He then shook my hand to say goodbye and I guess could tell I was messed up although I tried to hide it( breath mints, food. He would not let go of my hand and said " you all right?" I said "yeah I'm okay" ( lie lie) and now putting his other hand on mine said "ya wouldn't lie to me would ya?". I then left but could feel that he totally knew that I needed help. Imagine, a total stranger with money and influence actually worrying about some little Canadian dude!? This totally changed my life, I got sober and have stayed that way. Kris was always my favorite singer/songwriter. That day he became my hero. Great man. Sorry to be so mushy.

I could sing almost every song he sang word for wordl But the most wonderful part was to watch his Dutch fans going crazy for autographs and love him. And Kris was so sweet and humble, like a young guy after his first concert,standing at the side of the stage until every autogrph was done, His good friend Willie Nelson in the same. There are giant stars who really are just like you and me, and do love us, Be happy for that!

Lovely! I saw Kris in concert in Baltimore at the Fish Market in the early 90's with my cousin. We were about 15 feet from the stage and screamed for him to sing the Pilgrim. I was a big Dennis Hopper fan and we sang at the top of our lungs along with Kris when he played this. It was a fabulous concert. Love his music. So happy to see his daughter singing with him!
I was at this tour in Holland and it was one of the best nights of my life. I cried off and on as Kris sang every song of his and I knew them all. He and Kelly were so sweet together. But I was totally blown away that this super star stood at the edge of the stage and signed autographs like he was just an old guy so happy that somebody liked him! What an angle in his older years!
