A new Friday Feature? This is becoming a habit. Have you caught our recent Friday Features? Here's another on impossible minigames: ruclips.net/video/IiLfUqE-tEo/видео.html
Point 6 is absolutely perfect. After a certain length of time in an RPG, I start to care less about what my companions say and just speed read the subtitles content and use them as content filler. Other points also spot on but point 6 really spoke to me
This is actually a good habit (although save in a different slot). One of the things I discovered when beta-testing DAI was that 2 autosaves in a row will often both try to load, and if the game crashes, the autosave will bug (this is especially so when you're doing a "judgement" at Skyhold). This was never fixed. As a result, I now save manually and also delete the autosave so this cannot happen.
Well, some games only have a single autosave slot. And if you have multiple game files going on, you can lose progress if you don't have regular manual saves on a file.
Yep. I was in a withdrawal when it changed or just straight up not being made. Glad they continued with the Friday Features. All is right with the world again
Damn this is me in Genshin. When I'm done I always fly back to Qingyun Peak and make the trek up to the Adepti Abode, sit on the stone bench and save there. I don't know why, just feels like home to me I guess.
I named her 'Megan'. But was forced to mercilessly toss her into the incinerator. I'm a monster, and the guilt of that moment haunts me to this day... Thanks GLaDoS!
I actually restarted Witcher 3 very quickly into my first playthrough after my companion scolded me for killing a monster for free. I'm one of those "kindness over all" players and I hadn't played the first two games and wasn't aware of Geralt's absolute mercenary mindset, so I started over and stayed in character by demanding money for every monster slain. After a few hours of being verbally abused by every passing NPC I got over my guilt pretty easily.
As a fellow double saver I feel strangely validated. So stoked for the return of the Friday feature. Dave’s tally boards might be one of the best running jokes with no dialogue on the channel.
Break all the things, hoard useless items, never use good items, determine where the goal is and go the other direction, talk to everyone along the way and reluctantly be the good guy… for trophies. Damn that eighth habit; trophy hunting
In a lot of games the junk you get from box smashing is actually... generic currency that you can stack huge piles of. So yeah you don't really fill up on that.
Hitting Square. Reloading after even just a single shot fired in pretty much any game with guns has begun so baked into my muscle memory that it infects other games. I've tried to reload my lightsabre in Jedi Survivor more times than I care to admit and it's cost me dearly in Helldivers because when you reload, you don't just replace the rounds you've used. Oh no, you bin the rest of the mag. (tldr, reloading)
Bloody hell, this touched a nerve! I have come to realise, I’m a chronic inventory organiser. All of my inventories are organised by element, weapon type or strength, health or some other random categories I place on myself. My No Man’s Sky inventory is a thing of beauty 😂
Some people let the game choose where their looted/crafted items go. I've peeked at their inventories a few times, and it's terrifying. What kind of psychopath mixes their potions?!
Yup, ALL of the above. I personally also have the really bad habit of never using my healing items in JRPGs, I will play any Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Breath of Fire, Kingdom Hearts, etc., and never use a Potion, Ether, Elixir, or Phoenix Down, because I might need it later for the final boss and even then, end up not using it because you never know.
Yeah, I got to the point where in every game I'd end up with 99 of every healing item. After 20 years of gaming, I'm now at the point where I can convince myself to sell off any inventory above 50 if I know the game and that doesn't include cabins or elixirs. Even in FF12 when it is almost never better to use items over magic.
A habit I have is hoarding all level up resources until like halfway through, and then using them all once I get to a point where it gets too hard for me to continue. Totally new game at that point
Rob is absolutely smashing these Friday features! Honestly, he could talk about ‘Best Video Game Poop’ and i’d eagerly sit and listen to every word 😄👏🏻
The Friday Features are SO well written, SO artfully crafted, SO magnificently executed. They always make me laugh, regardless of what else is going on in my life. It is impossible to overstate how that "Hello, you've caught me..." immediately lifts my mood. I can't help but smile, knowing that I'm in for a treat. If we measure art by how it evokes emotions, soothes us and helps us go on with our lives, then these are genuinely an art form.
Can I just acknowledge that these new videos have been brilliant. They were great already, but it feels like there's all this new energy and creativity and its really bloody fab to see!
I also spread my save files over many slots as I always expect corruption of save files. It rarely ever happened to me but when it did I was glad that I had at least one other file to fall back to.
Honestly, I have been enjoying the Friday features recently. They're as perfect as the peak days, and I'm absolutely loving it. Keep up the good work, guys. For the rest of the channels trying to become as good as PlayStation Access, I have some wisdom to offer. GIT GUD!
I have really missed watching Rob deliver these lists weekly! Always amazing to see the crew having fun. Robs degree in English really shows and he is always so poetic and precise with his words. Love it! Keep it up guys!
I'm already starting to sound like a broken record, but another fantastic Friday Feature. You're absolutely smashing it with the return of these - relatable, humorous, and tremendous use of subtle, clever and obvious laughs. This woven in with the skits, tallyboards, "imaginary friends"...ah...chef's kiss.
@@MrFreeth26 Thanks, Mr Freeth. Personally, I'm just grateful for the Friday Features, and I think it would be a bit too bold to wish for One on Onesie as well. To me, that - and Access Granted more generally - was more a Nath and Dave thing, and with Nath no longer a permanent on-camera member, I just enjoy his cameos when and if they arrive.
I can pinpoint my need to explore every inch of a map before continuing to Star Ocean: Til the End of Time, which gave you a percentage on screen of how much of the map was explored. And saving twice takes me back to the days of memory cards, and when auto-saves werent a thing. “I’ll save on this card…better save to second card in case the first gets corrupted or is otherwise messed up”
6:30 This reminds me of how much it hurt my soul when Dave started selling old early weapons/equipment in his FFVII stream. It was like breaking some unspoken law of gaming. Dave, how could you.
As an "older" gamer.. I am, and have always been guilty of every single one of these "habits". They have, as you said become safety nets of pure goodness and have never let me down. Now to save again in case I didn't already.
My save trauma came about when playing kingdom hearts 1 . Was in hollow bastion , had only one save file, went to save and while i was saving , lost power along with my save data 😭 had to redo everything
The saving the starting gear in an rpg hit so home😂 i played through all of FF7 rebirth with clouds buster sword, only changing it when i got a new weapon to get that ability and then go back to the buster sword
In destiny after a few years they added a new exotic rifle BUT you needed the starting gun to forge it . And how many players kept that gun when you have limited storage .😳
Not quite boxes, but whenever I visit Costa Del Sol, Cloud will be smashing all the tables and chairs...while passers-by call him a "God on Wheels" 😂😂 It's just so satisfying
I 100% agree on all of them. It's basicaly me playing. Another habit is, replaying the tutorials, even if I knew all the stuff already, just to have the strange impression I would learn a 'secret' trick/hint/tipp or even mechanic, I didn't know before, though I maybe even finished the game once. Nice video !😂😂
The bit about insisting on manually double-saving caused me to have an epiphany: I think my trust issues as an adult all stem from playing Fallout New Vegas on PS3 as a kid, and never having any idea whether checkpoints or autosaves would work, not work, or just cause the system to crash for the lolz.
completely on your side. can't resist smashing crates, can't stop saving more than once (in fallout 4 I save three times when I close the game and twice every other time I save), talking to every companion if something happened in the game.....but I rarely if ever refuse a quest reward. But I'm neutral good to neutral evil irl too. Another habbit I'm happy never to quit: watching friday features. Really happy to have you back Rob.
No one will ever tell me a good reason that Link should not destroy every pot, box, blade of grass, chus. The last ones particularly fun in Majora's Mask as Goron Link with spikes.
1:52 I remember the dead end room in Bloodborne filled with jars, and your instinct is to immediately smash them all to bits hoping to see what’s inside, since it’s a FromSoft game. The problem is they are all empty.
I love that Robb is doing the Friday features again! It just hits in that nostalgia nerve. Also Rosie was amazing in this one! Also I love the new Baldur’s Gate 3 tally! I love the channel so much and have never commented but I had to shout out Rosie on this video. Thank you for all the entertainment over the years, you all are awesome!
(Voice of David Attenborough) amd here we see the wild and majestic Rob Pearson calling out every gamer on their pointless gaming habits I'm guilty of 6 of the ones on this list as well as the habit over watching Friday features I'm glad these are back
Lol at map exploration. I taught all my kids to go 'the wrong way on purpose' to find extra items. And oh the misery when you end up dropping down somewhere without being able to go back up, or the dreaded cut scene that whisks you away to another area..
Wanted to add as well that I also horde my ammo, since trophy hunting started i learned that I’ll need extra ammo even if I don’t use all of it because there could be a collectible behind a wall, Tomb Raider 2013 is the beat example for it, limited ammo post story, and then needing an explosive ammo bullet to get behind a metal wall so always good to get into the habit of hording the ammo you also may or may not need in the end
This one thing brings me back to this account with a pure love based fury! The Friday Feature!!!!!!! Mainly because I’m simple af, love lists, and absolutely love Rob (and Delsin). Thank you!!!!!!!
The saving of powerful weapons and ammo is for all of us old school players of older RE games. You just learned that in the end you will have to fight a monster that transforms at least twice and you shouldn’t face it with a knife, so yeah… every single game after that.
Number 1 comes from the habit that we all formed from playing "insert any 'Legend of Zelda' title here" smashing clay pots in the hopes of collecting money and other items; in "A Bard's Tale" if you smash enough barrels and talk to the NPC named the barrel maker he'll complain about how his barrels keep getting smashed, the irony is that you're single-handedly keeping him in business as he has to replace all of the barrels you smash. Sometimes I'll triple-save.
I threw away a unique starting armor in Star Ocean 3, not realizing I needed to synthesize something with it. Locked me out of the 'synth all items' trophy. Never again.
Probably the biggest pointless habbit has got to be reloading your gun no matter how little you fired it. Helldivers has taught me to fully use my magazine before reloading
Habit I am surprised missed the list - the OCD around having properly multiples of 5 (or maybe 3) of items in your inventory. 49 potions? Gotta top up to 50. 17 petals? I'll sell down to 5.
Thank you for bringing back Friday feature. It was missed, and always loved. I still love all your other stuff, but any day Delsin shows up is a good day.
In RPG or as the west calls them now JRPG. I would do a bit of story and then go back to all the villages, citys, areas in the game to talk to every single npc there is, to see if they say any more dialogue and learn more stuff, then back to story and the repeat again, this would take me ages as a kid to do but I had the drive to do it then. Now as an adult I want to do that, I just don't have the energy or time to do that now.
I thought Rob's scriptwriting was getting a little rusty since he mentioned the saving game point twice. But then he cleverly admitted that he mentioned it twice, just like the pointless habit of saving twice. Awesome as always!
Some of my habits are: 1. I have to organize my inventory any time I have one, especially if it's a gride style inventory like Resident Evil or Final fantasy 14. I'm not this organized irl but in games it's like I just see that inventory & have the urge to put everything in a specific order. 2. Restarting a game if my character looks wrong. It could be smallest thing like the hair is a shade off or the nose is slightly off & I will scrap the entire process I've made just to go back to fix my character. 3. Steal everything that isn't nail down & even the nails themselves if I can. Even something shiny will catch my eye & draw me in like Garrett in the thief series. When i see the shiny I must have it even when it's not something I can pick it up
I blame Zelda games for my destructive relationship with containers. I'm sure other games did it before, but Zelda did it best. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go and sate my addiction to destruction and break something. 😎🍻😎
#2.. even with the save file having showing time it was saved, I save it again anyway.. Also, Rdr2. I have to go to the theatre and watch the whole shows. I even make myself a cup of coffee in real life and sit back and watch them
Enjoyed this, Rob! I could relate to double saving (because you don't trust the auto save to do the job), hoarding the items/weapons and catching up with every companion. I felt like it was a target to get to 99 of all items in FF7 and collect the max of each spell in FF8, for example.
Actually we choose the morally good options, because it often gives better and sometimes hidden rewards. Like if you refuse some money sometimes you get a great item instead, that you would've otherwise missed. Or for example if you save the little sisters in Bioshock, you initially get less adam, but every three sisters you save you get a bonus gift, so that your total is a little bit more adam than if you had harvested them. We do it in hopes of better stuff.
Here's one habit for any smokers out there when ur playing an rpg after every battle we take a small smoke break before the next battle or even when u are on the menu prepping ur characters for a big fight we may take a smoke break during that.
Dear @PlayStationAccess. Thank you for almost doing me in with this video. Fortunately, the bite of sandwich I inhaled whist reading 'Crate Expectations' eventually dislodged itself. But not until after much violence and choking laughter. Continue doing the Good Work. (Seriously, give that editor a raise).
As someone who is currently near the end of my first ever play through of dark souls remastered, I can confirm I have died more than a handful of times because my target was the boxes - not the 20 Wheelie Skeletons chasing me 😅 LOVE that these Friday Features are back!!! 😎
i must save 3 times and if im not sure if i have i will restart and save another 3 time. all because one time i thought i had my game saved but when i got on it next it seemed it hadnt saved
A new Friday Feature? This is becoming a habit.

old "habits" die hard...watching THIS friday feature format every week is a habit i will never kick
same
Yep. I was in a withdrawal when it changed or just straight up not being made. Glad they continued with the Friday Features. All is right with the world again
When I’m done with a game, if there’s a hub/base/home/village that the main character can go to, I take them home and save the game there.
Damn this is me in Genshin. When I'm done I always fly back to Qingyun Peak and make the trek up to the Adepti Abode, sit on the stone bench and save there. I don't know why, just feels like home to me I guess.

"What? Those are full party heals I'm not just going to waste them!"
"This is the final boss. And you have 16!"

How DARE Delsin call Rob an "Imaginary animal".

Double jumping every single time I jump whether it is required or not.
We could also add jumping around instead of walking if the game lets you. Especially in MMOs and stuff.
Better to be safe and make the jump than miss it and lose health or a life. Right?
I mean, you gotta make sure you get up the ledge! :D
@@shinrailp1416 Well jumping is an excellent way of testing input lag.

Probably the biggest pointless habbit has got to be reloading your gun no matter how little you fired it. Helldivers has taught me to fully use my magazine before reloading
To be fair, Magnum rounds are a stupidly rare find in RE. Of course I'm gonna hoard em. Lmao.
Habit I am surprised missed the list - the OCD around having properly multiples of 5 (or maybe 3) of items in your inventory. 49 potions? Gotta top up to 50. 17 petals? I'll sell down to 5.
Been really enjoying the return of friday features.
So glad the Friday Features are back 👍
Thank you for bringing back Friday feature.
Those Shinra crates, though... They know what's coming...
In Bards Tale you make a deal with the guy that builds the barrels, you destroy every barrel you see forcing people to buy new ones.
I have the problem of trying to collect every stud possible in the Lego games when I already have more than I would ever possibly need.
When i see the shiny I must have it even when it's not something I can pick it up
For me it’s especially Sora’s keyblade and Cloud’s buster sword. They’re just too iconic to switch out
Bonus points to a game if you can disguise one weapon as another.
I blame Zelda games for my destructive relationship with containers. I'm sure other games did it before, but Zelda did it best. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go and sate my addiction to destruction and break something.
😎🍻😎
Lovely to see Friday Features again! ^_^ ❤
(Sometimes I like to binge them when I'm not feeling well 🙂 )
#2.. even with the save file having showing time it was saved, I save it again anyway..
Getting greedy when you’ve just nearly defeated a boss instead of doing what has been working during that attempt.
The good ol' "Only two more hits and the boss is done for I can do this without wasting the heal"
Famous last words before the rage quit.
Nice to see these back, signals the start of the weekend
Dear @PlayStationAccess. Thank you for almost doing me in with this video. Fortunately, the bite of sandwich I inhaled whist reading 'Crate Expectations' eventually dislodged itself. But not until after much violence and choking laughter. Continue doing the Good Work.
(Seriously, give that editor a raise).
Before starting/purchasing I always check the how long to beat, and a trophy guide to see how hard/long the game will be.
I can’t get that far. I see ps5 games I have to buy them. But then again I work graveyard security shifts. So that’s why I need them
Guys, we are so back! Friday features like this is why I subscribed to the channel. Keep it up Rob, and Delsin Rodent
I love the one that ppl always being quiet in real life during stealth. 😂 . 🎉 . I remember him saying that on an older one.
Just discovered your channel, love it and subscribed. Love the "7 things" videos. The 2x save data in this one had me laughing out loud (in work).
Check for fall damage, check if you can swim, check friendly fire
not only friday features are back, they are also getting increasingly better! love it
i never get tired of watching the Friday features. keep it up Rob
