@@NevadaFederalBites never owned it but it’s based on a Audi and Audi makes some reliable cars. I test drove the atlas cross sport and it feels pretty good also it design is probably the best for that price.
One month 3000miles so far and ... I have noting but numerous Kudos, High Praise , along with numerous Thumps up from others who look at it for this new Atlas Cross Sport . It's style , roominess, comfort , handling, and user friendly instrument cluster has shown me that VW is a Big Contender in the growing SUV market. I purchased this Atlas Cross Sport with the V6 ,SEL Premium ,4 motion pkg. and no regrets for the price.
Just bought one yesterday. It’s Tourmaline Blue with 20inch Black wheels. Looks great! Decent acceleration but the quiet cabin ride is what sealed the deal!
I have been seeing people do low 7s 0-60 on them. I am sure on 93 gas, you should have no problem doing 6.7-7s 0-60 at sea level. With an APR st1 tune, 5.5s 0-60 should be pretty easy to do.
That is with rollout too, which shaves off a bunch of time. I definitely do not see this (awd, 2.0t) getting into the sixes or low 7s. With the vr6, it could do that but that would be pushing it. Also, front wheel drive models are quicker too, if you do some digging, you will find my time to be what VW was saying it would be (vw doesn't use rollout). I don't know how many people will actually tune an Atlas CS but the motor should handle it pretty well considering the output that the iron block 2.0 t has in many other vw and audi products. That would be something I'd be interested in seeing. But I couldn't imagine ditching my warranty to do that.
@@Realistick Car and Driver has a full size Atlas 2.0T at 7.3s 0-60. The Cross Sport is lighter by around 150-200 lbs. That should shave at least 0.2s off the time. I don't trust magazine times that much, so when I get a chance, I will measure the Atlas Cross 2.0T with a dragy to check the actual results. It has the same engine with a little less horsepower as the Q5 2.0T 248hp (Atlas is 235hp), which runs around 6 seconds 0-60. Atlas Cross Sport curb weight is 4288 lbs, and Q5 is 4057 lbs - so no reason why the Atlas 2.0T shouldn't see high 6s in good conditions. Reason why you got the approximated 7.9s was probably 1 - running 87 gas, 2 - engine didn't break in yet, 3 - needs to be driven hard for a while for the gearbox to adapt to aggressive starts, 4 (most likely) - the screen is a little behind on the refresh rate, so when you are accelerating at full throttle, the actual speed is more than the digital speedometer shows. It just doesn't catch up 100% equally at that acceleration rate, so you think it's slower than it is. I'd say it's about half a second behind the real speed. That's why it's best to time it with a dragy. The gas can shave about half a second off in these cars. The 4MOTION will always be faster than the FWD counterpart on a standing 1/4 mile, due to excellent grip and stable break boosted starts. The VR6 has been said to be slower than the 2.0T, due to how the torque curve. Once APR releases a transmission remap which will add more aggressive shifts, and a launch control, it will be seeing a 5 second 0-60 with the st1 tune all day long!
The engine could handle some extra power. I don't know how much more torque the transmission would be fine with. Obviously you will lose the warranty with anything remotely like that, hope this helps some.
Test drove this car this past weekend and it handled great very smooth ride and great feel behind the wheel, but there are two major drawbacks that will prevent me from even considering it. First the roof line is way too low when getting into the car, the seat must be put all the way down in order for a 5 foot 10 person to get in without hitting his head and to make things worse Volkswagen did not give the seats easy in easy out activation meaning they do not lower automatically when you turn the car off. So basically you need to adjust the sea every time you get in and out, without re-adjusting the seat, I could not get out of the car and that is also a major safety issue how is this ever passed safety is beyond me. In a SUV I like to ride with the seat high, is that not the point of a SUV. The second issue is with the digital cockpit Display, why they would put eight point type in something you need to see clearly is beyond believe. It is incredibly difficult to read and illumination at maximum is barely readable. Two major flaws makes this a no go for me.
I never noticed any issues with getting in and out of it but that can definitely vary from person to person but the virtual cockpit has multiple views so you can change how things look to make certain things bigger. While you can't change the size of the font, you can't change out of the small font on any gauge cluster!
I just tested this Crossover yesterday and absolutely no issue with getting in and out. I’m just 5’10”. And to say the cockpit is barely visible is a bit much. I absolutely loved everything abt the digital cockpit and not once did I feel it was difficult to read. To each his own.
i have owned 2019atlas premium toptrim, a piece of junk, engine light came out 3times within 1st year, poor quality and reliability,i sold it and went for Lexus, best decision i made
Owned it for about 2 weeks now and we love it. Tons of space and has some good power.
Help me out! How has the suv treated you now after a few months? I’m thinking about purchasing it.
I love it as well. I test drove it twice. Is it true what they say about the reliability?

Best review of the cross sport I have come across. Nicely done.
Thank you!

Hehateme is it a 2.0?
a 2.3 turbo like Ford makes would do WONDERS for this car... to say nothing of a turbo 6.
I just bought one, traded in my Touareg so I'll have to wait and see.
S Such the Touareg is literally the best SUV that Volkswagen offers. Any reason why you traded it in for the atlas?
NO!!!!!!!!!!
Ismael Dah they stopped selling Touaregs in the US after 2017.
