She makes that yule log cake rolling look so easy. I have never had the nerve to try but I have seen a LOT of the Great British Baking Show and know how hard this is.
She's the kind of person that finds one egg in your fridge and next thing you know there's a chiffon cake on your kitchen table
My British mother-in-law is like that too.
Amazing I'm sitting in Calcutta now and seeing and hearing what was a Prince s Christmas fare so long ago. I'm loving it.
Cooking and baking are both arts.
Cooking is a skill, baking is an art.
@@wanagi006 True. Baking can also be considered a science technically.

Not the way I bake !!
As is the way Michael is able to weave history and story-telling into these productions so seamlessly!
That why we call it "culinary art"
My family, if I don't make gravy in a 50 gallon vat, it is not a holiday with all the fix'ins. LOL
Yum, if you don't have gravy, is it even dinner??? It just adds extra flavor right???
Miss Hahn is joy to watch Thank you
Sky is blue, water's wet, and Michael is being uncomfortably flirty with the chef again
Flirty. Oh I just thought he was being annoying
I think they just have great chemistry!
@@eileendoherty5317 Idk she always kind of looks visibly uncomfortable to me
@@boxybrown5300 I agree and I evaluate people's body language for a living
great food has this effect on people...
Just Lovely. I would be happiest just with a rib, the greens, and one of those puddings. With gravy, of course.
a trick : watch series at flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Hamza Tristen yea, have been watching on Flixzone for years myself :D
Extremely interesting as well as entertaining!!! Good old Michael is as always a natural!!!
I just found this series. I love it
Rest in peace, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
In Christmas, Calcutta is very cold..especially in 1875 December it must be around 8°c to 9°c..which is not that hot..So the Prince of Wales must have had enjoyed the Christmas dinner in Calcutta Harbour😊
Ignorance at its finest ! Was gonna type the same thing.
Love the outdoor shots too of the grounds. The close-ups of the plants and bees are a delight!
Christmas goose. That's what we always have. One of those German traditions over Christmas.
Fantastic show. Happy New Year.
Happy holidays everyone ❤❤❤❤❤
Greetings from Portugal
I love that meal, prime rib. I make great Yorkshire pudding, my English mother taught me well......BUT......mine never looked like those magnificent ones she made. I’m jealous......and hungry.
My Mom also taught me how to make Yorkshire Pudding, and mine are just like that. We take the eggs and milk out in the morning so they are at room temperature when making the mix. As well, we use bacon fat which is in the oven at 450 prior to putting in the mix. Back in at 450 for 30 minutes and watch them rise like you have never had before!! If you are doubling the recipe, be sure to do this separately in another bowl. Do not double the recipe in the same bowl.
2 eggs (beaten)
Add 1 cup of milk
Add 1/2 tsp salt
Add 1cup of flour
Remember eggs and milk at room temperature. I just take them out in the morning and set them on the counter. Use 1/2 tsp of bacon fat in each of the muffin things!
@@kimmacrae8623 - thank you. My recipe is identical except for the bacon fat. I just just the beef drippings from the roast. My oven is getting old, I’ve had to adjust many recipes.
Mom used to like the Yorkshire pudding cold with jam. I like that too, but rarely we have any left over from supper.
You left out the hardest parts: how to save the parts from the roast you need for the gravy, how you prepared the pan for the Yorkshire pudding. How did you get the beef dripping that you spread on the roast?
Get fat to render from butcher. Pour HOT fat 1/3 way up muffin tin.
Oh, that cheese tart is easy enough... what a wonderful holiday side dish... it would go quite far as each person would only want a sliver... I imagine it’s quite rich 🤤

Dr. Annie!!!! How splendid!
Beautiful food!
I always enjoy all your episodes. More please ☺️
Fantastic show!
I eat my plain old salad while I watch these.
Oh, my! Yes, please!
Truely rich British cuisine. Lovely!
I would LOVE to come to England and a full English breakfast and then have a complete English dinner..with Yorkshire pudding! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!
"The Incredibly Decadent Royal Yule Log"....Prince Andrew?
LOL.
He’s a log all right
That’s funny !
🤣🤣🤣 so funny 🤣
I always though Andrew was more of the tart type!
And from the looks of it, a sour tart, at that!
What a delight!!! I am so glad you waited until this week to show this video. It's just so festive. Yay!!
Fantastic! ❤️❤️❤️
I could never cook if someone keeps talking to me lol... Love all those English mixing bowl and now I see as liquid jug too? Lovely!
Yes he is so annoying
Happy Christmas to all of you🎄
Delicious Royal recipes, yummy
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years 2021......GBU...around the world
Those two are amazing together she’s all business he’s trying to teach us historical facts and she could not care less. It’s a passive aggressive fight in that kitchen . No but seriously what did I not see, because these two got beef... 😂
She has to finish cooking during the timed sequence whilst he's doing the talking.
I love and respect her polite and professional efficiency 👍
Popovers, Yorkshire Pudding is popovers!
Love the new episode. I am sure the roll is baked well. Mary Berry would say, "there isn't much of a swirl." She also might make a "soggy bottom" comment on the cheese pie. LOL. Always look forward to these releases. Please don't take offense to my posting - it is in good fun and jest. Happy Holidays!
Prime Rib or turkey? Here in Texas, turkey is for Thanksgiving, prime rib for Christmas. Y'all done gone good!
Here in Washington it's turkey for Thanksgiving and Ham for Christmas.
I’m from Texas, we have turkey for thanksgiving and ham for Christmas.
Nobody gives a shit what you do in "Texas"
Good lordy that Roast Beef looks incredible. The only question is, did the host call up the Army to help devour it later?
@@billycaudill8600 Why be an asshole? Just your natural attitude? Well..just so you know..this was a conversation between grown, mature adults. Your age may say youre grown but your attitude says otherwise.
i LOVE these dishes. Is there a way to get a printed recipe?
I love your presentations. I must say I'm not certain bringing the modern xmas to us has been a good thing
Love the roast with veggies.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
I like this channel much better then all that other stuff you all get a A+ for cooking.videos
I coudn't help to notice how Anna clean the knife on the board before cutting the log and serve it 🤣😂😍
Thank you
I was wondering when a new episode would come on. I like this series.
I LOVE THIS SHOW. YAY. MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL.
Ooohh, I want a bite of the Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Yummy 😋
Very nice cooking excellent
Turkey is for Thanksgiving!!! And shrimp for summer!! Steaks for any special day!!!!
Yorkshire pudding 🤤🤤 so good and comforting.
Video title: "Royal Recipes Christmas"
Halfway through video: "Here are some Easter recipes..."
😂😂😂😂
@@michellejacobcik4244 You might wanna read that again because it does actually say Christmas and nowhere does it say “festivals” in the title, like you just wrote.
Holy roast of beef! Wow! Even a small roast is too much $ for us most of the time... that’s huge!! And lamb, forget it... With our budget I wouldn’t even consider it! It’s not overly common here in Atlantic Canada and when you get it it’s very expensive!
I was thinking the same. We eat turkey for Christmas or ham. Beef and lamb are way too expensive for most people.
Ultimate English dish....spoken in French ;-)
I love these two! Why are British people so enjoyable?
I enjoyed this so much, thank you for sharing. I was sad I couldn't be a taster too? LOL
From Canada
chef Anna has a charming laugh
A Christmas Carol was just one of several Christmas-themed stories written by Charles Dickens halo change the character of Christmas
where can i find the recipes for this series?
The cabbage looks delicious as well....what kind of cabbage is it?
Lovely Yule log
Yum
Love this series, this show can only exist because England had such a long and interesting history, not all good of course. You couldn't have this show in America :D
Yule log 35:16
Thank you for posting the time of the log.
Is there a book where recipes can be found, please?
around Christmas in britain plum pudding is traditional..in america it's fruit cake..then there is the joke about fruit cake..no one usually likes it...they always make jokes about it...except my mother-n-law's anyone who makes fun of her fruit cake is off their rocker...I mean I dunno what she does to it but man..it is awesome..I guess cuz she is now 96 and has well over 80 + years cooking experience..yea anyone who has cooked that long makes some awesome stuff..let me tell ya.
WOW
i thought the host was sir ian mckellen 😅
If you want yorkshire pudding to poof the highest. remember one thing. The ingredients need to be room temperature. Yorkshire pudding does not like to be cold. Then it goes into a piping hot prepared pan, with beef drippings, I use oxo and lard, and individual muffin tins, preheated at 425F And yep, never fails. Just set your milk and eggs onto the counter in the morning, and whip it up before cooking.
Just in time for me to make my yule log
Is there a cook book?
I found out the side table was where the food gifts from the friends and relatives of the royal family were displayed.
Merry Christmas ☺
Fun fact: if the casing for a pie was not supported by a tin or mold (and wasn’t meant to be eaten) it was called a coffin. This was a common practise in the Middle Ages.
Interesting fact!!
Awww poor lamb!!!
And brother BBUNTTAN sweet dreams Royal family
When King Henry was a young fit man he loved his Spanish wife and was a practicing Catholic
I think it's Michael Berk.
I am shock , the way she season the beef .
Turkey is for Thanksgiving!!!
I wonder why they never put celery in their roasted beef and beef stew?
I always have to put celery in mine.
Henry the 8th could eat that whole slab of beef and still want more LOL
👑👑👑💖💖💖
I much prefer the flavor and texture of roasted turkey over roast beef. And I make popovers for brunch whenever possible (same recipe as Yorkshire pud). And for medical reasons, I'm supposed to avoid any fat in my food, restricting me to plain roasted, boiled, or steamed chicken.
No temperature given for Yorkshire pudding and why so little seasoning on such a big piece of meat
I'm Hen-e-ry the Eighth I am.
Hen-e-ry the Eighth I am, I am.
I've been eating since six a.m.
For dessert I'll have dinner again.
My name's synonymous with gluttony.
I'll always eat a turkey or a ham...
It’s funny, Anna cares nothing about the Royals 🤣
I've noticed that. She hardly has a word to say in reply when Michael makes his fascinating historical and royal asides. Drives me mad.
@@gregoryambres1897 I am Michael and Anna is everyone I know lol
@@gregoryambres1897 Maybe because she concentrating, on a time schedule, and Irish. You heard her say, "An Irish woman making Yorkshire Pudding!"
It's unreal how much is documented about the royal family
Wait a minute. Im pretty certain I saw that young lady, Dipna, on an episode of spendaholics! I wonder if this was during that or after that episode because she looks a bit older... but that's kindve odd. I wonder if she's actually an actress that they sometimes plant on those shows because I don't remember any talk about her cooking or having a family restaurant business 🤔 hmmmmmm... interesting.
"Boeuf"
Mmm roast beast my mouth is watering
POORRRRRRRRRRRRR LAMB! 😨😥😥😥
For my family it's Cornish hens on thanksgiving and prime rib at Christmas. I hate turkey.
I learned much about British Christmas traditions from this episode; I didn't know that Queen Victoria can be credited for cleaning up Christmas and makes it a family holiday; Meanwhile in America we turned Christmas into a consumer blitzkrieg. I love that Easter is sneaked/snuck in the middle. I guess they ran out of material.
We Americans frown on ghee as it an be bought in the local grocery store., and is well known for making people sick!
I think Michael tries to make Anna feel uncomfortable with his sly jokes.
Love sheep!
🙏💐👑☝️🌠❣️💙
How about adding whole black cardamom, whole green cardamom and bay leaf to the carrot and milk mixture?
Hiii
สวัสดีครับวันนี้
If so where may I get one?
They're talking Christmas but the title is Easter???
