Today we take a trip over to the United Kingdom, in the shadow of Big Ben, and tear into a 1973 MG Midget that's been parked for over 40 years. It's been sitting in a shop, covered by some rags and forgotten for years. We drag it out, look it over and dive into trying to get it started. Will it start? Is it junk? Can I put it back together?Tune in and find out!

Hope it's popcorn worthy! Thanks for watching!
Nicely done!
Thanks! It was a head scratcher there for a bit. Thanks for watching!
Awesome sir!!!!
Thanks for watching man!
A tamed oil slick hahaha
It was bad! Lol. Thanks for watching!
Got me a cold drink ready too see this old girl run 💪
Maybe get two drinks and make it twice as interesting? 🤔
They're dead simple to work on. You could completely disassemble it, pull the engine, tranny, rebuild both, fix all the rust, prime, paint and reassemble for a few grand and have a nice running little car. The Midgets are coming up in value too, even that one from your yard could be saved. Just don't ask me if I want it, I already have 2 that are in worse shape taking up room in the garage :)
They are both still here. This one still taking up garage space. Lol. I'll likely just sell them to somebody who appreciates them a bit more than I do. I'm sure at least this one will be saved. It's at least basically complete. Thanks for watching!
Just found you mainly because I am working on a 65 Midget. They are fun little cars but not for everyone.
They are pretty much a nightmare to work on. Lol. I still have both of those kicking around. Don't know what I'll do with them. Thanks for coming by and checking out the channel. Appreciate it!
It will be a fun car for the right person! Great job getting her running!
Somebody will love it! It runs pretty decent. Thanks for watching!
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
You don't need oil slows the engine down lol
Oil is overrated for sure, but some what helpful occasionally. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for what you do sir
Appreciate it, thanks for watching!
Half the fun is making these run. Or driving my wife nuts with another MG or Nash... running really well for being parked so long.
It really does run well for how long it sat. I expected more of a fight honestly. Irritated me that I couldn't get the distributor to sit there right, but it worked out in the end. Thanks for watching Roy!
Cool project for someone. 👍
Somebody will enjoy it, probably somebody short. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Result👍on ebay over here in 🇬🇧that would sell for around £300-£500.
I don't know what that equals in US dollars, but I'm pretty sure it means I lose money. 🤣
@@MyLegacyGarage if you love cars you never make any money🤷🤣🤣🤣
@@phillmcaverty truth!
Gas tank on ladder "it should fine"
I'd like to point out that nothing burst into flame. 😎 Lol. Thanks for watching!
Oh that looks so fun to work on NOT LOL great video Chris
It really was not. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
Excellent video also 👌 👏 👍 😀 be worth fixing up for sure also runs pretty nice too and hope someone buy too!
Thanks for watching man!
These are nice cars. But for guys like me (6'3") they're a little difficult to fold myself into. 👍🤣🤣🤣
My height isn't as big a deal as my fatness and oldness. 🤣
Wow , can’t believe you got that old GM running! Is there anything you can’t get to run😊
Yeah the one with a stuck engine! 🤣 Thanks for watching!
cool video bud and something British 👍 Good diagnostics with the timing
I mean Google helped a bit, a lot, it basically drew a diagram for me... Lol. Thanks for watching!
I've got marshmallows waiting for the bonfire....
That was for the Ford.... 🤣 Thanks for watching!
The Haynes manual has a misprint and guides you to put it in 180 degrees wrong
Looks like somebody followed the manual to the letter. 🤣 Thanks for watching!

Nice project! Always thought these were cool cars. Pretty sure oil leaks came standard. 😂
They are neat, but I'm definitely too old and fat for em 😂 Thanks for watching!
I want it how much $ u want
Shoot me an email or message me in Instagram and we can discuss it. They are both still sitting around taking up space. Lol. Thanks for watching!
You know, this being 2021 and all, you might have to start calling this car the "MG Little Person" or "MG Vertically Challenged Gender Non-Binary Transportation Apparatus"...
Joking aside, glad you got it running. Shame you're selling it, but if you don't fit, you can't drive it, so no point keeping it!
I'm too damned big to get in it for sure. Well, I can get it, but out is a disaster. Lol. I don't about all the politically correct stuff, I just read midget on the side! 🤣
@@MyLegacyGarage Yeah these cars are tiny, that Fiat 124 Spider my Dad had made these things look roomy. It was a sight watching him get out of that car, and driving it with the top up wasn't happening hahaha. We joked that he'd gladly be about 5'11" instead of 6'4" to drive that car... If it was brand new, canary yellow, and came with a 20 something Italian woman in the passengers seat hahaha.
