Tip. When testing heat straighteners use the back of your hair. If anything goes wrong (heaven forbid) you can hide it. Btw, you have gorgeous curly hair.
Y’all, the Amika one is NOT meant for straightening. It is actually for smoothing/touching up already straight hair. It is not designed to straighten curly hair.
It was literally the best result. She can tame the frizz with other products, but honestly even with frizz it looked much more beautiful and natural than the rest (not to mention it didn’t fry her hair as much)!!
Idk who was telling her to do her whole head with the last one, they obviously don’t care if you go bald cause that thing was literally frying her head, she did so many passes do it to at least dry up and it still barely got it straight.
The revlon actually works well, your hair just has to be as wet as it would be before a regular blowout. It’s a blowout brush. Also the other ones don’t give silky smooth straight hair, you’d still have to go over it with a flat iron, that’s double the heat and not worth it.
Better off with Red By Kiss Wet To Style or Tymo or some other quality modern hot comb. Red By Kiss one I would not recommend if your hair is not of Black texture. The teeth on it are wide. When I used it, I had chemically straightened hair and my hair was too thin for it, so it not got my roots and needed to flat iron afterwards. That is, those who rather use a hot comb than a flat iron, but yeah, much better a flat iron than hot brushes.
I'm a lil sad that they made her do her whole head on the last one. 😞 We could tell from the first strip that it would be a struggle and made her uncomfortable. Hopefully her curl pattern will be okay after 3 days of straightening!
I have the same thing (tbh my hairs not as curly as hers but just as thick- maybe thicker) and I use it on 370. It works wonders for my hair like it takes 15-20 min to get it really straight but hers was like FRYING and that was kind of anxiety inducing for me because mine doesn’t do that at all. The amount of smoke coming out of that was unreal and I’m starting to think it may have been defective…
I'm amazed they made her straightened her hair for THREE DAYS IN A ROW! No wonder she kept getting worse results the next day. They should have waited one week at least. Also, she was very scared and took the brush out when she saw out "smoke". Seeing vape come out is not that bad since to straighten your hair you need to take out water from it and reposition it (you are changing the structure inside by taking water out of it). Hence why when it rains it goes back to frizzy. But since she took the brush out too fast she was actually doing more damage to her hair. If you take it out before it is done then you will have to go again, but this time there won't be enough water and the brush can't change it by much. I blame the damage was made by three days of heat plus bad application from the user, which made the results bad at the end.
Thank you! I have naturally extremely extremely frizzy curly hair and I always see people on youtube testing out straighteners when they already have mostly straight hair, so this is so helpful for me.
I feel like she's confusing a hair dryer to a straightner. Like i have 4c hair type and I use the revlon to do my blowouts. The only thing i don't like about it is the bristles. I feel like it pulls my hair.
@@phoebe109. like depending on your type it'll be just fine. Like what I said is only a personal preference. I originally wanted the normal rectangle brush but I got the oval one as a Christmas present so I really couldn't complain 😅
I didn’t think the revlon should’ve been included it’s a completely different brush ! Or try with completely damp hair. It’s really meant to be used that way, it would’ve had better results.
Yeah your hair is supposed to be a little damp and you will definitely get the best results of your hair is damp! I have one at home, and my hair literally was so soft and it was such a good ratio of both straightened and volumized hair
I’m glad you tried this. Some advise for the next time you use the Revlon brush, always divide your hair into 4 big sections, start at the back & use smaller subsections from the big one. My hair is very similar to yours & I have a brush like that, I always use. I always start from the back in sections of about half an inch. Hair should be no more than 85% dry /15% wet when using any of this products
after buying the revlon air brush, i haven't used a traditional hair dryer and that was 3 years ago. i have since purchased 3 additional ones as gifts to all the girlfriends I've raved about it to and they have been converted. best thing since sliced bread
I have the revlon blow dryer brush but in the actual flat brush and I live for it. Seriously, I have owned 4 because I used the heck out of them haha. I will never ever own another dryer or straightener. My husband who has seen me change my hair so many times and never notices anything anymore actually said wow, how did you get your hair so straight the first time I used it. You are right, it's always on sale too. It might not be everyone's favorite but I can't brag about it enough
The Revlon brush is a blow dryer. I have it and love it! Should be used on wet and and small sections. My hair comes out perfectly straight and smooth every time. I have curly hair.
***Attention Curly Girls***: If you hair has Type 3 or 4 curls you should BLOW OUT your hair with a blow dryer before you use the straightening tool. You risk kinks in the straightend hair or breakage.

Hair ends be like: we stick to your face, we are hard to straighten, we make you look stupid sometimes we dont, when you dye the end we get weird and we dont stay straight for long
Great video, the noise on your hair with the amika was because your hair wasn’t dry enough so the hot plates are drying/burning the water droplets ... in other words it could be burning it a bit. The smoke is fine but watch out for it. I have used regular irons for long time and have tried hair drying tools like steamers but they are not meant for wet wet hair.
Thanks for your review! To be fair, though, the brushes you used aren’t all true “straightening brushes” and shouldn’t necessarily be compared side by side.
