I like the fact that one of the crewmen 'saved his life' when that falling cage nearly crushed him. You could see the appreciation on Clark's face.
Humanity, a super strength!
That's my favorite part! I've worked a bunch of industrial jobs and all those hard nosed people that call you a dummy are looking out for you at the end of the day. He saw that the dude was a good man.
Tôi đã tưởng rằng không ai có thể đẩy ngã được Superman
how did he manage to push Clark ? isn't he supposed to be unmovable just like in the bar scene ?
@@ptit-monsieur it seems to be consistent when Clark is paying attention or not. He knew the guy in the bar was gonna do something while the sailor caught him off guard and was helping him.
@@ptit-monsieurthat's because he didn't know how to fully used his power. He was still learning. If he known... Trust me that guy would be hurt because he hit a giant steel pole.
literally the greatest Kal-El we have EVER had, and they FIRED HIM
Also great in the Witcher, and they FIRED HIM.
Why was he out of line off set?
@@mitagalvin2488 no he wanted to honour and respect the witcher law and the show runners wanted to go off script and do their own thing
@WNShadow814 true man of steel
Amen to that, brother.
How are so many in the comments missing : It is really well done , because it is not the weight he cant hold ,it is the structure he is standing on can not support the force and mass of him and the tower. He does not know how to fly yet
man of steel is hands down the best superman movie ever made
He also hadn't really unlocked his abilities here- you can see he is struggling with this, whereas superman of latter years wouldn't sweat at this.
I'm more worried about his fishing boat crew who are going to go back assuming they lost a few member overboard who died at sea lol
It’s also the probably the heaviest weight he’s ever tried, up until now he’s been keeping everything a secret so there’s a little bit of let me push harder than I ever have
Came here for this answer.
@@hamsterminator Superman never really "unlocks" his abilities. His ability centers around his alien form being supercharged by the "yellow sun".(although in reality, our star is actually mostly white with a turquois tint if viewed from far enough away) Superman literally gets more powerful the longer he stays in our solar system soaking up radiation, which is why it is always a juggle dampening his powers to not just break cities walking around. His power scaling is literally just "time".
The little detail that I'll always love in this scene is when the tower does fall, you see it pivot over him rather than just fall on him.
2:05 "Is that shot really necessary?"
"Yes, yes it is."
IT WAS 😏🖤
Every once in a while i come back to watch just this one clip because its one of the best secnes filmed of superman. Henry did an absolute beast of a job

I wish Henry became the next 007 .. that would be sooo great

nah. they got a woman for that.
@@monkadelic13Not Even, His Character in the 2015 film “The Man from UNCLE”, was awesome. Proof enough he would’ve been a great 007.
Absolutely!

Henry ripping the door open and standing there with fire going up his body is the coolest thing I love in this movie.

Wondering what the survivors told everyone after the rescue. A man covered in fire crushed the steel door open and their Doc tell them they were traumatised and hallucinated😅
Probably the same doctor from Terminator 😂
They'd probably tell everyone they were saved by an angel, since the Coastguard crew saw it as well it would be hard to call the naked fireproof man a hallucination. Then a few years later they'd all be like, "oooooh it was Superman but before he was Superman," Either that or it was The Emperor of Mankind in his travelling hobo days.
@@fix0the0spade, That's what I wish they'd have done in this movie was show more of him wandering around the world looking to find himself a place among the humans and doing deeds like this so that the world would have a sense of who he was when he stepped out as Superman. And I think it would have been cool if he'd met a young Bruce Wayne who was doing the same thing after he became an adult and was trying to figure out what he should do with himself.
same as the kids in the bus that should have drowned when he was a kid - military has known about him for a very LONG time
@AmitRedkar1 i'm wondering what the hell his fishing crew thinks
Nothing in the entire history of Superman says who he is more than this scene.
I'm trying to turn some historical issues that are on your cell phones everyday these are actual events and please be aware and your mind set on being strong aliens and other life-forms exist behind our eyes and next to the camera lens on your phone off to your mind
I also love the image of him standing beneath the gravity beam of the World Engine.
you're completely wrong
@@G.R-w9w He's not a guy who would use his power to save people? Costume or no costume? Then who is he?
The greatest scene of who Superman is was Clark telling Lois "Superman is what I can do. Clark, is who I am."
Standing there screaming holding a fcuking burning oil rig up is one of the most emotional super hero moments I have ever seen. Its just raw, from ripping a door open whilst in a pair of pants covered in flames to taking on thousands of tons and incredible heat even when you don't know if you can take those kinds of things was just awe inspiring.
I like how SM give a wee smile at the guy at 0:40 because he tried to save him even tho he said something cheeky he still gave him a little smirk i really like this version of SM
That was him showing respect to another good man like himself
I love how he allowed himself to be saved by the guy, because he was definitely was enough to notice the cage falling and the guy aint got a chance to actually budge him
He was distracted.
Bet you thought your sad silly comment would get more likes 🤣😔how sad for you toxicballbags
I also think he was distracted and didn't notice the cage falling. Doing this to let himself be saved only gets the other guy in danger. There is really no point in doing that.
1:23 Henry asking hey man where is the Saloon I need a trim 😂
You know when Superman revealed himself to the world the guys from the oil rig were like, "Well, that explains a few things!"
Bwaa ha ha ha ha! So true!
Oy vey that's what I thought too, Rabbi Schlomo! Shalom!
No, no, no. You don't get it. These guys went crazy and started drinking themselves into depression and were put on medication, because when they told people about the guy who saved them, people would just lie to them. So, imagine the reaction of all of those people who laughed at the guys on the oil rig when Superman revealed himself to the world? 😂😂😂
Mesías ya llegó Jesucristo
Is that a flag of freedom that kill children and mother
2:00 - , The change in tone of music when Clark leaps and impacts with the steel supports always give me chills. Its some real superman type sh!t!
It’s crazy for a movie that’s 4,065 days old it’s still one of Superman Best Movies
look at the face of Kal-El after the guy pushes him from getting hit by the falling cage, his facial expression seems to be saying happily " you humans aren't so bad " , this scene is like watching a father being proud of the accomplishments of his son.
The early parts of Man of Steel were riveting. All of the scenes where he’s anonymous were gold.
Dont make other characters tell me to root for him, just show me what he is/does and I will root for him myself. Story telling at its best.
MOS was incredible just incredible, it is the BEST Superman film ever created, it shows so many different sides to Clark the trails and tribulations of the strongest being on the planet growing up, trying to blend in, finding himself all the while he experiences the good and bad sides to humanity and sometimes showing such restraint like not saving his father from that Tornado because hisfather told him not too so Clark didn't reveal himself to early on was really moving, it also helps to have an incredible actor like Henry Cavill really become one with the character mentally not just physically, even if DC fired him they can never destroy or tarnish this film any other actor they cast for Superman has to exceed Henry and I don't think thats ever going to happen.
wrong, it is not the best superman movie nor does it show so many different sides of the character
@@G.R-w9w are you gonna elaborate, or just whine about someone having a different opinion?
Is and will always be my favorite SUPERMAN. Thanks Henry. Hope you get the 007 role.
Best narrative ever! Saving people without having any words.
Man of steel was one of the best renewals of superman. I get that the superhero flick has died down. But this portrayal of superman was a really good one.
wrong, it is not a good portraial of superman
@user-io1hx1zx7d wrong, it is a good portrayal of superman
Literally the most baller entrance to open that hatch and stand there while on fire.
I completely agree, but at the same time it bugs me. Opening that door should have sucked the oxygen out of the room the firefighters were in, plus all the heat would roast them. Opening it would have harmed them, not helped them. Plus, if Supes got lit on fire in the process of getting to them that means there was no fire-free path out, so how did he get them out?
Don't you get it, it's the super wind blow @@davidstorrs
I love the story where Henry Cavill shows up at his nephew's school to prove his nephew was not lying when he said his uncle is Superman.
They have the same surname.

@OKOKOKOKOKOKOK-zn2fy he doesn't have a sister. It's all brothers and all nephews with a single niece (at least as of a video posted five years ago where he shared the story on LiveKellyAndMark or whatever the show was).
The disrespect of this movie is astonishing. This movie was amazing
This movie to this day is still getting alot of disrespect. Its a sad world we live in but hey, atleast I found someone who shares the same view of this movie.
good movie, but not a very good superman movie
@@G.R-w9w But how? Just curious, which Superman movie was better? I just happened to watch it again last night, and everything from the storyline, acting, graphics and action were on par with, what I believe, the ultimate Superman movie should be.
This movie answer it as well.
People afraid or hate what they dont understand.
this happend with this movie
I agree. This is an amazing Superman film and an amazing sci-fi film.
The scene from :40 secs when Superman acknowledges how the fisherman saved his life. Little things that the writers and director put in, well done movie.
So you are silly enough to believe that a metal crab cage would have killed him but still believe he can be set on fire, pull doors off hinges and hold a burning oil rig up? Please don't vote or reproduce.
ik theres a comment similar to this 0:40 but I just love how he gives a small gentle smile because the guy risk his life to save him knowing he could've survive that no problem. Also when the guy berated him for just standing there and Kal accepted it because he saw the mans true character thus the smile🙂
"Hey what are you doing, get on the helicopter!"
*holding off thousands of tons of debris*
"Nevermind hes fine, lets go"
Man of Steel (2013) best ever superhero movie 🍿 for me
DC forever ♥️♥️
not enough credit is given to the fisherman who risked his own life to save clark from the falling cage.
its cool seeing clark save people, but he's invincible so the stakes are low, but that fisherman guy was a hero :)
Gahhhhh I love that beard omg. Best Superman of alllll time.❤❤❤❤
I always loved this scene for the fire and the reaction of everyone. However, one thing always bugs me about EVERY Superman movie...they just can't seem to stick with the consistency of the scale of his powers. One minute he can hurl trains across continents, the next minute he's straining to keep an oil rig from falling. One minute he's travelling across the landscape at supersonic speed, the next minute he's watching the flash as time slows.
He was sort of killed but not ripped to pieces by a nuclear bomb, yet the heat and blast of the oil rig exploding knocked him out.
The oil rig is straining. Not him. Try holding something on a table while it collapses lol. Also, he cant fly yet
Don’t forget this is Superman’s origin story and he’s traveling the world to find his place and discovering who he is. It wasn’t until his first flight scene that he decides to keep testing his limits
Alright, let's look at this objectively...
Yes, he's straining to hold up the rig. Why?
Because the thing weighs at least 250,000 TONS.
Plus, it's not a balanced object meant to be held up at that location in that way. Which meant he had to use more strength to hold that bloody thing up.
Furthermore, he wasn't just holding it up. He was holding it up in such a way that it would all stay together to give the chopper time to get away.
So, holding up a massive weight that's not meant to be held together at that point while it's breaking apart around you.
And let us not forget that this was the hardest that he'd ever extended himself up to this point. This was a strain not only on his strength, but also on his body. Super-strength is all well and good, but a person with just the strength to do that would rip his muscles from his bones and then shatter his bones into powder doing that. Those stories about mothers who lift cars off of their babies don't tell you the physical toll the act takes on their bodies.
So Clark pushed his invulnerability past its previous limits to just hold the bloody thing up. And then he gets slammed and compressed by the entirety of the rig.
So, yeah, he ends up floating in the water not moving for a while as he recovers.
This is why he'll never defeat Omniman. :-)
i have always prefered Batman over Superman, but i have realized that both went through almost the same traumas, both are ready to sacrifice everything to be good rather than evil, and both are ready to do what it takes to save people .
they're both on the same level of characters but bruce did suffer more
yeah true @@G.R-w9w
How after watching that and other scenes from Man of Steel is there any question that Henry Cavill IS Superman!
and they FIRED HIM.. tells you everything you need to know about hollywood
When i see this i think the guy that tackled him had super power, how did he knock him over? it would of been like trying to tackle an elephant. Love this scene.
Thought about that too but I'm assuming it's because he let him and just rolled with it.
considering the guy in the diner pushed him a hard as he can and he didnt even budge and just cocked his head and stared him down? Ill go with this reply- script error for sure.. like that crab trap was going to do anything to him anyways except balance on his head, ALSO he was blindsided and think its a tank mentality when he knows something is coming tbh- this makes sense to me
Just asked the same question. Not hating on the scene or the movie …maybe hes able to move in super speed and rolled with it or saw it coming and allowed it….😊
@@richezratheband8978 good thinking
🤔...Maybe it was because he's being distracted with the self-imposed undercurrent labor to conceal his true identity, so as he was focused on clearing some debris off the deck, he didn't anticipate a pending perceived serious injury by another deckhand; being astutely relaxed with his already known super-abilities that rendered him a pushover in the moment.
I hope that made sense.
What I love here is that Kal-El knows his own strength and even if this guy really couldn't tackle him to the ground he allowed himself to be tackled.
One badass movie.
He is SUPERMAN!!! No one else!!!
To everyone complaining about the 'power levels'
WE GET IT.
But lets see your proposal to inject drama and conflict into a movie where the protagonist is
*checks notes*
literally Superman. Movies take liberties with the source material. its how you cram tons of lore into like 2 hours of storytelling...
That's the real superman! He tackled him! Saved him!
Imagine it this way..Someone telling you can fly and you can but no human is believing that..HE WAS AFRAID!! HE DIDNT REALIZE HOW STRONG HE WAS
Honestly this whole scene felt alot more like a more serious version of Hancock and im all for it. I would absolutely love a movie like that. The hero doing shit like this but has his own limitations so something like holding up the oil rig is actually hard for him. Idk just something id rather see than copy/paste "I can do everything"
That's something I liked about the old Fleischer Superman cartoons. Superman has to struggle sometimes!
I doubt they could have landed. The heat could have been incredible. The chopper would have gone up and no way they could have climbed those stairs.
How come is no one talking about that other guy who tackled superman to "save" him from the cage.
Bro's first instinct was to run in and save his life which, for all intents in purposes, he thought would just get squashed like any other human.
The guy on the fishing boat who tackled superman must also be a Cryptonian!
Great movie, this is the best superhero movie
My god Kal-El's chest hairs on fire 😃 Talk about a dramatic entrance
the best, the strongest and the coolest superman ever, after Christopher Reeve has passed on.
awesome scene when a man tackled superman to save him...kudos to this man..
Sometimes we may face similar kind og situations even facing trouble 3 sec save many lives the trouble may be in the form of anger anbush jealousy temptation etc

He was amazing, and still my fave from all the others. Other Superman movies have that nostalgia, but love this one soo damn much. Some studios just don’t know what they have…. Well they think what may sell vs what ppl actually want.
I loved that he got "beat" by the structure. He was learning working adapting... Not winning.
Yes, what the hell were they 🤔 thinking? Yes, the greatest Superman/Kal-El we'll have ever had, and they fired him... Disgraceful......
The only human that was able to pushed Superman off his feet and into the floor.
Great advertisement for Dockers relaxed fit pants. Now with more fireproofing.
The one the only man of steel, they can't replace him with anyone else. Nobody can wear those shoes.
The Best qnd better movie of Superman for me

After Christopher reeve, hes the best superman ever. Brandon youth was good but cavill is the best superman.

❤🤍💙 you #HENRY CAVILL 1 Septillion times.
for me the best superman movie ever...great intro and the rest..a well let the experts diside
They nailed Superman with this movie.
I've seen this scene so many times and I've only just noticed something. There's not much to see, but I swear at 0:26, his arms start to go up ready to catch the cage. And the guy got in the way which is why his arms wrapped around him. I don't think he was thinking in the moment "What should I do here to appear normal." If he was thinking that, he had more than enough time to jump out the way at a normal, human speed. I think he went off instinct and was about to catch it.
The greatest Superman weve had since Christopher and they fired him. Then they wonder why Marvel is better then DC.
Get it Kal-El ! That’s what I call power!
0:27 That's impossible.. How can anyone be so strong to push Superman...
Perhaps he deliberately reacted to let the guy push him so they wouldn't be hit by the box.
he still has close to the same mass as a human, just can't be moved if he doesn't want to be moved.
Smallville has a really good explanation for this, when Clark plays high school football. Basically, he uses his super quick reflexes to allow hits to look natural ands nerfs his speed and reactions to look like a normal human. He has been doing it his whole life to fit in. He wasn't caught off guard he let it happen.
Watching these clips is like finding a gem. I just watched the movie and it made me wonder why I believed the critics who rated it low when it came out.
Good thing Clark learnt how to swim, as a kid.
Even his chest hair is impervious to flame.
Respect to the guy that could tackle Superman to the ground
Superman seems to be like how my dad was. No matter what he’s lifting he’s got a grunt to do it.
One of the greatest scenes in cinema with Henri Cavil at the top in his role as Superman!!!
Henry Cavill
That dude in the yellow must be Kyrptonian to be able to tackle Superman.
I thought the first 1/3 of this movie was fantastic. I could have watched a whole movie of him going town to town, solving a situation then moving on. The moment it turned into city destroying fist fights it lost me. The grounded 'littllest hobo' story on it's own was great.
1:23 This man is literally on fire 🔥
Good superhero movie, even a good superman movie at that!!
헨리는 표정연기를 정말 잘 해요. 나는 그의 표정에서 고독과 슬픔을 보았습니다.
Best superman
best superman movie ever
Superman deserved better than Snyder's gray, washed out universe and an equally bland script.
This scene was surprised me. I heard Superman can lift tons of weight with ease. But here he struggled a lot to hold it for some time.
He hadn't figured out his full power yet,nit to mention even to fly
'Cuz it's a movie.
Well, they tend to adjust his strength to suit the story. (shrug)
He struggled because the floor below him was collapsing due to the weight of him and the object he was holding that’s why
@@rhiliofficial7908 Not really...its an inconsistency. He is either strong or not... when he takes on the weight of it he should know that it would be heavy or not....
That's a typical day for me before 9 am....once I have my coffee things really get moving.
Daamn.. he has a big foot at the end haha..
Imagine being able to summon and harness unlimited energy to your body. Must be nice.
He is my favourite and great actor superman perfect 👌 and awesome like his style he is just a mortal man but played the character like real superman awesome the man can be new 007

Fu**ing OUTSTANDING!
One of the most epic superpower reveal scenes
LE MEILLEUR SUPERMAN DE TOUS LES TEMPS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
still my favourite superhero moment of all time
I need to watch this movie again...don't even remember that part.
Bar scene: can't move the superman with full power
Oil rig scene: pushes Superman to safety from dropping fishnet.
Prolly bevause bar scebe superman was tensing against the guy,
Superman doesn't weigh a ton, he still has regular mass and if he's not braced can be "moved" if a little kid can into you from behind without you knowing it'd probably knock you off balance, but if they ran into you head first you could block them no problem
tank mentality he was blindsided. if he sees it coming he can stop it- i thought the eact same thing
I like to think that Superman’s physiology has an advanced fight or flight system. Like when trucker dude was being a dick and tried to body Kal, his mindset was “stand strong and be mindful so as to not punch this guys head off.” On the boat he’s just doing normal Clark Kent stuff and was just trying to grab up that rigging so his body was at rest. The guy could push him over. I mean obviously it could be an oversight on the part of the creators but hey why not?
Could you imagine the stories these guys would be afraid to tell? "So, how did you get off the rig?" "Well, um, you see....."
From METROPOLIS (a graphic-novel-retelling of the silent movie using characters from the Superman mythos): "But what could any mere human do in this emergency? Anyone touching those [incandescent vats] would be burnt - charred to a shriveled, blackened crisp! Did she think their 'savior' would drop down from heaven to save [it]? He could only do so if he could grab the white-hot [pipes]... and that NO man can do!"
superman is so super ... his hair doesnt even burn off by normal fire
