A few months ago I woke up with the JHS intro song stuck in my head. I could just not place it. It was driving me mad. It's a banger. I hummed it to friends and family for help. No one could place it. Today, I can finally rest.

I have an SD2! That turns a fender amp into a 3 channel rig. I always wondered why it wasn’t more popular.
I love the parallel mode on the JB-2. It got me thinking and I set up a split signal on chain with a volume pedal on one side that allows you to mix an effect into your basic sound. Using it with an overdrive gives you a real time variable distortion for emphasising certain sections.
Gigrig have something that does this called the Wetter Box. You can use an expression pedal to control the mix. I have one, it's a cool utility. Not the cheapest solution but built like a tank!
Ooh i have everything needed to try this out, im gunna have to see how i like it for my rig.
I do have the original pigtronix disnortion that has fuzz and overdrive in parallel(or you can turn the gain all the way down on either to make them boosts) and they really sound great in parallel and definitely fills out the sound really nicely
I would have liked to see him do something more different with it.
The JB-2 is such an amazing pedal and the Red Remote pushes it to even greater heights. Never getting rid of mine.
I’ve been using the Angry Driver for the last 6 months or so and I love it. I’m putting together a nano+ board right now and having so many options in a single pedal is a huge space saver on a small board!

It was so amazing to watch all the builders at the pedal party (at the bowling alley) so much respect was shown to Yoshi. I’m actually glad I dragged the whole BOSS Namm team to that party.

I bought this pedal about a year ago on reverb for $120, and somehow it was still unopened. Love this pedal though, it's so versatile!

I saw this in an Atlanta shop in October, searched for this exact video which was clearly not out yet, bought it anyway, and now am thrilled to see this video is here to validate my impulse decision 3 months later!
The sound on “1000 punches” and “Orion’s Belt Buckle” was just fabulously unbelievable. Had to immediately rewind and listen to these again.
I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach it won’t be long before the JB-2 will be a permanent resident next to the Charlie Brown, Double Barrel, and AT+ (not to mention all the others) that are already here… I really thought I was covered on that end.
Apparently there is no such thing as “enough overdrives and distortion pedals” when you watch the JHS show.
On the other hand, you just *know* the moment I order it there will be a waza JB-2W announced…
“Remember The 90’s” got me right in the feels…Nostalgia vibes just oozing from my headphones as it took me all the way back to January 2nd, 1990…the day I stepped up and became a man (first day in the Army).

I love the Angry Charlie v3 and often use a BD-2 in front of it.
I LOVE this pedal in parallel mode. I fell in love with it all over again when I found a cool setting the other day - bass from the JHS circuit, with some sparkly overdrive on top from the Blues Driver. Such a full sound. Magnifique!
I literally bought one of these last week and I absolutely love it! Gives me an amazing, powerful, Marshallesque crunch tone that sits very nicely between my clean tone and high gain channel.
One of the very best and a favourite of mine in my (large) Boss collection. Amazing tones and flexibility, Josh. Great work.

This is definitely my next pedal. I have a JHS Andy Timmons and love the Angry Charlie circuit. I also love the old Boss Blues Driver. I tried one of these pedals at my local shop and was extremely impressed. It just checked all the right boxes. Incredible feat of engineering.
Thought you did another one for a second there XD Always been interested in this pedal though, the angry charlie is one of those dream distortions to have, while the blue driver is a classic that I've still never tried myself. Plus its about half the price of getting both separately.
Been 5 years, time to do the sequel.
This is not an current 4/5 knob Angry Charlie circuit, he is not going to undercut his own product. But, the bread board PROTO AC circuit together with the BD 2 is a great thing! parallel mode is where it shines
I had a friend come from the states and he had among other pedals an angry charlie (v2) and I played around with it, using it in the end as a "booster" pedal and before the main distortion, and the sound was devastating. Fell in love with it after that. Great work man.

Very enjoyable episode. I have the Boss JB-2 Angry Driver and love it. It is probably the most versatile overdrive/distortion pedal I have. It has so many different options. You can get anywhere between slight tubey overdrive all the way to full blown insane distortion with this pedal. Much appreciated pedal. Thank you for your involvement with this great pedal. It brings a lot of excitement and joy every time I use it.
Well JHS you did it again. I really dig the demos showing the versatility and tone of all pedals you showcase. Just ordered one of these yesterday . This now brings my JHS collection up to 3. Colourbox v2 and the Artificial Blonde.

I seriously hope the JB-2 stays in perpetual production, it's easily the most versatile BOSS drive/dirt pedal ever and sounds incredible in front and and in the effects loop of basically *any* amp
Edit: shout outs to Rabea Massaad's video on this, sold me on the pedal and interestingly enough, his demo of the Charlie>BD-2 cascade was huge for me

Christmas lights have actually been wired in parallel for decades now. That’s why they get brighter as the bulbs die rather than going out after the first one. Great video and pedal

It’s not a universal thing, but in this day and age, nothing is. Dude’s coming from his own experience, and honestly, it’s a classic example that’s always used. And they do still sell cheap sets that go out when one bulb goes out.
And honestly, give young people *some* credit. I’m pretty sure they’ve seen Xmas movies that are older than they are. And some of them probably grew up with older sets that their parents or grandparents had.
Xmas lights are a trope that are constantly referenced when talking about series v parallel wiring. You’re just being pedantic for the sake of your own ego or something.

Thanks Josh. I got this in 2018 not long after I seriously started getting back into guitar after some fallow years. This is the most versatile distortion I own. Pedals should inspire and those series and parallel settings give you a wealth of options that are so fun to play with. Thank you.

Fingers crossed for a version 2 angry driver..lol ..I've been exploring the endless depths of the muffaletta for months..barely scratched surface yet...bravo man.. unbelievable pedal.. bonsai and packrat will be in my cabinet eventually as well...really no better bang for your $$ anywhere in the boutique pedal world..
Love hearing you talk about parallel drives. I bought a Boss LS-2 last year to experiment with parallel effects, and parallel drives quickly became my favorite use of that pedal. When I set it up, it always feels more complicated than I want to deal with, but the sounds can really be worth it.
Edit: Also, love the love for Fetch the Bolt Cutters. Incredible record.

I bought a JB-2 a couple of years ago to have both an Angry Charlie and a Blues Driver when needed. At first I did just that, used the Red Remote to switch between the two and was happy. Soon I started experimenting with the series and parralell modes and found I love to push the Blues Driver into the Angry Charlie. So just a great collaboration pedeal. Thanks!

I love this pedal. Tried the parallel config once on a bass guitar part I was recording and loved the tone I got out of it. An underestimated pedal.

I have been checking this pedal out online to potentially make it my 2nd pedal ever. Found one in my local store in Croatia and I need to go try it out (but I'll probably get it when I get there). On a different note, I have learned a tremendous amount from your videos -- many many thanks!
This was one of, if not the first, pedal I bought a couple years back when I started looking at pedals again. Very versatile and prob my first choice to take to a jam. My old band may be starting up again and this pedal could basically deliver all the drive sounds I need. Great pedal!
That third parallel setting was amazing, dark yet with a bright attack. Going to have to think more about parallel.

This is my favorite pedal, no joke. I think the best feature is being able to switch among the two pedals with different settings or stack or series. It's so versatile and there's not a bad sound in it. I would love to see more collaborations between your two.
I use the Angry Charlie into the BD-2 with the remote, with some slapback delay from a Boss DD-3 as my main distorted sound. It's a fantastic caustic sounding distortion.
Bought this one last week and it's amazing!!! I like very very much the BD and AC modes, but the J->B mode is phenomenal! Pretty good result from this collaboration!

no lie this is my favorite distortion pedal. i got to play a buddy's JCM800 years ago and could not get the sound out of my head. and when i tested this out, i'd finally found it again. so thank you, i can get that sound without shelling out for a JCM800. probably not unusual but i use it for atmospheric black metal. the harmonics from the JCM distortion are perfect for tremolo picking, and blending it parallel with the blues driver side did WAY more for it than i expected it to.
I picked one of these up in college, sounds amazing. Super versatile.

I love Fetch the Bolt Cutters! One of my favorite albums of 2020! It’s tough to pick a favorite song, but “Heavy Balloon” pops up in my Spotify shuffles a lot, and I’m never mad about it.
