This video put a smile on my face and touched my heart. Absolutely beautiful.
