I am a Muslim and Quran mentions things and orders for a time 1400 years ago like the animals are used to ride and carry things in the same sentence or verse of eating meat. what i want to say may be that time it was ok to eat some meat and we all know there was not a meat industry as now but i believe if there is a Quran for our days it will forbid eating meat or any other products for the known goals of veganism. also if Muslims are very obeying what Quran says they should stop using car and back to use horses and donkeys.
and Quran says that people can use animal skin and hair to make cloths and houses but now with all the synthetic fabric industry of course if there is a Quran for this time it will not say that... I think it is a lame excuse for Muslims to use the excuse of Quran.

Also when carnists say that agriculture causes insect and rodent death, the key difference is that animals are raised to be killed. They are raised for that purpose.
Agriculture is not done for the purpose of killing insects and rodents. THAT'S the most important difference in addition to more crop, insect and rodent deaths because of animal products.

Hinduism gives us the concept about vegan.
If you read Vedas, Manusmriti you will find. Vedas strictly told us to follow vegan. No other religion. If you read other religion scripture, they told us slaughtering animals etc etc. Only Hinduism said, We shouldn’t kill or eat other animals. So, Hinduism is right.
We should follow Vedas. No other things.
This vegan activist are the people who grew up eating meat and suddenly at certain juncture of their big age they remember that they have been sinning , killing those naive creatures or else whatever they believe . whereas mostly Hindus like me are pure vegetarians since birth . I'm pure vegetarian since birth. i haven't yet seen any sorts of non-vegetarian foods with my naked eyes till date. only in movies and social media and sometimes like in a road where truck or piago carrying a buckets of eggs , that's it. besides this none. even to talk about non veg or such things is considered sinful , profane and awful in the home i stay , let alone eating. and there are millions and millions of Hindus in my state who are pure vegetarian since birth. because Hinduism strongly averse ingesting the things emanates from animal cruelty. so sometimes when i find a vegan lecturing me then i feel laugh

Islamic world is narrow minded
At the time of the Prophet (pbuh), non-human animal flesh was a necessity for survival. In modern times, we can get all our nutrition from a well-planned vegan diet. So the suffering and cruelty inflicted on non-human animals is completely unnecessary. Since Islam recognises that non-human animals are sentient beings who have consciousness and subjective experience of the world (as shown by the hadith referenced below), this means we can conclude that animal flesh and other products like eggs, dairy, and even insects and honey are haraam in the modern age and that veganism is fardh/wajib for all Muslims who are practically able to go vegan. There is no moral justification for slitting the throat of an animal that does not want to die, for separating children from their mothers, for viewing animals as products to be exploited, in this modern day and age when everyone, even pregnant women and babies, can be healthy on a well-planned vegan diet. Let us emulate the mercy of our beloved Prophet (pbuh) and pay homage to Allah, the Most Merciful and Most Compassionate, by becoming vegan ourselves and advocating for our family and friends to go vegan too, inshallah. Regarding udhiyah/qurbani for eid, let us ban this barbaric practice for the sake of Allah and instead distribute healthy vegan sources of protein such as lentils, chickpeas, grains, etc. to the poor instead of the flesh of an innocent victim. May Allah guide us closer to Him. Ameen.

The method used to grow crops kills certain animals but we have to remember that we r currently living in a non-vegan world. I'm sure that if society changed to become vegan & showed compassion towards sentient beings, we would find ways to reduce those incidents.

Actually shamzi and his band is right when he pointed out that insects are cleared out during Agriculture. Agriculture was made possible only by clearing up massive forests and by also diverse range of species. Humanity has its roots in terrible violence and tyranny to this planet.
Im pointing out facts just so that we vegans can have a strong factual understanding on what we do.
We can use farming sustainably without harming the environment by hidroponics, vertical farming and etc but there is no sustainable way to run the meat industry if the meat is not lab growned.
Yeah, but we must know why these many forests are being cleared to produce these many agricultural lands in the first place? 75% of the lands is used to produce just animal feed who these meat eaters create a demand for!

I also want to say that the UK Vegan activist in this video - Humane Hancock - is one of the greatest activists ever. Just like Arvind.
But I have a little problem with one of the arguments. Is Killing the Insects really an accident? Well, maybe not. Perhaps the nuclear bomb example was a good one. Not the comparison between bomb devastation and cultivating the land. It just checks if our logic is consistent. And the muslim didn't say anything about evacuation. He just asked: "If you see casualties after testing the bomb, would you test it twice there? Second time is not an accident". Yes, you could test it other way now. For example, after evacuating people. But that's another scenario. You change something, so you wouldn't have casualties.
Ok, you can't evacuate insects - maybe not possible for now. But, if you repeat your actions, after knowing there will be casualties FOR SURE, then it is not an accident anymore! You can not change it, but you repeat it. And you know the consequences - death of insects (they can not escape, like in the bomb test). So, when we know that if we want to harvest out plant food, somebody will die, it is not an accident anymore. We know and we do it in purpose - yes, to survive.
We don't know who exactly will die, but we know that many will die. Yes, it it in a way premeditated, because we plan it and we know the consequences. Just like with the bomb example.
Of course, that can not disprove Veganism, because of the many other argument we've heard in the video. But maybe, to be 100% accurate, we should admit that it is not a pure accident.

It is this requirement that differentiates us from the non-living things.
When I cut or injure any part of a plant it obstructs it's growth.
Our scientists Jagadish Chandra Bose had claimed scientifically that plants have life.

Also plants don't breathe they respire .Breathing is a physical process which involves taking in O2 and releasing CO2 whereas respiration means producing energy by breaking complex organic molecule with the help of O2.

Firstly you must note that animals and plants belong to different kingdoms.
Animals and plants have a different biological anatomy/trait.
E.g. animals respond to stimuli whereas plants don't (though there are scientific studies that prove that plants do respond to stimuli)
But, Responding to stimuli is just one of the parameters that determine whether a thing is living or non-living.
Other parameters include reproduction, adaption, growth, development and death.
Like animals, plants do the above as well.
How can one justify that a thing has life only if it displays a response to stimuli?
Islam and Logic, cant exist together.
Islam itself says animals feel pain, and doesn't say anything about plants feeling pain. I use that when arguing with muslims.

Hinduism gives us the concept about vegan.
If you read Vedas, Manusmriti you will find. Vedas strictly told us to follow vegan. No other religion. If you read other religion scripture, they told us slaughtering animals etc etc. Only Hinduism said, We shouldn’t kill or eat other animals. So, Hinduism is right.
Instead of saying animals,you should say non human animals because we are animals too,we are just another primate species.

In ancient times not only humans but also most of the animals living on land were highly dependent on rivers for their primary water source. What was the raw food that humans consumed ? Does any scientific fact could prove what humans actually ate before cooked food and agriculture started ?
I would like to let anybody reading this comment know that "Allah (God) did not mandate eating meat." That is not Islam saying you have to eat meat else you ain't a muslim.
It is permissible for a human to eat certain meat and not to eat certain meat. But, if a human chooses to be a vegetarian or vegan, it's up to their personal choice and preferences.
It's also ok to advise others to not eat meat or animal products if RELIGIOUS talks are not involved. And this video, Shamzi unnecessarily involved and created ruckus and brought in religion, not allowing someone to justify, laughing and mocking, comparing illogical things to justify. That is the most disgusting behaviour to have a conversation with any person. That's straight up ANNOYING.
