Wise words about appreciating heavy music. People who's never had a really tough phase or maybe had it but never tried to bury the pain and anger in this type of music will never understand how liberating listening to metal can be.
Completely agree, for me it was two phases in my life, in my teenage years only Amy Lee was really capable of replicating my inner broken heart and fears into both words and emotions through her voice, much later it was Katatonia (incredibly underrated band anyway)
I mean, post Human was the closest thing to Linkin Park I've ever heard. Gave me tingles the first time I heard it. Definitely a spiritual succesor at this point.
I´m in a rly dark spot in my head right now and this just perfectly hits the spot. This feeling of "I´m not the only one feeling that way" kinda...helps
Dude Alex, seriously... watching your evolution of "hip-hop head" to "I listen to everything now head"... it's been a wild and fun ride thus far. I love your videos man. I'm always going through shit, but it's been a while since I've felt like I couldn't trust myself. The last time, I was fortunate to have a new relationship where someone genuinely cared about me, enough to convince me to go to the hospital. Been together 12 years now, also been in therapy for about the same time. Far from fixed, but I'm not as broken
I was also the same way, when I was young, I only listened to hip hop, but then as I got older, I started listening to bands like Falling in reverse, bring me the horizon, and red hot chilli peppers. It's like I was able to expand my taste because I could relate to more type of music since I had more life experience.
I love the evolution of the band and of Oli's vocals. I've been a fan for 12 years, and it's always amazing to me how they keep switching it up. It's so cathartic, and it's nice to hear someone screaming how I feel when I have to keep it inside.
Metal is so cathartic. Just a release of emotions; rage, sadness, frustration, sorrow. Alex, there isn't a video for it, but you should check out Disturbed's song "Save Our Last Goodbye". Powerful song.
I’ve been in bad places mentally before which ended up in being taken to hospital. What I’ve learnt is to be open about those experiences because it can help other people to know that they aren’t alone, and to not feel ashamed of anything they are going through. It was a mistake I made and it took a suicide attempt for me to be forced to get help. I live with the scars but they have made me a better person and I will always be here to listen to anyone who is going through a tough time. Much love to you all ❤
I'm so curious about the inspiration for this song, because I got so many vibes of like late 90s early 2000s metal and rock music. I didn't even catch the Papa Roach line, but the lyrics and screams (especially the "when I'm gone" scream) remind me so much of Linkin Park, and then the line "there's something in the way" just made me think of Nirvana. then I also got huge The Diary Of Jane by Breaking Benjamin vibes from this song too. either way it just feels like a blast from the past and it's incredible! as for advice for those at their lowest, live for your future self. I know that doesn't sound great if you don't like yourself and don't think you will have a future, but what has helped me is knowing that my future self is a completely different person than who I am right now. maybe I don't feel like I deserve to move forward, but for whoever I become in the future, we both deserve to see how far I can go. life is constantly evolving and changing, some days are heavier than others, but there will come a time where living isn't scary or exhausting. also in general, something that helped me was just appreciating small details. if you're really into music or art, dive deep into the details and appreciate the beauty. like nature? go for a walk and sit in the grass, or look up pictures of nature landscapes and notice every detail. there is beauty in everything and sometimes checking into that can make you feel even slightly better. anyways, long comment, thanks for reading. glad Alex reacted to this, as soon as I listened to it I was so eager to see the reaction for it! have a good day everyone!
Your explanation of how this kind of music can embody what someone may be going through is spot on. Ive always remained a pretty positive mental state in life and im grateful for it, but music is truly the best medicine and it’s helped me in every dark spot I have had. You gained a subscriber my guy.
You saying reach out to me just made that I respect you so much more. Holy crap, that is some serious dedication for your viewers, and I appreciate you doing it for them
This is a solid BMTH song. Gonna be playing this for a while now. And I connect with the song, but I would’ve had a deeper connection to it 4 years ago (I wasn’t in the best place then). I will say I’m much happier than I was then 😁. Just a great song 👌. Also for more song suggestions could we maybe have a bit more Beartooth on the channel please Alex, maybe a song from their new album

One of the best ways to cope with a situation you can't control is to act in a way that you can control. That includes listening to a familiar and meaningful song, as well as focusing on breathing, doing some sort of exercise, or reaching out to a stable, dependable person if you have one. Thanks for being there for your family of fans Alex!
My first introduction to music was pop but it didn’t feel right and then a school friend introduced me to Iron Maiden and W.A.S.P and that was it I found my musical home. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t try and be like everyone else just to fit in, be true to yourself and find your own path in life and then everything will hopefully fall into place🤘
My piece of advice: when nothing seems to go right, try going left. Or in other words, if you're feeling stuck or lost, etc then try doing something different to change those feelings, whether it be using a coping skill, seeing a professional, talking to someone or whatever it takes to make you feel better

I know what is like to go through a heart-wrenching time when you feel like life is not worth living. When I was in middle school I was bullied relentlessly and the teachers, the principal, and my parents tried everything to make it stop and kept on going through high school until I ended up falling over the edge and became depressed, suicidal, and angry and I was so angry that there was a part of me that wanted to go after the people that tortured me in school and kill them but every time I thought or even dreamed about it I was scared shitless of myself of who I mite become if I gave in but I kept fighting and in the end, i got the help that i need and moved on in the end life is hard and we all need to keep fight no mater what and as for the video I didn't hear any Linkin Park vides except that when he said over and over. and with that being said the song and video reaction was f-ing awesome keep it up
My advice is: You may not think it possible right now, but things will get better for you. You mean something to someone in this world and don’t take a permanent solution to something that will only be temporary. You are loved, you are worth something and nobody can ever replace you ❤️
I've been through that moment. I've had a few nights where I was the last person on the planet I trusted to keep me safe. As someone who's been there the only advice I can give is the rain will stop. The clouds will part. A new day will dawn. And I hope you're there to see it.

heard it for the first time here, just now, this morning when I got up a little earlier than usual. I'm gonna throw this song on repeat on the way to work, and then play it at work for half an hour while I get the shop set up for customers. Nothing like a metal morning to start the day off before compromising with 'customer friendly' music for the rest of the day.

I love knowing that I wasn't the only one to remember chéster, when I heard it it came to my mind. I am a fan of this music by chéster
Here, listen to this=a new collaborations
heard it for the first time here, just now, this morning when I got up a little earlier than usual. I'm gonna throw this song on repeat on the way to work, and then play it at work for half an hour while I get the shop set up for customers. Nothing like a metal morning to start the day off before compromising with 'customer friendly' music for the rest of the day.
Your the man 🤍🤍🤍 love the content bro x
Glad im not the only one who heard the papa roach omage
