Awesome vid. I'm in a small house with very little storage and one bathroom with no spot to put a catbox, so I did the same for my cats. Put the catboxes in a cabinet and then cut a hole in the door, works great. I don't see the mess, they have privacy. Everyone is happy.

Van's getting nicer everyday! You've now got electricity, a generator, solar and batteries, a kitchen, tv, toilet and a fridge tomorrow. Everything's there! Great job!
the first video I watched of yours. Now I've grown from not only enjoying your travels, but watching hope you've become so successful on RUclips! You're a Rockstar Eric!
I would never believed how much you can do with such a small space but your doing great and if you had the Tilly back you'd be lost in all the Space. Ha Really love the look its got now. Really nice. Good Job.
Eric, I have a suggestion. Budget for a week and at a motel. Clean everything out of the van into the motel room. Use wood cleaner to clean every inch of the wood, then prime, then paint all the wood with a washable white paint. It would make the red carpet pop :) ;) A week in a motel would give the paint fumes time to leave the vehicle. Then upgrade your bedding...I know guys don't care about bedding :) Find a coordinating bedding set with 2 shames & 2 pillows and sheets. Then install your signs :) :). It is your home so small touches help.
Nomadic Fanatic I think a nice stain with polyurethane would look better myself. Enjoying watching these videos. Don't think I've seen one shot of you struggling to start this van!
Sounds like a good idea. Only thing is couldnt the paint could be a potential problem for Jax. Animals are much more sensitive to chemicals than we are.
Puuuurrrrr GENIUS! Hi Jax! I, too, was worried about the edges of Jax's litter box. I know you will fix that! Over all, GREAT JOB Eric! Love the red. It makes everything POP!
Eric, This video was REALLY GOOD! I started watching a couple of months ago and now have watched all of your videos that you recently posted. Your new van is looking really great and should take you on all of your upcoming adventures. An van like yours should not be called a "van" but an "adventure vehicle"! Bob Palm Springs, Florida
That is looking much better! Threw me off for a second with the rearrangement but the red carpet really pulled it all back together. It looks sick! & Good thing you got those bad ass batteries. That fridge should be no problem to power. What a relief that must be.
very nice new Van ! , I follow the same way as you since 4 years but in France and in Europe, I watch your videos whenever I can have internet I hope all good for you. continues like this , from France
Hi Eric. Love all your vids. The wheels on the van go round and round .... Just a thought on Jax litter box... I would try just cutting the front down far enough so he can get in and out but leave the sides and back uncut so less chance for spillage. And maybe put some kind of material like the red carpet for instance on the cut edge so Jax doesn't scrape his tummy,,, just a thought.
I really like the stealthy cat litter box! I will probably do this when I eventually get a van. I have a 6 year old black female cat. I have been watching your videos and am gleaning a lot of ideas from them. I watched the one with the satellite TV. I didn't realize that I could get that while on the road. I will definitely look into it and put it in my budget. Thanx for all your videos!
You're really getting it together Eric. Hey,when I saw Jax in his bathroom(very cool btw) I thought about that cupboard being lined with a plastic, you know,in case there's a freak miss on an unexpected corner it wont soak into that wood, just a thought,
I was going to suggest the same! The box itself will have to be scooped out after every visit by Jax because it's too dang small, and he will only be able to use it with his body facing the front. By all means, line that interior because you can be 100% sure there will be sprays and such outside the box. I wonder if Jax will even use it, or instead do his business on Eric's bed!
Hi Eric. The Van is looking great. I watch your videos daily. At the end of your videos when Jax meows my cat TJay starts to look around and starts running around looking for the meow, :) Happy safe travel.
Oh Eric..what a FUN video to watch! You're such a homebody and so creative. And you always think about how to make things work for Jax, too. Put a BIG SMILE on my face. Thank you. (:
I am beginning to like this thing lol, we are seeing more outside videos as I suspected we would when he got the van, but at least he is still keeping it interesting. Nice looking interior.
Eric, it has been suggested that you paint the interior of the van. I think that would take away from how cool it looks now. I'd use polyurethane or oil to bring out the wood grain and protect it. They suggested painting the litter box cabinet, but that would leave an odor/fumes that might deter Jax from going there since cats have such a strong sense of smell. I would tack up something on the walls...just a thought. The red carpet is a great enhancement. I always look forward to your videos and wish you the best.
U will see this note to u is 5 years later. I missed this video. Just for sure I will always respect and care for u n Jax😘. U two r always like family. God speed
I really like the red carpet. Very nice touch. Your a great guy Eric and inspire me to move on with my plans for a van life. Now, I am not going to say I could live in a van, I figure I need a motorhome, I just have too much stuff. Looks like you are a little crowded for a van yourself. But I am sure you will get it all worked out.
I have been arm chair traveling with you and Jax for some time now. I want to tell you that your not my son, but if you were I am so proud of how you have handled your life so far. I'm looking for my own granny old lady stealth van, and maybe we can meet up along life's path, and I will cook you a healthy dinner.
The carpet does suite the RV! It actually look's really nice, should do the whole floor in it. Just an idea, You might want to sand the plastic edges of the kitty litter so Jax doesn't cut himself on them. Loving the videos!! :)
Hello to you & jax from New Zealand, van looking awesome carpet fab 👌great job you have done, looking forward to your next video, heaps & heaps of pats & cuddles for jax 😊
Jax needs a bigger litter box, look it up...good idea but he needs more room, better ventilation and most cats won't like their food bowls next to the litter box.
Moving the bowls is not that big a deal, but I agree that lining the cabinet with something would make cleaning up a lot better. A roll of clear or red contact paper would be an easy solution.
Hey Eric! You've been busy! Missed a couple videos as I'm on my first leg of my circular trip around the US! I was able to use one of your tricks for a misbehaving thermostat. Took the cover off & tapped on the on/off switch & it works like a charm. I thought, "Eric taught me that one!"
Hey Eric, love the new stuff you did to the rig. I have a suggestion, if you paint the wheels black, I think you should buy enough paint to do the door jambs and other interior areas that still are tan. I think the solid black with the red carpet would pop and really dress up the rig.
Love the red not permanent carpet, great idea and improvement. Jerks will be jerks and if you can get out of the way of their jerky ways it is better for you and Jax. Hope Jax likes his out of the way stealth litterbox. Eric I too am a fan of those storage bins that I can mark on the outside what is in them and keep like things together in them.
Jax is incredibly vocal. He's a good looking boy, and you two have a Fantastic friendship together. My Duchess has his coloring and spots on her belly and she also loves being cradled like a baby...though she is not as big as Jax. Safe travels along your journeys.
The carpet makes the Van look so much more homely, you should do the whole thing! Maybe put down some velcro on the floor, just staple some strips down, so that the carpet can be secure, but still easily removable. Also not sure how the fuel system works, but you could put a T-Piece after the fuel pump with a valve that lets you drain some fuel easier. Saves you getting a syphon out each time and people thinking you are stealing gas, and saves you buying a syphon.
Eric, Could you redrill the hole in the insert on your luggage rack and get rid of the gap between the platform and the bumper? You might have to saw off a bit of the insert too. It would look pretty slick without the gap, and shorten the overall vehicle length a bit.
holy cow I like the new look so much. Maybe you should do a few vids about space planning in vans and small rvs. You have a real nice knack of using the space. So now it's "Jax in a box" lol
The van is really coming together, great idea for the litter box. I would steer away from the gas siphon idea or look into a really good transfer pump. It’s very easy to make a mess or worse get some on yourself, which would suck without a shower. Also a bit non-stealth if people think you’re stealing gas from the A-team! Love seeing you back on the road buddy!
Looks really good :) Love the signs. Maybe you could use one of those guitar wall hangers and put it on your battery cabinet door and bungee it so it doesn't move around when driving?
Cute 😻. Good idea for literbox! Yeah it's gotta be hard to have a cat in a van when it comes to literbox . But your cat seems to be totally happy & at home😸
Eric, That was a great vedio. The Van looks good like that.Yes, it goes good with the outside red strip of the Van.But your Rims should be black.2 cans should do it.Jack must be happy, he has his own bathroom.Eric, what happen to the outside Shower.I don't see it.Anyways thanks for the vedio.Keep in touch.
Love the red shag carpet....you should go all the way to the back with it, then get a nice light cherry stain for all the wood work in the van- that would look sweet!!!!!
Cool idea for the stealth litter box.... I think Jax will like it. Question.... how did you and Jax find one another? Would like to see an episode about that. Safe travels and hope you new refrigerator works great for you.
As far as garbage, nearly all major stores have garbage cans outside in parking lot or door entry. I never carry any large bags. The smaller the better. I also carry a Hanes or Chilton book on my vehicle. You Tube is great for videos about auto repairs. Some of the burns you get are avoidable. #1 Never, never let your cash leave your hand until the deal is completed. I don't believe in deposits. Except, for any work that I do for someone else. Thanks for your vlog. It's entertainment and informational. Glad you have a support base. I am 66 yrs and a stealth lifestyle since my early 30s when it dawned on me that I was paying for someone else's property by renting it. Many campers, RVs, and other vehicles later, I can say I am happy with the choice.
The van is looking really good, I have been very impressed with how you made the best out of that van. The only thing about the van I never liked is the fact the bed takes up too much real estate . I know it's already built in, but it would have been more practical if the bed would convert or fold up like a couch during the day. That would give you more floor space.
Well it's done but if it were me, I would have not put the litter box that close to the cooking area. Even though it's covered, there still the opening around the gas top etc. I wonder why there isn't some kind of toilet-litter box combo that you two could share, in the back area of the van? That way it's away from the food prep area and you could clean both out together.
i wasnt fond of red shag carpet at first, but once you got it in there, it rocks! I forgot about the red stripe on the outside. Its starting to look like home.
Worked well. I had a small wood cube table with a hole cut out in front to match the opening of litter box. So, I could pull it up and off, change the litter and put the wood table back over to hide the whole box. It was pretty and the cats used the top to lay on.
Looks awesome eric i really love your van the black and red is my favourite i will be getting a van in october can't wait myself awesome you and jt have inspired me.
Good work, so far on new rig. I;m very interested in the performance of your new elec. frig Your new solar system has the robustness to test it out under real life RV'ing without fear of dead bats. Unlike part time loads like TV's & chargers, the frig is a more constant demand and will vary in draw according to ambient temperature and use. Great test bed for all of us. If you can get a rough idea of how many amp/hours you consume each day just on frig., it would be an excellent dimensioning tool for others who are considering going elec. Since you are pretty much on the road for now, the engine should do most of the charging. I will be modifying my B this summer on tube. Great videos.
one thing i have noticed in watching your videos is you have a natural ability, that all the other bug outs dont. which intrigues me, so i keep watching. Its like you were born to do this. Dont take it wrong its a feeling, like a good song makes you feel. But you need some guitar lessons and I love to see Jax fetch. If you ever come through Cochran Ga I got room for a couple maybe three nights free stay but remember i dont have a waste dump facility but there is one rv park down the road a short distance
Love what you're doing with the van. I have one suggestion and one question. If you picked up a couple curtain rods and a few magnets you could make it so the rods go from door to door to hang a tarp over and use the magnets to attach to the door frame. This would give you the option of having the doors open on rainy days so you don't get claustrophobic. I did that back in the day and it really helped make my van more livable Will you still be able to do your background jingle work in the van?
steveoutdoorrec That's a really neat idea! I like it. Yes, I have tested the electrical system for feedback and humming, and it will work just fine as long as I find a quiet remote place away from loud birds. lol.
Very good litter box solution ... I would also suggest some duct tape around the ragged edges of the bin AND when Jax gets used to it, a curtain or flap to hide it from view .... not sure how to engineer it so he can use it & not drag it into the litter box, but you're good with that sort of thing! I'm thinking maybe a curtain with a tie-back to a cup hook on one side that you can close completely when you don't want to look at or have others see the litter box.
watch out about the siphon idea, im not sure if your vehicle has it but some gas tanks(I think its mandatory on newer vehicles) have a ball at the tank so if you roll over the gas cant escape, etc. so you cant get a siphon down into the tank if you have that ball.
great job on the carpet..... Hope you can find another piece to finish the look.... I have the problem of finding something I like and wanting to get another and where ever I bought the item. they don't have or sell it again....Walmart is good for that....Happy trails to you....:}
Red shag looks great! Really brightens the interior. Enjoyed this video.
you are adding your own personality to your camper ,which is good, keep up the good work, or having fun doing it.don't stop.
The red carpet looks great and Jax is soo cute! Looking forward to the next video.
Great job!
I love it. Jaxs gets the red carpet treatment every time he has to go.
***** Haha.
Ha ha
***** We use a wheat husk/corn natural litter and it has no smell even if your head is in the box. It's very expensive though.
Vonnie Dasher
Vonnie, do you have any problems with pests getting into that litter? Someone else mentioned it might draw mice.
***** You clearly deserve having an animal in your life... NOT
If all animals, domesticated or not, belong outside, why do you live inside then?
Jax is great at the end of this video! I like the red carpet it adds sophistication and class to your van
It's coming together nicely! Great idea about Jax's throne. Looks more spacious. Stay safe and continue to stay positive.
the first video I watched of yours. Now I've grown from not only enjoying your travels, but watching hope you've become so successful on RUclips! You're a Rockstar Eric!

ProvidingResources That sounds really cool. I think I'll wait til I get to Washington State before tackling anything that big, but great idea!
Nomadic Fanatic White paint on the interior will make it feel more roomie too. Mirrors do wonders as well.
Nomadic Fanatic I think a nice stain with polyurethane would look better myself. Enjoying watching these videos. Don't think I've seen one shot of you struggling to start this van!
UPMiner 616
I agree...and do it before Jax pees on it in his bathroom...the smell will never could out of unsealed wood. What was Eric thinking?
Sounds like a good idea. Only thing is couldnt the paint could be a potential problem for Jax. Animals are much more sensitive to chemicals than we are.
Puuuurrrrr GENIUS! Hi Jax! I, too, was worried about the edges of Jax's litter box. I know you will fix that! Over all, GREAT JOB Eric! Love the red. It makes everything POP!
Loving the modifications! Great to have the kitty box out of the way and that carpet makes the van look very homey!
Loving the new van buddy! One of a kind van for a one of a kind individual. Thanks for sharing and great general tips.
Eric,
This video was REALLY GOOD! I started watching a couple of months ago and now have watched all of your videos that you recently posted. the van is looking great & I love the red carpet! also, what a great idea with the litter box... never would have thought of that .
Fun! I found a very old video and much younger JaX and You! 👍😃 even back then very good! Thank You👍
Hi Eric. Love all your vids. The wheels on the van go round and round .... Just a thought on Jax litter box... You're really getting it together Eric.
Hey,when I saw Jax in his bathroom(very cool btw) I thought about that cupboard being lined with a plastic, you know,in case there's a freak miss on an unexpected corner it wont soak into that wood, just a thought,
Blinky Cat I thought the same. If the sides of the bin were left higher, that would help. Now to go clean my cat's box...
Jim Rockford I was just trying to be helpful. What did he use?A cupboard's a great idea that I'm thinking about using for my 2 cats
Or next time leave the plastic sides and back higher when cutting the bin.
I have three cats. I need an entire set of cupboards lol
Thank you. (:
JIm...I want to help, but I can't see them anymore. Any suggestions?
I am beginning to like this thing lol, we are seeing more outside videos as I suspected we would when he got the van, but at least he is still keeping it interesting. Nice looking interior.
Nice.. Your van is beginning to look like a home.. Love the red carpet... Good idea with Jax litter box..
-Looks Great. What a trooper your cat is! It's great he is so relaxed with your on-the-road life1
I like what you are doing with the van, you are pretty good at making mods and improvising.
eric i give you 5 stars,,the red carpet looks great,,the van looks great,,good job ,,bro

LOVE LOVE LOVE RED! LOOKS GREAT AND I LOVE YOUR FLOOR PLAN.
Nice mods. I can't wait to see your venting ideas for your fridge. They get quite hot in the summer.
or just run a strip of electrical tape along the top edge and fold it over both sides :) use red vinyl tape instead for a more custom look !
your home is looking great.
True that. For a 23 pound cat, that box is too small. And cats hate to pee and poop next too where they eat - as do most humans.
Moving the bowls is not that big a deal, but I agree that lining the cabinet with something would make cleaning up a lot better. A roll of clear or red contact paper would be an easy solution.
Why don't you come on over, give me a good spanking - you know you want to...... and I want you too...... you big hunky sexy boy....
He can't watch..... I'd let Jax videotape, maybe..... 1,000,000 views on that one alone. Subscribership would triple.

The van is starting to look really good. I don't know if you really need another RV at this point. You're doing really good with just the van. :3
Love the clean look with the red carpet....
I love that van Eric, it is soooo kool looking. I wish you still had it...
Jax is such a pretty cat, he's a good companion for you. I like the van much better than Tilly. The gas mileage has got to be so much better
Love the red carpet look and JAX new litter box !
WTG Eric !!
Eric, Could you redrill the hole in the insert on your luggage rack and get rid of the gap between the platform and the bumper? You might have to saw off a bit of the insert too.

the van is looking great
Hi Eric and Jax. I have just found this older vlog. You have coe a long way since this. I love the "sexy" red carpet pal. LOL Old but gold pal.
I wonder if Jax liked his new litter box ?
The red carpet did make it look clean for sure.
Its nice taking a look back... neat! You been there... done that..
Eric, That was a great vedio. The Van looks good like that.Yes, it goes good with the outside red strip of the Van.But your Rims should be black.2 cans should do it.Jack must be happy, he has his own bathroom.Eric, what happen to the outside Shower.I don't see it.Anyways thanks for the vedio.Keep in touch.
thats awesome man you earned a new sub you should put more red carpet in the back it looks awesome
Van is looking really good happy van ventures may the force be with you O be one
Love the red shag carpet....you should go all the way to the back with it, then get a nice light cherry stain for all the wood work in the van- that would look sweet!!!!!
Yeah. That cherry stain WOULD really make it look nice! Good idea
Just so you know, for $5 you can have anything shipped through any carrier to any UPS store. Most towns have one, hope that helps.
cracked me up...."I cant go while youre looking at me" lol
That red looks good. Love your cat. Now I see a cat could travel around!
Cool idea for the stealth litter box.... I think Jax will like it. Question.... how did you and Jax find one another? Would like to see an episode about that. Safe travels and hope you new refrigerator works great for you.

You could do with putting a split piped edge on that litter bucket Eric, Take that sharp edge off so jax,s don,t get cut up.....just an idea eric
nice upgrades...especially the litter box
Eric I like the new little box for Jax man great idea. Also I like your taste in metal signs. CHEER"S bro
Yes that red carpet looks fantastic in there. Even if you didn't have anything red on the door that's carpet looks good
Good modifications, man.
Happy Camping!

Hi nomatic fanatic I have watched every one of your videos and I like every one
That's gonna be a sweet setup man, nice work.
Very nice Eric!! Enjoyed the video! Safe and happy travels! :)
Man, I kinda miss this old van. I know the class c fits your needs better but this van would be perfect for me personally
Eric you should get some good quality black paint and paint the door jams along with the step, that would really make that red carpet POP!
Dude this van is you...cool ideas...
looking good.really enjoy the videos
Nice job your new rigs looking great
i love your fan, its my dream to have the size of your van and driving to where ever i want.
Great video. The van looks awesome! Clever spot for the litterbox. Did Jax approve? Excellent use of your space. Thanks for the video.
The red carpet looks good.
Good on ya, nice job. Jax 's poop house looks good smart idea. Your van looks like home enjoy
I did that back in the day and it really helped make my van more livable
Will you still be able to do your background jingle work in the van?
steveoutdoorrec That's a really neat idea! I like it. Yes, I have tested the electrical system for feedback and humming, and it will work just fine as long as I find a quiet remote place away from loud birds. lol.
Nice man! Love the progress
I am catching up with you.... better start super posting. LOL. The van IS looking pretty good!
great job on the carpet..... Hope you can find another piece to finish the look.... I have the problem of finding something I like and wanting to get another and where ever I bought the item. they don't have or sell it again....Walmart is good for that....Happy trails to you....:}
