    I’m in Canada, I’m 25 and have been on Xolair since the day I turned 12yrs old. I started it for allergic asthma and mast cell, if I had another asthma attack/allergiC react I would have died, I had already died twice. It has kept my lung function at 42% for 12yrs and it’s saved my life

    I started Xolair 3 months ago. Didn't start working until a few months in. Before, I'd go into anaphalaxis from the cold, heat and exercise. It's working. Such a relief. Still carrying epi around. Still getting hives from stuff, but no more anaphalaxis signs/symptoms. Glad it's working for you!!

    I pray for your pain to be better controlled. I have constant chronic pain which isn’t controlled the greatest. You are what matters the most ❤️

      Ask your Dr. for Tramadol , it's the last best thing of what is classified a narcotic but is not that addictive, been using it for a few years and it helps my spinal pain, and since the Docs won't prescribe Oxycontin anymore, it's the next best thing and so far it's not controversial.

    • @BhappyD
      @BhappyD 4 года назад +4

      Nigon Kouk Tramadol is the only thing that gets me through each day. I’ve been on around the clock scheduled doses, every 3 hours 24/7 (yes, even throughout the night, all through my J-tube), for 8 years now. It doesn’t even come close to taking my pain away, but it takes some of the edge off, which is something I’m thankful for, and is something I lived a long time without. Even a small amount of relief is still relief, and Tramadol certainly works a million times better than anything OTC, with the added bonus of it being VERY difficult to become addicted to. I can honestly say that even after taking it for such a long time, 8 years of scheduled 24/7 doses, I still don’t have any level of addiction or dependence on it, I could quit anytime and the only thing I would experience would be more pain, nor has it lost its level of effectiveness. The hospital my specialists work at is very strict when it comes to pain medication, and thus far Tramadol is still the only drug offered to me for regular pain control. It makes me furious at all of the people who have abused the system, making it so much harder, if not impossible, for people who are facing severe genuine 24/7 pain to receive adequate pain relief. I’m just glad that Tramadol exists, as I truly don’t know where I would be without it. I’m still primarily bedbound and dependent on around the clock care due to the progressive and degenerative nature of my disease, but Tramadol is one of the few things that adds a small amount of quality back to my life, and for that I am grateful everyday for its existence and availability.

    YES XOLAIR! As soon as I saw the title I knew it must have been. My docs pronounce it Zol-air. I’ve been on it since it was a clinical trial in 2017. This has absolutely saved my life. My MCAS is worse with environmental allergies, I was going into anaphylaxis after ~5 minutes outside with a mask, sunglasses, long sleeves and pants. It builds up in your system overtime. At first my reactions were just becoming less severe, but last spring was my first spring without a reaction, and this year I was able to start allergy shots without anaphylaxis. I get 2 injections every 2 weeks for mast cell and asthma. The side effects faded overtime for me. I am so sorry you’re doing poorly, please take your time to feel better! I hope this eases some of your allergies, just give it time ❤️

    Stumbled on this, and also suffer from a lot of digestive tract pain, cramping, bloating, spasms, gas and nausea from severe IBS-D, Lupus/Sjogrens, fibromyalgia and significant joint/ligament intersection damage from a life-critical anaphylactic reaction to a chemo drug 1.5 years ago. Know how much my life completely blew up from my conditions, cannot imagine having to deal with the level of issues you do.
    Wow, amazed how you function at all! 5 years ago my health blew up, after 30 years of managing things enough to have a good career. My body just finally hit me with a hard stop!
    Hope you see this, and know that some of us who have less severe conditions than you understand and admire how you manage to live your life despite the medical sh*tstorm!

    Xolair changed my life! It made my asthma so much better. The first one or two days after the two injections are horrible, but having a month or more between serious attacks is sooo amazing. Now I am allowed to inject myself. That's fantastic. Hope it does the job for you as well.

    I was on xolair 3 years ago when it was new here in the US.. I had to have it because I had chronic hives all over my body with know known cause. They would get up around my neck and would cause breathing issues, which was concerning since I have asthma. I remember how thick the solution was when they injected... They had to inject soooo slowly and it was just so uncomfortable.. I had several rounds and due to moving I decided to discontinue... now I'm solely on the montelukast primarily for my asthma, but also as a buffer for my hives. I haven't had any problems since! I genuinely hope this continues to be effective for you and slowly stops causing more pain in those first few days!!! It really is a wonderful medication!!!!

      I've been on Xolair for over 4 years now at 2 injections every two weeks and even though they help immensely with my Hives, some are from unknown causes and the others are from both heat and cold allergy, I still take daily allergy prescription as well. I hear the States has a new drug just for the hives that is in the testing phase but unfortunately it is not available in Canada yet :(

    • @em-agan
      @em-agan 4 года назад +1

      I was on it then too, but now that it’s out of testing it is much thinner than it used to be. The nurses used to shake trying to push down the plungers...

    • @StarGazer3382
      @StarGazer3382 4 года назад +1

      @@em-agan I'm still on the Xolair that comes in the vial and needs to be mixed so that one is still as thick as before, the new pre-filled syringes are a thinner substance so I didn't want those. But there is a new drug out in testing now only in the states for the condition so hopefully that one is released soon since it's said to work even better than Xolair

    Hello Amy!!! So glad to see you again. I, too, have a chronic disease. It’s interstitial cystitis.....aka IC. In this video you mentioned the drug Montelukast. I was put on that over a year ago. I had to stop taking it. I was sweating from head to toe. I could bathe then dress and after that task I needed another bath. My hair was never dry, always wet. So I stopped taking it. My question to you is, “Were you taking this for your mast cell disorder?” I have mast cell disorder also. And when it flairs it’s ugly head....whoa, it’s bad. I battle constant pain. I don’t think I would know what being pain free is like. Just know you’re not alone. The diagnosis may be different but some symptoms are similar. Take care Amy!! It was so good to see you!!!

      I’m sure in the UK they told me it was approximately £1000 per day and £100k in total to send someone home on long term TPN. Luckily we have the NHS, so don’t need to pay 🥺 It helps you understand why it’s always last resort to put someone on TPN, main issue of course is the potential complications, but it is life support in some cases. ♥️

    Amy, I am SO excited you are getting this medication!! Okay so my MCAS got so out of hand last year that Stanford Hospital here in the US started me on it last fall (2019). This drug has literally not only slowed all of my allergic reactions and respiratory issues it also started helping my gastroparesis! Here in the US it’s $29,000 for 300mg. Now that I’ve been on it for so long I get it every 3 weeks. I still have to get it at the infusion center at the hospital because of it’s black box warnings. I am so so so happy for you! I can’t even explain how well your MCAS symptoms will improve! I feel emotionally happy for you. I know we have never met but I feel like because I experience some of the same diseases as you I immediately start to empathize! I can’t wait to keep seeing more from you. As soon as I saw the alert I did a little dance ☺️ You have no idea some of the struggles your vlogs have helped me through! You inspire me to get my butt posting, sharing my zebra stripes, advocating, and helping others not feel alone! Just like you did for me. Much love and respect from Cali 🧡

I do twice a month 💗 I was diagnosed with EDS this year and I really can thank you enough for it because I didn’t realize it was what I had until I started watching you! My immunologist realized it right away. Medical Zebras! Xolair takes some time but it gets better. It’s helped me a lot. The manufacturer helps with the costs as well! If you need to look for that info! You pronounce it Zolair! Lol that’s how we say it here. It’s for severe asthma and urticaria and it really has impressed my doctor with it working! He had no idea it helped until I researched it! So glad you found it! Bright blessings! Please message if you ever need to vent! I live so much of this with you! I promise 💗

    Dear Amy, I just want to say to you Thank you, for your videos, for your courage, your unbreakable heart. You are an amazing person. In my country, we have a lot of problems with medicine. I mean, many disabled people can't leave their apartments, go somewhere...
    God gave you a beautiful purpose) You are like a light for people who have lost their hope. I wish you long, happy life))

    Oh my god, im supposed to start getting that injection!! It was cancelled when the lockdown happened but I was given a new appointment and its on the 15th.
    I have Urticaria and Angioedema, ive only had it for 1 year, but im covered in Hives from head to toes everyday and I also get severe swelling around my eyes and mouth also tongue and throat so I also have epi pens.
    I have heard such great things about this injection and can not wait to start taking it.
    I'm so happy that it helps you. I can believe that when i started watching you I didn't have anything wrong with me and now we are both relying on this injection, its crazy how life can change.
