I have the Remington flat iron and I love it. Bought it after my expensive iron from Hot Tools died on me after only owning it for a year. That was around 2013/2014; I still have the Remington iron and it still works wonderful. Paid $100 for my Hot Tools iron that lasted a year, paid like $20 for my Remington iron that has lasted me several years.
Edit: BTW I have coarse curly hair (3a/3b). I always blow dry first before flat ironing.

Burn myself on open flat irons. Over the
Years I have told myself I must purchase a straightener with titanium plates. I have tried several .. first, they all fail because they don’t have a lock and 2nd when it comes to straightening it does amazing!!

Maybe it’s my hair type but I’ve loved Remington hot tools but I guess my hot tools are pretty diverse in brands. Could also be placebo effect with this one, I broke down and paid the money for a chi about 5 years ago and it still works as well as the day I got it. I had to use my old flat iron a little while ago since I forgot my chi at a friends house and there’s a noticeable difference with chi coming in first

I was going to buy the purple Remington tenporarily to use until I got my new place and then buy a new one but I no longer see it. Trying to find a good substitute for no more than $20 but my boyfriend wanted to buy one in the 30s so as to not quit working on me fast. I was using Red By Kiss Wet To Dry Style hot comb, but it only works on me when hair is wet. Maybe too wide tooth comb to work with my hair already dry, but my dominant shoulder deteriated so it hurts to much to use the steaightening comb to dry my hair so been air drying. The original Red By Kiss in the Gold Series was awesome. Though only could be used on dry hair, the teeth was prolly more narrow so I was able to straighten roots perfectly with right hair products and such.
I am now waiting for my Remington Shine Argan Oil & Keratin per my boyfriend request. He tried to talk me into it at Walmart, but it was 2" and though I could use a two inch, I find my hair does better with one inch ( one time I had 3/4" flat iron by accident years ago but did better than one inch ). I got Hairitage, but read awful reviews on buttons coming off and going kaput in less than 6 months, no thanks to that for $39 with tax, so not even having opened it, I returned it. I got the Remington one my boyfriend tried to get me online but 1 inch. It has almost perfect review of 4.8 stars. I have a feeling I will thank him!
But it will be a back up chances are one day after the move I will want to try Tymo if still at Target's. I have a serious thing about rather use hot comb instead of flat iron, but I will still use flat iron plenty since this one my boyfriend bought me instead of me buying it.

I have been watching lots of GRWM videos for 70 plus,,and it’s fab for them, but I have a different situation. I would love to go to an Ulta or Sephora. I’ve never been! I would like to get the mist setting spray, under eye concealer is it? And so much more...but I need to rob a bank first! Lol. If you see this and Andre will keep lil Em for a bit...I would love it! Oh wait, they can come too! But not a camera day ok?! Also would you charge a fee, or do I get the family discount, since I have been addicted and watching you since you were in the say 3k digits. All the while signing my messages as your self appointed honorary AunTy from KY💕Tere. Lol. I forwarded you daily to all I knew and told them to join. Lordy I hope they did, and told a friend! Have you hit your mil yet? I just looked and can’t remember. Lol. Memory is the first to go! You can reach me easiest on Messenger @ Teresa Kiner. A no is acceptable, but will be so sad. I could run a back ground check for you! Lol. Three cops were at my house to see me two days ago...it was the sweetest thing anyone has EVER done for me! I stayed stoic until they left, then I bawled my eyes out from their kindness, and 5he kindness of the bank manager whom was concerned for my safety and welfare! I’m fine, but my DD son was so scared, he confessed to every thing he has be doing (bad according to me) and some by law since coved hit! He is a different man/child, and it’s like a different home atmosphere here! We’ve lived here since January and have yet to unpack!!! I instinctively knew we would have to split and go our separate ways. But now we are writing a lease agreement with each other. Things are looking up. Life story time! Just letting you know, I’m a normal human 57 year old widowed mom of a 31 yr old DD man/teen. I was so thrilled that y’all moved closer to me, as a trek to Florida to see you if possible, could never happen! I’m shutting up now! .please let me know your answer either way, ok? Hugs from KY 💕Tere

I'm wondering about them working on different types of hair. I purchased one from Amazon 6 years ago called Herstyler Tourmaline for $21 after my CHI gave out. It works ok but I do have to pass more than twice because I like my hair without any wavy or kinky hair. I have a lot of hair and the way I describe it is that I inherited EVERY ancestors hair type from thin to thick, kinky to straight. I use get LOTS of comments how long, full and straight my hair was. I would shush people and say they're gonna jinx me because it took a lot of work to make it look like that. Now, my hair is usually in a bun. I can't spend a lot of time on it. I'm disabled with spine nerve damage so I can't fix my hair like I use to and I use to get my hair done but the older I get the harder it gets to be in those chairs.
What would be a decent iron that takes one pass for a really flat, straight, no wave/curl/kink left behind? When I do one pass, it gets the brown/lt brown thin/normal, straight/wavy ones but leave the thick, kinky black ones and they tend to literally stick out. The original CHI most of the time required 2 passes. I use to use a 1.5" curling iron back in the mid 90s. Now I use that flat iron and use a 2 n 1 one inch that I use just to add a curl. I was hoping to do both but the flat iron wasn't up to par.
Does anyone know of any large bore wand that can do both? I also have tried the straightener brushes like the TYMO, that takes out the frizz but doesn't flatten straight my hair. Just wanting to see if anyone has hair like mine and what works for them. And this is going to sound stupid, but I don't like to have body. I already have A LOT of hair that already adds thickness. That's why I like to flatten it as much as I can without all the hard work. I may be asking and wanting what I shouldn't. I don't want to shell out a lot because what I have isn't broke...but if it's reasonably priced under $50, will help me to do something that'll help me to feel better about myself without regretting it the next day cuz of the after effects, then, yeah, I'd buy.

It seems the highest temp for the Remington is on 410, not 450... I have very course hair which requires a high heat to lock in that straight style 😕

I love my remington the most, maybe because of my hair type.

May I ask what is your hair type? Curly by any chance? I'm just trying to figure out if the Remington would work for me. I have very curly hair and lots of it! (3b, I guess?)

I have the Revlon and I do not like it. Seems like the Remington you can do 2 different things. Curl and straighten. The Revlon seems to pull on my hair

I'm shocked!! Wish I would have known about this a year ago! I wouldn't have spent $100 on the Lange! Although I do like my Lange but I could've spent $90 less with the same quality 😒
