Maybe the people seem more friendly because you are way happier and could be giving off a much more approachable vibe. Those of us that have been watching you for awhile really notice how much happier you are in the van and love to see it. Love the new fridge and all the additions you have been making, so fun to watch!!
twobyfour agreed...the stress of not knowing from one day to the next what part of Tilly was going to break down was really wearing on Eric. He looks much happier and more relaxed. Pray for his safety from the crazies. (:
You are my favorite RV channel because you show a genuine, real RV life and make the daily, trivial things interesting (and you have talent for filming). I am learning a lot from you. I have just rented the smallest campervan to drive across Japan (see my second video), but I hope to do Route 66 with a rented RV later in the year, so your RVing tips will be very helpful.
ultimaetsolder Great, many thanks! I am sure it will get really interesting, especially in "tough" places that I will be visiting, such as Iraq or North Korea (won't be driving in an RV at those places!).
Thank you Stephen. I already mentioned in an earlier comment that I will take it easy, starting with "easy" countries and then diversifying my destinations (North Korea, Iraq, Sudan, once I sort out the visa issues). I've done a bit travelling already, North America (including Hawaii), China and a few places in Europe. But this quest is the ultimate, in fact I will likely be the 1st person in the world that will do both: visit all countries and travel 10 million miles. I will keep you in the loop. Initially I will be posting once or twice per week, but then will attempt to post daily once I hit the air/road on April 22nd.
10 Million Miles Journey Wow awesome. When you get famous remember me - I was subscriber number 7, lol. Best wishes for a safe and fun journey. Looking fwd to the upcoming vids. Take care.
Proud to be one of the first 10 viewers of this video. I want to say thanks Eric for making these videos. You're inspiring me to go for my goals like you did, but in a sport. So thank you for that and keep on travelin'!
Well...being a "handy-man" definitely pays off!! It sure makes life easier, if you know how to repair things yourself. You have that huge advantage on your side!!
Nomadic Fanatic Hey man, I notice in some vids you put open containers next to your laptop. This is a bad idea, as bumping liquid onto a running (or otherwise). It will likely break/short fragile components in your computer - mainly motherboard/cpu, and void warranty. Getting this fixed on own dime will often be more expensive than just getting a brand new computer, on average. So be warned, Eric.. ;)
Another good video. Great tip on the banking issue - a lot of people wouldnt know this without you. I laughed when you pushed the pull open door. Its one of the reasons I like your videos - you show a lot of your ups and downs and humorous events. Others edit them out cos of embarrassment. It was even funnier cos of the camera angle. Everyone has done it before, but its different seeing it on the net. Driving at night was a different experience in your video plethora of experiences. Keep on going, season 2 is shaping up better than what I thought it was going to be.
Woohoo finally got your cooler/fridge...was looking very forward to seeing this video:) awesome videos like always👍 hello to both you an jax from New Zealand 😊
Lisa Kent I guess. She had nice things to say, but it bothers me when people give up pets anyway. Like when a new baby is born and turns out to be algergic to the 15 year old cat. The family gets rid of the cat like it's nothing. Hell, the cat was there first. Get rid of the baby who doesn't fit into the family. lol.
You are my favorite RUclipsr everything that I get for my van I got from looking at your videos I appreciate you putting videos out for people like me who knows something but not how to master it the way you do good job keep up the good work tell Jack's I said hi😄🐱
Your van reminds me of the A-Team van, pretty cool setup Eric. I know you are in a newer RV now, but I still enjoy watching some of your older videos from time to time. Hope you, Morgan and Jax are doing well.
That fridge will probably use 3 amps an hour when getting cold after that 1.5 amps probably, which is almost nothing since you have a very good battery bank. A little small for me, but you're alone and in the van space is a premium. A very nice addition for sure! These are also quiet, and like you said, portable! I hate auto witdrawals, I'm down to 2 a month and soon no more. Keep that emergency fund growing! Take care.
That is a very cool cooler!! I thought it was the front loading fridge, this is perfect for the van ... good choice! Keep the vids coming. This may be better than the Yeti ... I may reconsider.
Just found this guy; I like him! Kinda geeky about his van and travel-camping; seems to love his cat; resourceful with tools/equipment/supplies; aware of assets in the neighborhood; not intimidated by the surroundings. Kinda like me!
I heart your channel and luv that you have a kitty! Going on my vacations this year, got a minivan to start! I have a 20 yr old kitty that will come with!
Awesome fridge. Great video. Looks like the gopro low light is quite good! Hope your trip back here is good. The PNW is finally looking nice and warm so you picked a good time. Let me know if you need anything.
Van is definitely starting to take shape, I didn't realize the cooler would get that cold definitely a nice addition. Keep up the great vids! I'll make a donation so you can do 20 more loads :)
Finally realized this morning what was funny about your captains chair driver seat! It is a passenger seat lol seat belt go's opposite way. Hey great vid, looked like a successful day boondocking full of accomplishments. Cheers have a natty daddy for me lol
The seats were actually the middle seats out of a Dodge conversion van. The two front seats were trashed. However the two middle seats looked as if they had never been used when I got them. Guy couldn't sell van so he started parting it out on craigslist. That's where I found them. Had to weld special brackets to the floor. Driver will come out and face reverse on passenger side if he needed a recliner in a jiffy.
People make me laugh.... Though you was giving away that cat !!....LOL...All kinds make the world go round...Awesome frig, can't wait to see your review on it especially using the battery power overnight !
You're lucky to find a BOA in TN at all. I was with them, but they left the northeast area of TN and switched us all to a little TN bank. At least if you venture out of the country they can be useful, it was great paying zero ATM fees in the UK with their partner bank ATM.
You seem a lot happier in the Van! Great to see Eric, Jax look's happier too :P I noticed when you were driving during the night that your headlights seem to point to the right? Van is really coming along, honestly love the carpet. I'm 18 and seriously thinking about doing what you are, honestly inspired me.
***** I suggest you mind your own business and stop trolling Eric's account otherwise it'll bite you in the ass and i will make sure of it, understand? Thanks :)
▂▃▅▆▇█▓▒░Crack432░▒▓█▇▆▅▃▂ He's been trolling Eric for months now. We block him as much as possible. The poor guy is obsessed beyond reason. He's got screws loose in his brain.
Boy were you lucky... Franklin and Brentwood ares the two wealthiest cities in Tennessee and I am surprised you had not issues boondocks' there LOL. As to BofA we have several in the Nashville area, so good stop.
If you have the skills and tools, consider making yourself a custom unit for the front of the cab. Something that would hold the fridge and have a safe place for Jax to ride on top of. Maybe some sort of drawer to put the fridge on and additional stotage if there's room.
Glad the fridge is working fine :) You do look happier, I agree, and that radiates to all you meet! One thing about your new ending part of the videos, hearing Jax meowing so strongly makes me kind of worry that he wasn't happy, it makes me sad :(
People seem more happy because you are happier and more approachable. You're holding you head up and looking them in the face. You're no longer looking down. Be safe!
Since you have Jax reminding me to give it a thumbs up, I remember every time. So give that working boy an extra pat for a job well done. Is he using his new box in the cupboard? He is so easy going and will do whatever you want as long as he gets to be with you. Jax is a bit more dog than cat at times. LOL!
Got an idea for the fridge, could you build a channel to pull the exhaust away from the fridge and put it in that spot where the old cooler was? It would save floor space!! Just a thought!! Good luck heading into Nashville.
you do look alot happier now that you changed vehicles.....love the progress....do you think Jax misses the rv and his window seat? just a thought......
I was going to post the same thing lol. ERIC can you hear us?? Get some wd40 or spray white grease for the doors. You'll be surprised at how easily they'll open/close & Quiet too.
Campervan Kevin Bertha has certainly added to Eric and Jax's life...you did such a good job on that van. It's nice to see Eric make it his own, and I'll bet you feel the same.
Eric...I'm so happy that someone mentioned a little lube on the doors. When you are closing the doors the sounds make me cringe. Good luck with the van!
Hi Eric, well I am caught up on your videos and am sorry about the Tioga. But if you can hack the cramped condition of the van more power to you.The price was right. Remember the big wooden storage box you had on the back of the Tioga? How about a half size one on the van you could make it the size of the shelf with doors for the generator? How about mounting the guitar above the passenger seat? I LOVE that fat kitty Jax.Oh and frozen beer is yummy. Safe travels.
I was looking at some of the Taxa trailers (Mantis, Cricket) and they use a lot of cargo netting to hold things to walls and ceilings. Maybe something like that would work for the guitar.
could you build a small platform in the front where Jax's litter box used to be and keep only the fridge on top (Jax could probably lay on it if he wanted and there are still other places for him to be up front with you too). The one side the vent would go into the space where passengers legs used to go and the other side you could store things lower as long as they didn't go up past where the vent is... and technically whatever platform you build could have storage underneath for things you don't need to access as often etc i use a small credit union and while there are not many branches out of IN and IL... they partner all over the country with credit unions... so i can still access everything most wherever i am by just finding the local credit union. took me years to know that was an option though!
WHAT!! Did that lady say give away Jax! LOL What was she smoking? hehehehe We really like the new refrigerator, perfect size for the van. Doing laundry at coin washers is the only downer in my mind when my better half and I get on the road. We can put a washer dryer in our new fifth wheel but we do not want to pull that extra weight and the size of the washers are small. Kind of a waste of water to only be able to do tiny loads at a time. Glad to see you smiling Eric and Jax meowing with joy. He seems to have gotten use to his new privy location, that is super cool. Happy trails to you both. Charles and Janet : }
The people I've talked to say too much water, too much power, builds up a bad odor, too much gray water, takes 3 hours to finish a small load and the machines cost a fortune. Make your own decision.
Suzan Allen You would be very correct, that's why I went with the panda, cheap, easy on water, 0 to 15 mins run time, you can select the time. Spin dryer makes the close damp, but I can hang my clothes on a line if I need to.
I would probably go with a plastic utility tub, plastic washboard & a standard bottle of Dawn dish soap. Dawn is a fantastic all around cleaner, and very effective against oil/grease. Though I would also only keep a weeks worth of clothing (say 7 outfits) and replace articles as they wore out.
Your in the deep south, people, for the most part, are really that friendly. As for the lady wanting to know about Jax, its not unusual for people in the south to be at shopping centers to give away unwanted pets,
You should get you one of those manual mopstick washers and a bucket like surviven2 has, they work really well even better than a real washing machine.
The proper way to test a new fridge is a 6 pack of Bud Lite and a bottle of Jack Daniels. If they chill to the awesome taste then the fridge works good lol :)
Have you ever noticed a few videos there was a Budweiser truck in back ground and now camped out in front of a Liqour and wines. Eric rocks I don't care what anyone says he is my kind of guy!
That's a really nice cooler! Sweet! I also hate those auto withdraws. The withdraws happen on the same day each month but I am paid bi-weekly. So sometimes payday is just before the withdraw and sometimes just after... ugh. The friendliness is because you are in Tennessee! :-) My neck of the woods.
The vents are in the front and back. If you take a piece of 1 1/2 styrene board, maybe double you can keep 3" off the wall, then cut a whole for the vents and use wood framing to keep it in place you can put it against the wall. However, the video from austrailia shows 50 degrees below ambient which scares me.
Eric your night driving,as I was watching ahead of you it appears your left head light should be reset a little to the left, closer to the center of the llane.:)
Nice fridge I have been ooggaling them for the last year just cant seem to get the monies together to get one please keep us updated I want to know how many days you can keep it going you do have solar so that should make it interesting on run time....
When I lived in Tn anyone that was giving away pets puppies and kittens went to walmart parking lot and sat there to do it every walmart had someone there giving away pets
People are nicer in the south Eric. The farther north you go on the East Coast the less pleasant people can be. I am not trying to stereotype people but, it just seems that there is more rude people in the northern parts. My wife grew up in the Northeast and she is always surprised at how well mannered Southerners are. This could explain your positive experiences in "Bertha". Let us hold out hope that your good encounters will continue. We hope only for good and positive encounters for you.
I'm 57, grew up in NH, gotta agree with you about the rudeness, I greet everyone I meet on the sidewalk, the number of people who won't even look at me, let alone make eye contact, breaks my heart.
Junk Pile O Matic It is the same in the West. The middle of the country people are down to earth, hard working people who will give you there last dime or the shirt off their backs. It is a slower more calm feeling there and way more polite than he East or West Coast. In California they will look you straight in the eye and run you down with their car and keep on going. Calif has just initiated a reward system for people who turn in to the police anyone who has or may have been involved in a hit and run accident. They are even soliciting the body shops to turn in any of these creeps.
Eric, I LOL'd at this video for a few reasons.. Your red pee bottle jug keeps making appearances in random places.. You should name it ..... bawahaha.. Stay safe buddy!
What will be the future plans, stay in the van or get another RV? Seem to be putting lots of work into the van. Can't wait till I get my van and get started.
Hey Eric. Sounds like your drivers door could use a little white lithium grease. Will make it last longer too. Can get at any auto parts store or prolly even Walmart. Your new cooler has to be great. Beats having to stop for ice and empty water out of a conventional cooler. Cheers. Don't let no lady take Jax,,, lol ;)
Hey as a reminder I sent you a ton of info on stuff going on this weekend here in Nashville via Facebook message I hope info is helpful. again it would be cool to meet ya someday . They have races at speedway at Nashville flea market that is this weekend I sent you link I thought you may enjoy that
Is that fridge going to make the van hot by venting it inside the van? Are you going to keep it on all the time? I mean that would be great in the winter, but summer?
Jazzie Red Refrigerators absorb heat, condense it and relocate it outside the box, so there wont be any additional heat added to the van. It's most efficient when kept full with already cold product. It's beneficial to get beer from the cooler and use the fridge to maintain the temp.
Occasionally, I have people ask me if I would ever sell my dog or should I ever give her away, they would be more than happy to rehome her. I take it as a compliment now; people appreciate a good animal.
ERIC!??? I'm currently shopping for a fridge for my expediting van, I know and realize this is an OLLLLD video of yours, lol. But how did this fridge do for you long term as you progressed??? I see a few other RVers/vanners have these as well but everything im seeing is old concerning reviews, what happened w/ yours long term? Thank you in advance!
What do you think of not only hiding the fridge as mentioned before, but the front passenger side seat is gone so how about adding a lazy boy recliner there which you could face towards the back this way you could (with a TV arm extension) completely sit feel more comfortable watch TV or surfing your laptop (rather then be sitting on your bed)all of the time?
Start The Rebellion Not so. The math show that the unit should only run 20% of the time with an outside temp of 86 dig F at 35 watts( from Dometic's web site) You assume it runs 24hr (all the time) but it will cyclical on and off with the T-stat.
Start The Rebellion NOMINAL 12V DC 3.1 A =37 watts at 20% or so. All I'm saying is it should work just fine in any weather he's in with just the panels. I don't think he uses that much power for the other stuff. Don't forget at night it cooler too so less power use for the refer.
Start The Rebellion I have a bigger fridge, 100ah battery and 100w panel. It can manage to just about support its self even here in the UK (throughout the summer). Cant see eric having a problem, every time he shows us its making more then 6A on the panels. Plus as said it only runs around 20% of the time, and probably 10% on a night. By most mornings at 11am the battery is being boosted at 14.4 again for me. So from my experience, Eric can run that fridge and charge gadgets easily! As i manage on a much smaller system.
Hey how do you like that fridge? I'm putting together a van myself and am researching different fridges. I'm about to put together the electric for the van, so I I figured it'd be best to learn my draw. thanks
I've got a question for you: If it's a rainy day and you're kind of stuck in your van. You're tired of the entertainment you've got in your van and you're bored. Does this happen often and what are you most likely to do to remedy this? Where are you likely to go?
People are friend too because my friend, you are in the South. We are all friendly down here. In Ky myself! Safe travels!
I think the reason people love it is because it looks like the A-Team van. Great conversation piece!!!
Lucky Punk To 😎 Mr. T Van ... Tribute 😂😂😂
Jax is the star of this journey, can not be given away what so ever ! Very nice set-up...
Maybe the people seem more friendly because you are way happier and could be giving off a much more approachable vibe. Linda Harrison Thank you for noticing. :) You guys make me happy too.
Jax is anticipating some very codon bleu meals to be served now there's a good fridge in the home.
Who wouldn't fall in love with that little cat, eh?

Glad I could help Eric! Safe travels.
Proud to be one of the first 10 viewers of this video. I want to say thanks Eric for making these videos. You're inspiring me to go for my goals like you did, but in a sport. So thank you for that and keep on travelin'!
Ohh yeah. This is a classic Nomadic Fanatic vid. Back on the road. Fridge looks awesome. The van looks more and more homely.
Well...being a "handy-man" definitely pays off!! It sure makes life easier, if you know how to repair things yourself. You have that huge advantage on your side!!
Sharp looking little fridge. Hope it lasts you a good, long while. (:
I'm in awe of the wood-work in your van-real craft-work!!!!
Nice video, Eric. Digging the Positive Vibe.
Excellent score on the mini fridge. Would be great for weekend camping and tailgating.
Happy Trails!
Looks like you have enough refreshment to make it thru another dry Sunday.

Good to have the cold ones back.. well done.

Might be bushing that's out of whack in the door hinge too. If it doesn't bother him then why fix it? It might add to the character of the van.
Lol at 6:50. Just for future reference, doors marked pull reduce the speed of those who push before they read. ;)

The one side the vent would go into the space where passengers legs used to go and the other side you could store things lower as long as they didn't go up past where the vent is... and technically whatever platform you build could have storage underneath for things you don't need to access as often etc
i use a small credit union and while there are not many branches out of IN and IL... they partner all over the country with credit unions... so i can still access everything most wherever i am by just finding the local credit union. took me years to know that was an option though!
WHAT!! Did that lady say give away Jax! LOL What was she smoking? hehehehe
We really like the new refrigerator, perfect size for the van.
Doing laundry at coin washers is the only downer in my mind when my better half and I get on the road. We can put a washer dryer in our new fifth wheel but we do not want to pull that extra weight and the size of the washers are small. Kind of a waste of water to only be able to do tiny loads at a time.
Glad to see you smiling Eric and Jax meowing with joy.
He seems to have gotten use to his new privy location, that is super cool.
Happy trails to you both.
Charles and Janet : }
Suzan Allen We did not put in the washer and dryer, we will use that space for storage.
Ubique Conscient That sounds great but my days of that kind of manual labor are over. I will use the coin washers. LOL : }
LeonRFpoa That's what I have, use, and reviewed.
The friendliness; it's because of your changes in latitudes, Eric. That's why I want to leave North Mexico, Tejas, and get back up north.
I can't get enough of your videos, 😆😊
I enjoy what you are doing! If you ever come my way we have room and you can chill out! Here in Eureka CA. Thanks for your time.
However, the video from austrailia shows 50 degrees below ambient which scares me.
good video, really liked the night driving scenes
Hope you stayed warm overnight in the van if you're still in Nashville. We hit a low of 22F.
Sher Thom OH yeah it was cold. Had to buy a heater.
Nomadic Fanatic electric or propane? assuming propane.
👊😎👊 nice refrigerator Eric. 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐
Eric your night driving,as I was watching ahead of you it appears your left head light should be reset a little to the left, closer to the center of the llane.:)
Pizza is it's OWN food group! What ya talkin about Eric?? I miss pizza so much! LOL!
Nice fridge I have been ooggaling them for the last year just cant seem to get the monies together to get one please keep us updated I want to know how many days you can keep it going you do have solar so that should make it interesting on run time....
Nomad Expedition Van Gimme one more week for a good review. :)
even a month later would do I have heard these fridges are awesome....
Nice! I gotta get me one of those, my fridge is crap.
lol @ the lady wanting your cat XDD
Nice fridge Eric let us know how that works out......
When I lived in Tn anyone that was giving away pets puppies and kittens went to walmart parking lot and sat there to do it every walmart had someone there giving away pets
Rich Bolton Oh ok. I guess I've seen that too.
They still do.
Junk Pile O Matic hey man we nice in canada we gave u guys justin bieber and ted cruz :P u are welcome haha :D lmao
Methos Films That wasn't very nice, giving us Bieber. But yeah, NB, NS, NF, PEI, I'd say they're mostly good, friendly people. ;)
MotherOfManyHorses don't forget we gave you Captain Kirk! (William Shatner) lol
Allen Puckett lol. I promise you won't see it again. You would not believe the amount of red pee bottle critisism I've recieved this week. lol
Nomadic Fanatic Hey I use those Arizona plastic bottles.. .. We do what we got to do...
You going have to adjust your headlights they're pointing off to the right and bring them up an inch.
Jax cracks me up on the outro
What will be the future plans, stay in the van or get another RV? Seem to be putting lots of work into the van. Can't wait till I get my van and get started.
Hey Eric. Sounds like your drivers door could use a little white lithium grease. Will make it last longer too. Can get at any auto parts store or prolly even Walmart. Your new cooler has to be great. Beats having to stop for ice and empty water out of a conventional cooler. Cheers. Don't let no lady take Jax,,, lol ;)
Going to Nashville, are you going to check out the Grand Ole Opry???
Looks like you're making progress🐱
Haha!!! We's thought you was giving that cat away! :)
Hey as a reminder I sent you a ton of info on stuff going on this weekend here in Nashville via Facebook message I hope info is helpful. again it would be cool to meet ya someday . They have races at speedway at Nashville flea market that is this weekend I sent you link I thought you may enjoy that
:)
Is that fridge going to make the van hot by venting it inside the van? Are you going to keep it on all the time? I mean that would be great in the winter, but summer?
Jazzie Red I don't really feel much heat coming from it, and yes I'll keep it on 24 hours a day. I plan to keep milk and eggs in there too.
Nomadic Fanatic That is good. You won't be boling Jax out!! :) I adore him!!
Jazzie Red
Refrigerators absorb heat, condense it and relocate it outside the box, so there wont be any additional heat added to the van.
When in Nashville...hit the Johnny Cash Museum. When I went through it was closed. I missed it
Eric, have you thought of hanging the guitar under your upper bunk shelf?
Any possible way to but the fridge in the above or below the battery compartment? Just a thought Eric?
hotmasked1 Actually, it would fit now that I look, but I use it so often, I'd rather it be easier to get to and closer to the door. But good idea!
Would love to meet ya my friend still in Nashville TN
Very good Vlog...How do you take a Shower, or wash up?
You are only 45 min from Nashville I used to drive that route every day twice to and from work
Love that fridge!
Looking good!
Eric, do you know how much current the new cooler is pulling? Looks like a good addition to the van but not if it depletes the battery bank too much.
Dennis Senecaut I bought it based on what reviews said about it's draw. 5amps while cooling at the max, 2.4 to maintain.
As i manage on a much smaller system.
i would love to have a fridge like that !!!!!!!!!!!
Hey how do you like that fridge? I'm putting together a van myself and am researching different fridges. I'm about to put together the electric for the van, so I I figured it'd be best to learn my draw. thanks
Liquor store!!!! Laudromat!!!! What more could you ask for???
I've got a question for you:
If it's a rainy day and you're kind of stuck in your van. You're tired of the entertainment you've got in your van and you're bored. Does this happen often and what are you most likely to do to remedy this? Where are you likely to go?
