I like that Bruce paid for Clark's funeral.
Pretty sure he already paid for it, before he fought Clark.
He'll send him a bill later.
It made no sense
they buried superman and they buried clark kent, what doesnt make sense is the fact supermans human identity should have been all over the daily planet
Wanna know who paid, Martha? Follow the rich white man.
"If you seek his monument, look around you" Beautiful :')

Batfleck is moulded by death, the death of his parents leads to him becoming batman. The death of Robin and other loved ones takes its toll on him, he loses his way, is fuelled by anger and then Superman's death impacts him profoundly and leads to his redemption/return to being the Batman of old.
Idc what people say I love Batfleck and Batman's redemption Journey arc in BvS was wonderful to watch.
I don't know...It would be nice to have a movie trilogy to feel in those details about Afflecks Batman rather than just environmental story telling about what he's been through

@@giovannidanesin4193 Hopefully they allow Zack to finish his DC Universe because this was the first time someone even attempted to bring all these heroes together like this in live-action and I thought he did a great job.
I do too, especially when you see how he is so full of bitterness and anger, acting like he GETS things as he said when fighting Clark initially when Clark was trying to get his help to save his mother. It shows how far Bruce lost his way, until he saw just how far he fell and had to stop himself from falling further.
It would've been AMAZING to see his come up and in-betweens. 😭 we've missed 20 years worth of his story

Bruce Wayne mourning words on Superman's death moved me. "We fight, we kill, we betray one another, but we can rebuild..." In a way of renewing my faith on Humanity; no matter the problems and issues the world bombards us with in modern times. There will always be hope and those who protect and cherish it with great value no matter the circumstances. Just my interpretation of the quote is to me, really.
my favorite quote too
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FOR ETERNITY AND INFINITY.
And that was exactly why Batman was totally different in JL and the sacrifice is why everybody now honors Superman and referes to him as the beacon of hope. People call these things plotholes cause clearly they didn't pay any damn attention in BVS. JL is still a poorly made film though
I really like that

My obsession with this movie doesn't seem to have any possible end ever! I still don't understand why it wasn't that popular?!!!!
NoOne Alive That is the dumbest explanation I have ever heard.
The theatrical cut left out significant plot points, leaving people scratching their heads at the film's plot.
Abby shepherd people are still talking about a year and a half since its release.
Abby, don’t let the herd mentality get you down. The film is #54 in the all time box office. If you remove animated films (different market, different box office dynamics since basically every parent drops their kid off at the big summer/winter break Pixar film), BvS is somewhere in the mid-40s. That means a lot of folks saw it. The issue is it’s a divisive film. Which is a good thing to me. People still talk about it and will continue to do so. Most other films above it (MCU films, big franchise sequels, etc) are quickly disposed of. No one talks about or cares about most of those films.
One of my favorite movies ever
You did It Greatly Henry . New actors will come and go But you'll be always my Superman .

He was the best. I am old enough to have watched the first superman on TV as a kid. Henry is the best. The absolute best.
"Civilisation on the WAYNE...MANORs out the window." - what a brilliant line! Why the hell was this not in the theatrical version.
So lex was basically saying he knew who batman was right?

2:35 "If you seek his monument - look around you."
The original quote dates from 1723. It comes from the epitaph on the crypt of Sir Christopher Wren, the English architect who contributed to the redesigning of London following the 1666 fire which destroyed two-thirds of the city. His crypt is in St. Paul's Cathedral - which he designed. Translated from the original Latin, here is the full epitaph:
"Here in its foundations lies the architect of this church and city, Christopher Wren, who lived beyond ninety years, not for his own profit but for the public good. Reader, if you seek his monument - look around you. Died 25 Feb. 1723, age 91."
This info just made this scene even deeper...
I realised that this movie is like a tight slap to the vanity of people in the world for which in a sense they didn't like it
From "How many good guys are left", "Criminals are like Weeds", "Everything falls" to " Men are Still Good" This is what called character development. Batman from being an brutal, murderous criminal to the real hero is what this scene is about. He failed Superman's code which kind of led to his death, Now Bruce is trying to correct his sins by doing what is right.
And WB can correct their sins by restore Snyder verse
@@Uncleprime4165 Yeah!!
Yeah. It shows too how Bruce also failed himself for not listening to Alfred, and allowing his paranoia and anger blind him which made it easy for Lex to manipulate him, yet seeing how Clark didn't care if he died, and seeing he had people who loved him when Lois came to stop Bruce from killing him as well as mentioning why Clark said "Martha" making Bruce see he'd been doing what Joe Chill or whoever it was that killed his parents did to him by tearing families apart with his actions, and how seeing Clark's selflessness, even if he knew he might die, it reminded him of the good he once believed in before all the losses he had suffered broke him for so long.
Batman should never ever be a killer. This movie fails the fundamental, important, crucial part of Batman’s character. If you think otherwise idk what to tell you.
I never fail to be moved by this scene. Affleck's monologue in conjunction with the people of Metroplis gathered around Superman's memorial gets me every time.

When Bruce says “Men can rebuild” that is actually true. Humans have a great history to learn from Suffering. 9/11 is the best example of humans learning from suffering. If suffering never happened in the past then the world would be extremely different.
But Zack Snyder was brilliant in the philosophy aspect of the movie. Simply brilliant.
Symbolism. It helps appreciate the films more. Man Of Steel is great. BVS would be better if they had shown the Ultimate Edition.

@@aneutralguy5606 I wouldn't say BVS is a masterpiece. It's not that bad but it's not that good. I don’t know where the praise started. How do we go from hating on it when it first came out, then all of a sudden a small niche following now praises without any justification valid reason behind this movie. Regardless, at the end of the day, the general public and the majority of the audience still despises and mocks this and his other Dc movies for it’s overly complicated story, tries to cram in so much to the point where it has no direction, the characters have little to no development or arc behind them, the casting of Lex Luthor was a disaster, and the list goes on.
"Man made a world where standing together is impossible."
I get the feeling that's going to play a part in JL. They are at each other's throats and Batman is only making things worse with his visceral type of leadership. Diana gives into what she said in BVS and the others part ways just when the world needed them most. Superman returns a changed man and inspires everyone to rally together for the good of the world. Man may have made a world where standing together is impossible. But a SUPERMAN will make it possible.
***** The Avengers were manipulated by Loki into fighting each other, hence his admitting to Tony that "pissing off every single one of them" was "the plan".
***** Yeah, but that was BEFORE they were all assembled. In JL, they'll actually be all assembled (except Superman) so that they could all find the mother boxes and protect Earth together...
***** That's the point. If Superman were still alive, they'd follow him without question, as he sets the strongest example due to his unshakable compassion and care for others. With Batman, it's a whole other story. He's a brutal vigilante with questionable methods (even if he is a changed man now), which will play a part in how he leads the team. Aquaman and Cyborg may not be willing to listen to him and WW may have agreed to work with him, but I doubt she'll find his way of doing things appealing. Flash willingly joins Batman, but I wonder how he'd feel when he actually sees what kind of hero Batman is and what lengths he'll go to. Batman will have to earn their trust and work to get them to listen. Superman wouldn't have that problem, which is why he'll be the one to make sure the team STAYS together. If that's the case, it'd be pretty loyal to the comics in a lot of ways...
No the JL isn't the shitty Avengers
The avengers fight each other in every film . the first one , AOU and CW

Justice League was always going to be lighter, Chris Terrio said that before this movie even came out
l agree. And to everyone saying that DC already decided to be lighter, people was getting on DC for being too dark after Man of Steel. Even before BvS and other DC movies came out, people were comparing it to Marvel.

This scene really shows the grittiness that happens to most real world heroes. They are commonly misunderstood and accused for misconduct all the time. People don't really realize their mistakes until after they mess up and it's too late to fix it with their heroes leaving them. The beginning of this movie showed the world constantly doubting Superman with their cynicism despite all of the good Clark was doing and unintentionally making him feel insecure and doubtful that he was doing the right thing being Superman. The people of Earth have grown world weary with mistrust and cynicism that actual real world heroes are much harder to find and even if they are, they're not treated as actual heroes and instead as crazy for just trying to do what's right simply because it needs to be done. The government and the world only learnt from their mistakes after Clark sacrificed himself and they all deeply regret how much crap they put him through after reflecting on Superman's actions and good deeds, with them finally understanding how much of a true hero he actually was. Seriously people of the world I know that there is reasons for doubt in all of us, but learn from the mistakes of these people to appreciate the heroes in our lives while we have the chance because unlike them once a hero is gone it's not like we can just bring them back with a mother box.
The irony here is extremely beautiful. People hated Zack's movies when he was there just the same way the people in supes world did and then once he died they understood him and felt sad. They same way now people come to realise how great the world Zack Snyder built once it was gone and now are crying about it. How ironical and sad

How are we supposed to feel for him when he’s so poorly developed and mishandled from his persona, his fundamentals and his core values as a character. It seems to me that Zack thinks that he does understands the characters he’s doing, but in reality he doesn’t.
The father who spoke at his funeral was the same guy who clark talked to in the church in man of steel
Some of you haters are just heartless it's said
She's says the don't know how to honor him, except as a solider. Well at least they are. They chose to honor their hero the best they could. Shows just how beloved he was to the people of Earth.
the BAtfleck is pretty fucking scary
the guy who at 0:18 told Martha that the funeral was paid for is Pete Ross (the kid who bullied Clark on the bus in man of steel)
2:18 we can do better, we will, we have to.
3:07...prisoner ac231940.......ac? action comics? 23? issue 23? 1940...action comics issue 23 in 1940...Luthor's first appearance.
I absolutely love this cinematography.
The ultimate edition of Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, should've been shown on premium cable.
My favorite part of this scene is Bruce and Diana:
Both are people who have lost someone they loved and as a result they have lost hope in the world, both are shaped by death, the death of someone they love, and as a result they have both cut themselves off from this world that has taken so much from them and made them suffer so much, creating a wall around them to isolate and separate them from the world they consider beyond salvation, one way to show this is how they watch Superman's funeral from afar, obviously there's the question of their identity, but I love the way they they're alone apart from everyone else, isolated from everyone else, as they talk about their own problems, it's as if they're both talking to a reflection of themselves in a mirror. A warrior in a war she deems hopeless. And a soldier on a mission he deems hopeless. When Diana says that the world of men built a world that was impossible for them to be together, she is just saying things that Bruce believed, both are discussing with themselves their beliefs and motivations, like in a mirror.
But both regain hope again thanks to Superman, and both begin to heal again, but they don't heal alone but together, for the first time in many years they don't feel alone anymore.
this scrpt is like the best...I love life..this movie makes me want to do more for poep;le in society.......
batman should have been like, "why so serious" at the end
2:50-3:00 is one of my favorite underrated parts of the ending. Batfleck recognizes the urgency and what is coming. Oh and that riff of his theme playing in the background is seriously one of the many great batman themes.
Nothing makes me happier than binging Batman vs. Superman Ultimate Edition comments and finally seeing all the love this movie deserves. I know there is some pacing issues because WB interfered, but the movie in it of itself is spectacular, probably one of my all time top 3 superhero movies.
