I got one because it was cheaper then the 9 or 10, I plan on using it for low light air soft, idk how well it will do in mood lighting, but we'll find out! If I don't like it, I can always return it. Hopfully it can keep up with the action.
Such helpful videos! Regarding the Bit Rate, why does the GoPro note that this can (should?) only be “high” for 2.7k and up, and why are we setting it as “high” for 1080p? Is it doing something even with the lower resolution? Thank you!
Sorry Im asking this on an old video but it applies specifically to a Hero 8 Black..... Im trying to get video of some strange lights flying around in the night sky. Most are no brighter than the stars are but occasionally a little brighter. I cant even seem to get the stars in my videos with the auto low light function. Where the gopro is getting setup is very rural so other than a full moon tonight theres no other light sources. What settings should I use to capture this? I really want to document this but its been very difficult to get video.
Reha - what if I don't have much capability to "clean up" in "post production"? I use only iMovie and I'm super limited. What low light settings, like night shots, are best for that instance?
Thank you very much for a great tutorial on gopro8. That's out of your own great experienced and willing to share it with others that need it. I'm a beginner of gopro8 user and would love to have more live tutorials as you have done to aid others like me that needs more exposure in order to have better video clips in the future. Tqvm.
Love this video! Fantastic examples and having the settings displayed in the top left corner made it very easy to follow along. Will definitely be using these settings for my hero8 black!
hello can you help me ? I have hero 8 and is absolute garbage image on autumn. I did all from the video when i hold camera in hand and dont do any shaky movements its absolute fine. But i ride on bike and low light start around 16:00+ and i have rly bad footage. What to do if i want clear image with decent stabilization?
I'm having a heck of a time with my GoPro Hero 8. I am videoing from POV and working with my hands indoors and the items in my fingers are blurry. I've watched videos from people using their GoPro the same way and whatever they are holding in their fingers is clear as can be. I followed your directions, but to no avail. Whatever I'm holding in my fingers is blurry, just zero detail to the item. Do I need some sort of lens magnifier for my Hero 8 to fix this since this camera does not focus? Please help.
Thank you for your very thorough and informative explanations. Just one question please, would the same settings for low light apply for sunrise and sunset?
I bought a GoPro HERO9, I was new to Gopro so I didn't know about protune and I learned a lot from this video. Thanks. And thank you. Doesn't the HERO9 have a Low LIGHT setting? It didn't show up on the menu.
Thank you Reha! These GP-H8 default settings vids and the straight forward explanations helped me (a new Go Pro owner) a BIG lot. Now after the basics worked out I at least have a base to start experimenting from :)
This is very valuable information to have. I've seen other reviews showing how bad the gopro 8 is compared to the gopro 7 simply because they did not choose manual setting. Auto settings can sometimes really mess up your shots. Your example, shown here, eliminates that. Thank you for this tutorial.
It's very helpful for new user of go pro 8 like me. Thank you so much. Sure I will subscribe coz you're channel will help me to set my go pro accordingly.
Does the hero 7 silver have these settings? I tried looking for them but can’t find them. I’m new to the go pro family. For Some reason my footage from my go pro has a lot of noise in it. Please help
Thank you so much for this, Reha! At first, I chose native because it looked better in the preview, but you were right about 4000K. I appreciate your relaxed and organized style of presenting! All the best!
Hey u use the go pro app u can control it from ur phone or iPad hope that’s helpful but that’s what I’ve been using as it gives u a view of what’s being recorded too
This really helps and explains a lot of things I had questions about. However i am currently shooting in a man made cave system and there are extremely dark areas and light areas. I am going in and out of both so all of this is very tricky. If you have any advice on how to handle this fluctuation in light it would be greatly appreciated.
The Billboard signs are too tough. Shooting in Las Vegas at night was challenging to say the least. I see they are blown out here too. They had one Google sign that was ridiculously Sharp but i could not do it justice !!
Thanks this is what I use for Christmas Light viewing while driving: 4K 24fps, Shutter 1/48th, Bit Rate Hight, EV Comp c0, ISO MIN 100, ISO MAX 1600, WB3200, Sharpness Low, GOPRO Color and Stabilization boast enabled.
Honestly, the settings he suggests - 99% of the people would accept right out of the camera and most people viewing personal videos from their friends or loved ones would be extremely happy with these results and most would only care about contents only.
Thanks man! I appreciate the in depth video! I recently got the hero 8 black and have been shooting mostly in dark scenes and in flat. This should help greatly! Check out my channel @Catfish KC and let me know what you think of the latest vid. It was dark and I spent a lot of time color grading and it could be better. The new settings should help! Thanks for these tips!
Great video man. Just started with GoPro and was scratching my head filming low light work situations and Iphone captures very well.
Champion! Haven’t tried it yet but these settings are completely different to what I had and mine looked like I shot the video with a potato
Excellent. Completely helped me with our new Theatre Filming!!! Amazingly thorough video and very well explained. You are the BEST!!
This is the very best video I have seen yet on the low light GoPro 8 Hero camera. Very well done my friend. Keep up the great work!
Excellent info vid!👍. Thank you
Hello ! Cand you help me with settings for a 360 video booth ? For more quality videos !
Just bought a Hero 8 and this video is very helpful for some of what I’ll be using this camera for! Thanks for the great tutorial

Your original settings that you suggested looked awesome.
Thank you!!! Great explanation and examples!! Greets from México 🇲🇽
can i get you sudjestion settings for motovlogging day light using only..
Which GoPro is best for interior shots and videos: the 8 or the 9? And whet are the alternatives? Thanks
Superb video
Thanks
Definitely it’s great information really appreciated very helpful my friend thank you very much
Thank you sir i always watching your videos
So nice of you
Hi, great video ! Do you think these low light settings would work in a house attic using the chest mount moving around in the attic?
Do you use iso 800 in golden hour? If not can you recommend settings without using post? I’m shooting birds flying into the nestbox.

Fantastic video! Not only helpful but also a great educational lesson on advanced GoPro video. Thank you for jumping right into it! 👍

Very helpful Reha I'll try your suggested settings
Using these settings for the Peak Bar in Tokyo. Thanks!
I will be in Tokyo in April. Let us see your footage!
@@RehaAlev Oh the pressure! Peak bar is a must visit provided there is no cloud or fog. You should video the Robot Restaurant 😄
Can this be helpful for live video for Facebook?

hello buddy do you no how to turn off the gprop8 osd info like baatt and ss the showing on the screen?
Hi. What is SP? SP: Low and SP: Medium ??
Easy to follow videos Reha. Just bought my first go pro and glad I found your channel. You've a new subscriber 😀👍👏
Thank you for your very thorough and informative explanations. Just one question please, would the same settings for low light apply for sunrise and sunset?
It should
Thank you for the tips!

Good info. Gr8 tips
Excelent Test!!
Thanks!
is the blocking in the upper left (sky) caused by youtube compression or is it already present in the original capture?
Nice comparison, but many record videos inside too, family gatherings, lower light, night time, restaurants, etc. This comparison would be helpful.
Thanks you
Welcome
A learned much from this video, thank you!
Thank you so much for this, Reha! At first, I chose native because it looked better in the preview, but you were right about 4000K. I appreciate your relaxed and organized style of presenting! All the best!
Thanks bro
Perfect! good Tutorial, but how i can set it while moving with the cam? any idea?
Like but no reply basically means he has absolutely no idea lmfao 🤦🏻♂️
Will be the same settings. I would avoid fast movements though otherwise, you will get blurry images and even artifacts in the video.
Hey u use the go pro app u can control it from ur phone or iPad hope that’s helpful but that’s what I’ve been using as it gives u a view of what’s being recorded too
this is in Bangkok. in front of a hotel . on the corner?
at right side you have a Seven 11

Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
This settings can be for motovlog?
If you drive at night, the settings should apply
The Billboard signs are too tough. Shooting in Las Vegas at night was challenging to say the least. I see they are blown out here too. They had one Google sign that was ridiculously Sharp but i could not do it justice !!
Great!
I use GoPro as security camera on my bike. ISO 800, and 1080p does not allow you to see car plate numbers.
Very authentic
Thank you!
hi, I have a problem with the hero 8 black, when I record a video the screen is full of light grains. has happened to someone? how did you solve it?
Same here bro

Amazing brother, share next tutorial oke
wait what?! 1:43 and 2:19 .... high bit rate not working in this resolution (1080) :D
it works. 60mbps instead of 100, according to the manual.
Speaking of "Low Light" has anyone ever used a I.R. light aka Infrared LED light with a GoPro for night videoing?
I have the GoPro LED that you can attach on the media mod.. it’s pretty good. Would probably buy cheaper elsewhere though
Thinking out loud but buddy hasn't answered 1 question on this video lol I kinda respect it but that's cold blooded ha.
Sağol abi.
I share it with a friend in Thailand
Lets see some low light star pics
Right next to Insanity night club 😃
4k/60 in low light for action. 24fps is too slow.
You wouldn't see anything lmao
@@kittikorn6674 another guy said that 4k made it better in the dark. Dunno why.
Look like Thailand in your video
Your videos seem to cater to GoPro users who use Post Production software vs the avg users who probably doesnt
I try to cover both. My videos recommend settings for general use and for post.
Honestly, the settings he suggests - 99% of the people would accept right out of the camera and most people viewing personal videos from their friends or loved ones would be extremely happy with these results and most would only care about contents only.
As Hypersmooth needs toa increment to LOWER for night time never gonna happen .
Get a sport gimbal 100 bucks amazon
@@cassijoanna or reelsteady post edit?
FYI, The higher bit rate (100mbp/s) only works with 4k or 2.7k!!! Pause video at 2:20 and read.
High Bitrate also applies to 1080p whereas not in 100Mbps as for 4k/2.7k.
Rude dude...
High bit rate is only for 2.7K and 4k. Says right on the screen. You are shooting at 1080, so . . . .
Jeremiah Pierucci high bitrate also in 1080p, just not at 100mbps as for 2.7k or 4K.
Ahhh. I see. Thanks. Poorly worded by GoPro.
This did nothing for me
