This is rock and roll, not the crap that passes for popular music today. Grateful to have grown up with it.
These kids today don't know what music is,,,
we had the best music, cars and women.
I grew up on Triumph, I saw them live at the US Festival in 1983, but you are dead wrong that there is no good music being made today. If you look for it, you will find that there is excellent new rock and pop music. Definitely there is a lot of crap coming out, but I hate to tell you, there were performers putting out terrible music back in the 1970s too.
U can never listen to Triumph without getting the magic in ur heart and smiling
❤❤ one of Canada's true gifts to the world
It's great to see younger people enjoying older rock. These were truly the best times.
Rik Emmett is a Treasure and Triumph as a whole were extraordinary they were a Rock & Machine especially Live
I can never watch this performance without getting emotional myself. It is that powerful. And I have seen it dozens of times.
I was there! My 14th birthday no less.
This version is better IMHO,

I watch it every day love it
Fun facts. Triumph (pronounced try-umph) was part of "Heavy Metal Sunday" at the US Festival back in "83. They played an amazing set and I believe they were the fourth band to perform that day/night. The other bands included Quiet Riot, Judas Priest, Ozzy, The Scorpions, and Van Halen. It was 105 degrees outside and nobody seemed to care. The music actually overpowered the sweltering heat. It was a great time to be young and insane and it's nice to see that younger generations are appreciating the soundtrack of the era.
Rock on!
Thank you.✨
I didn’t know all those bands played same day cool and triumph was there awesome
I was there and it was these bands and in this order: Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Triumph, Scorpions & Van Halen. Pretty much the best concert I have attended. I was a senior in high school. We had to drive all night back to norther California as finals were starting. The kicker - tickets were $20!
Even they weren't and never were a metal band.
And undoubtedly the best set of the day , if not the whole festival .
Triumph is/was so underrated
Such a phenomenal band musicians criminally underrated
Great band in my prime concert days. Great song.
That band’s lyrics seem to always have a special meaning. Admiration!
This is my all time favorite song from them. Music does have the power. It can make your day if it has been a bad day. Music has saved my life. If I didn't have music I don't know what or where I'd be today. Keep rockin !!!!
Thank you.✨

Enjoy, be well and stay strong X
Peace!
Yes indeed!!!
Hey Rebeka, I talk to the drummer Gil once in a while as there is a sandwhich shop right where his music and recording studio/school is located as I live right there. These guys live 2 minutes from me in Mississauga, Ontario just west of Toronto. Really great guys, down to earth and friendly with positive vibes. They are so under rated and they have a ton of awesome songs, one of my favourite bands growing up through high school. Just wanted to share that and also, you are in the top three of my favorite reactors!
Thank you.✨
If you see him again m, let him know that there are a lot of people who love his drumming and singing. He does some really great accents and fills, especially of World of Fantasy.
I think he knows that,lol...I see his vehicle there all the time. He spends a lot of time at his school@@TripletDad3
Triumph got me through high school. I didn't make it to the US Festival but I saw them twice on the Thunder Seven Tour in 1985 and once on the Sport of Kings Tour in 1987. They were my band. Thanks for doing these videos.
All of their songs that are amazing
Then you hear the music, and it all comes crystal clear!! Amen brother.
Triumph songs are very inspirational. "Hold On" is another one of those songs
My brother used to use Triumph lyrics to impress the girls in rehab. He would say he wrote them. They had no idea.
I was at the US festival, they were incredible. They have so many great tunes
Mucho cudos first off for zero interruptions. This was extreme legit awesomesauce. I thought I had the best version after capping the studio version in a studio set. There are so many performances of popular songs that nobody truly knows the awesomeness that extends from the initial performance of the tune... and the band's interpretation of the tune, makes all the difference in the world in how well that tune may or may not be received for generations to come. Triumph and Magic Power are truly a force to overcome.
I hope you decide to check out more of Triumph soon. You really need to listen to "Fight the Good Fight". Lead singer & guitarist, Rik Emmett, wrote this song for his aunt who was battling cancer at the time. So much feeling in this song. Even without knowing why he wrote it.
Great review! Love Rik Emmett. He’s so gifted to be able to sing like that and play world-class guitar 🎸at the same time. Liked and subbed!
Thank you.✨
Our senior class song.
That coda is one of the greatest 60 seconds in rock history.
Cheers from Canada. I appreciate that you’ve given Triumph some love on your channel. They were the band that turned me from a pop music fan to a rock music fan when I was about 12 years old. Would love to see you check out the official video to “Lay it on the Line”. That was the first Triumph song I ever heard.
Omg that ending...when he sang slow. Gosh where are they now? I gotta look them up!!!
I was there it was a major event, attendance records Broke woodstock records for the first time ever. It was monumental it was very hot. And even though Triumph was not on the right day they freaking rocked it.
The whole set is fantastic. Their drummer gil moore sings too. "When the lights go down" from this show is great. Gil sings the lead.
RIK EMMIT IS A FAMOUS GUITAR PLAYER AND AN AMAZING VOCALIST
One of my favorite songs.
Great reaction! I only saw them twice - they are so amazing live! 😎😎🧡🧡
Thank you.✨
See Now You have The Magic Power of The Music in You! This Performance was Amazing about less than 2 weeks after they played this festival they came to Texas my home state and played another big Festival and I was there from the very start that I heard Triumph in 1979 they are from Canada and they got their Music played in Texas so far away and San Antonio had them headlined a Festival and Texas was a big start for them and I got to see them 9 times I Really Think You Should listen to Triumph 1987 Live Halifax Somebody’s Out There! Check that you will Love it This is Fun!
The first time I heard Triumph I was in College. And it was the Magic Power.
Being a huge Rush fan, 2 things were apparent;
1.) His high pitch reminded me of Geddy.
2. And the beautiful melody.
Like you said Bethany in your first reaction, "Canada for the win again". Cool cats too.
That was a great performance. I was there I was a young 15 year old and had a blast i recommend the whole set.
Great band, great song! Takes me back to a better era of music 🎶
I have so much fun watching your reaction videos and I also Really Loved hearing You talk about your Father and how he Loves Music and he reminds me that I have a Daughter that turns 24 years old this month and when she was born my wife and I were going to a lot of concerts and when she came along we just took her to all those concerts I remember she was maybe just 3 months old and we went to see Def Leppard and she was in my lap the whole time dancing and loving the music we took to a bunch by the time she turned 6 years old she had been to see her Favorite Band Journey 5 times and so many Bands that I grew up to and to see Younger people really liking the Music that was so big in later 70s through 80s but I see how much Your Dad means to you and I know having a Little Girl even though she thinks she’s grown she will always be my little girl I Really Cherish her and try to at least text call every day
✨Thank You✨
That's the great thing about music. Sometimes you don't need to say anything, it's all about the feeling you get when you hear something you truly enjoy that takes you back to a special place and time. I could tell from the length of your comments and the tone of your voice that you really felt this. One of my favorite reactions from you! Thank you for sharing your memories with us.
Thank you.✨
Hi Rebeka extraordinary Concert of Triumph 1983, and this songs and others songs from them are really spectacular and so your comments on this song in particularly, it's really awesome ❤️❤️, I love every video you play on your First Reaction Program, and Triumph it's one of my favorite rock group as well, Thanks a lot Rebeka ❤❤
Thank you.✨
Great reaction and thanks for sharing. This concert put Triumph on the international stage. They absolutely crushed their live performance and stole the show from some of the biggest rock bands of the day. Magic Power, Lay it on the Line and Fight the Good Fight from this concert (US Festival 1983) were absolutely amazing. Their other live performances are good too, but this was amazing. Their studio work just doesn't feel as good as this live performance. Please keep enjoying learning about some of the amazing music you were to young or to distant to get to hear. The internet is amazing and allows even kids like you to get to experience some of the most amazing music and performances from the last 50+ years. Keep up the good work. Chris
Thank you.✨
I for one and I’m sure many others really enjoyed your story about your Dad and his Music collection . The bond that you and your Dad shared through the Music is what helped make you who you are today. So you don’t have to ever apologize about who you are. Because you obviously had Great parents who raised a Wonderful Young Lady.
Thank you.✨
I have had the pleasure to see Triumph in concert twice and I can tell you that they are fantastic and sound awesome. And I am proud to say that I saw them in San Antonio Texas were they claim to have gained their recognition from after that concert.
Great band they were underrated Rick Emmett has a fantastic voice, allied forces is an awesome album
Oh I am going to watch your reaction to my Favorite Band again because You know how to Rock and your Fun Oh the very end of the song he added that at live concerts and he has Amazing vocals
We're did great music go!!!
love this song and underrated band.
That is one awesome crowd!
I was here. What a great weekend! I was amazed how many people had no idea who they were. They knew who they were when they were done.
Like seeing people enjoy the music I love!!! I was 16 when this video was shot!!! Saw the Thunder Seven Tour think it was 1984 or 1985!!! Rik,Mike, and Gil were sure talented beyond measure!!! Glad we got these videos cas there ain't no musicians like this anymore!!! Thanks for your video! Love me some Triumph!!! My favorite song by them is Hold On!!! Check that one if you haven't already!!!
Yep I was at the Thunder Seven tour and that was 1985. Best show ever in rock for me. Rush was also kick-ass live, but Triumph just had slight slight edge in their energy level on stage.
I have a great love for my Canadian Power Trios!!!
I've seen RUSH 23 times
I've seen TRIUMPH 13.
Please listen to "Suitcase Blues" .
I was 9 years old at this concert with my parents when they turned on the water it was pure magic!
I have this Triumph concert on DVD every now and then I get some beer and watch it!
Another good reaction thank you. Triumph is a good band, I don't know if there were any bad ones that came out of Canada. Love the story about your dad. I think your appeal in doing reactions is that you are yourself and you're not acting. So again thank you for your time
Thank you.✨
What an epic performance !!! I think this is the best version of this song out there. Thanks for sharing!
Rebeka, the look on your face at 0:47 was priceless. Yes, "back in the day" we had to go to a concert to see our favorite bands. It was a huge fellowship of like minded people coming together to be free, crazy, and wild...away from our parents. I don't remember being at a concert with less than 10,000 people. This concert was a three day event that drew close to 375,000 wild and crazy kids, in unbearable 100 degree heat! I was 20 when this concert came out, and I am assuming that the average age in attendance at the concerts was about 20-22. Which makes these people in their 60's now. Us "old folks" really knew how to party and be crazy, because we were young, wild , and free! I have seen Triumph three times in concert, and being a guitarist in a band at the time, Rik Emmett was a huge inspiration to me. Thanks for the memories and the reaction!
i as there for this show, and the other two you have reacted from the same same show. I enjoyed watching you feel the music.
This is one of my all time favs!
Great music like this always brings back great memories thanks for sharing your story about your Dad and his love of music I'm glad to see he passed that down to you 👍👍
Love the band , Had all their Albums too!
I love TRIUMPH, my high school days!!!
Yes ...TRIUMPH IS AMAZING I GOT TO SEE THEM AT US FESTIVAL IN 1983 ..THEY WERE I THINK THE 4TH BAND THAT DAY
kudos to your dad :-) loved the story and thank you for choosing this song, never heard it before I heard it here on your tube first ! ;-) blessed !
Thank you.✨
Awesome reaction… Great band! Very underrated in my opinion. Would love to see a reaction to Gordon Lightfoot “the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald“ more in the folk category… Based off of a true incident. very emotional song along the lines of Johnny Cash’s “Hurt”
Thank you.✨
Triumph was the first band to bring out pyrotechnics and lasers there one of the all time great bands Rik can sing at such a high pitch and play guitar so great hes up thete as some of the greatest.🙏❤🎸🎤
Сразу Вижу Очень Хороший Специалист,По Глазам,И Поэтому Доверяю!
I was in that crowd! The US festival!Greatest concert ever !!!!
A great Canadian Rock band!! Another Canadian band , Saga, made it very successful in Europe in the 80s. Amazing lead singer and the band are awesome musicians.
Cheers!!!!
April Wine is another great Canadian band!
Excellent choice! Well said about the live performance footage. And you touched on the nostalgia aspect. It's important.
Thank you.✨
Lucky to be on the front wall seeing them allied forces tour 1983, Anchorage, Alaska! Priceless!😉👍
This is always great playing in my soft top JEEP in the summertime, top down, tunes up, no worries!
I was very fortunate to see them live during the Allied Forces era - Aldo Nova opened, Then came Rik Emmett and Triumph and I had already worn out my Allied Forces album, Blue Oyster Cult followed then Journey closed. It was a GREAT concert and the biggest food fight I'll ever experience. Shoes, Nachos, Beers etc flying across the whole Rose Bowl.
Hi Rebeka, good reaction to a great performance, glad you got goosebumps! Keep on smiling and rockin' beautiful lady.
Thank you.✨
Thsnk u😅
I was at that concert the whole weekend and it was by far the best I've ever seen! SO Hot and SO Good to be there especially Heavy Metal Sunday. Water cannons, bikini's and GREAT Bands...Great time to be young and alive!!!
GOOD JOB YOUNG LADY....A+++
I saw Triumph in 1983, Allied forces was the album they toured on. Not sure what you already reacted to yet, but try either "Fight the good fight" or "Lay it on the Line. I think both are freaking awesome. But I wish you would decide that.
You do great reactions for sure, That's why you have so many following you, You would fit right in with us older mature people that like you said if you missed the concert that year you would have to wait for next year to see them live and man seeing great bands live is the best! I have many memories from the early 70's to early 90's going to concerts and the outdoor concerts were mind blowing! Peace and Love Darling from Phoenix, Arizona but I was born and raised in Denver Colorado.
Thank you.✨
This is my first time watching you react to Triumph,Magic Power.and I have to say, watching you made me fall in love with you a little bit,and I saw your beauty in the way you enjoyed the video, am a follower now, and you might think of doing a reaction video on Metallica "Nothing Else Matters", I think you would like it. i WAS THERE. It was 100 degrees and there was 300k people there.
Rik managed to put into words how my entire generation felt about our music, and what it meant to us. Magic Power indeed.
Most videos were made in Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. Just happens I was there. ;)
Really good song, I am comparatively new to this band, so I am learning, they are really talented, I agree with your reaction, and will start listening to them more now.
Appreciate it. Thank you so much.✨
