I had one too many wines while watching this vlog. So when Tom came on with his merch shirt I just screamed: I HAVE THAT SHIRT. AND I’M WEARING IT! Just in a different type of shirt! *zips open hoodie with zipper* and my boyfriend was like: yeah babe... I see. Put your clothes back on 😂 so anyway... I love my shirt! So comfy too! Lots of love from tipsy me 😘❤️

I love my weighted blanket. It’s just so soothing and comforting. I find it helps a lot with anxiety. If you’ve ever felt safe wrapped up in a ton of blankets you know the feeling. A weighted blanket gives you that level of coziness but without all of the heat/ hassle.

I have a weighted blanket for my fibro pain and it's a godsend. Doesn't take the pain away of course, but it helps so much when the pain is really bad.

Pre-warning, if you have your macbook on top of the magnets, don't be surprised if it goes to sleep haha. Took me months to realise my laptop wasn't broken but that the magnets were messing with it 😂

I watched your video and at the end where you spoke about you body issues and wearing a bikini, I kinda went like: “what”.? Only then realised you had tubes. Just goes to show, I’m getting to be like Tom where we look beyond the tubes and only see the gorgeous YOU.

Just saw this video! I finally decided to buy a weighted blanket myself several months ago. I have fibromyalgia/CFS and chronic pain, and the weighted blanket has gotten me through so many bad flare ups. They are so incredibly helpful for painful nights and for days when it’s hard to walk/get off the couch.

I had an ileostomy and after that a transverse colostomy (holy 💩) started to wear a lot of clothes that weren't my style. Then I finally realized screw anyone who looks at me bc I have been through hell... I tattooed from my picc line to hide the huge vein that clotted and looked like a green snake. I still like tankinis bc of my surgical scars. I laugh and call myself Franklin belly... Learned it's my life, I'll wear what I want and I wonder how many of those "onlookers" would feel brave enough to just realize that they are human and not freaks. It's horrible thinking of myself that way as a freak, I'm not and neither are you, love yourself, I think your amazing! Let them stare, maybe they're checking out how great your body is! Be YOU!!! YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!!!

Power to you Amy, I 100% agree you should be able to wear what you want regardless of what people think, it’s your life, your body, your choice. I reckon you should be proud of it all because it’s giving you life, show it off with pride. With all your medical issues I think you’re amazzzzzzzzing 👍😀

A 25 minute vlog! Yes please! I have been watching you since the beginning way before you moved to Australia! Been wanting to try a weighted blanket so I may give it a try! I’m so excited for the new & last season of Game of Thrones! Amy you are so strong 💪🏼 you look great and just because you have a tube doesn’t mean you can’t wear a bikini. Everyone has flaws and you just have to embrace them! You’ve been through so much and are lucky to be alive. Be confident in the body you are in! We all love and support you!

Hi Amy, I have slept with a weighted blanket for about 8 years now, and started with a 20 pound over a double bed and now sleep with a 38 pound over a Queen....... I would love more weight but it’s now safe, as it could cause me to not be able to take a big enough breath in my sleep. The one I had made for me did not come with a cover and the pellets( weights) were put in quilted pockets, like yours. I would worry about the entire blanket shifting inside the cover. I chose not to put mine in a cover for that reason. This is how I keep mine clean ( twice a year take it to a laundry mat with a huge industrial washer) so I put a fitted sheet on my bed then a top flat sheet that is one size larger than your bed. Then put the weighted blanket on, then the top flat sheet that is the right size for your bed. Then tuck the top sheet under the weighted blanket and the fold the larger top sheet over the top of weighted blanket and other sheet. Then put what ever blankets you need to keep you warm.... I don’t use any others...... hope this makes sense, if you have questions I can help you out!

I'm at the point with my body where I don't care what people think. I only have this body I have to feel comfortable in it and you should too Amy. It will take time I know from experience but first try to avoid thinking about what other people might think. If they'll go up to you and ask ok that's fine but when they just look then don't be stressed about it. Your life is yours do as you please with how you dress. I see trough your tubes too and they only make you look like a fighter. Embrace them because we can be grateful for them to have you here.♥

I've been curious about weighted blankets myself, maybe I'll try one. One word of caution: I'm a wee bit worried about long-term effects of the magnets and a laptop with a spinning hard drive... if yours has SSD/solid state drive no worries. Just a thought.

eFoobar Laptops typically have SSDs so they don't move at all and won't be damaged by magnets as they don't have a magnetic platter like hdd do. Mac has been using strictly SSDs I think since the first MacBook Air

Hi Amy, I love the cuddly idea of the weighted blanket, but in Jamaica, I would have to turn on the fan really high to be able to get cool enough to need the blanket! I hope it continues to work for you. Tom made be laugh outloud today, enjoyed his comments and contributions. My surgeries have made me( sort of) disfigured, but I still wear swim suits to the beach. People do stare and comment, but I ignore them. You look good, enjoy yourself!

There’s someone I follow on Instagram and she has a tellonym account. Someone actually posted on her tellonym account that they bought an NG online and wanted to know how to put it in! The girl on IG has an NJ and NG and answered this person saying “I hope this is a joke”. Whoever wants a tube as a fashion statement or attention seeker needs help. I can’t understand people who want tubes or central lines, they don’t understand the complication that can come with them. I’ve had my central line for almost 6 yrs. I got sepsis once early on, but not in the last 5 yrs. I’ve had a feeding tube for a little over 3yrs, first an NJ then 6 months later a GJ. I’d love to get rid of both! But I can’t. I’d like to try a weighted blanket but think it would be too hot in the summer (it’s spring now in Canada though still cold!).

Loved that tree bujo spread! You'll get there with the tube confidence. I am moving into summer where I live and add in hot flashes and crop tops are basically all I wear at home, but going out in them, nope. I throw a baggy shirt on over the crop top. I felt self conscious in a crop top pre-tube, with this long dangler hanging out, it's definitely not happening for me yet. That said, I'm sitting here not hungry and not thirsty and not weak from malnutrition and for that I love love love my clunky, awkward but oh so useful tube.

I have hypermobile joints (probs EDS but it's hard to get reffered to rheumy near me) amongst other problems. My main tip with weighted blankets is to support your joints underneath it - so I need a large, firm pillow (generally memory foam to be firm enough) between my thighs/knees (or a v-shaped pillow between my whole legs) and one to hug, otherwise the weight can sublux or strain my joints. I get so so much benefit from my blanket but I just need to be cautious when I'm using it that it's not putting pressure on my joints where it shouldn't

I love to your videos. They help to me pass the day away. Thank you forI'm making your videos fun and lighthearted and enjoyable. I greatly appreciate it.
As a chronically ill person I appreciate being able to see other people like myself. An know that we may not have the same problems, but we understand each other. An understand the situation and the up and down. So thank you for putting your self out there. I hope you have a a wonderful day!
I see everybody's like tubes and feeding tubes as in like g tubes and J tubes. An everybody's placement is so much lower than where I had mine.and I don't know if the reason mine was placed so high was, because I was just had a g-tube. I didn't have a Mickey button or a mini button or any of those. Unfortunately I had the stationary tube that's stuck out and look like I had an alien coming out from underneath my shirt which was really creepy at times. I have a lot of people ask me when I do wear bathing suit what's the scar underneath my boobs why do I have a big circular scar basically dead center underneath my boobs. I call mine a second belly button, because technically what does a feeding tube do? It's just like a belly button/umbilical cord. When you can't eat by mouth that how you get your food. An I have mainly little kids ask what it is I've had a couple people ask adults but mainly it's little kids that I asked. An I explained what it is, but I'm comfortable with mine. It took a long time to be comfortable with it. I happy I had that tool while I needed it. An that it help get me better and get me to a point where I no longer needed it. So I am thankful for it but glad to know longer have it. ( Please forgive any spelling or grammar mistakes. I have dyslexia. And I am not the greatest at spelling I'm not the greatest at grammar. ) Thank you so much for understanding and being polite and not correcting any grammar or spelling mistakes and understand it is what it is. An I do the best I can. Thanks again and I hope you have a wonderful day and a wonderful week.

On the topic of weighted blankets, I asked my doctor about what weight to get.
On the topic of body image: girl, go watch Maggie at Let's Talk Ibd. She talks about rockin her bag, in a bikini, at the beach😉. Now, obviously you've had to overcome some issues in the beginning of your TPN journey, and I'm sure you may still struggle a bit here and there with those issues.. but, you look fantastic, and you know that. YOU know how far your body has come, and YOU know how much you went through to get to where you are. Don't ever be ashamed to show off the tools that helped you succeed. Are you ashamed to be seen in public in your wheelchair? It's just a tool to help you succeed in getting from one place to another, just as your tubes help you get from one place in life to another. 💜🥄🥄🦓💪

Midorine was banned for awhile in the USA. I believe its accessible at this point but the FDA removed it back in 2010. its crazy bc a med like that we would just call in a script to the pharmacy and thats it. We dont require alot to access it but the doctor does have to go over the drug reactions vigorously and make you sign waiver. The USA has made better versions of the Drug i wonder if AU has them .

I have my mic-key Fran age 2-18. Going through puberty and the stage in your life when you find your style and what clothes makes you confident I really struggled. I would wear bikinis rarely but would hold my arm across my body to cover it. My stoma where it was is closed at my stomach but it still looks the same as it did when I first took the tube out for good. So still self conscious about it, bit there’s no bump if I wear tight clothes which I love!

I don’t think I could stand feeling hemmed in with the weight, I have 7 chronic illnesses, one being Crohn’s so I need to get out of bed quickly lol 😂 In the UK 🇬🇧 midodrine is called Bramox and I’m on it also, dose it make your head and neck tingle?? I love the way you mix your vlogs between medical and your real life unlike a certain other who sounds like she’s swallowed a medical dictionary! Who also becomes “too ill” when not doing the things she wants and wearing leg splints and constantly in a wheelchair but then sits crossed legged on the floor etc!!! I could go on but I think we all know who I’m talking about? You’re a beautiful and amazing woman and your strength is astounding, don’t care about what others think sweetie, you carry on living your life your own unique way xx

Lotti at Beanie Co Designs really where I lived in the UK (Manchester) I was on midodrine for years and it was always called midodrine atleast from the chemist/ brand I got it from! How weird 😅 and OMG that other person your talking about! I completely agree and I’m glad you think I have a good balance between Medical & otter stuff because I try really hard to mix both into my vlogs! Because although my health is a big part of my life and it sucks 99% of the time there’s also so much more to my life and so much non medical stuff I want to share with you guys! Sending all my love!❤️❤️❤️

I think a lot of people feel that about needing tubes or devices to be recognised as sick because and I say this as a person with hidden disease that people don't treat them as unwell or believe how bad it is. I kno tubes must suck I have had my share short term tubes and they were enough for me having them always would be horrid but it comes with a understanding from people of oh right u are sick u have xyz and if u have a feeding tube ur less likely to get oh it's just a bit of anxiety snap out of it as an example

Bought a weighted blanket at Xmas, on sale, it was only 11? Pounds supposedly a child size, well, it went back the next day. I could not EVEN lift it on me, it was crazy! I’m about 100 pounds, 5”6, prob the same as you, but I would only try it again if I found a 6? Pound one. This one was on sake for only $20 so the price was fine. But this zebra just couldn’t handle it 😂

Why would anyone want that if they don't need it? That's nuts. I have am invisible disease, and I do get sick of hearing "you don't look sick". I just think to myself you don't look stupid.
