I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this before Freerk, but thanks for not including music in your videos. Most music I hear in videos is unnecessary and/or unpleasant. The sounds of construction are music enough.
Literally just scrolled in the comments section to say basically what you said haha. Yeah I was like "I've not really actually heard a power hammer before, despite seeing so many videos with them in because of all the damn music playing over the top."
I have watched so many of your videos, and I honestly am just awestruck with the craftsmanship of your pieces. Thanks for giving us the insight of what a true artist does
Of all the blades you've made, these 2 are my favorite. That center line through the length, the size, the sound of the hilt perfectly hitting the wood on the sheath, and the simplicity of it are just amazing. I'd love to have this set of daggers.
It's amazing to actually see a blacksmith these days normalizing their steel before doing the finishing work and grinding... my hats off to you for that. Sometimes it seems like the little details like that are left to the wayside, and it shows a lot of pride to even include you doing it in your videos.
Great job, fine craftsmanship. And I love this style of video - no stupid music, no narration - just the shop sounds. I add this to my sleep sounds. Great stuff. Thanks.
Nice to watch a master at work, love the real Damascus the care gone in to such well balanced blades. I could go on needless to say it’s always a delight to watch you and your work none of theses fake won’t to bes who insult your trade. Thank you and keep up the good work
Freerk, you know I think you're the man. I only say this for safety and nothing else. After being a furniture maker for a lot of years I mastered the table saw. The one thing I would suggest HIGHLY that you consider is a spoil block on your table saw fence when cross cutting. Just make it exactly 50mm or 2" or whatever you decide and clamp it to your fence on the near side and well away from the blade. Then set your fence that much further away in order to compensate for the block. That way when you move the material through the blade and the cut is made, the piece that was cut has NO CHANCE to launch like a missile back into your chest or face! Because wood that is stuck between the fence and a whirring blade with jagged teeth has a tendency to get ejected in a violent and instant manner. 👌 30:20 ...is what I'm talking about. - Thanks for the videos they truly inspire me to want to work with metal.
Un travail de maitre,j'adore votre travail, vos réalisation sont juste parfaite,je n'ose meme pas envisagé un prix,vu les chefs d"oeuvre ce ne doit pas etre donné!
freerk, thank you so much for posting the long videos that show so many additional processes. You are a master maker and an inspiration to us all. Joe from Texas
I end up having to do the bevels later on the grinder. I try at the anvil, but because I am a novice it is never good enough and I have to re-detail it later. More practice needed!
@tinysim Theres nothing wrong with using mechanical tools in your work. Do you only use hand tools? I f you do then I'm impressed, but if not then you really need to stfu
a smith is just someone who makes things with iron or modern steels/metals. No reason to make someone feel bad because they aren't a master smith that can forge a bevel by hand, it takes years and years to be able to do that well and consistently.
You know the Master as he sets to do his work. Calm and deliberate he proceeds apace. His mindful purpose is to forge and bend this to his will. The Artist knows a sure stroke by the ring of the hammer, bringing forth the living beauty. Spun steel wrapped 'round- its inner soul shines forth. another piece by the Master.

For a second there I was wondering why you were doing a normalizing cycle on the billet... Then you go and make a rectangular billet into a squared billet and the lightbulb turned on for me. Helps prevent delamination when forging against the grain.
I have not left a comment before, because I know you get so many. That you cannot read all of them, so Incase you do read mine. I like the fact that you make the Cases for them.
Have you ever thought of using brass somewhere in the Handel or scabbard, not that they need it, just a thought, thanks for sharing you truly amazing talent.
Freerk you are a true craftsman, and I cannot stop watching your videos. I would like to know where to see your work in person? Do you ever do knife shows? If so what country? Incredible!
I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this before Freerk, but thanks for not including music in your videos. Most music I hear in videos is unnecessary and/or unpleasant. The sounds of construction are music enough.
I find it kinda relaxing without any music honestly.
I would upvote again if I could.
you're totally right !
I couldn't agree more.

I watched this in parts, and now I watch them in whole. Thanks for the quality content.
thanks.

Не могу найти слов,чтобы выразить восхищение,поэтому любуюсь молча.Супер,супер,супер...

We need about 20 of you for the apocalypse!! Awesomely done ✔️ true craftsmanship!!
Always perfection! AWSOME!
Beautiful and symmetrical - a brilliant work.
I just wanna say that watching you work has been so therapeutic for me thank you I hope someday I can work in a blacksmiths shop it would be my dream.
Beautiful Work ❗️
I want them both ✨⚔️✨‼️

Once again, fantastic skills. Thanks for sharing your build.😎🥃
Oh so beautiful!
i think im going to accidentally fall asleep at 3am and wake up at 5am with autoplay bringing me to one of this guy's videos
for your reason I am beginning to assemble tools for the forge, I already have tongs and crooked anvil :)
freerk, thank you so much for posting the long videos that show so many additional processes. You are a master maker and an inspiration to us all.

Really best work. Awesome! Bravo ...
Echt Prachtig wat jij creeert ! Oerdegelijke Dagger ! Helemaal mijn smaak !
Beautiful....
It's nice to see a forged bevel. So many modern "smiths" spend hours on the belt sander shaping their blades.
I end up having to do the bevels later on the grinder. I try at the anvil, but because I am a novice it is never good enough and I have to re-detail it later. More practice needed!

I could watch this level of craftsmanship all day. Bravo! 👏

I LOVE the first one but both are gorgeous!
It's always nice to see someone who cleans up before moving on to the next step.
A chisel in the shape of the blade...
Thats just genius. Probably the best thing I've seen in like any of these videos
What a masterclass, want one for Christmas.
I will get one for Christmas... 😛
There is a bit of waitign around as the metal heats up to the right temperature...Nice pattern..nice balance...nice project thanks for showign.
man has talent that is one beautiful blade!
Deserve a loving heart🥰💝
You are creative .. You are an artist .. You are a professional .. Thank you from Iraq 🇮🇶✌🏻🌹
Não tenho palavras pra dizer. Você é simplesmente o melhor nessa arte que já vi.👏👏👏👏👏👏
For some weird reason I like to watch your videos before sleep. Somehow, they relax me :)
Same here

Maybe all steel swords and knives do but since orcs aren't real we just haven't found out yet
Realy good my respect. Good job.
O cara é muito bom. Produz uma arte atrás da outra. Espero um dia aprender um pouco de algumas dessas técnicas.
Would love to see a knightly sword that matched the dual daggers
Great dagger! The bottom of the sheath is also necessary to put on a metal shield. The lock on the scabbard and dagger would not fall out.
WOW! Very nice!!! Great design and the craftsmanship is one of the best!!! I would love to own one of these.....
For a second there I was wondering why you were doing a normalizing cycle on the billet... Then you go and make a rectangular billet into a squared billet and the lightbulb turned on for me. Helps prevent delamination when forging against the grain.
Excellent work top notch thumbs up 👍
Браво...шикарные клинки ...мастеру лайк ! Сколько стоит скажите !!!
You did it! You made a matching set of smallish blades! Man, they're the epitome of perfection.
Well done 👍
say that it is a master piece is not enough !

This one was really wholesome!
is the big thick leather bracelet to protect you from slicing through or burning your veins/arteries?
what was your influence/inspiration on these blades by chance?
Отличная работа!
