My heart is broken. Our Zebra community has lost such a massive warrior influencer who raised so much awareness. This video hit me hard because I'm on IV potassium everyday and my magnesium is always super low. Amy you were the most hard-core fighter who came back from this near death weight loss and seemed to do so much better once you got put on TPN . It sure seemed unexpected. We lost a beautiful unique soul and I hope that wherever you are, you're finally pain free for the first time ever. You showed such beauty and strength in your stripes. I hope you're free of them now. I am in this same boat right now. It sucks. You have helped me so much!
I just hate seeing your poor arms in such a condition what with the bruises and skin rash. I’m so sorry you’re stuck in the hospital, but hope the potassium starts helping and brings your numbers up. Sending lots of love your way!!! ❤️♥️💗🦓💪🏻
After a rib removal surgery, I was discharged from the hospital a couple weeks ago. Every thing they gave me to eat tasted awfullll. They told me it was from general anesthesia. No. It was just nasty. I’m so upset I found Amy and her channels so late. She’s such an inspiration and I know she’s finally healthy and pain free. I know she’s appreciative of all the comments we’ve been leaving for her. Rest easy, beautiful.

I wish for a speedy recovery and they find you some answers in life that will kick this in the butt. Keep being positive no matter what girl.. much love from Texas
Amy, I could relate so much when you were speaking about how nobody wants to take charge at Gastro! It's so frustrating when Doctor's don't really know what to do with you and everyone is saying something different. It's especially bad for rare diseases...hang in there and all the best; I wish for a speedy recovery!

Omg! I've had Potassium bags like you when I was in hospital a few years ago as I had really low potassium and it literally burns. It is so not a nice feeling at all.
Potassium through an IV hurts so bad! After my last baby my Potassium level was really low, spent all night getting bag after bag run through me. Each one seemed to get worse.

Hey amy praying for u and I have been in pain for 2 months now almost 3 months every second of every day seeing a lot of doctors about my acid reflux and gastroparesis
Im in and out of hospital with kidney trouble..i understand the food issue...im praying for you amd i pray all is well.. you are strong and an inspiration to me to push thru❤❤
I was lucky the last time I was in the hospital. The food was okay! Except that one time, they sent me tuna casserole. :x I couldn't even smell it without gagging!
I know you hated some of the food you got but they are way better options for GP than my hospital. Their clear liquid and liquid diets are awful. ..and there are no real soft food options.
That's neat how you can tell the people at the hospital what you want to eat by using a computer. Here at my local hospital here in the United states somebody from the cafeteria comes around to your room and gives you the options of what you can order and you tell them what you want to eat. I wish we could order our food from a computer at our hospital. What's funny about hospital is they want you to get some rest but you can't get any rest because from how many times a nurse comes in your room lol. I get more rest at home than I do in a hospital.
yeah.. gastroparesis sucks. they didn't let me have enough time between my premeds and my meals, so i was sick pretty much all the time. i tried to tell them 30-45 minutes prior but they didn't seem to like following a schedule...
Is beans a normal part of Australian food? It’s odd... especially for breakfast lol. Here in America you never (unless you get baked beans in the far north) see beans at breakfast. Here it’s eggs, bacon, bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches, etc for breakfast + pancakes and French toast. Muffins, donuts lol.
Know what you're going through. My husband has gone through all that. He would go home for 3 days then spend 3 to 4 weeks in hospitality. This went on or 21/2 years. He's on TPN now. He can't seem to gain weight.
Totally understand the struggle with the food in hospitals. I’ve been in hospital for like a week. I have to eat 100% gluten free but the hospital didn’t have any gluten free options. Ate cucumber and yogurt for a week cause they couldn’t manage to get gluten free meals.
Hello, I see what you felt with potassium, at the hospital in Lille France) where I had heart surgery, I lacked potassium so in the catheter and the burn was horrible, I think it is the biggest pain I have felt in two months of hospitalization and it lasted about 15 to 20 minutes if I remember correctly. We in France are lucky to have a health system that takes care of everything and that must not be lost or we will become like the United States, it is the richest who can seek treatment. Very good luck to you, I say a prayer for you, may God keep you ...
Question: how do you bend your arm with the cannula in the part of your arm that bends? I can't do it! I can feel the tube trying to bend underneath my skin. Maybe I'm just a wimp 😂
it's only plastic in the vein , the needle gets out the second they push the plastic part in so you can bend the arms , it can be uncomfortable though.
They did the same thing to my dads puréed foods. His turkey came in the shape of a turkey leg. It looks so bad. The peas you got look exactly like my dads and I wouldn’t even feed it to him.
Lol, your face with the porridge. FYI, I too licked the bean juice off a spoon back when my swallowing was worse. I just wanted to TASTE real food. Too funny! Happy to be past my bean juice days. I hope better days are ahead for you soon!
Keep on goin forward girl!!! Btw about why they don’t give potassium phosphate is because it crystalizes easily and that can become life threatening. I’m not exactly sure and this guy called chubbyemu could explain it better.
Since when do you eat regular food trays in the hospital? I guess I am so used to seeing you not eat that I was surprised to see you order actual food lol!
She is chew and spitting and of she is also draining. Now that she has the PEG-J it is a lot easier for her to drain and then is she is able to even get a few extra calories while the food is in her stomach before she drains that help.. Even a small amount of extra calories helps.. I have to do the same thing and sometimes it worth the extra work and sometimes pain to just taste food cause trust me you really start to crave food and you will do anything to feel like you are eating...
Is Amy from Australia? Does she currently live in England? The start of the video looked like england. Also amy you are so strong and inspiring! I don't know how you manage to stay strong! I was on an NG tube for 6 months and it was awful! I don't know how you cope with all these tubes, you're so strong! Xx
When i was in the hostpital for athsma, doctors came in every 4 hours to give me breathing treatments to get my breathing level to a normal level. Bich👏i👏could👏not👏sleep👏. It was miserable and honestly respec you so much because i could never be as strong as you...
I am late watching your video. I hope and pray you feel better soon. I am so proud of you You are so strong, beautiful, so smart. You are in my prayers always ! Hugs
Ya I really hate the burn potassium I run double pigtail in my chest. Miss your videos. I hope your family are well. Hard loss losing you. Gone but not forgotten.
I take Spirolactone, it raise's your Potassium Level. I used to go into the hospital every month because of super low potassium. And it really burns going through an IV. Now mine stays just high enough where I don't have to do it anymore!💜
Not sure if they will do it for you, but when my Mom needs Potassium, they have the pharmacy make the bags instead of using the premade bags--they use the smaller IV bags-500ml and add potassium and run it a little quicker because its more diluted and doesn't burn so she's happy (as happy as she can be in the hospital lol). Hope you are feeling better!!!!
i have to agree about hospital food when my wife had a spell in hospital i ended up taking sandwich's and flaks of soup other wise i thjink she may have starved
You should ask to get a port put in that way you don’t ever have to be stuck again then they can put up to two IVs in the port my mother had one and she never had to be stuck again
I had that the week befor Xmas had calcium potassium and magnesium for two nights running like you in both arms six weeks later still taking magnesium and potassium fed up just wanna be well xxx
I remember the food I got when I was admitted. I actually ended up starving myself because the texture, the smell and the taste were making me feel sick and the food was difficult to swallow. I ended up living off cereal in the morning and an apple in the evening. I was too shy to say I didn´t like the food and had difficulties eating it. Probably was stupid because I had dropped 2 kg in 3 days
Potassium burns even with the saline. My hospital here in the US doesn’t give them unless it’s an emergency now. My veins look like I’ve shot Heroine for years the one IV tech said when looking at my veins in the ultrasound(hard stick). I have low potassium and I drop at least twice a year. Last year I collapsed due to my potassium being 1.4 and my magnesium being 0.3. It sucks.
My gastoparesis is so bad that I can't hold anything down at all ,I'd rather not eat and suffer more ! My husband is so helpful and supportive ,I'm very lucky he truly takes care of me ! We have been married for 36 years and he's still so supportive! Things are very bad right now and I'm constantly in the hospital which is horrible! When I first got the disease was very optimistic, but as the years went on it got so much worse ! I can barely function ,it's so extremely hard ! I feel so sick everyday .but have the same routine as Emily with the help of ,you husband! It's getting so incredibly bad ,and I feel myself falling into depression! I also gas copd ,ptsd, and was sexually abused a as a child ! It seems like my life would be hell all the time ,but I have an extremely helpful and supportive family, I'm so lucky ! You ate so brave it's the only way to go ! I also have a connective tissue disease and pulmonary Fribrosis, which means I have have ,you lungs drained and spend alot of time in the ICU with chest rubes in ! Life can be so hard ,but I believe Jesus will cure me and even if he won't, you trust in alone !
Absolutely Amy! You deserve the very best in this life because how much of yourself you humbly give. I am all the way from the United States of America and I some how found your channel. Oh yeah! My twin birther went through a gastric bypass surgery and I was interested in how they tube fed him. He very recently told me he has to go through another surgery because he's still not able to eat normally. He got this type of surgery in the first place because he was so morbidly obese and it took a toll on his heart. Obesity runs in my family. Even I try to watch out for it. Tell them to feed you some REAL food that's edible! Damn! If they don't, throw it on the floor and make them clean it up! ; )
When they give you liquid potassium ask them to give you a lidocaine backer which is lidocaine with in the bag of potassium that helps numb it so it doesn’t hurt as bad as hike getting the Potassium I have learned from personal experience
I don’t understand why they don’t bring you more food you can actually eat. The last time I was in the hospital to stay when I had my son. I got a decent sized menu to pick from. I got to also got to get literally as many drinks as I wanted. So I would get iced tea, juice, a soda, coffee or hot tea. 😂 And I got to get extra food (because I was breastfeeding and needed the extra calories) but the menu definitely had quite a few things you would of been able to eat. That would be drainable. I’m fortunate as well that the hospitals near me actually have decent food.
To be honest I expected the food to be way worse I'd actually eat that gladly haha but everything else in the hospital... oh gosh girl you are so so strong ❤

Omgosh, those peas, they are NOT supposed to be all stuck together like that. Awful
Sherry Graham they’re puréed LOL looks very unappetizing
"Purred"
I think they were pureed and then pressed in a pea-shaped mold.
I know you hated some of the food you got but they are way better options for GP than my hospital. Their clear liquid and liquid diets are awful. ..and there are no real soft food options.
Erica Taylor yeah the options are liquid diet which is like clear soups and liquid then a soft diet and then a normal diet
Came across this video today and even though you are still here makes watching your struggle with your health issues even more sad 😢
Ikr? And in US hospitals you only get breakfast lunch and dinner, not breakfast, morning tea, lunch, dinner, supper and snack!
Ini ITU sakit APA sih, I am from Indonesia, what your sick.. I hope u comeback healty 😊😊
i could never pre-order hospital meals... half the time, i call down for it and by the time they bring it up, i'm nauseous and don't want it anymore!
An Aspie's POV that’s kinda what happens when the food gets here I’m always to nauseous to each much and even chewing and spitting.
yeah.. gastroparesis sucks. they didn't let me have enough time between my premeds and my meals, so i was sick pretty much all the time. i tried to tell them 30-45 minutes prior but they didn't seem to like following a schedule...
I eat beans for breakfast in the USA. I'm mexican though sooo lol
donuts for breakfast? what the fuck
What! Not even like a full English breakfast?? They always include beans!
Refried beans and eggs with tortillas are the best!!!
Amy’s face at 0:58 I died oml😅😆☠️you will be missed so much your lively humour will always be remembered x
Nadia H not really, you could probably only feel it if the cannula isn’t in properly or you bend your arm really hard lol
@@ac67833 ah - well mine must've been in very wrong! 😂
it's only plastic in the vein , the needle gets out the second they push the plastic part in so you can bend the arms , it can be uncomfortable though.
I had an IV where I bent my arm and I mad them change it a week ago 😂
They did the same thing to my dads puréed foods. His turkey came in the shape of a turkey leg. It looks so bad. The peas you got look exactly like my dads and I wouldn’t even feed it to him.
7:22 I snorted xDD Man, wht a sweet EDS warrior I am missing. I will still continue to watch Amy.
I miss seeing your videos so much ❤ I'm crying you had such an impact on my life. Fly high beautiful
The food I had In my hospital sucked cause they gave me a medication that made my taste horrible I lost over 4 pound in 3 days 😂
My main hospital I can order as much as I want within a certain window.
You're so brave stay strong always may God bless you
I take Spirolactone, it raise's your Potassium Level.
We love you Amy. Thank you so much for being truly a gorgeous inspiration 💞
I had that the week befor Xmas had calcium potassium and magnesium for two nights running like you in both arms six weeks later still taking magnesium and potassium fed up just wanna be well xxx
I agree with the potassium it burns so much I had a lot of bags last time I was in hospital.
Stay positive sweetheart you're a fighter you can beat this!! 💐❌⭕💝💛💞💜💖
'A lovely...oh christ' is basically every hospital meal ever lmao
I've been thinking of you. sending prayers
I always have an allergic reactions to the sticker things that they over the drips too red rashes its horrible. Sending hugs xx
That is AMAZING that your family advocates for you!!
It sucks.
Your face tasting that 😱😂❤️ I feel yeah hospital food is nasty.
I love hospital for where I am
I always cover everything in sugar and salt lol I bring my own 😂😂
You’re so brave Amy! Stay strong beautiful xx
Your poor thing I hope you get better soon may God bless you ♥️🐈📍💚💛💛❤️
My gastoparesis is so bad that I can't hold anything down at all ,I'd rather not eat and suffer more !
Praying for you Amy 😔💔
Bless your heart for all the stuff you have to go thru.😘
Absolutely Amy! You deserve the very best in this life because how much of yourself you
humbly give. I am all the way from the United States of America and I some how found your
channel. Oh yeah! My twin birther went through a gastric bypass surgery and I was interested
in how they tube fed him. He very recently told me he has to go through another surgery
because he's still not able to eat normally. He got this type of surgery in the first place
because he was so morbidly obese and it took a toll on his heart. Obesity runs in my family.
Even I try to watch out for it.
Tell them to feed you some REAL food that's edible! Damn! If they don't, throw it on the floor
and make them clean it up! ; )
When they give you liquid potassium ask them to give you a lidocaine backer which is lidocaine with in the bag of potassium that helps numb it so it doesn’t hurt as bad as hike getting the Potassium I have learned from personal experience
Miss you 🙏🌷🇺🇸 RIP
I feel you about the potassium. I've had several IVs they would give me compress to help with the pain. I would have rather gone threw labor again.
Tom was so loving. I do so wonder how he’s doing ….
Two are so great together! ♡ sleep sweet, Miss Amy.
Oh my goodness! That “porridge” looked terrible!
I hate getting blood drawn, and I hate I.V.'s (if I spelled that wrong, sorry). My veins blow really quickly. And they like to hide.
All docs do that pass the buck or don't wanna make decisions for fear of making the wrong one! I
To be honest I expected the food to be way worse I'd actually eat that gladly haha but everything else in the hospital... oh gosh girl you are so so strong ❤
Prayers ❤💜
