- Low Flow Valve for Drip Irrigation Valve
Unique "double-knife" diaphragm coupled with 1/2 in. diameter seat for flawless operation at low flow rates
External bleed to manually flush the system of dirt and debris during installation and system start-up
Internal bleed for spray-free manual operation
The only valves in the industry made specifically for drip irrigation systems, the unique patented design of the LFV allows it to effectively handle particles at low flow rates. These valves contain all of the features of reliable Rain Bird DV valves, coupled with a unique diaphragm design that allows particles to pass through at extremely low flow rates, preventing weeping of the valve.

This Rainbird valve is used with drip irrigation as it requires low pressure.
Hi @onenikkione it’s a bit confusing. The operating specifications are the same as the standard DV valve, however, this LFV is able to handle debris better. This allows the filter to be installed after the valve, instead of before the valve.
two years later and still no diaphragms available?
What options do we have? Buy the entire unit and only take the diaphragm out?
When do you recommend using this type of valve LFV or what type of applications
Great question, @mikealfa1984.
This valve is design for low-flow zones (as low as 0.20gpm). When the flow rate is very low, valves can to stick open if debris is caught in the diaphragm.
According the Rain Bid, this valve has a patented diaphragm design that allows particles to pass through at extremely low flow rates, preventing the valve from weeping.
You could also just use a filter…
used in drip irrigation. so not the right valve for a sprinkler system for lawn
Can you manually adjust the flow rate? If so, how do you do it? Thanks!
While a lot of valves have a flow control feature that allows to to fine tune the flow rate coming through the valve, these particular valves do not offer that feature. You can usually identify a valve right away that has the flow control feature - it will have a knob usually dead center of the top of the valve that you turn to adjust the flow rate.
part number on the diaphragm?
We’ll take a look
