If someone use 1/100 shutter is not difference use 25 or 50 fps only quality will be 5% worse. I recommend instal gopro lab when you can lock minimal shutter speed to for example 1/100 (if someone use EIS I'm not recommend use less than 1/100s, on 1/50s hypersmooth is not woking a lot) than someone can use inside and outside in this same settings :). after all the best is use gyroflow after :D it will be much smoother

Hi. I use gopro for fast moving mountain biking. I'm struggling to get good images when going into darker tree lined sections I'm also using max lens mod 2.0 on hero 12. Any suggestions to set up for low light while moving down fast bumpy runs. Thanks

Thanks for explain. When you said Low light, I wondering what’s the definition. As I’m filming indoor video usually with all lights on for hotel room tour. Does it classify as low light ? Since i want film in 5.3k but u suggest 4k when low light, i unsure which option I should take. Pls advise.

Yes, I would consider that a low light scenario

Best settings for go pro 12 hero black? I need settings adapted to artificial light, i.e. I will record a volleyball match in the sports hall, it will be dark outside and in the hall, as I wrote, artificial light. I'm very sorry for advice

It's not so much about PAL or secam when you produce videos for RUclips since the framerate on most computer monitors is a multiple of 30, so I recommend using a framerate that is a multiple or an integer divisible of 30, otherwise you get a lot of skipped or multiplied frames per second, unless you have an ultra high refresh rate on your monitor that can multiply each frame by the same integer, but most use 60 so 30 seems better than 24 or 25 since almost no one has a cinematic movie projector or broadcasts his footage on TV anyways

Want to say big thank you for making this video, haven't tested your settings yet, but my experience with hero 12 is terrible. Appaled, that hero 7 can run on automatic and produce 10x better image in low light foggy conditions than my hero 12 garbage that I need to tweak so many options to extract a decent image. My hero 7 performs 10x better in low light foggy conditions on river/ocean than my hero 12 that gives huge grainy/noise image, very disappointed, because most spectacular moment of my life that was captured on her0 12 turned out to be super dim/dark/grainy and ugly, where as my back up camera of hero 7 gave crisp great images with 4k settings, too bad my backup camera wasn't recording the primary event, but was a background camera.

I found the same thing. I might just have to go back to using my gopro 7 in low light

I always shoot in low light for my projects and I have found that the biggest improvement came from using a physical gimbal. The difference between using the built in stabilization and a gimbal was significant! It was so great that I could shoot in 50fps...which I need for my videos as there is a great deal of panning. I do agree that shooting in 5.3 actually reduces the picture quality.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. I am traveling next month with the family. Would 25 fps 4k 1/50s during day time and 50 fps 4k 1/100s in the evening (with a gimbal and hypersmooth off). I may use an anamorphic lens at night (skyreat), shall I shoot in 8/7 linear? Thanks!
