  • Christmas is coming up and here's a little present for you. In 1843 the beloved writer Charles Dickens wrote an immortal tale about the old and bitter Ebenezer Scrooge. 'A Christmas Carol' has been adapted to stage and screen numerous times.
For this video I used the animated version by Richard Williams with Alastair Sim reprising his role as Scrooge . It's an incredibly faithful adaptation with a wonderfully surreal look. The film received a fair amount of praise and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1972.
The music I used are Stephen Sondheim's opening titles from 'Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street'. The piece is very dark and spooky which was perfect for this Christmas ghost story.
'A Christmas Carol' belongs to the American Broadcasting Company.
