- The worst warcrime you can commit in Rimworld is...apparently...eating without a table! And with the help of a trusty mod that spells DEATH for anyone that does, we'll be putting that thought to the extreme test.

I realise why they randomly die in the fields and it’s not from packaged survival meals. They see a dead Floppa in the field, decide to take a quick bite, die, and then attract new Floppas to devour their fresh corpse
And thus the serpent consumes its own tail.
The fact that every one of them has a debuff for their friend Floppa but *only one* implies the fact there was a singular Floppa above the rest that they all revered.
The room impressiveness went doen cuz it was -80 and not 80 and impressiveness rises when you clean a room

As long as colonists can eat directly from their inventory, your colony is practically GUARANTEED to wipe itself out. How did you not know?!?

It's easy to have a couple tables and stools scattered around the map, git gud.

Also I don't think it happens as often if they're not being drafted around a lot and have enough breaks in their schedule to get lunch normally.
you need a table every 60 blocks to kinda guarantee that they eat at one
The next update better add "Eating without table" as an option in Ideology and have its only option as "Abhorrent"
Have opposing ideologies: One where eating without a table is a massive taboo and another where eating without a table is an awesome sign of how rugged and self-sufficient you are.
These two ideologies each hate each other with a passion.
I would suggest:
1. Start with no packaged survival meals, instead have lots of rice or something along with components and steel.
2. Forbid all food except nutrient paste.
3. Build a nutrient paste dispenser, a source of power like wood fired generator, and lots of tables and chairs.
4. The colonists can now only eat nutrient paste which can only come from the dispenser next to their tables.
colonists can still take nutrient paste into their inventories like they do with other meals
@@dunkirx8602 you might be able to forbid carrying food to deal with that, tho I'm not sure if that requires a mod or not

@@dunkirx8602 They only take food into their inventories if it's already made / available. Iirc they will not go to the dispenser to grab some for later.
Create a zone that prevents your pawns travelling more than 30 tiles from a table. Assign all pawns to the zone. Expand the zone as you add more tables. Also, there is a mod that let's you see the table radius. Also, make sure you have enough chairs, or the overflow dies...
There should be a parasite mod one day. Imagine a random colonist transforming into a giant bug or some kind of alien figure, slowly consuming your colony from the inside.

There was a xenomorph mod which I'm pretty sure did that.
Alpha Animals has a bug that gives a deadly infection that kills them and makes their corpse into another. The bug is not big though
Alpha animals has a wanderer event that looks like a normal colonist, them turns into a mime and tries to kill people! It's impossible to tell if it's a normal person or not
@@SkarobSkarob it's impossible if you don't look at the hunger rate of your pawn. Unless that's been changed it's a giveaway
It'd be awesome if there was some way to infiltrate enemy colonies and have a double agent in them or something
Dude, my colonists have a PURE GOLD dining room with MASTERWORK JADE STATUES surrounding the table, RIGHT NEXT TO THE FRIDGE! and still seem to prefer to eat inside the fridge.

There's a mod that lets you set the radius for how far the table will draw pawns to it. It's manageable via a slider on each table's info and works perfectly.
You should in stall this mod then its simply efficiënt, the new fresh food manifest it self in your freezer

But the explosion only targets tables.

The reason trade caravans die is because the land is cursed, it's not that eating without a table will kill you everywhere. It's only land that you, a rimworld player set eyes upon. To these people they just enter your sight and try to have a meal and drop dead to which their companions have no clue as to what happened.
"Someone bit him in the brain?!" is a beautiful laughter-inducing statement, that made watching the entire video worth it.
I think the only way of surviving this mod is to have a colony full of androids.
That did solve most of my problems.

This makes it impossible to treat serious injuries, since the colonist won’t be able to get to a table they’ll either starve or die when a doctor tries to feed them

IIRC there's some way to keep colonists from taking meals into their inventory. It probably requires a mod, one I think I have but forgot to set up this particular aspect. It's probably funnier this way, though. I think they won't hoard nutrient paste, since it isn't normally stored anywhere for them to pick up, and they won't carry things that aren't "meals," either, with the likely exception of pemmican. I doubt they'd carry around kibble, even though it's in that same category of "(non-raw) food item which is not a meal."
I think the trick to surviving is restricting them to food that they won't put in their pockets like raw food and nutrient paste

my favorite character was Floppa but sadly he died in the Great War Of 5500.
Best part is, if you somehow get an injury that doesn't kill you but renders you unconscious, someone has to tend to you medically, and feed you, WITHOUT A TABLE... A truly doomed colony
Floppa is hungry, floppa sees dead floppa, floppa takes a nibble and dies. Floppa 3 is hungry.

Maybe in vanilla Rimworld, but with this mod it's a fate exactly equal to death.

Try this is in something like Age of the Rim, you'll be dead long before there's a table. Took me a quadrum to get there.

fr tho, after i got like 21 colonists, I was unable to load my save file. Had to start a new game

So couldn't you be rather sweaty about this? make a dummy world and find out the radius of which a pawn looks for a Table and then spam one down at that title spacing and call it a day? as well as restrict them to an self sufficient area

The only way to prevent death would be to assign your colonists to a safe zone, and then ensure the safe zone is within 30 tiles of a table. Only expand the zone when you add more tables
Grim, please stop using stock images in your videos without paying for them. That's what The Spiffing Brit used to do and he got into a shit load of trouble for it so he had to completely redo the way he edits his videos.
Fair warning, as soon as people start to notice you're doing it you'll probably get into a heap of shit.
