The guy on the keyboard is Eliot Lewis.... The other guy is Alan Gorrie, the bassist / singer. They met as a result of Hamish Stuart leaving the band. Hamish was an original member of AWB but exited the band due to personal reasons.... Eliot Lewis now is no longer with AWB... He is a supporting member of Daryl Hall whenever Daryl tours and as well Eliot can be found on lfdh.com ( Live from Daryl's House website ) where you'll see Eliot on there regularly.
The original version with the original lead singer of the group "Hamish Stewart" is the one to listen to for your first exposure to this group. That second voice that you're excited about is a new band member who replaced the original lead Hamish. The original version of this song was released in the 70's with Alan Gorrie the base player on lead now and Hamish Stewart sharing lead vocals and guitar.
Incrível. Assisti o vídeo dessa música, como eu adoro, fui ver novamente, ai encontrei o seu vídeo,. Liguei a legenda em português e aproveitei. Adorei suas reações. Amei seus backing vocals. Beijos do Brasil!
You know what's interesting and surprising to me is that the keyboard player Eliot Lewis, who's singing falsetto, is a guy I'd known of for years before this. I'd never heard him really sing before he joined AWB. I never knew he could sing and blow like that. Kind of wish he'd have stayed with the group. After Hamish Stuart left I think they'd struggled to find someone to really replace him. He can even switch between bass and guitar like Hamish. Oh well.
I first fell into the reaction videos rabbit hole because I'm a big fan of tool, and love watching singers in particular reacting Maynard's singing on the Sober live video from 1993... but of all of them yours is awesome for introducing me to new music I'd never have heard of... so thanks for that! Your love of music and the joy you express is infectious. And not a single tool reaction that I could see on your channel...amazing!

Hey MrsPenPal, Without seeing them, most people have thought that they were a Black group because of how soulful they sound. You said "I'm glad we got to see them live," a lot of people have reacted to this band's name in a similar way. Please keep in mind that their name was never meant to have any negative racial connotations, they started in the early 70's back in Scotland and their name was birthed from a quirky joke, as they had a friend that traveled a lot to different places, upon his return from his journeys he would make statements like: "the weather there was either too hot or too cold for the "average white man." They heard things like that so many times from this guy, that they thought to themselves, hey let's call ourselves the "Average White Band!!!" I read somewhere in another comment that makes great sense about the marketing of their name: "under-promise" but "over-deliver!!!" And wow, do these guys deliver the soul & the funk!!!
@@MrsPenPal From day one that I began to watch your channel & your reactions, I could tell you are a romantic. That's part of the reason why I wanted you to react to this band & this song. I remember you said that had you known sooner about "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers, you would have played it at your wedding! Now you have another wedding song (A Love Of Your Own) to add to your collection!!! (when you have a moment check out the studio/audio version of this song, its nice too & done by all of the original members of the band).
