    I've spent so much time this last week watching Amy's videos on both channels... I've been spending so much time trying to take in and appreciate what a strong, loving, caring, beautiful young lady she grew up to be. She was an absolute joy and light in the life of her friends, family, peers, and fans.
    She taught all of us SO much... not just about her conditions and illnesses... But she taught us what it means to be a wonderful person who has so much positive worth to society. Getting to know Amy and learn about her life through her hard work and videos has been nothing short of a true blessing. Thank you for sharing so much with us - and teaching us what it means to be strong and get as much out of life as humanly possible.
    Rest in peace and settle in Heaven, sweet angel. There's no more hurting... no more pain. All of our love goes out to you, your wonderful soulmate Tom, and the rest of your friends & family. Fly high + soar far, dear Amy. You shall always hold a place in our hearts.

      I do the same from time to time...😥. I didn't know Amy personally, but after watching several videos, I've always said she was a beautiful soul. May God comfort the family and love ones on this continously hard time.

    I understand blood clots, I have had them in both lungs and then again ten months later. I had to do two injections of lovenox a day for two weeks the first time I got clots and then two injections of lovenox a day for sixty days the second time I got colts. I had to do sixty days because I needed emergency surgery (I had uterine cancer) and had to have an IVC filter put in before surgery and they take it out sixty days later. I was in no way fun so I feel for you. Sorry you are going through so much. Praying for quick healing of your hip. Stay strong. I'm from Austin, TX USA. Loved the song on the 4th.

    Blood clots are awful! I had one recently in my AC, inside of my elbow, from an IV and chemotherapy. It was as very painful, swollen, and hot. Since Im still on chemo, Im now taking a daily blood thinner to prevent any further blood clots. Im relieved that you had that area checked, had an ultrasound quickly, and were treated immediately, blood clots can be deadly and it is never something to mess around with. Btw, your makeup at the beginning was gorgeous 😀

    • @TheArmybrat12
      @TheArmybrat12 5 лет назад +1

      Sierra Cook totally agree. I had a blood clot in May 2017 in left thigh so large it went from my knee to my hip blocking blood flow to the lower leg and a piece broke off and went to my lung. I was first put on an oral blood thinner, this all happened before my gastroparesis diagnosis, was diagnosed with Gastroparesis in September of that year and in October of that year I was in icu because of excessive period bleeding because I got too much blood thinner in my system at one time thanks to GP. they switched me to Enoxaparin injections 2x a day after that incident and I’ve been on them for almost two years now no issues. I unfortunately will be on them for life due to small abnormalities in different tests my hematologist did and the fact I’m Wheelchair bound/non-ambulatory

    • @TheSmbrown
      @TheSmbrown 5 лет назад

      @@TheArmybrat12 That sounds horrible! What a terrible time for you 😱 They gave me too high a dose of blood thinner also, so my last period was 14 days long and I ended up needed blood infusion. Now Im only taking a fourth of the original dose, though I still have frequent nose-bleeds which is not fun at all. I know I'll be on blood thinner as long as Im on chemotherapy, but Im not sure about after. Fighting cancer and being on chemotherapy is just one never ending rollarcoaster. Three days ago, my blood work was fabulous, the next day, it had completely changed. I went from, "you're doing very well, we can lower chemo dosage tomorrow," to, "you are extremely Neutropenic (no immune system), no chemo, you must rest in bed as much as possible and do Not go out in public or be around anyone without wearing a mask at all times. If you develop any fever at all, come to hospital immediately, etc, etc."
      It's all so frustrating, Im sure that you can understand.

    • @TheArmybrat12
      @TheArmybrat12 5 лет назад +1

      Sierra Cook it was horrible. It’s not that I was on too high of a dose it was just that because of my gastroparesis it caused me to absorb the medication slower so by the next dosage time I still had too much of the first dose in my system so they switched me to injections instead. My period lasted a total of 19 days give or take a day. I ended up needing 4 units of blood and 2 IV iron infusions while I was in the icu. I was basically unconscious for 2 days with brief meaning like 5-10 minute periods of consciousness at a time. When they got me into the trauma bay I had lost so much blood they couldn’t get a normal IV so they put a central line in my neck. When My hematologist visited on day 3 of my stay when I was more awake and aware he said “well I was trying to avoid you getting admitted but I guess you had other ideas.” 🤣🤣🤣

      @jerrynitto6622 4 года назад

      @@TheArmybrat12 Those Lovenox injections and the ones you take have a long arse needle. I had to use them after Gallbladder surgery last year. They had to give me 7 bags of plasma to reverse my INR, then injections after the surgery. I use insulin two to three times a day and that is a piece of cake compared to the Lovenox shots. But I was glad to have the shots. It beats more clots in leg and lungs. Do you have APS? I was wondering because all of these conditions are interconnected from what I have been reading. I have APS and some other issues, just not as severe as your current issues. I keep my fingers crossed that they remain stable, but that is now how this stuff works.

    I've had a few blood clots in my arms but only one of them was serious, and it was very serious.
    I had a pic line which hadn't been changed in over 18 months. I know that sounds like complete incompetance on my doctor's part, and I guess it was. In her defense, this was a very long time ago and I was the first patient with a long term pic line in my town, perhaps the first pic line, but I'm not sure about that. At the time, my local hospital didn't have a Doppler ultrasound so I had to be taken by ambulance to a city a two hour drive away. They confirmed I had an eight inch clot that ended right before my heart. It was also seriously infected and I was septic. I didn't know at the time but they had pretty much written me off as dead. The doctors they consulted at the University Hospital in our capital city didn't even see any point in transferring me down there as there was nothing to be done.
    My husband was a thousand miles away at some secluded lake for a fishing trip but they somehow got hold of him and had him rush home.
    They gave me tons of IV antibiotics, blood thinners and morphine. Then we waited for the inevitable stroke, lung clot or heart attack. But they never happened.
    A week or so later, they started to think I may survive after all and the wait was then for gangrene to set in and my arm and shoulder having to be amputated. At it's worst, it looked like, as my son so eloquently described it, "a huge salami that had been left out in the hot sun for two weeks. Gross I know, but very accurate.
    Eventually, after many weeks, I recovered. A few months later, my arm managed to create alternate circulation and, though it still looks terrible, it does work reasonably well.
    The pain though! OMG it was horrible. Some of the worst of my life, and I have chronic kidney stones so I do know what real pain is.

      Hope feel better now ❤ i got a question when u had a blood cot how did it feel? I noticed for a few weeks that my arm and vien was swollen but i didn't pay attention until today. The blood vessel feels swollen and bulge with weird pain like numbness maybe? And like pain coming from my hand to past my elbow only on my left side tho. I know ur not a doctor or anything and i gotta go to the doctor for a check up but im a bit nervous because my lungs kinda hurts too

    • @mustwereallydothis
      @mustwereallydothis 3 года назад +1

      @@Moonlightdarkness567 serious blood clots are usually terribly painful. Like mind blowingly, horribly painful. The area is also normally red, swollen and very warm or even hot to touch. If it's a vein you can see, I believe that's a good sign. The deep ones are larger and more likely to send clots to bad places. You still want to have a doctor look at asap it though. Blood clots can travel to your hear, lungs or brain and do very bad things. Not something you want to experience.
      There is another condition your doctor will probably consider. Veins can become inflamed for various reasons. When that happens it looks and feels like you have a thick, hard rope under your skin. If it's close enough to the surface, you may be able to see an angry red line running up your arm or leg. I've had that happen before as well. It was a long time ago though and I can't remember what the doctor did about it.

      @@mustwereallydothis thank u for the reply back ❤ the pain in my arm now comes and goes it lasted for two hours ( when i typed my question). When i move arm still it still hurts a bit. The pain didn't start till i noticed the vein budge out and suddenly it went down the pain stared after. Im actually planning on going to the doctor for a checkup on my health and mental health when i do i'll asked her about it. Thank u for ur advice and telling me a bit about it i hope u continue to heal ❤

    • @mustwereallydothis
      @mustwereallydothis 3 года назад +1

      @@Moonlightdarkness567 It certainly does sound like something to consult your doctor about. Personally, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable waiting for a check-up to do so but you're the one dealing with it, not me. I hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

      @@mustwereallydothis thank u if the pain doesn't go away in a few days i'll go to an urgent care. My dad the type who doesn't believe in going to the doctor for many things. I don't really want to be accused of a " hyperconac " again with being yelled at. I wished i was telling a lie but im not it actually hurts wished it wasn't like this.My mom messed up her foot many years ago and she had to crawl on a chair just to get up i hardy remember but it was bad swollen and eventually she went finally. Im still living with my family ( im almost 20 ) and unfortunately my car is broke so and he wants me to go check my health ( mental) and i think it be a good excuse to ask. You probably think im silly but thank u honestly i want to go see what it is but im aslo scared at the same time best to know now then later.

    I always look forward to your blog post. I had a blood clot in my left arm, I was in the hospital at the time, I was so sick. I had a reaction to the Chemo I was on it almost killed me. Don't remember this, I don't remember 14 days of that hospital stay, but this is what I was told, evidently, I got up to use the bathroom and fell and knocked my port out or loose and caused a blood clot. I was put on high doses of the blood thinner Coumadin. Took a couple of months to get well again.

I wanted to let you know when my asthma was bad as a child I had this happen and I was treated properly just told it was from excessive prednisone while having an IV and blood gasses while on steroids and my arms got worse. I couldn’t lift anything, make a fist, I got a fever they had to put me on antibiotics. I think now I had a blood clot but who knows. Now I’ve been diagnosed with Eds, mast cell and POTS at age 41 all in the past 6 weeks it’s all making sense! Prayers for a speedy recovery and can’t wait for this house journey with you and Tom!!! 😘

    Blood clots are absolutely horrible! Back in 2017 I got a major DVT in my left thigh that went from my hip to my knee and completely blocked blood flow to my lower leg and a piece broke off and went to my lung. I had no symptoms of it forming until all of a sudden my leg was super swelled, severe pain, couldn’t move it. My hematologist did a bunch of blood work and said while there weren’t any major issues indicating a clotting problem, there was enough small abnormalities in multiple results of different tests coupled with the fact I’m Wheelchair bound/non-ambulatory I have to be on blood thinners the rest of my life.
    Extra story with that, this blood clot happened in May, before my gastroparesis diagnosis, I was put on eliquis which is an oral blood thinner and then in September I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. In October i ended up in the ICU for excessive menstrual bleeding because I got too much blood thinner in my system at one time thanks to Gastroparesis. They switched me to Enoxaparin AKA lovenox injections 2x a day every day. Been on the for almost 2 years now with no issues.
    PS. You could also stop the Enoxaparin for 24-48 hrs before your procedure because it’s out of your system fully in 24 hours. That’s what I have to do when I have any procedures
    P. S. S. You can also give the lovenox shots in the thigh too.

    A tip from a nurse here, if you want the clexane injections to hurt less, you should put the needle in really fast. The needles that they come with are not as sharp as regular needles. Also I am quite suprised that you did not got them after your hip surgery. In my hospital (netherlands) it is protolcol that people who had surgery or something that makes them less mobile get the .4 injections. In your case it would be for 6 weeks. But them again, every country and even hospitals have their own ways. I love whatching you and see the other ways.

    So I've been doing research and have symptoms of POTS. I also have celiac disease and I done research concluding that people with celiac disease and gluten intolerance may have a higher chance of actually having pots, and I wanted to ask personal experience of y'all who have it and what you had to go through to actually get the diagnosis. I'm aware it may not be POTS, and I may be anemic also, but is anemia a sign or symptom of POTS too? Due to my celiac I'm not able to absorb iron properly so it's been happening often for years now and I wanna know if it's anything to worry about or not.
    Symptoms include:
    - light headed and almost fainting when I stand up (even if I do it slow)
    - nauseous often
    - constant headaches (like atleast once every day)
    - struggle so much to shower sometimes as it makes me extremely light headed
    - blood pooling in feet while in the shower (often very red or sometimes purple)
    - craving salty stuff
    - thirsty often
    - often tired and never feels like I've gotten enough sleep
    - hard to excersize/be active due to shortness of breath, headache and also makes me dizzy
    - sometimes extreme chest pain that only goes away by laying down
    I can't think of anymore right now, and I recently (Maybe two weeks or so ago) got a blood test and am yet to see what my results were, hopefully finding out tomorrow so I'll update the post if I find out.
    Thank you for anyone that can help me, I'm being told that "the doctors would've picked it up by now" from a lot of people, but I'm aware that even blood tests and things can turn out clear until the tilt table test that confirms POTS, so I wanted to make sure by y'all who have actually had experience that I'm not just crazy. I know this video has nothing to do with POTS but I honestly am needing advice and guidance right now

    Don't APOLOGIZE for not blogging, Sweetie! Do what you CAN do! We just worry about you! But, if you push yourself beyond what is comfortable, you put MORE stress on your body..I know you ALREADY know this. Just want you to know we, your fans ( y.t. friends) are aware of it as well. Better to have fewer blogs, than none at all, because you've done too much and made yourself even MORE ill! You are very much loved, Amy ( Tom, too!). Y.T. wouldn't be the same without you! Much love,light and positive vibes from a newer subscriber and friend!

    Love the purple! Don't be too hard on yourself & your progress of healing -- your body sometimes knows what it's doing. LOL which is more than I can say about mine, I have to take autoimmune suppressants and I used to have to inject myself every day. The fatty layer of the stomach is better than the thigh, which is wayyy better than the fatty back side of the arm. I used to get giant knots under my skin from the injection which were hot and painful for a few days so I had to rotate injection sites.

    The medicine for the clot looks similar to lovenox here in the US. It does sting a lot. If you numb your skin for a few minutes with ice beforehand, it helped mine not sting as much. I would fill a paper cup halfway up with water and put it in the freezer. Then you can peel back the paper to reveal the ice block but still have something to hold on to so it isn’t so messy.

    Make-up looks fab! You have to take it easy though with your hip. I got 4 clots in my arm when a line bkew up as well. Eventually went onto the Clexan injections and blood-thinners for 6 months. If you have Reparil Gel (we have it here in South Africa), keep it handy and put it on your Clexan injection site, as it burns and bruises your skin a lot. I also got this amazing tip to put Trans-Act plasters on the site - it took the bruising away in days. Also keeps the inflammation down. Hope you feel better soon - take it easy though. We - your subcribers - ain’t going anywhere.

    Last year when my family was school shopping my dad felt a tight and sharp painful feeling in his chest to the point he had to go to the hospital. Turns out he had two blood clots in his lungs and one in his leg so he had to stay at the hospital for the week. He ended up OK but it was pretty much a miracle.
