And “This is one pretty hardcore origin story”. Also I think those lines would have been perfect for Spider Ham because he’s a fourth wall breaking cartoon character.
Fun fact about Miles' roommate Ganke- The MCU Spider-Man movies actually took that dynamic from Mike's comics! Which is part of why we see less of him in the movies then originally planned.
Fun Fact: This created a WAVE in the animation industry with the likes of Puss in Boots 2 and The Bad Guys for stylized 2D and 3D artwork, intentionally lowering frame rates, and becoming more “animated” instead of the Pixar realism. Despite animation being in a “Post-Spider-Verse” era the team is best at it demonstrated in the sequel.
It was mainly 3D much like this movie, but gotta be honest 2D is sorely missed in the genre. The Boy and The Heron was the first 2D animation to win the best animated Oscar in decades, it's crazy because 2D still is the pinnacle of animation and Japanese animators like Miyazaki have been shitting all over 3D stuff for decades, 2D only ever got better.
my favorite moments in this movie are definitely the scene where his dad is at the door, especially the “I see this spark in you” and “I love you, you don't have to say it back.” Then of course there's the What's up, danger? scene. THAT was the scene that made Miles Morales my favorite spiderman, it's amazing on so many levels. I also love the latino rep in this movie as a latino myself :)
The roommate is *not* a reference to Tom Holland's spider-man, it's actually the other way around. Ganke Lee, Miles's best friend from the comics, and the first person he confided in. Ned in Tom Holland's Spider-Man films is inspired by Ganke. iirc, the Tom Holland movies using that was the reason he wasn't included *more* in this film, because they didn't want that particular comparison to be made. But they did the quick "best buds" at the end there to lead back to it for the comic fans.
I really love this movie, the interactions of the different spider people, Miles origin of becoming Spiderman, the comic book art style, the epic music, and especially the Stan Lee cameo, its just so visually phenomenal. And I'm so excited for the sequel
28:06 There are several Spider-Women in Marvel. The most mainstream are Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman, Cindy Moon / Silk and iirc also Julia Carpenter / Madame Web. My personal favorites are Ultimate Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman and Charlotte Webber / Sun-Spider
36:20 This remind me that, when Doc Ock swap bodies with Spider-Man, he fights Scorpion, with one punch, took jaw off and Doc Ock realize how much Peter was holding back all those years of fighting.

Also, Love the first part, and can’t wait for you guys to get BLOWN away by Part 2! 28:22 There’s also Penelope Parker, an 11 year old little girl version of Peter from Earth-11, A couple versions of Mary Jane as Spider-Woman and recently, there’s a Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat version of Spider Woman who calls herself “Night-Spider”. There’s also Silk, Sun-Spider and a Spider-Woman named Jessica Drew. 46:04 Peni is voiced by Kimioko Glenn who voices Lena on DuckTales.

A freaking masterpiece of a movie, and easily one of my favorite animated movie franchises. I’m not really gonna say anything incredibly detailed that hasn’t already been said about this movie’s success, but basically The Bad Guys, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and TMNT: Mutant Mayhem have someone to thank. Pixar makes gorgeous movies, but MY GOD was this movie a breath of fresh air! There's so much to be done with animation yet for a long while things seemed to be stuck in a same-y, plastic-y rut until Spiderverse came along and reminded people just how much fun you can have with animation.
Into The Spiderverse and Across The Spiderverse are the most amazing movies I've seen, and they hold a special place in my heart. I'm glad to see you guys reacting to this masterpiece!
26:44 Before Miles masters his powers, he's animated on twos (a choppier framerate) to make his motions look more staccato and rougher because he's less experienced. All the other Spider-people are animated on ones because they're more graceful. After getting the hang of his powers, Miles gets animated on ones as well, because he can visually handle the fluidity of it.
If you can see across the spiderverse in theater, do! It’s worth it to see on a big screen, but I understand if you want to react to it. Also on the topic of Miles’s roommate, Peter and Ned’s relationship in homecoming is actually inspired by Miles and Genki’s relationship in the comics (I’m sorry if I spelled that wrong).
The message being: just be you is very well delivered and displayed through out the movie. I love the new Noir design because I haven’t seen him since Shattered Dimensions, he’s voiced by Nick Cage, and he’s meta af. “Are we gonna talk about him while he stares at us?” Fun fact: when they animated Miles (especially during his spider arc), he moves at a choppy 2 frames in the 30pfs this movie shoots at while everyone else is silky and smooth at 1 fps. However when he starts to accept the responsibility and expectations of Spider-Man, he begins to smooth out every other frame until the end.
Correction, miles is animated on 2s and the others are on 1s, not 1fps lol (that means how many frames there's a new drawing, whereas fps is frames per second. 1fps would be holding a still image for a whole second which is. Not smooth lmao)
One of my favorite parts about the climax and miles jumping off the building isnt even from the movie itself but from the script of that scene that was shared. "He isnt falling....hes rising" gives me CHILLS when I think about it. This movie is probably my favorite adaptation of spiderman and ive been a fan of the comics since 1998.
44:45 Every time I hear the pig say “You got a problem with cartoons” I’m sitting here like, “Oh shit. He about to go off” (Also, side note: the voice actor did a phenomenal job with that slight voice crack when he said it. It gives you that rush that says “Shit’s about to go DOWN!”
50:33 actually Ned is based off Ganke, from the Miles Morales comics. Ned is actually kind of a jerk in the actual comics (I think for Peter Parker or Gwen Stacy’s)
44:24 OMG, You've gotta love the background graphics and the dialogue for Spider-Man Noir: JAB! SLUG! *APPLESAUCE* "Is that all you got? Are you gonna fight or are you just bumping gums?" "You hard-boiled turtle slapper!"
13:34 If you pause, you can see the 5 little blobs that shot out of the collider. Each blob was one of the Spider-people you meet later in the movie. You met one already, and she wears teal pointe shoes and has an eyebrow piercing. (She met Miles earlier than the explosion because it sent her back in time.)
Apparently, this can be watched in 3D. I watched "Heroes Reforged" movie reaction to this, and they had 3D glasses and absolutely loved the animation even more.
@H-Man no Spider-Gwen is one of the newer ones. Spider-Woman and Spider-Girl are both long standing characters in the comics. Around the time they started coming up with the idea of the Spider-Verse (some time after Miles got so popular in the comics and they wanted to bring him into the mainline comics cause he originated in an alternate universe) they started coming up with a bunch of ideas including Spider-Gwen but she does have one of the sicker costumes.
18:20 I appreciate that when Miles shocks Peter B., you don't see Peter B.'s skeleton like most cartoons would show you, you see his nervous system. Because our nervous systems are what carry electrical impulses to and from our brains. Getting shocked is not the same as getting an X-ray.
I remember at least three "main" spider women. The one called Spider-woman, Jessica Drew, then there's Cindy Moon aka Silk and finally Gwen Stacy as Spider Gwen who now goes by Ghost-Spider I believe. There has been tons of others though. MJ has been one too and one of Peter Parker clones was a woman, she hanged around the X-Men I think...
Spidey *is* holding back, because during the whole body switch arc in the comics with Doc Ock; Ock (in Pete’s body) punched Scorpion with full force and dislocated his jaw if I remember correctly. Even Ock was surprised by how much strength this scrawny kid had, but never fully used
28:06 In the main 616 universe, we have Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), Cindy Moon (Silk), Aña Corazon (Araña/Spider-Girl), Julia Carpenter (Arachne). Probably missing some. Fun Fact: Cindy is in the MCU. She was Peter’s classmate. The asian girl. I know less about Miles’ universe (Earth 1610). But I remember that Jessica Drew is also Spider-Woman there, but in this universe, she is Peter’s female clone. Captain America keeps up with skill; he isn’t as strong as Spider-Man. Thor also holds back, and MUCH more than Peter. Thor can do shit like wrestle the World Engine, which is basically like wrestling multiple universes at once.
@@leonardolonghi3472 Logically, yes. But he has somehow managed to beat Spider-Man even when he was using the Iron Spider suit. Just with skill. Which doesn’t make sense, because the sheer difference in speed plus the spider-sense should have made Peter win. Especially if he was enhanced by the suit.
@@g.masterlordoftheg-force4770 again, a "serious" Spider-Man wouldn't let him land a single hit I suppose you're referring to comic Civil War 1 fight, and that's regular restrained Spider-Man just wearing a fancy suit (which I consider as a restraint itself), definitely not "serious" if the writers had all their characters just be at their full potential the whole time, most stories would end after 3 pages literally any story involving The Hulk would immediately end, because Max Power Hulk is something that outclasses almost any being in the Marvel Universe (although, "Max Power Hulk" doesn't even exist, by Hulk's rules)
(At 29:25) Nooo, he said, "It's not going to work. They're gone." But I am a little surprised Tombstone was in this movie. And if you're wondering, Yes, he's albino.
Can we appreciate these dudes for not watching the new Spiderman for us/the content? Also, people be sleeping on Peter Porker. Dudes got Toon Force on his side along with Spiderpowers.
I love how this movie (unsure whether it’s this one or Into the Spider-verse) where depending on which theater you go to watch it there are just slight changes to the movie to kinda mimic the different versions of reality in multiverses and that’s really cool it got me feeling out to find the small differences of the same movie
17:30 The numbers on the sidewalk are there to remind us that this was Spider 42, which we also saw on the abdomen of the spider that bit Miles, in the intro sequence.
36:14 fun fact: in the comics, one of Wolverine’s friends commits suicide by sneaking up on Spider-Man while he was fully wound up from a fight with Wolverine. Spider-Man wasn’t looking and swung as hard as he could, thinking that Wolverine was coming to fight again. Iirc, Wolverine’s friend was on the run from some bad guys and that was the only way out she could find.
41:27 Miles broke the glass because unlike before, he didn't relax to let go of the building before jumping off. He was still stuck to it because he was still scared, and he STILL jumped anyway. It's that courage that makes him a great superhero.
37:13 "It doesn't pay to be an uncle in the Spider-Verse." No, it usually doesn't. However, there have been timelines where Uncle Ben was bitten and Peter was still a little boy, or just other timelines where Uncle Ben was the one who got powers instead of Peter.
I'm rly glad you reacted to this movie, I'd assumed you'd all watched it already. I envy the feeling of getting to watch it for the first time. I assume watching across the spiderverse for the first time will be just as enjoyable
9:32 The "coloring" you're talking about is called Chromatic Aberration. The animators used it in place of motion blur or the blurriness you get when something in your vision is out-of-focus.
26:05 Not trying to steal someone else's comment, but... That bagel really hit the spot. Seriously, this was already funny as a throwaway joke, but it came back in the second movie as a major plot point; I don't know if it was intended that way, but that was genius!
28:04 I was wondering why Gwen met Miles before the collider exploded, because the explosion was what brought all the other Spider-people here to Miles' dimension. So I was left asking how she got there if the collider didn't send her there. But then she said "I was blown into last week, literally." She DID get sent in with that explosion, she just went back in time and met Miles the week before he got to meet everyone else.
Ned is actually from Miles Morales’ story. Peter Parker doesnt have a friend named Ned, thats actually Miles’ guy in the chair and its also the reason he doesnt have much screentime in either spiderverse movies. its because they dont want to seem too similar to tom hollands movies.
I always found everyone's shock from two Spider-Men funny. As a comic fan myself, it was no surprise to me because not only has Miles been a thing since 2011, before him, there was Peter's Clones & his teenage daughter.
It has to be said that in Spiderman-Noir's origin story, his uncle Benjamin was literally eaten by his version of Vulture who's a cannibal. And even he thinks that Miles' has a hardcore origin story.
Fun Fact: If you hit pause anytime a train goes by, because all the animators wanted to animate Stan Lee, he's in almost every single train.

Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse are both masterpieces in my eyes.
“Oh dude he threw the bagel at him”
😏
I just love the screen flip after Miles’ leap of faith.
He’s not falling he’s soaring 41:34
Rising!
One of my favorite parts about the climax and miles jumping off the building isnt even from the movie itself but from the script of that scene that was shared.
"He isnt falling....hes rising"
gives me CHILLS when I think about it. This movie is probably my favorite adaptation of spiderman and ive been a fan of the comics since 1998.
26:00 When Miles throws the begal it briefly says BEGAL over the man's head
Bro keeps spoiling things for him right before it happens
44:45 Every time I hear the pig say “You got a problem with cartoons” I’m sitting here like, “Oh shit. He about to go off” (Also, side note: the voice actor did a phenomenal job with that slight voice crack when he said it. It gives you that rush that says “Shit’s about to go DOWN!”
The Peter from Miles' universe met Tony Stark, He's like a future Tom Holland Spiderman
50:33 actually Ned is based off Ganke, from the Miles Morales comics. Ned is actually kind of a jerk in the actual comics (I think for Peter Parker or Gwen Stacy’s)
Fun fact: The Tom Holland Spiderman took most of its references from Miles' comic origin not the other way around.
It's a small detail that goes unsaid, after his fall from the building Miles always ties his shoes.
16:47 this just reminded me so much of the “jump” scene in Venom and he just takes the elevator instead lol.
44:24 OMG, You've gotta love the background graphics and the dialogue for Spider-Man Noir: JAB! SLUG! *APPLESAUCE* "Is that all you got? Are you gonna fight or are you just bumping gums?" "You hard-boiled turtle slapper!"
Uncle Aaron: *gets shot*
Miguel: *”Bro It’s A Canon Event”*
😂😂😂
If you know, you know
13:34 If you pause, you can see the 5 little blobs that shot out of the collider. Each blob was one of the Spider-people you meet later in the movie. You met one already, and she wears teal pointe shoes and has an eyebrow piercing. (She met Miles earlier than the explosion because it sent her back in time.)
Lol not him asking the one question that you’re not allowed to ask about where they were swinging them 😂😂😂
The glass shattering as Miles leaps off, his body is still afraid and wanting to hold on its SO GOOD
Apparently, this can be watched in 3D.
28:07
There's Jessica Drew
May "Mayday" Parker
Cindy Moon
There's also Felicia Hardy as Night-Spider
4:36 In this scene you can see Miles is hiding Olivia's surname, obviously for the big villain reveal after in the movie, great detail
Thor can do shit like wrestle the World Engine, which is basically like wrestling multiple universes at once.
even Cap's best skills are useless in a serious fight with Spidey. his reflexes, including Spider-Sense, can't be matched by Cap in any way
@@leonardolonghi3472 Logically, yes.
But he has somehow managed to beat Spider-Man even when he was using the Iron Spider suit.
Just with skill.
Which doesn’t make sense, because the sheer difference in speed plus the spider-sense should have made Peter win. Especially if he was enhanced by the suit.
@@g.masterlordoftheg-force4770 again, a "serious" Spider-Man wouldn't let him land a single hit
I suppose you're referring to comic Civil War 1 fight, and that's regular restrained Spider-Man just wearing a fancy suit (which I consider as a restraint itself), definitely not "serious"
if the writers had all their characters just be at their full potential the whole time, most stories would end after 3 pages
literally any story involving The Hulk would immediately end, because Max Power Hulk is something that outclasses almost any being in the Marvel Universe (although, "Max Power Hulk" doesn't even exist, by Hulk's rules)
(At 29:25) Nooo, he said, "It's not going to work. They're gone."
But I am a little surprised Tombstone was in this movie.
And if you're wondering, Yes, he's albino.
26:04 Remember this bagel. It will be important to the plot.
Yeah when I was watching across I didn't know it was him though
“This is just Peter’s life if it didn’t work out” you mean just his life 😭😭 he’s literally never gotten a break
Can we appreciate these dudes for not watching the new Spiderman for us/the content? Also, people be sleeping on Peter Porker. Dudes got Toon Force on his side along with Spiderpowers.
26:05 There it is! The Bagel Effect!
I love how this movie (unsure whether it’s this one or Into the Spider-verse) where depending on which theater you go to watch it there are just slight changes to the movie to kinda mimic the different versions of reality in multiverses and that’s really cool it got me feeling out to find the small differences of the same movie
26:06 Honestly what I consider the funniest part of the movie.
When you pause, everything is a comic book page
Peni Parker's class mates are literally the Eva Crew xD
37:13 "It doesn't pay to be an uncle in the Spider-Verse." No, it usually doesn't. However, there have been timelines where Uncle Ben was bitten and Peter was still a little boy, or just other timelines where Uncle Ben was the one who got powers instead of Peter.
I'm rly glad you reacted to this movie, I'd assumed you'd all watched it already. I envy the feeling of getting to watch it for the first time. I assume watching across the spiderverse for the first time will be just as enjoyable
18:00 I was gonna say- I’ve been to that church in real life, so many times 😂
9:32 The "coloring" you're talking about is called Chromatic Aberration. The animators used it in place of motion blur or the blurriness you get when something in your vision is out-of-focus.
46:30 "Is he allowed to say that? Legally?"
Something Deadpool would say 😂
You wouldn’t believe how many spider man versions there are, there’s one that’s a hive mind of spiders in a suit
39:34 when ruff said clouds that’s actually how dofflamingo swings
12:24 "How long has Peter been Spider-Man?" He's 26 in the movie, and he was bitten when he was 16, so he's been doing this for about 10 years.
To give you an idea of how much spider-man holds back. When Doc Ock became Superior Spider-man. He punched the scorpions jaw off his face.
I cant wait for them to remember the guy who got hit by a bagel when the watch the next movie😂
I’ve been binging reactions to this after watching the sequel, glad to see y’all do one!
