      I feel that, I’m probably just gonna get the 28-70mm F2.8 sigma and call it a day for most stuff. 28mm full frame is what the Leica Q2 shoots with and it can still get some nice compression and do some work on a story telling type of portrait.

    Nice video! My 16-28 gets delivered tomorrow. I think Panasonic has had a firmware update since this video haven't they? I'm hoping it works good.

    dude you gotta do a vid on the s1h and how it compares to the s52...especially with the image quality and the "look"

    Nice vid! Although it's the floor of shame, that cool chandelier gave you eye light like Galadriel!

    I actually own it and it's really cool for shooting in 60fps cropped @24mm. Super light and flexible, just a lot of fun.
    But yeah... the 16mm wobble, even if just for landscape, is very distracting. So unless I use a tripod, it's cropped to 24mm. 😭
    Oh: I even thought of buying the 18-50mm Sigma lens for 60fps recording. But 18 equals 27mm cropped and 24mm has become the minimum for me... even though the zoom end is quite nice at 50/75mm. Light, compact... dang. 🤤

    So I narrowed this lens down to buy, but that wobble is very worrying. My video shooting is always on a gimbal, do you think it'll be fine?

    • @fatherofbirds
      @fatherofbirds  7 месяцев назад +1

      If it’s always on a gimbal you are fine. And if you weren’t just turn off the ibis, that works very well.

  • @frankluo230
    @frankluo230 Год назад +1

    I still think IBIS + enhanced EIS is the best with 16mm you get about 22mm fov but glider smooth with barely any wobble when filming yourself.

    • @fatherofbirds
      @fatherofbirds  Год назад +1

      A lot of it is situational, I think I’d go for what you are saying if I was behind the camera. But if you walking and vlogging just the EIS seems to do a good just at minimizing jitters and giving it a more organic shake that to me seems less distracting then wobbles plus you get to stay a little wider and don’t have to extend your arm as far.

    Does someone know this warp/wooble issue still occurs after s5ii update? I think to get this lens

    The corner wobble is pretty strong. I’m never a fan of ibis full stop.

    When i see footage of the 16-28 at 20mm with ibis, i see so much wobbles but when looking at the kit lens 20-60 at 20mm with ibis, there's almost no wobbles at all. Any idea why?

    • @fatherofbirds
      @fatherofbirds  Год назад +1

      I'm really not kind in these test. I walk hard and bounce around. If you walk with any amount of elegance you wouldn't see it at 20mm.

    Thank you!
    I'm currently debating between this and the S Pro 16-35. Cost aside, I'd prefer the S Pro, but the f4 is a real hang up for me. If you were photographing fast moving objects (young family running around in the evening, or night time action sports) would you go for this because of the f2.8, or stick with the S Pro f4 (assuming price wasn't a factor)?

    • @fatherofbirds
      @fatherofbirds  7 месяцев назад +1

      I probably wouldn’t film sports with the wide angle but all in all sports are typically lit up pretty well.
      The extra zoom to 35mm is probably more important for anything fast moving. Sharpness is there on both but think of it like a choice between a 24-105 f4vs a 24-70 2.8.
      Good lighting in most cases go with the zoom over the f stop but if it’s low light then get the 2.8.

    Did the firmware update for the lumix 24-70 improve anything? Does it have a native advantage over the Sigma art?

    • @fatherofbirds
      @fatherofbirds  Год назад

      Slightly an advantage, more on the contrast based bodies but these knew bodies it preforms just as good maybe a little worst but nothing I felt was worth not using.

      Auto focus is on point now though with the third party options, so I’m on board in return for shutter angle, custom lut monitoring, and the other pro video features. 🖤

      With the strength of the ibis when it is wider than 25 mm yes. I recommend using just electronic when you are that wide.
