Improves TV tech to watch nature -.-*
Didn't Texas Instruments have something similar except it was micro mirrors on a chip millions of them.
So this is the Sony Crystal LED that they showed off during CES 2012
Extrem cool.... But the price not cool...
Bad thing is we are watching 8k tv in a 720p youtube video
Amarnath Vootla yeah 😢
Actually, it's a 1080P video. They didn't even use a 4K camera to record the 8K TV.
Even my phone is 1440P (1.3X the dimensions and 1.7X the pixels of 1080P).
thats Shows that 8k or even 4k is far away from a standard
Amarnath Vootla Lmao...
Good luck for you pal i am watching this on 420p
i will wait for 16k next year and then buy a 4k tv.
ranjit sidhu you mean 8k
lmfaooooooooo.
King Power you miss the joke, that their making incremental BS changes and calling it 2xK just to charge a fortune but by default the older models prices will drop.
just bought a samsung 4k 55in tv for 600 bucks. mu8000 model. it was on walmart's website and just have to wait for the random price drop.
8k is end game, do you research, there wont be 16k ever
Check out Caleb's interview with Samsung's SVP of Consumer Electronics, Dave Das, as they take a more in-depth look at "The Wall":

"I can definately see a difference ! " // lol are this TV reviever just eating those humped promovids in the back 4k vs 8K like it was the bible, there is thousands of tricks Samsung could due to get the result they where after-, hence panelquality, settings, materiel etc etc to simply make a point.
The difference was so massive that you should seondguess it and if its soley 4k vs 8k there are in play.

-Did you buy it ?
- Yes.
- What did it cost ?
- Everything.
Micro LED sounds amazing. Just the fact that you won't get burn in is enough to sell me on one, assuming they can get the cost down of course.
Just say it. MicrOLED
With normal usage, in the place where oleds are meant (darkly lit room, you know, to benefit from the black blacks) burn in isnt a problem at all. Microleds need to go down size quite dractically (not gonna happen in the next few years) and will be pricey first. Also look at 1:12 the panel joints :D
DavidGX wait till 2025 then you can but a 8k MOLED 55inch tv for $1,500
Micro LED great for public places, but not at home. The mini panels pop out right away, once you see them. Awesome picture for a billboard though.
Burn in is not a problem with second gen OLED...just hype from the QLED. Notice how the "Q" looks so close to "O." Coincidence? 88 inch 8K looks awesome, but wait until Sony and LG start battle with the OLED...prices will drop and the superior OLED will win out. Bring out the new batteries Samsung!
Yes. I’d love to see this on a 65inch. It’s about time we get such precise backlighting.
Yes, yes, YES! Innovation and improving upon current technology is something I very much enjoy. Especially when I will be graduating, getting a job, and looking for a house later on. Maybe by 2025, I will be able to purchase a 150 inch 8k TV.
So in like 7-10 years this will be available for consumers at a decent price...(2500$) or so hopefully. Then and only then will it truly be a movie theater experience at home.
I'm watching an 8K TV on a 360p youtube video (Amazing)
You are a true genius
Lol
Me being a avid samsung user im loving the new products but im fine with other people having different choices to mine, ill still love that tv
I actually love this, huge news. It means OLED finally has a proper competitor and if MLED really is that great it will drive prices down for one and then eventually the other as sales drive competition!!
Amazing review to Samsung tv! Thanks Digital Trends you are super cool! :)
The development of "Micro LED" was the first thing Sony did, and since then most companies in the world have entered the development competition. The problem is that it takes too much production time. In 2017, the Korean company "Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials" developed a method to shorten the production time by 10,000 times, and then gave technology to Korean companies. Samsung has made this technology even better, making it the world's first "146-inch Micro LED" TV.
You can tell the qled 8k is on dynamic mode and the 4k is on normal mode ... i m not a fool
linn jazzy
EXACTLY. 👏👏👏
From a youtube video that wasnt shot in 4k?
You can see the brightness differnce between those 2. For me 4K looks better dan the 8k one..
No, actually the 8k unit has a higher NIT output so it is simply brighter because it can achieve the higher nits, which is just another thing to show off in your new set when doing a side by side.
Its made for hdr10+ bright nits and wider colour gamut
Saw this tv in person and it’s amazing . Picture is the clearest thing I ever saw . I will be getting one
Got it yet?
This guy knows alot and deliver well :)
Blacklight beautiful
I'm going to wait for the 16K tv next year and 32K the year after?!
we will be dead by the time 32k is the standard
4k = 2012, 8k = 2017, 16k = 2022, 32k = 2027, We won't be dead.
TestedModz imao technology doesnt work like that..
Technology does not improve year on year? Ok dude.
TestedModz sorry you won
IT IS BEAUTIFUL.
Finally it is here! Rejoice home theatre enthusiasts! Ultimate pq approaches!
"The TV is so big you can see your future in it" Eric M.M. Ikpah
People were complaining because Samsung made TVs with LCD technology... Now this is next level. Bye OLED.
2 years later, OLED is still the best by far
8k is the standard Ive wanted and will always want, can't wait till it becomes the norm
Reminds me of HIMYM
Lily: Shame you don't have a TV...
Barney: See that wall?
It's gonna be legen....wait for it daryyyyy.....
So okay. Microled could be the OLED killer. How much is it gonna cost for smaller size Microleds? That 146inch I saw is about $200k
MRfisheri Yeah only millionaires can buy those lol.
or you go for 73 inch fhd XD
it doesn't kill oleds.
It beats oled facts
Will beat oled on color and brightness
. micro led is inft contrast long lifespan and no burn in issue 🤣🤣🤣
I love the blacks of oled but always had to be extra careful with phone because I was scared of burn in which i never had to worry about with lcd. But now you can have the best of both worlds which is a pretty big deal to me. Take my money Samy :)
"Samy". Lol.
my 2 yr old s7 has no burn out ,and its not burn in ,its burn out
girlsdrinkfeck why do Samsung call it burn in then?
they dont
girlsdrinkfeck you're wrong. Apart from your word on the matter, please post some external resource from Samsung where they talk about 'burn out'?
I like the Tycho playing in the background.
That looks AWESOME.
The 4k tv still looked better to me. The colors on the 8k were too bright, and the tv's looked like they were in different modes. It's still amazing to see how far technology has come though, what a great thing to see.
Timeframe for a micro led monitor = 10 years
still happy with my full hd tv
1:21 When I looked at the TV, I saw that it was modular. It's amazing. 2:00 here is more desirable for home use as a whole, I think modular is groundbreaking for a larger application that's a little bit distant. I wonder when it's going to come out.
Superb..
Finally the perfect tv for my SNES classic! Lol
Mario shown here actual size
SAMSUNG, SAMSUNG SAMSUNG SAMSUNG SAMSUNG SAMSUNG MICROLED MICROLED MICROLED MICROLED. That's the one I want "8K MicoLed Television" It blows every other display technology away.
Crazy how there is actually tvs now that are this crisp an big I used to think when I was a kid I went to a friends house and he Ahmad a projector and played some cod I was mind blown how big it was in 2014 my tv was a basic 720 probably around 40 inches tv
No image retention?
My goodness, imagine gaming on that thang 🔥🔥😍
Top10In TheWorld Horizon Zero Dawn
Just bought 5 of these...would recommend
Good thing I held back on 4K TV, when the prices are right for a 8K I'm going to upgrade. To be honest currently I'm still happy with my 80"1080p TV and my Projector

John G I have a conservative view, ok. No need for adhomien attack, geez. I voted for Obummer once, hugely regret. Did not like his policy at all. I just want America to be a great country like Poland, Austria, Turkey etc. Safe country, no open border, terrorist free, no migrants, no illegals taking their jobs, no communist censorship/ suppressing free speech etc. If Hillary was elected, this country would definitely turn into a 3rd world shit hole, like Europe and Valenzuela. Good thing the resistance is fighting against these oppress woop woop. :)
So that's what trump was working on.
I love that I can't go anywhere without a political discussion.
MicroLED is gonna kill OLED. Want Samsung to put it in their phones soon like in 2020 and in their flagship TV's very soon rather than QLED
Maybe, but it's going to come out in 2019, and it's going to cost much more than OLED costs today. By the time it comes out, OLED will have improved and will cost less.
nah its not
8k 88” OLED. This is 146” and it’s 4K. OLED is perfectly bright. Idk why ppl are complaining, my C7 gets to 1300 nits
Yeah, after the 7-series generation OLED panels from LG the brightness is good enough for me. It was not good enough before though.
Next year, it’s going to be QLED microLED Plus super sub sampling with Tizen. Gimme a break, OLED is still better because it isnt backlit. Fundamentally different technology.
Dayum first time on the channel, the production quality is superb! Its like i watched the TV news! O_O
I got this 146 inch, its seriously a good tv.. Just like real life.. I use it for ps4 and its killin it!
Considering the 4k MicroLED is at 146 inches, shows how hard is for them to "micronize" the led subpixels. The result would be 1080p 73 inches and 540p at 36.5inches.
MicroLED is like 2-3 years before being ready for mass market.
This is the future - still isn’t in mass market
@@whitecrowuk575 I'm not sure when it will be in the mass market though
And just like that, Samsung is back.
Droidz Hunterz lg is much more better from a innovation stand point .
Finally got this tv! Now need to build a wall in my 400sqf apartment to put it up!
You look like a weatherman in front of that massive tv 😂 it’s crazy how large they are getting these days. Any who thanks for sharing
Play ps4 in TV is so amazing 😄😍😍
Uh Oh LinusTechTips....YOU CAN HAVE AN ENTIRE WALL INSTEAD OF A WINDOW NOW!!!!
I don't like him.
This is the technology I'm waiting for. MicroLED
you're so backward. the rest are waiting for nanoled
I need that wall TV no cap💯
Let me hit the power ball .
I would pay $4K for a 140" TV. I'm hoping the price reaches that point so I can replace my projector with this amazing screen.
GizmoMaltese im sorry to say this but are you ok ? Because 4K€ for a gigantic 140inch tv is low , for now , but maybe in 10-20 years you’ll be able to buy 140 inch tv for 4K€
@Ssp ssp Yea and who will need a 140 inch TV even in the future.
Oh boy, this is huge
Incremental upgrades and key detail modifications are what give the product it's edge in this hyper competitive market.
The brightness of that 8k TV is messed up. The colour on the TV on the right is perfect but everything is over done with brightness on the left. You cant even see the elephant 3:37 on that vase which you can see beautifully on the right.
Ah your probably right. What a weird effect.
There new 8k tv uses ai. Also he didnt mention that
Just what I was thinking. I was like: "isn't the video on the right better than the one on the left on the 8K TV?" I think they messed up some of the settings.
What you are witnessing is the recording camera's brightness bias toward the screen on the right. When the demo videos dim out, you can see the reflection of the guy recording; it looks like he's using a cellphone to record. Not the best way to accurately portray these high ends TVs. The only way you could properly observe the differences between the panels would be in person. But yes, I agree it did seem like the 8K TV's settings were off.
Probably dat.
HAHAHAHAH those comparisons on 8k vs 4K TV with sd/1080p content.
There no magic to make them look better on the 8k, the image on the 4k TV is clearly washed out on purpose (no torch mode)
Stfu weeb
4:00 Tycho is the background music. Awesome
I could listen to that dude talk all day.
2:23 Look in Slow Motion, 8K fails in rendering all the pixels in time while 4K doesn't... Looks like they're trying to run a 2020 game in a 2010 pc...
The tiles are visible, it needs to be one surface. Then I will be interested in buying this.
They are visible only in bright room under certain angles and when TV is off. However if they produce pixels smaller and or more dense this might really crush OLED.
1:10 "It's really hard to see right now, but there are individual panels within the larger screen", and all the panels coming out with the ceiling light reflexion.
That's a monster and probably with a monster price.
watching this video in 4K monitor ...
oh wait .. but im using 480p
my internet suck
rip 8K
The comparisons are like the biggest lie to my face that a Company could possibly do. R u kidding me? Like completely and vastly different Settings in order to Show what? Oversaturated colours ?
The development of "Micro LED" was the first thing Sony did, and since then most companies in the world have entered the development competition. The problem is that it takes too much production time. In 2017, the Korean company "Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials" developed a method to shorten the production time by 10,000 times, and then gave technology to Korean companies. Samsung has made this technology even better, making it the world's first "146-inch Micro LED" TV.
fk u on about nigga ?
Are you seriously using a RUclips video that wasn't even recorded at 4K to judge the quality of a TV?
You guys are completely missing the point of this mans comment. But yeah he is right, they obviously tweaked the LG OLED tv’s color settings to make it look like shit, its standard settings and the settings you see on shop displays are wayy better than that. That 8k tv doesnt look all that impressive
Again, you're watching a You effing Tube video. What do you seriously think this can show you? Now try to evaluate Dolby an Atmos sound system listening with your two table computer speakers.
Hell yes!!!! Love it I have a 75 inch right now it's freaking beautiful love every inch of that bad boy but a 146" come on now hell to the yesssss
William R. Sry But 146 inch and 4K I think won’t work together. I think you can even see the pixels of the 146 inch tv from like 1-2 meters away
Love the wall size, weeeeeeeeeeeeee.
People who say Samsung copied Sony.
Yall do know that most parts of Sony TV's are mostly from Samsung.
Its 2018 people, Sony was great back in the 90's although I do love their Playstations.
Edward Kim btw Sony's OLED tv's use LG's panel
Thats not true about Sony use Samsung parts. People are likely Samsung have copied as Sony showcase Cledis last year. In past lots of brands used parts from other companies ether ways its doesn't matter. Its all about picture usability and reliability which Sony most have. In the Iphone they use Sony censor and most mobiles phones actually. Either was for atleast the last four years a Sony at similar price range to Samsung would beat it on picture quality hands down.
All Oleds are LG panels But Sony have a decade of experience making Oled reference monitors for film makers. This expertise i can see shine through on the shop floors doing side by sides comparison.
lil man is right on the money. Sony makes professional displays their ability to make good TV's is at the top right now. 2017 sony tv were better than samsung TVs.
btw JDI/JOLED are going to be making their own panels in japan and they will be providing them to sony so they won't be using LG For much longer.
lol sony shown microled prototype called crystalLED in CES2012 and CLEDIS in CES2017 , and now sony demonstrate 8K HDR tv right now . The panel only one factor how good TV/monitor but the processor too and sony and lg do that better than samsung
Sooo Crystal LEDs?
These are brighter than what Sony has.
Yet have a lower resolution...
Chris Purolover
A 4k Crystal LED configuration would be 217 inches, so The Wall has a higher pixel density. Both are modular.
Katzelle3 The Cledis Wall that was introduced by Sony had a resolution of 8k.
The technology essentially is the same, isn't it?
Chris Purolover
Both are modular, hence there is no fixed resolution. Both products can be configured from a single tile to hundreds, which means you could reach 64k if you have the space for that.
8k is way ahead of its time!
It just seams like 8k makes things brighter 4k is still fucking amazing and won't be talked down upon ever
Funny how long it took OLEDs to come to market only to be completely outclassed a few years later...
Rainbowsixoperator1 funny OLED hasn’t been outclassed.
Microled is better
funny how micro led will take just as long so it'll be irrelevant
If Microled is better than Oled why hate thats tech for ya Qled yes not the True Qled Yet is already better than Oled HDR is whats being pushed more than anything else right now and a Qled is better for that than Oled its facts Qled is non Organic as well is Micro Led non Organic also meaning they can reach the highest Nits vs Oleds and have less Lag and wider colour Gamut......
Rainbowsixoperator1 if they dont lower their prices, they be going out the door just as fast
Micro-led > oled
Oh, so they did build the wall... looks good 😉
The one thing people probably don't know about Samsung's QLED TV's, are how durable they are. The screen on the outside of the display is made of tempered glass or reinforced plastic coated with fiberglass. I've dropped my 55 inch, and it didn't receive a dent or nothing. The display is still 100%~
Making $16.00 an hour just ain't cutting it to enjoy samsung in my life!☹
Dont feel bad I have a 55 inch tv. Sanyo 325 Dollars at Wal mart.2 years ago.I can't buy 82 inch
I have a 13" 1985 Sony Trinitron CRT.
@@angiemitchell2748 I have 55 inch TV as well. Decided to buy Full HD projector as I can watch 120-150 inch at an affordable price.
@@ZB1902R my uncle has one what u have looks great.makes 55 inch tv look bigger
1:11 you can clearly see the individual panels.
looks pretty horrible.
Level 99 yea i don't understand why its not invisible, they should find a way to hide it
But you don't see them when you're the watching the TV. It's not like you see the lines between the panels when the is outputting content. So what's the fuss?
Altandush Hoffmann I agree it was not noticable when running so no big deal
What if you're playing a movie where the top and bottom are black? That won't look nice
Maybe only seen when you're so close and when screen is dirty but not when sitting on couch watching a clean screen.
This is a good TV during lockdown
At least we wont have to worry about somebody climbing into my condo, taking my tv, and running down the street with it.
LMAO the color calibration on that 8K TV sucks compared to the 4K only thing I can notice is that they pumped up sharpness level and contrast. I own both Samsung 4K TV and Sony 4K TV I am happy with both not gonna upgrade to 8K anytime soon!
WarmSoftKitty on a 140 inch plus TV, you could definitely tell the difference. But yeah 8k just seems pointless right now. Then again, I thought 4k was pointless when that came out.
WarmSoftKitty well 8k is 4 times the resolution of 4k, so you should have compared 4k to 1080p. Regardless, I agree with you, noticable or not, there's just no point right now. This was just a tech demo, it's not like 8k is the norm.
there is no 8k movie anyway and a game would not be able to play at 8k with even the next playstation probably next high end gpus will at 30 fps tho still 8k is at least 5 years away
Watching this in ipad makes me angry
wow,it's really,so amazing!!!
Seriously I am going to buy this TV soon baby 👍👌

Not one show or movie or game if will will be provided in 8k for years to come...waste of money
1. Is the USB on the screen can play 4K files?
2. Can the USB on the screen send a 4K Dolby TrueHD sound to the AVR?
3. Can the USB screen play 4K HDR?
When will micro led be available?
They were suppose to release the first production this year, but because 2020 being 2020 we can expect the release 2021 according to samsung.
Wus up mix how are you no more fire arms video it’s been long time .
4:22 Heheh Gay mode.
thats cool :-)
He meant game mode not gay mode. Jeez you white homosexuals these days 😑.
no....listen carefuly...he said:" GAY Mode".
Because the like gay-men (gaming).

I was convinced for years I had a round face, until one day I had to take an ID picture and I was like "holy shit my head looks like a tv screen"
The Wall" seems to be a great option over using projector screens though obviously the bonus of projectors is you can hide the screen when not in use unlike the Wall, you could perhaps have a screensaver that shows art pieces or scenes when not in use, imagine a giant aquarium :D
This is the epitome of bullshit...
There's a difference, I bet there is but not one significant enough for normal people to upgrade. How about we focus on making sure we nail the 4k format so that it's accessible on all media platforms before you try to sell me on BS
Samsung calls the 75inch tv the window and the 146inch the wall...it will soon launch the 750inch tv called the boader and it will be built for Donald Trump
What about the 200" TV called til the sweat drip down my balls
You’re an asshole 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Kim Jong-un Dear supreme leader , do you enjoy your CRT ?
We've come a long way, when I was a kid in the seventies we had the "family console" tv, which was a big lumpy piece of furniture that had 13 channels, and you'd get up to click the dial until you found what you needed. My family tv did have a remote control though and it was ME, that's just the way it was. Can you imagine trying to explain to kids today that you had 13 channels and an antenna? Those were good times though, we had Mr. Rogers, Capt. Kangaroo, Sesame Street, The Electric Company, Zoom, The New Zoo Review, Saturday morning cartoons, try to find a good cartoon on a Saturday morning now, there's no such animal, and if you do it won't be funny.
"Individual panels, really hard to see"
The glare from the lights makes it look like it was folded in someone's pocket before the put it up
Micro and or qled is samsung marketing for va(lcd)panels
Incorrect. QLED TVs are LCD panels with back-lighting and a complete gimmick. But Micro LED is a panel full of self-emissive pixels. It's better than OLED, because the Micro LEDs are in-organic. It can get much brighter and the panel won't have burn-in. In theory, it's the true holy grail of panel technology. Sony showed a prototype of the same thing a while back.
gorillapancake we have to wait in 2019.
Who knows if it will ever make it to 55-65 inch models at reasonable prices. Sony's prototype disappeared.
gorillapancake happy with my C6 OLED. Had it almost a year now, Will be another 2 years before getting a new flagship tv.
