Being the flagship tv, you would expect Samsung to throw every bit of LED knowledge they have at the Q900B. The result is a beautifully crafted screen that is extremely elegant both on wall or on a tv support. The image is staggering and superb.
The reason why QLED MINI Led is so popular is because it displays more detail in dark colours compared to OLED which crushes it. I own both tech and if I had to choose one it would be QLED!
I bought one of the first Samsung 8k models back in early 2019 Q900 82". Loved how bright the TV is and the gaming, hated that some movie and TV show dark scenes had the auto-dim all over the place. BUT the biggest issue was on year 4 the TV developed a bright spot (3-4 inches) and a smudge 0.25" that appeared as the TV gets warm. For a TV that was $7k I find that unacceptable and I lost a lot of faith of Samsung's longevity. Just because the screen looks great and has no issues it does not mean it will look like that after warranty. I gave my parents my old 75" 4k Vizio from like 2015 and its still running with no issues. Don't get me wrong, I love the Samsung tech, but they need to increase the build quality and longevity, until that improves my next TV is a LG or Sony.
It’s sad TV companies are putting their best LCD technology behind the 8K pay wall to try and justify the astronomical prices. I will just stick with the best tech 4K has to offer, thank you.
@@semahj Right, that’s why I stated a MiniLED panel that’s better as well. It’s best in no area. Also, 8K panels are worse at displaying 4K than 4K panels. So unless you have the XR Cognitive processor in your TV, like with a Sony, it’s not a good idea at the moment. Either Z9K, or just get a high-end 4K TV. And at this point, 1000 nits is honestly more than good enough especially when you factor in the perfect black level, instant response time, and absolutely incredible color gamut that comes with QD-OLED panels. I would not trade all that away for a few hundred more nits, no way. But I guess that explains the price of the S95B and especially the A95K. LG G2 gets about as bright but lacks the color gamut and out-of-box color accuracy of QD-OLED, so I’d still say the A95K and S95B are the two best TV’s available (particularly A95K because it has Dolby Vision instead of HDR10+, and Sony image processing of course). As HDTVReview said, it’s the TV to beat!
@@daCUBSguy if it’s worth the money to you, then that’s nice. I’m aware this displays 4K, but even then, upscaling never looks as good as native resolution.
Imo the best thing about 8k is that it divides evenly into common resolutions i.e. 1080p, 1440p and 4k will all look like they are displayed natively if integer scaling is used
If Samsung put 3d on a 8k TV using passive glasses, then we will have 4K 3D. More feature for a 8k TV. Perhaps it would sell more 8k TV. Just 8k resolution won’t sell many 8k TVs, especially when it lowers native contrast on LCD.
I wish 3D would come back. Though I doubt it because the idiot shareholders are always chasing "the next big thing" 3D needs another chance which it never had.
I bought an 85" 4K last year. I can see every pixel. People tell me I can't. I can. People say you can't see pixels that small. I can. The screen door effect is terrible. It's like the TV has a microgrid. 8K isn't about the content. It's about the pixel size. We need 8K TVs because we need small pixels. Also all 1080P and 4K content are 8K content because the neural network upscale algorithms now are mind blowing.
I would love to see a side by side comparison of ALL current high end 8K TVs in a video please. Especially interested in how they compare for top of the range PC gaming which push their limits.
I did in a back room at best buy Santa Rosa ca. As no current cable or sat has the capacity without More compression, its a waste. A good 4k old from LG rocks.
One thing I'd love tv companies to do would be upscale free to air broadcasts.. ie, cache a minute of broadcast and then upscale it as it comes down the pipe
I was meant to buy the 75 900A but I failed to buy it off campaign price and now it's out of stock. So went for the 800B. Hoping one year later the technology has improved as well.
YES! Caleb.....I would love to see that comparison. Also, when will you be doing a breakdown on what's the best to buy again? I really like your honest reviews and appreciate the work. It's helped me a lot.
I am looking to upgrade and upsize my Sony 75' Z9D so I would love to see a side by side comparison of the QN900B and the Sony Z9K. I know that comparison will occur at the end of July at the TV Shootout in NYC but it would be great to get your point of view. 👍😊
Any qn900b vs qn95b planned? That’s my big decision point this year. One Connect box is game changer for merging my need for connectivity and my wife’s design consciousness.
This is the absolute most nonsensical take I've seen on the internet. Just mathematically impossible. You cannot gain 15. Yes 15 pixels worth of data from a single pixel.
@@whatistruth_1 this aint the early 2000's where tvs needed native sources to look good. Times have changed and tech has advanced, maybe you should give it a try. These new processors fill in the missing pixels, aka AI. Leave the old world pal, the 8k tvs today from sony and samsung are amazing. Look what smartphones of today are doing today with their cameras due to digital processing and AI, destroying analog $10k cameras.
Encouraging that Samsung are still sticking with developing non-OLED. I remain unconvinced that QD-OLED is utopia, in a bright room this level of brightness will really make a difference, plus it has the polarizing layer which will give better bright room blacks than a QD-OLED. Also nice to see Samsung at least can make a stand that holds the TV vertical
I have the 75" QN800B (couldn't justify the price hike with the 900B outside of having HDR 64X and Infinity Display) received a perfect panel, I was shocked given the horror stories out there and am completely blown away by the tests I've done. Sure, it has blooming, no LED completely eliminated it but in 90% of content it isn't noticeable and holy hell do films POP. It looks so damn good compared to other TV's I've had and yes, the blacks are OLED blacks, at least to my eyes comparing them in-store, it is a pure black in content I've tested it with. Not to mention, gaming, this TV in gaming is incredible. I cannot go back after this TV, the VRR and Game Mode with local dimming (my local dimming somehow remains in High? I've heard the TV is meant to run Game Mode with limited local dimming) and the low input lag combined has allowed my consoles to achieve higher frame-rates. Everything looks and plays silky smooth and 30 FPS finally has removed judder and that lagging motion that makes me sick, it makes 30 FPS look like 40-45. The colours are spectacular, 8K content (what you can find out there, AI upscaled, RUclips, etc) looks amazing and 4K to 8K upscale is clearly better than 4K native. It's just fact at this point, I play anything in native 4K and it looks so damn crystal clear and vibrant, I cannot go back after the QN800B. And yes, it may sound like a lot of gushing but after a lot of research and some worrying, I was very surprised by the TV and it surpassed all my expectations. Everything I throw at it currently it's just great (and you know, some will say that below 1080p SDR content looks bad on 8K but it's still clearer on this TV than I've encountered on others, it does as much as it possibly can with sub-par quality and I think personally it looks solid.)
I am either getting the 83” LG C2 or this one at 98”. The bigger size and gaming performance of this TV is what I like, LG C2 is oiled and supports Dolby Vision but it’s smaller.
I’m researching 8K TVs for a big purchase next year. I’m just not sure if I should take the dive like I did with 4K. I didn’t regret it one bit even though I rarely watched native 4K content. I bought it in 2015. It made EVERYTHING look better… and somehow added more detail to 1080p video games. Idk if I should get a high-end 4K OLED or an 8K and go all out again.
We still have a long way to go till most content is displayed in 4k. These tv companies are getting way ahead of themselves with these 8k panels, and even then, anything after 4k we really start to see diminishing returns. I personally think 8k will flop. It's the new 3d.
I'd go for the QN900b only if I'm shopping for a 4k tv at a similar price. I mean if I'm already spending 2 grand on a tv, I might as well go ALL out and getting the best bang for my buck.
Caleb, thank you for the review. Any 8K TV for 2022 or 2023 needs to be 1M Subscribers Prize Drawing. When we get to 16K, the manufacturers will put their best technology into those TV. The picture looked awesome, in 2160P 4K, of my Lenovo Yoga 9 Series Laptop. With any technology, there will always be issues, the consumer expects perfection, which never happens. For any product, you roll the dice and hope to come up with 7. Take Care. My best to the Digital Trends team.
No it wouldn’t. 2000 dollar top of the line gpus still struggle wirh 4k 60fps lol. It’s going to be another decade at least before gpus can even run 8k
Major TV manufacturers have adopted this attitude concerning their LCD TVs: "Too bad if you want our state-of-the-art technology in a 55" 4K LCD TV. We're not going to provide you with that. If you want the best quality LCD TVs from us, you have to buy a bigger 8k model." I'm just glad that the new QD-OLED TVs are being made available in a 55" size. I'll be investing in that superior technology, instead.
@Digital Trends important reminder: unless Samsung changed the shielding for 2022 (and it doesn't look like it), that One Connect Cable is NOT RATED FOR IN-WALL ROUTING in the United States, as it doesn't meet electrical code. Samsung has released a properly-rated version in prior years, but I wouldn't expect to see it until September or October.
The new samsung tizen menu can be easily bypassed from using the voice command feature from the remote. A lot of reviewers are leaving this detail out. You hold the mic button and say settings, and it launches settings. For users like myself, at night, I use my galaxy buds2 pro. To easily switch from the TV audio to the headphones instead of navigating through the menu, etc, just say the keyword Bluetooth, and it launches the Bluetooth menu. The hub screen is mainly for watching small previews to recommended movies and shows from multiple platforms integrated through one home page. This allows you to quickly find something to watch without having to open multiple apps. It seems like most people that review these newer TVs aren't acknowledging the simple bypass method of voice commands to quickly navigate to the setting, input, movie, show, streaming service, etc. I thought the new samsung Hub would annoy me based on the reviews on RUclips, but this method gives you the best of both worlds. I do not work for Samsung, I'm also not reimbursed from Samsung. I'm just an average Joe who owns the B.O.B devices that Samsung has to offer. Just wanted to share this info with you as the reviewer as well as to those who are on the fence of buying these newer Samsung TVs based on the OS.
As we advance into the future, the adoption of higher resolution displays also increases. I remember years ago 4K was considered "super expensive" and "unnecessary", but here we are. You could say 2K is still popular but 4K is at an all-time high in terms of usage. 8K - - probably in the next 5-10 years it will start to become popular as the display tech improves and these companies are able to produce it at less cost than what they cost today. Content - we are still seeing a surge into 4K, not everyone is on the 4K bandwagon so 8K content is still long ways to go. But, fast forward decades into the future and we will be having a laugh about 4K.
Caleb, my main interest in this TV is that it allows you to watch up to five things at once using multi-view (whereas the QN90B only allows you to watch up to two things at once). Do you know whether you can watch multiple HDMI sources this way, or is it limited to using multiple Tizen apps at once?
It does not unfortunately and it's limited to 1 hdmi, RUclips, tv and casting a phone. I was hoping I could use my series x and ps5 at once and get some online coop going on one tv
Hi Caleb, Thanks for the great work you put in - every single video is interesting and informative and most importantly, very entertaining! One question: from your point of view, is there any (good!) reason to switch from a Sony Z8H to a Samsung QN90/900 or Sony X90/95J / K? I'm struggling with myself, but so far the various tests haven't completely convinced me.... A Z9 is unfortunately too expensive....but the Z8 I "shot "last year for only 2,500 euros .... Thanks for your advice! Greetings from Germany!
Can't say if the Z9K is better since it just came out - only available in 75" at one place, and nothing available at Best Buy, Amazon, or BH. Haven't seen a single review, even with review samples. But yes, would like to see the comparison. You loved the Z9J last year. So would definitely like to see the Mini LED/Master Drive version. Sadly, even on a $10k TV, Sony still doesn't have 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. Facepalm for the manufacturer of some of the best TVs in the world for decades, and maker of one of the best selling consoles of all time, still playing games with HDMI inputs in 2022. Rumors of possible chipset changes for next year...at least in their top models. But they are years behind LG, and now Samsung.
You can pretty much take it to the bank the Samsung is the better tv. Sony isn’t capable of making better TVs than Samsung anymore. They just have the nerve to try and charge you more.
Years behind in HDMI port quantity, sure. But years ahead in image processing (and therefore picture quality), color accuracy, HDR tone mapping, sound quality, software, etc. etc. I will take two HDMI 2.1 ports with the best quality possible over four HDMI 2.1 ports and mid-range quality, which is what you get from Samsung and LG. Sony is the only high-end TV company currently, and they price their products to reflect that. Similar to Apple with iPhones (average sale price of $900 vs. average sale price of $290 for Samsung phones). Samsung will forever be a budget option. LG sticks around mid-range from time to time. But companies like Sony, Apple, etc. are always the choice for quality when you can afford it. Problem is not everyone can afford it.
@@Fusionade best processing? Are you joking. The one you are hyping is the one thing you can’t measure . Hey you need to stop making excuses for them because it’s not getting any better. Color accuracy are you kidding? They can’t even make a better tv than hisense now days. The x95k is a turd. Probably the worst mini led tv ever made with blooming so bad I think it’s an ips tv and you write a novel defending them. Ok buddy keep buying their overpriced trash
@@curtk8130 Sony A95K is the “TV to beat”, according to every major RUclipsr including HDTVTest. Just because you can’t afford it doesn’t make it “overpriced.” It’s just not for you 🤷♂️ Stick to the mid-range, yeah?
@@Fusionade Not sure I can objectively agree with you. Yes, Sony focuses on image quality and not on stats/features, like HDMI ports, mini LED, local dimming zones, etc. They have been objectively better at color accuracy and color gradient, and subjectively better in other areas like motion and upscaling. Sound quality is subjective and irrelevant as most will have sound bars and sound systems. Software is meh. I would run Chromecast or Apple TV anyway. The fact that they came out with QD-OLED this year was surprising since they usually play the Apple game of "Be the best, not the first". But LG and Samsung have made huge strides in processing, to the point only the pixel peeping reviewers will be able to tell the difference in most cases. If Sony wants to continue the "best image" card, that's fine. But that's no excuse for having the company who makes the collectively best selling console of all time, and focuses on image quality, to be years behind on the inputs to get the best quality. Just my opinion.
I bought this TV a few weeks ago and it does have a backlight issue. It looks like a grid of dark spots, only viewable on very light images. The shop swapped the TV but the problem remains on the new TV. Everything else looks great though.
The backlightlighting issues due to it being an oled iPhones with retina screen switch which are not oled have white spots occasionally LCD panels don't really have this issue
great review thanks! but nothing about Ambient Mode??? How far have they come on that feature, ie, can i make a slide show with MY PICTURES? Do they still put on a frame around my photos? Its been a few years since i've looked at Samsung TV's and that 'frame' issue always put me off. Tia for any clarity.
You briefly mentioned TCL and that's the TV review I can't wait to see. Have you heard anything about when the C935 might be making its way Stateside or to your office?
PLEASE compare this to the Q900C and the LG Z2 or Z3! Super frustrated by the fact that the Z2 won the 2022 8K Shootout but comparisons and reviews to other companies' flagship are nonexistent.
The 8K detractors are the same Amish trollers that said the same thing about 1080p and 4K but probably said 3D was soo cool. If you want a LARGE TV - not some middling 65", you want 8K - and no, you don't need to sit 20' from a 100" TV. And ANYONE who has seen decent upscaling (e.g. Oppo or Sony) knows that lower resolution content can look better when upscaled. I'm a big fan of putting the controls in a seperate box - (provided they have LONG cables available for it).
Okay Caleb so explain this to me. If shape adaptive light technology is what really makes the 8K TV look amazing. Then how come the QN90B which has it as well doesn't look as impressive???
Caleb, buying either 65 inch s95b oled or 65 inch 900b 8k. I only stream series and movies in a mainly dark room. Which one should I choose? I sit about 9 feet away.
I think you should've covered your subjective experience as to whether that extra resolution was _perceptible_ to you or not. It could be 16K for all I know, but if that doesn't translate into my standard viewing experience, that is irrelevant to me
I just bought the QN900B and I have a question. In order to get the best picture quality with the best possible upscaling for HD and 4K content to 8K, is it better to use the native software application or use my Apple new 4K device? Which one will provide the best picture quality? Or it doesn’t matter and the TV processor will handle the picture no matter the source? Please please let me know as I spent a lot of money 😂
They are identical. I tested it on mine. Besides, I HIGHLY suggest you to turn off the wifi on your tv and use the Apple Tv 4k to stream content instead of using the tv built in app. As long as you have the wifi on, the tv will update the firmware to the latest version, which is 1420 and it just came out, and the update will destroy HDR performance on the tv. Unfortunately, then you won't be able to watch 8k content on youtube since Apple tv doesn't support 8k playback. Also, if you want to watch contents in HDR10+, you must get the 2022 version of Apple Tv 4K.
Great review. Thank you Caleb. My 8 K question is, with no real 8 K content, the TV will rely on upscaling from whatever resolution to 8 K. Does that mean the upscaling ability of the TV will be the difference maker?
Yes, for now. That’s why the Sony Z9K will be hands-down the best 8K TV for now, because the XR Cognitive is the best processor in TVs currently and probably the only one capable of actually effectively constructing an 8K image. Once 8K content is mainstream, then things become competitive again across multiple brands.
@@darkhaven9119 “Doesn’t have better picture quality or black level, don’t know about the processor though.” So…you don’t know what the image processor in a TV does at all then. How could you not know which processor is better, and then say picture quality of one is better than the other? That’s determined pretty much entirely by the image processor. The image processor is what separates all high-end TVs of the same category (MiniLED, OLED, QD-OLED). Here, we are comparing two MiniLED panels. If the Samsung has better picture quality and black level (from local dimming), that would mean the processor produces better clarity, tone mapping, a more robust local dimming algorithm, etc. So…you’re just speaking out of your ass if you don’t know about the processors but confidently say Sony doesn’t have better picture quality. And just to help you, yes the Sony XR Cognitive processor is leagues ahead of the processors in LG and Samsung TV’s. Like, leagues ahead. Better local dimming algorithm with XR Backlight Master, better tone mapping, better clarity, etc. etc. all stemming from that insane processor, which every reviewer has called best in-class. It’s why you pay a premium with Sony. But Samsung is always there as a budget option as most normal people don’t need the extra boost in picture quality and color depth. I recommend Sony only for videophiles and home theater enthusiasts, and LG for gamers or casual use. Samsung…not really for anything at the moment. :/
Hey Caleb, I'm not sure if I did a good thing or a stupid thing. I was on Amazon warehouse and saw a samsung QN900B. So I bought it. FOR $24 AND CHANGE!! Granted it was a renewed tv but it came with a full 5 year samsung warranty and 90 day amazon warranty. Was I stupid to buy a renewed tv or d I d I score? The renewed turned me off but the price and warranty !!! Caleb what should I watch out for. I trust your judgement a d advice. Did I do good or no. BTW, it's an 85 inch one. Thanks.
Hi Bro. Whats tour best picture settings. Ijust purchased a 55U8H , but find it lacks a lot of what the US market gets. Is this an inferior roduct to the US one?
It's just ridiculous that Samsung is trying to sell old tech. But everyone knows very well that the Samsung QD-OLED TV is the best TV from Samsung and not the mini LED panels. Mini LED panels have been in monitor high-end technology for years, and it is sad that we still don't have a 4K 165Hz 32-inch monitor after all these years, and now I have to listen to Samsung saying that the Samsung QN900B 8K is the best TV out there Samsung is. Oh man, what nonsense. That's how I would say a TN panel is better than an OLED panel...
I wonder if 8k content will ever happen. Seems like if it were inevitable, there would already be some significant amount of 8k content, and at least some discussion of a disc format.
Why does there have to be any now? I’m not sure what’s leading you to believe if 8K was gonna happen, we should already have a significant amount of content. In 2010, we knew 4K was gonna happen. But we didn’t have a significant amount of content. And now we do. So just wait for it. There’s no “deadline”. You think we’re doomed to 4K for the rest of humankind’s existence? 😂
@@Fusionade Yeah I remember when 3D was going to become the "industry standard." You can see where that "next big thing" went. The first 4k TVs came on the market in October 2012. ( According to Wikipedia) . The first 4k UHD Blu Ray players hit the market in February of 2016 (according to Wikipedia) which is a span of about 3.5 years. The first 8k TV was being sold by Sharp in 2015 (Again, according to Wikipedia) Seven years later - twice the interval of 4k TV to 4k Disc - we don't even have any industry discussions of 8k content. No 8k disc is being contemplated by any industry consortium, there are no discussions that I'm aware of among video stream providers about 8k content and more importantly Hollywood / the content industry isn't making any kind of moves to provide content at 8k resolution. The only thing you can do in 8k right now is watch a half dozen RUclips clips, play a game IF your PC is powerful enough (and very few are); oh and you can tell people about how great the upscaling is on your TV.
@@billmilosz Yup so that’s it! 4K the rest of our lives. :) Forever and ever and ever. /s The PS5 and Xbox Series X literally advertise 8K HDR on their box (just video of course), every HDMI 2.1 cable on Amazon has “8K60” or whatever on the title, Nvidia and AMD have created settings for FSR/DLSS designed for 8K base resolution, every TV company ever is starting to ramp up 8K TV production with prices steadily going down, etc. etc. These companies are bringing attention to it. Relax and be patient. This is the cycle of technology. We just got 4K HDR to be very mainstream (it amazes me how common Dolby Vision is on streaming services), and 8K is the niche. Then, 8K becomes mainstream and whatever’s next becomes the niche. And on and on. This is the cycle. No 8K discs yet because it doesn’t make any sense, the clientele isn’t there quite yet. I was an early adopter of 4K back in 2013, and it was hell trying to find content. I don’t even remember what I did actually, especially since 4K wasn’t mainstream on RUclips either. And well, now we’re here. I been through this time and time again. Trust me, it’s on the way. 👍 Edit: Also regarding 3D, it’s not a resolution. It’s literally a gimmick like virtual reality gaming or Kinect/PlayStation Move or whatever. Companies sell these hard as the “future standard” but none of us actually believe it. Resolution is an entirely different thing. Resolution, color gamut, dynamic range, frame rate, etc. are all things that push us towards having real life on the screen: and that’s the ultimate end-goal for games and moves, right? We want to imitate real life imagery. So, we push resolution, color, etc. on and on. We don’t just “stop” at 4K, when have we as a society ever stopped at anything, especially in technology? People thought graphics were reaching their theoretical limit. Nope, time to simulate physics and real lighting. Here comes ray-tracing. Are we done then? Nope. Path-tracing next. On and on and on…
@@billmilosz 3D required glasses, which often required charging (or cut the resolution in half), gave people headaches, had limited viewing angles, had framerate issues, limited movie support, etc. etc. etc. 8K has........... none of those issues. Hi Caleb, and greetings from Sweden. Do the speakers sound better/same/worse when the TV is wall-mounted or on the stand? Is a sound bar even needed? Thanks, keep up the great work. Soon 1 mil.
Has anyone been able to connect a pc with an nvidia gpu and switch to 4k 120 or 144hz? I've tried all the suggested option I could find on nvidia control panel and it only ever gives me an HDMI no signal error when trying to switch refresh rate.
Game streaming is not gonna replace a console or PC until there’s minimal input latency and the planet’s internet infrastructure becomes waaaay superior to what it is now, just because you can play it and have a good experience doesn’t mean any household will.
So far I am very happy with the purchase...size75" matters!:) Picture quality - grate! The issue I find is that I must change the picture settings to get the best quality picture. So I've spent the good part of my Saturday watching a ton of your reviews.....I currently own a Samsung Q90 2019 model with the one connect which I absolutely love and I love the look it has being flush mounted to the wall because of the one connect cable. Great design but......... This is where it gets really bad...... Had an issue with my TV a year ago and had it repaired after being only 2 years old and now for the past month and a half I've been watching TV with the top third of my screen dim because of a back light issue. Of course it's out of warranty which I paid $4,000 for it and 2019 so to have to buy another TV is real upsetting in such a short period of time. @@daCUBSguy It isn’t the best TV. It isn’t even the best Samsung. The S95B is better. And when it comes to 8K MiniLED, the Sony Z9K is the best.
@@Fusionade that’s better if you want oled, LED still gets significantly brighter
1080p, 1440p and 4k will all look like they are displayed natively if integer scaling is used
This TV has almost no vignetting and dirty screen, looks like an OLED TV, incredible.
If Samsung put 3d on a 8k TV using passive glasses, then we will have 4K 3D. More feature for a 8k TV. Perhaps it would sell more 8k TV. Just 8k resolution won’t sell many 8k TVs, especially when it lowers native contrast on LCD.
If i bought that tv, i consider its bezel more than its 8K.😂

8K isn't about the content. It's about the pixel size.
We need 8K TVs because we need small pixels.
Also all 1080P and 4K content are 8K content because the neural network upscale algorithms now are mind blowing.
I would love to see a side by side comparison of ALL current high end 8K TVs in a video please. Especially interested in how they compare for top of the range PC gaming which push their limits.

Would love to see the comparison with the Z9K. Also do you find the lack of DV a black mark on the Samsung?
I am looking to upgrade and upsize my Sony 75' Z9D so I would love to see a side by side comparison of the QN900B and the Sony Z9K. I know that comparison will occur at the end of July at the TV Shootout in NYC but it would be great to get your point of view. 👍😊
Any qn900b vs qn95b planned? That’s my big decision point this year. One Connect box is game changer for merging my need for connectivity and my wife’s design consciousness.
The upscaling is so good on 900b that even 1080p source looks nearly native 8k due to the advanced processor.
It blows the 900a and 900ts (the last two years’ models) out of the water
I can swap my Q95T (Q90T) for the QN95B. Is it a upgrade worth doing?
Caleb, I'd hope this set is that good considering the massive cost of it in Canada. The 75 is $9000. I just picked up a 77 C1 for $3500. That's crazy.
I love my C1 and I'd definitely go with that if your budget is constrained. $9000 is ridiculously overpriced.
100 inch 8K for $8k is what I am waiting for! QN900D or the Z9 of that year.
I am either getting the 83” LG C2 or this one at 98”. The bigger size and gaming performance of this TV is what I like, LG C2 is oiled and supports Dolby Vision but it’s smaller.
Does this come in 98"?
I'd take a look at the Sony A95K if I were you. That QD-OLED display is downright impressive.
I bagged a 75 inch QN900B new for only $1,000 delivered!!! Love it more than my 65 LG G2. The blacks are almost identical to OLED.

Would you go for Samsung QN900B or LG G2?

My use case for 8K would be for retro emulation using CRT shaders.
Are you going to be reviewing the Hisense U8H and the TCL 835 soon?

@@Fusionade Agreed, but 8K won't be mainstream for a LONG time.
@@olgil Agreed
@@Fusionade this tv looks amazing. The Sony doesn’t have better picture quality or better black levels etc. Idk about the processor though
@@darkhaven9119 “Doesn’t have better picture quality or black level, don’t know about the processor though.”
So…you don’t know what the image processor in a TV does at all then.

Edit: Also regarding 3D, it’s not a resolution.
Why are you so stuck on discs? UHD Blu Ray has been dying an agonizing death for over 5 years now with minimal adoption.
Thanks Caleb for the honest and straight forward review.
Another benefit or 'reason to currently own' an 8k TV is, when watching 1080 content on an 85-inch TV, the TV lines are not visible.
Is QN900B still worth buying compared to the newest QN900D?
Hi Caleb, and greetings from Sweden. Do the speakers sound better/same/worse when the TV is wall-mounted or on the stand? Is a sound bar even needed? Thanks, keep up the great work. Soon 1 mil.
I noticed that this TV is wifi 6e....finally a premium TV which offers decent WiFi connectivity. Does anyone know if it has gigabit ethernet?
Has anyone been able to connect a pc with an nvidia gpu and switch to 4k 120 or 144hz? I've tried all the suggested option I could find on nvidia control panel and it only ever gives me an HDMI no signal error when trying to switch refresh rate.
Game streaming is not gonna replace a console or PC until there’s minimal input latency and the planet’s internet infrastructure becomes waaaay superior to what it is now, just because you can play it and have a good experience doesn’t mean any household will.
I was just about to say this. Remember Stadia? I don't think Samsung has more resources to make that happen than Google.
How do you know if you have a back-light problem?
I am in love with this tv but you did not mention whether it can record programs.
Will arrive tomorrow 🎉 75". May i ask for best screen setup ?👍
So far I am very happy with the purchase...size75" matters!:) Picture quality - grate!
The issue I find is that I must change the picture settings to get the best quality picture. Using only FMM changing 2.2 to 1886 and local dimming from low, standard, high....
Plasma was one set only for all!:) QN900B is much much better in mamy ways
I am thinking about the Toshiba m550. Could you give me your opinion. Thanks
Can get the 65inch for 1200.00 off on samsung website. Good deal or should i wait till next year. Thanks..Phil
Does this tv leave local dimming enabled when VRR is enabled? That’s a huge plus for all sony TVs that support it
Can u tell a bout thr 900C?
did you saw the 3 d perpsective option... it should give more depth when you look at some video ?
I really can't see myself spending another dollar with Samsung.
Hey Caleb, do you think 8K will catch on like 4K TVs a few years ago? I also thought 4K was ridiculous, but now its the only TV being sold now.
Yep, people are gonna rush out and buy these 4-$8000 tvs.
@@TheKwod People "rushed out" to buy $25k 4K TVs when they first came out.
And guess what? They also had "no content" at the time and were a "waste of money".
(P.S. the same thing happened with HD, "HD-ready" and 1080P TVs.)
@@tim3172 the 1% maybe...
Hi Caleb, thinking of upgrading from 65" Q9FN to 75" QN900B, is the upgrade worth it? TV on sale at the moment.
I went to QN900B from a Q950TS (2020 QLED) and I thought that was worth it.
Are you able to play 8k content using the native RUclips app or other apps from the google store? I am reading that it’s not allowing streaming of 8k video from RUclips and that it only accepts 4K
@ Digital trends what size tv did you review?
Currently you can pick up a 75”QN800A and QN90B for about the same price. What is your option on those two models?
90b....last yrs 8k had subpar performance.
What is best sony z9j 8k or this Samsung tv ?
SIR, a couple of questions
Are there problems with lipsyncing ?
How is the motion performance when viewing sports or anime ?
