- Today's episode of Tool Review Tuesday features a portable, lightweight speaker that packs a punch for it's size. If a little bigger than a metal lunchbox, pairs easily to Bluetooth, and has a kicking sound! It runs off DeWalt 12V Max and 20V Max batteries (purchased separately) as well as an AC cord that included. The model number of this speaker is DCR010.
The price was lowered just after publishing this video. Click on the link below to see the new price, it's an amazing value!

Dukes of Hazard metal lunch box! Great review! Keep up the good work!
Loved that show and the car!
I follow you from Mexico and we did have those metal lunch boxes to back on the 70 tank you for your work I’m a dewalt fan from Puerto Vallarta
Thanks, it's cool to hear your a DeWalt fan too. I went on vacation to Puerto Vallarta back when I was 15. We stayed at the Fiesta Americana and I remember parasailing.
markthomasbuilder those were the good days, be safe and god bless you
I had a classic Snoopy lunch box. Loved that clunky thing....lol. Mom kept it so I sill have it. 😁💙
That's awesome! I remember seeing several Snoopy lunch boxes when I was in school.
Great review. I have one of these and love it.
It's compact size and sound make it a great choice! I like listening to MLB games in the summer with it.
Here's an odd one...I had a "Lance Link, Secret Chimp" lunch box when I was a kid. Yeah, I'm old as hell, lol.
I just bought this speaker a couple of weeks ago and I love it! Like you said, great sound, built very tough, the 3ah battery that came with the deal will run for hours and hours...I'll have to try one of my 5ah batteries, I bet it will run for a day or more.
Cool, thanks for sharing. I had to google who that secret chimp was.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Lol, yeah that show is pretty obscure...I remember talking about it with the guys at work and none of them ever heard of that show, even the older guys. I wish I still had that old lunch box, might be worth something at this point, lol.
BTW...you can find episodes of that show right here on YT. Pretty cheesy and not very politically correct. It would never be put on the air these days with all the animal activists, feminists, etc.
Haha, sounds interesting! I see it only ran for about a year.
Superman!! Those were the days!
Yes I agree.
Louder than any other radio on the market!
Get the 20V tho, you can use your drill gun batteries when there's no electricity! Makes the day go by so much better when you have a radio on the job!
Great advice, I'd be lost without some music or podcasts to listen to.
Hi,
Just got a chance to see this video. OMG, too funny to hear metal lunch box. I had a few that i remember in catholic school. I had Kung fu, Evel Knievel and Six Million dollar man. Then brown paper bags. Then in 8th grade we where allowed to eat out for lunch (White Castle, Pizza and Home). Boy, the good old days,LOL.....
Oh wow, I remember some of the lunch boxes your mentioned, lol!
QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do you prefer listening to earbuds or a speaker when working? What do you listen to that makes the time go the fastest? Music, sports, podcasts?
Speakers (ear buds are uncomfortable). Generally prefer Podcasts or Audible books over music.
Speakers
Great review...on sale now for the Home Depot Black Friday $99 and get a free 3ah battery and charger... The thing rocks! I agree needs a storage bag, had to buy a Milwaukee canvas pouch and zip tie it to hold the cords! (Actually heading back to HD to get another one because I like it so much, need one in the golf bag.)
That's an awesome deal! I like the size of this speaker for bringing it outside with me to listen to MLB games. Thanks!
Yes i had a metal lunch box mine was Roy Rogers
Awesome!
I have one it’s good for fishing with it had an/fm 5amp battery last 8 hours at half volume
Sounds like a great way to listen to a ball game in the summer!
You have the same taste in music as me! I was just listening to Intergalactic!, license to ill (whole album) & Van Halen greatest hits (not Van Haggar). Have Dewalt 20V max
That's awesome! 💯 👊
Stars wars metal lunch. box .Return of the Jedi
Nice, love it! 😎 🤜 🤛
Emergency 51 metal lunchbox. 😁
Oh yeah, that brings me back. I looked it up and noticed their red truck looks similar to a 1979 Dodge Sno Commander I had in high school.
What is the purpose of the plastic piece that moves by the battery area?
Yes
Amazing Spider-Man and Snoopy
Those are some classics! Thanks for commenting.
I had a He-man metal lunch box.
I loved that show, especially the intro.
Yup, a Scooby Doo metal lunch box. 😄😂
That's a classic show that I watched a ton of, lol!
Star Wars lunch box for me.
Nice!💯
Summer Nights!
💯 👊 🙌
What is little pull handle for where you plug in battery
Yes , The Flintstones
Oh yeah, that's a good one! 😁👍
My lunch box had a Welcome Back, Kotter photo of the Kotter and the sweathogs
Haha, I remember that lunchbox. I'm pretty sure my sister had that one for a couple years at least.
5150 great album!
💯!
do bigger batteries make it louded due to the higher imput of power
I haven't tested it out, but in theory, the higher Ah batteries just give you longer runtime and not more performance. Good question.
I went to Lowes and looked at some of these work-site radios, they are much smaller than you think and start at $90. Not a bargain at all.
I forgot what this speaker cost at the time of making the video. I get a lot of comments about the compact size and how ideal it is to bring along. I'd say it has a nice sound for it's size.
I just got this speaker. The biggest downside is that it doesn't charge the battery with the AC cord. They even designed it so you can't plug it in while you have a battery on it, so you don't fry it or something because it's not made for it.. To me, that should be one of most "must-have" features.
That would be a nice feature. I normally bring this outside to an area where I don't have power, so a 4Ah battery seems to last a long time.
Did you try the life battery? How long does it run for?
I haven't tested the exact run time. I use a 4Ah battery and it last for several days where I run it for a couple hours at a time. I didn't see any advertised run time.
Novice here! Does that mean I can hear it with my wireless bluetooth ear buds 100 ft away from the unit? Thanks, Dan
No, you can play music through your phone using bluetooth. I also listen to podcasts or RUclips videos.
Yes.. Mr T 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I use this speaker all the time to listen to Detroit Tigers baseball when working outside. It's portable and pairs nice.
Would this be good for outside. I host kid parties and use about 20 yards of space.
My son borrows this speaker to bring to high school tennis practice. The coach has a play list that the team enjoys listening to. There's several courts that can hear the music, so I think it would work for your situation.
Yep, He-man
Awesome! I used to watch that show every day after school.
I had a Dukes of Hazard lunch box. Also got the snot beat out of my by a kid weilding a happy days lunch box. Good times
Oh man! As far as the Dukes of Hazard, that sounds like one I would've liked to have had. I was glued to the tv on Friday nights.
Wish it was smaller/thinner and had a radio.
This one is the most compact bluetooth speakers vs all the other ones I tested, but a even smaller one would be nice. I like having a radio too.
I had 1 . It was Scooby-Doo with Harlem Globe trotters
Awesome, those were classic episodes I remember watching.
I had the Lone Ranger, Donnie and Marie and The Partridge Family lunch boxes
Interesting mix. I seem to recall The Partridge Family one. It's possible my sister had that one, lol.
How does this compare to say a JBL Charge? Sound wise
That would be a good comparison. I recall hearing a nice full sound with JBL. The DeWalt one has a good sound, maybe not quite at the JBL level, but then again, the price of JBL is way higher.
Will this also charge the battery if you plug it in?
Good question... no it won't, unfortunately.
David Uriarte- I was wondering the same thing! It really sucks that it doesn't! My old Dewalt radio did one step forward and two steps back!
it sounds covered like it doesn't have tweeters. Yes loud but sound not clear
I gave this to my son and he uses it all the time. He definitely likes it. It's a handy size and decent sounding. There's been many other jobsite speakers that have rolled out since then. I'm thinking that DeWalt is overdue for another jobsite radio/speaker.
I had a Star Wars lunch box 1977
Great choice! I just googled them to get a look and it definitely brought back memories as a kid.
Do u know what the decibel it is loud wise? Over a hundred?
I'm not sure off hand if it goes over 100. I recall it getting decently loud.
I had a metal lunch box with Ewok's on it, shows my age, lol!
Haha, yep that takes me back.
I won this dewalt bluetooth from I think Copenhagen.
That's awesome. It's a handy size speaker, easy to bring along to the work area.
Had a metal Star Wars lunch box
Sounds like a good one to have!
Flex volt batteries work also batteries
That's true, giving you some very long runtime.
Any idea what that little paddle is for in the battery compartment?
Yes, it swivels to lock the battery latch in place.
How do you charge the battery
I have a battery charger mounted on my wall. The tool batteries detach from this just like other DeWalt tools.
What song is playing at the beginning of the video?
Hit the Gas by Andrew Applepie.
Thanks I just got this speaker today and it’s great..
PS I had a metal A-Team lunchbox lol.. thanks again
Transformers for mine lol
Oh yeah, I'm a fan of Transformers!👊
Not happy with the frequency range. I can’t hear high hat on any of my songs. This also extends into vocal ranges as well.
Interesting... I'll have to test the high hats on my speaker. Maybe listen to some Boston.
I had the metal 6 million dollar man ! Those were the days
Oh yeah, I remember that one. When I was a kid, my friend had the large action figure which had the see through bionic eye. Fun times!
I had GI joe. I found the thermos but cant locate the box.
will it play music by a usb drive?
No, as far as I know, the USB is just for plugging your devices in for charging.
Thanks for the info
100%
🙌
Thundercats and He Man circa 1984
Awesome! I'm a He Man fan, but don't recall much of the Thundercats.
A jobsite Dewalt construction speaker isn't DUST proof?!?!???? 🤔🤔🤔
Good observation. I looked it up and you are correct. I'll have to remember to keep it safe from the elements. It's a handy speaker otherwise.
I had a Batman lunch box.
Awesome, I've always been a big fan of Batman.
Star Wars was mine
That's a good one!
Mr. T lunch box...
Cool! I was a huge fan of the A-Team and Mr. T growing up.
I pity the fool! 😜🤣😂🤣
Me Too🤣🤣
I liked bt i changed kill my batterys not good .$80 dollar for battery . if have they own lition battery integrate.bt not😔 .and anotuer problen don have radio it just Bluetooth
ADAM 12 and NFL Helmets
That's awesome! I had the NFL helmet one with NFC on one side and AFC on the other. I remember riding the bus with my friend and we would comment and rate each team and if it looked cool or lame.
Starwars and He-Man
Awesome, those are classics!
Curious if it is IP rated.
I don't think it is. I'll see if I can find out for sure.
Mine was Dukes of Hazzard
Loved that show, every Friday night!
brown bagger
Yeah, I think I switched to that in 4th or 5th grade, when I became too old for a lunchbox. 🤣
anyone else listening to this video using the speaker 😅
Haha, that's awesome👊
Bro, get to the point, crappy intro, nobody cares about lunchbox memories
