- Jordan Frisbee got Emeline Rochefeuille at the famous Invitational/Champions Jack&Jill at the sunday of Budafest. The game - introduced by Emcee TJ Bednash - this year was to pick a theme and get three songs. After every song they could choose if you wanna keep or switch the song. But only 2 times or you have to take the third song. Jordan and Emeline took the second song after a loud recommondation of the
audience. And the song was the summer-hit of 1996 Macarena by Los del Rio.
Jordan and Emeline did an amazing job with this song!

@@alexmay2825 I'm pretty sure the premise of this format is that they get assigned partners and music on the spot and then improvise to it. Of course most of them will have danced together before at some point, but I think these specific performances are actually improvised.
Though I have absolutely no clue how they always manage to make it look so perfectly&wonderfully choreographed either :D

Her musicality is next level. He did really well too, but she took the floor with her expression of the song.
I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to the jargon, what is musicality? Is that the matching of movement to the music?
@@spiceyhood93 musicality in dance is basically being able to feel the rhythm and energy of the music. Effectively, being able to dance in a way that represents the music she’s dancing to.
Like, have you ever seen a person dancing to a song and then they hit a move that’s *exactly* on beat, and you just go ‘oh that’s literally the noise I just heard made into a dance move’. It’s being able to understand how the song flows and how to attach that to the movements and how to display the music in the movements of your body. Not the most scientific explanation, I apologise.
If you want to see a true embodiment of ‘musicality’, look up ‘dance like you’re the snake that tempted eve’ on RUclips. Not only is it just a fantastic performance, but I think it manages to capture the rhythm of the song while the dancer tells her own narrative through her movements. She is truly in sync with the music in that performance.
Don't underestimate Jordan Frisbee either, he is literally the best there is. He's doing an exceptional job of listening and staying out of the spotlight when necessary.
i'd offer in addition that its filling the "gaps" with that extra interpretation... there's a ton of space in between each step, especially with a slower style, for those hits to be inserted. a good dance partner will leave/create space with/for that, as well as "listen" to their partner when they do a [musicality thing] and incorporate that into the dance

Kudos to the girl who showed just excellent musicality and improvisational skills... and kudos to the guy who not only was an excellent lead, also gave her space to show off her skills ❤️🔥
That's the point of pairs dancing. The man is the frame the woman is the picture. They need each other to perform a good dance.
My favorite part of this video is watching their hands that are touching. They are communicating so much as to what they are going to do and what they want the other to do. It's like remote control. They are so talented together.
West Coast dancers are just bonkers. There's a ludicrous amount of communication that you can do with just a single hand connection, but Westies often take it a step further - they blur the lines between lead/follow. Both partners just fluidly improvise and throw stuff in, reacting to each other while somehow never fighting over anything. You'll see a bit of this with very good Lindy Hoppers or even in Latin dances, but the Westies just kick everything up a notch.

This girl and her interpretation is off the charts, so fluid, mesmerising and beautiful to watch and of course he was great too, just a super pairing. Enjoyed it a lot thanks.

No wonder it reached to 25 million views. The dance is very pleasing to us viewers. Connection and right timing is evident in this particular Macarena dance. Emeline is such a wonderful, graceful and has unique technique in dancing even if she is paired here with Jordan who is wild on stage but here, they were perfect. I think no pair from WCS team had reached to this 25m views. So wonderful. Great job to both of you Emeline and Jordan.
