Same here, I grew up in an ashram. I didn’t become vegan until I was an older adult. Before then, I thought the same as all the vegetarians I grew up with, that avoiding just meat was enough. Now I look back and often think about just what you said.
An animal is literally a lesser life form. It's value and potential cannot be compared to a human. It's suffering and pain is completely insignificant.

Off late I too realised that Sadhguru has great oratory skills & that's it. Most of us though maybe knowing or understanding properly. Maybe we can write & speak fluent English but somewhere down the line, we're more comfortable in our Mother Tongue language when it comes to explaining or understanding something. This is where Sadhguru catches the Rope. The way he carries his speeches with his Extravagant oration in English, we get moved by his words & start to follow him. I don't say he is wrong but somewhere down the line he isn't always right.

Man You don't know anything about him first of all, he gives set diet for the people doing yoga, read his book "4 foods to avoide for a healthy lifestyle" on isho website he clearly says don't consume dairy products because adults do not require them and even it increases the bowel infections and that is not good for an adult body in fact he talks about 5 "whites" not to consume like Rice. Sugar etc and milk is one of them, all of his yoga teachers suggest not to consume dairy products for this very reason ask any of them. In this video He is addressing the wider audience, I have stopped consuming milk or any dairy products after I started practicing his yoga because it is clearly advised not to consume, as it has negative effects on an adult body. He is not living in a strawberry world, and milking cow has been practiced for thousands of years in India, of course there are wrong practices everywhere, now he is not talking from that perspective. If you really know him, you'll see his way is to hardly consume anything other than fruits and vegetables, many people in his ashram go on only one vegetable diet, just one type of vegetable imagine that, you can not live without consuming life, even plant is a life. can you stop consuming it? On her grazing land people are building malls and apartments. It is a very big issue. God/Mother nature treats everyone equally. No mother earthling can produce more milk than what is required by its baby. A Cow's milk should fully go for the Calf for the Calf's proper growth and development, just like us: When we were babies, our mothers breastfeed the whole milk only to us, right? There is something called as ecological systems. Read about it sometime. We all are dependent on each other for certain things in nature and that's how the cycle works. The simple question is are we performing the activity compassionately or cruelly ? Are we hurting them in the process? If so we should reflect back and stop it. We can milk a cow in a proper way.

Thanks man, I am actually aware of this and as a kid I used to love milk, but recently I don’t feel like looking at it anymore. However the byproduct like butter and ghee are still something we as a society are dependent on. It really aches our heart to see such innocent animals being tortured by us.

Torture the cow(rape her, take her baby from her and take it to the slaughter house or just let it die while the cow is crying for her baby, let her stay in her own shit and pee, have a hole made through her nose and put a rope through it, give her a lot of antibiotics because of the condition in which she lives, her lifespan is cut, take away her milk which was meant for her baby, and repeat it every year) and then kill her when she is not productive, or 2. I still have this memory from my childhood, used to go to this diary near our house for milk every evening. Once I arrived bit early and saw one of the worker putting a dead calf on this reda ( they use to move and dump gobar to nearby empty spot) and then he covered it with all the gobar. While sitting there and waiting I used to wonder where these calf go every year until that incident. Now I have been a vegan from last 3 years, my both kids are vegan since very early years. So we have to tell our coming generations the damage dairy industry thas already inflicted to us. Our rivers, land and bodies are more polluted unless we stop dairy industry in India.

I do not believe that milking a cow is inhumane. In your other, video you mentioned that if you open a chicken's cage it will run away, because it knows it will be slaughtered. But a cow will always return back to its owner after grazing on its own despite knowing fully well that it will be milked and made to work in farm. Why would it return back home if it feels that its is tortured and exploited. All the animal abuse you mentioned happens only in the industrial dairies. Not in house holds and gaushalas. I have worked in gaushalas and I have seen how the cows are cared for till the time she is old and burried with all the rituals. I do not support that we should drive them to extinction just because we dont need them. How many animals will you erase out of existence.
i am a vegan person. but i will be rather talk about banning Meat industry which occupy 70% of the agricultural land instead of dairy industry which is mostly popular in India newzealand. but if you won't focus on Western world where they eat 3 times a day 3 types of animal. their refrigerator is full of beefs. but their media is focused on only Indian dairy industry.

As a child I remember we had desi cows who weren't treated like live stock. They were part of the family. We never impregnated them nor did we sell milk. Traditionally in our community selling milk was considered a sin. We used to milk cow only after the calf is fed (if the calf is overfed then they get their stomach bloated and become sick. It is true with every mammal. Even cats and bitches would not let their offspring have milk all the time). Also the cow isn't comfortable with anybody touching her. Only my Nanaji could milk her. All the cows in our house were sent to grazing land and they used to get pregnant naturally. I believe all kinds of wrong practices stem from capitalism which idealises mass production and treat even humans not only animals as a resource. Cows and humans were in symbiotic relationship in village economy which isn't the case anymore. In such a scenario I would rather be vegan than anything else. Mass production of milk does not only incite cruelty against animals but isn't healthy due to enormous amount of hormones infused in cows. We have no right to mess up with their health.

Cow milk is needed for human(women) to be pure in body. Milking Cow is essential but the milked Cow must be allowed to 1. give birth to calf, 2. enjoy its family, 3. enjoy sweet/vegetables/fodder & grasslands, 4. Must be cremated with prestige & not sent to slaughterhouse because all Cows are part of "GOPOOJA". If above is not followed there is no need to enjoy dairy of the Cow(herd) that is brutally slaughtered for meat & flesh.
Option 4 : Taking care of the cow like a family member while it voluntarily gives its milk to the family of people. This is what sadhguru was talking about, not abusing them for maximum milk and murdering them later.
I understand bro. But even the people who's taking care of it like family, do artificial insemination to make it pregnant and if male baby is born they'll sell it to slaughter house. They can't grow the male bcz it is not useful to them. I'm not blaming them for that. Bcz they're not rich to feed it without getting some profit out of it. And this cow is made pregnant every year for milk. After it loses its fertility. It won't be of any use. So they'll sell this cow also to slaughter house. Now don't say it does not happen in India. Bcz it does happen 98% of the time. Maybe 2% ppl are different than this. Again we can't blame them bcz it is the only way cows can exist in the world. So honestly speaking... Veganism is better. But Sadhguru is being practical.

No people from the village area will you find that just gives the cow for killing not the 98% of them. Come visit the villages of Rajasthan, Gujarat , hariyana every small village has 4-6 gausalas and whole village contribute to put food in there for these animals . Also in rajasthan village there is a strict rule on marriage or death of someone there family needs to contribute some money according to there choice from 11rs to whatever they can give for such gau seva 🙏

I subscribed ur channel due to we match thinking... but can you suggest alternate way of how we can care this animal without giving them work? who will feed them, I know the answer may be to do not breed them but what happen to existing cows or other animals, which are not pet animals and depending on humans to feed them. I didn’t become vegan until I was an older adult. Before then, I thought the same as all the vegetarians I grew up with, that avoiding just meat was enough. Now I look back and often think about just what you said.

Off late I too realised that Sadhguru has great oratory skills & that's it. Most of us though maybe knowing or understanding properly. Maybe we can write & speak fluent English but somewhere down the line, we're more comfortable in our Mother Tongue language when it comes to explaining or understanding something. This is where Sadhguru catches the Rope. The way he carries his speeches with his Extravagant oration in English, we get moved by his words & start to follow him. I don't say he is wrong but somewhere down the line he isn't always right.

I still have this memory from my childhood, used to go to this diary near our house for milk every evening. Once I arrived bit early and saw one of the worker putting a dead calf on this reda ( they use to move and dump gobar to nearby empty spot) and then he covered it with all the gobar. While sitting there and waiting I used to wonder where these calf go every year until that incident. Now I have been a vegan from last 3 years, my both kids are vegan since very early years. So we have to tell our coming generations the damage dairy industry thas already inflicted to us. Our rivers, land and bodies are more polluted unless we stop dairy industry in India.

I do not believe that milking a cow is inhumane.
In your other, video you mentioned that if you open a chicken's cage it will run away, because it knows it will be slaughtered. But a cow will always return back to its owner after grazing on its own despite knowing fully well that it will be milked and made to work in farm. Why would it return back home if it feels that its is tortured and exploited.
All the animal abuse you mentioned happens only in the industrial dairies. Not in house holds and gaushalas.
I have worked in gaushalas and I have seen how the cows are cared for till the time she is old and burried with all the rituals.

As a child I remember we had desi cows who weren't treated like live stock. They were part of the family. We never impregnated them nor did we sell milk. Traditionally in our community selling milk was considered a sin. We used to milk cow only after the calf is fed (if the calf is overfed then they get their stomach bloated and become sick. It is true with every mammal. Even cats and bitches would not let their offspring have milk all the time). Also the cow isn't comfortable with anybody touching her. Only my Nanaji could milk her. All the cows in our house were sent to grazing land and they used to get pregnant naturally. I believe all kinds of wrong practices stem from capitalism which idealises mass production and treat even humans not only animals as a resource. Cows and humans were in symbiotic relationship in village economy which isn't the case anymore. In such a scenario I would rather be vegan than anything else. Mass production of milk does not only incite cruelty against animals but isn't healthy due to enormous amount of hormones infused in cows. We have no right to mess up with their health.
That is what Sadhguru is saying cows lives with you in same house. Either you got disability of hearing or haven't watched the whole video. Cow milk is needed for human(women) to be pure in body. Milking Cow is essential but the milked Cow must be allowed to 1. give birth to calf, 2. enjoy its family, 3. enjoy sweet/vegetables/fodder & grasslands, 4. Must be cremated with prestige & not sent to slaughterhouse because all Cows are part of "GOPOOJA". If above is not followed there is no need to enjoy dairy of the Cow(herd) that is brutally slaughtered for meat & flesh.
Option 4 : Taking care of the cow like a family member while it voluntarily gives its milk to the family of people.
This is what sadhguru was talking about, not abusing them for maximum milk and murdering them later.

No people from the village area will you find that just gives the cow for killing not the 98% of them. Also in rajasthan village there is a strict rule on marriage or death of someone there family needs to contribute some money according to there choice from 11rs to whatever they can give for such gau seva 🙏

@@bhaveshtochabbra6853 sadhguru is talking by considering the whole world point of view where the people use to eat beef. cow can not be used like donkeys and horses so people will definitely eat them or make bags etc
@@durgeshyadav8425 no i completely agree with sadhguru. I listen to him all day and try to get a chance to go to isha foundation too. But a statement sadhguru said, " if cow didn't give milk they will be butchered by the cruel men" this is wrong.

How could someone even spread the idea of making a species extinct , ofcourse he made statements which might not have any relation with the topic of discussion but whatever he told was just right (Sadhguru' s words I meant),well the only solution is we need to develop a proper mind set and as you said should shift into veganism ,ppl shouldn't drink milk and shift to protein rich crops which are grown on our soil
