Dude, your giving great advice, in a positive way. New dog owners don't understand the amount of work a puppers is. Your tips help, and why I have a Corso.
Dude, the drool. Giant breeds and their drool! I’ve found drool everywhere even on the ceiling! That and their short lifespans. But I love gentle giants💕✨
My Mastiff will get a drink of water come into the living room look at me and shake his big head flinging drool everywhere and especially on the TV lol. It's like he is saying no more TV buddy I'm here.
When you are out and come home to slavers up the wall, then you realise once wiped it's stained or stripped paint off the wall. Don't get me started on how they save it until your dressed for a night out to slobber all over you 😁
Great advice. We have a Bullmastif x German shepard and a XL American bully. Currently sick with covid and yesterday they got a bit over excited while toileting and decided to rough play in the mud. So in my sick state I had to bathe them both which meant lifting them into the bath. Definitely hard work and it's small things like that which you don't really think about until you have them. I think it's good to consider what dog breed you can handle but I think more than that, people should prepare to be adaptable. The size of our two sometimes causes issues, especially when they play, but we've raised them right and are just big dopey children.
True but they're one of the longer lived large breeds, the record biggest dog, and english mastiff named "Zorba" lived to be 13 years old. He maxed at 343 lbs.
Nothing but the short lifespan. They are wonderful dogs! Never had any issue with my Ariel, obedient, patient and incredibly gentle. My neighbor lowered her toddler down the fence so she could play with Ariel. When I found out I almost had a heart attack, the size difference was collosal, I was worried but the mother remained unconvinced and still lowered her daughter everyday. Made it a point of being there or remove Ariel from the yard into the house if I couldn't be there. She wasn't a yard dog, it was open for her to exercise or keep abreast of the goings on or the condominium! Fifteen years on, she is still remembered by the neighbors that were children when she was around.
For me it’s their health. It breaks my heart that they aren’t with us for longer 🥺❤️ All dogs should live as long as people, they’re so good and pure and I love them all so much ❤️
I think about getting a big dog a lot, but I’m 4’10”. These videos help me think realistically about the kind of dog I would need if I wanted one, versus just having the breed I desire. Thanks!
The absolute worst part about owning an English Mastiff is that we don't get enough time with them their lifespans are shorter because of their size and if I could have kept mine around another 20 years it wouldn't have been long enough
First off, I love your videos. Second, I was wondering if you've done a video on how you got that scar on your forehead? Wondering if there is a crazy dog related story behind it?
Keep up the good work you are teaching a lot of people the correct informations about different breeds and are helping people make a better decision if you get time would you be able to make one of the Australian Shepard. Keep up the good work
I agree with this but at the same time I do not because most first time owners will most likely not get something of that size, I have a English mastiff there size can become a problem if not trained well enough to listen. Sometimes they are hard to move if not trained but the size being the worst I understand because I have one and he wouldn’t move till I trained him. But if you want one I recommended learning and getting certain items to help it live.
Worst thing about owning a mixed dog: While you get a lot of visual and health benefits of each breed, you also get the health detriments. Our boxer, shepherd, shar pei mix has cherry eye and inverted eyelashes that require three types of drops three times a day.
It's the food costs for me. I have two cats, and their catfood has gone up 70% in price within the last year (they're picky so switching won't work), but they're cats so that's manageable because they eat so little. That Godzilla of a dog would eat me out of house and home.
Pretty much grew up with an English mastiff, pretty much every dog low key seems small to me bc of it (he was around 210lb). he passed away a few years ago but I still miss his big slobbery face!
Hi Will, I really love your videos. I have a question, I have a busy lifestyle, barking and aggressive dogs scares me. But I like big dogs. Is Borzoi a good dog for me? I want a silent, low maintenance and gentle dog
I’m 5’3” and 150 lbs my Audie is about the same! My challenge is his claws! I can’t get him to let me cut them! He barely drools! So I must be lucky. His size has been an issue when cuddling, playing, sleeping bc he’s hurt me without trying just by adjusting his body at times has given me a black eye! I’ve seen stars a few times! But I wouldn’t have it any other way!
They actually don't need much space at all. They just like to chill with a lil exercise sprinkled in. My family has bread them since the 70's. They are a perfect breed.
We adopted Rufus as a pup, who just kept growing. He is now 65kg and i wouldnt have him any other way, but his size can be challenging. He got me into weight training as he is getting older because if there is an emergency, i need to be able to get him to the vet.
I loved my English Mastiff, Daisy. The only thing about her that frustrated me was her flung drool on the walls, furniture, floor... yuck. And she was small at 120#... can't imagine the drool from a full sized male!
My English Mastiff is 154pds at 11 months old. Yeah he's a big boy I have retractable steps to help him get in our vehicle. He has his own couch and he walks right next to me when we walk. He's not only a pet but my best friend he's all about our household. If your not ready for a dog this size you should not get one they are alot of work but if you are ready for that workout it's totally worth it
I have 2 English mastiffs and couldn't be happier ,they manage to get in and out of the van on their own,the 23 month old weighs 206lbs the 5 year old weighs 185lbs.They do get big so everything at vet costs a lot.
Giant breed = giant bills and least in the US! People hate to hear that but it is true. You must be able to afford proper medical care along with your other points!
Nate from narrowway homestead has a boz shepherd that is already 10 pounds above the average and is still a puppy. Expect your dog to be bigger than expected just to be safe
Honestly street dogs are the goat. They do require a lot of training but it pays off big time. Mine got only sick 1 time and that was becauuse he accidentally ate rat poison while he escaped when the gate was open, took some meds and turned out fine. Their immune system is built like a god
When they wag their tail they clear off the coffee table or bed stand or a toddler's face gets smacked. They do slobber & you better be prepared to buy 50 lb bags of dog food. Otherwise their fine. 😊
I am not so sure about NEEDING a HUGE vehicle if you have a huge dog. I had a Scion XA, and my NEWFIE/Lab mix 185 lbs would be my rear car passenger almost daily. And, he wasn't really so huge that our house seemed to be small. We would start out sharing my single bed, but, as the night went on, he'd get PISSED OFF, and would get off of my bed. But, he was my big ole sweet "OOPHIE". His nickname. I would totally LOVE to have a Mastiff, BUT, I am getting older, and, helping an older BIG DOG move around when they are getting older and maybe they are getting sick and/or arthritic, I do really want to make sure that I would be careful enough to make sure that I would be supporting a dog that is of good temperament. I am not so sure that I could car for a dog that is TOO huge though. At least not LONG TERM. I REALLY do LOVE huge dogs, but, long term I can't commit 100%.
I have an American bulldog mixed at Bernard and cause of him I got a twin bed next to my queen one to have space to sleep, cause yes we be co-sleeping 😅
Our english would step on you either your foot or leg if you were sitting on the floor with them. I loved them so. We have bull mastiffs now everyone of our dogs are rescue
I wish more dog owners would think before getting a dog. Yesterday my dog was attacked by a 'Deutsche Dogge' and the only thing the owner said to me was: 'Sorry sometimes even I can't handle her!' ...wow... don't get a dog you can't handle!
Dude, your giving great advice, in a positive way.

What??? That’s called glitter in this house😂
Dude, the drool. Giant breeds and their drool! I’ve found drool everywhere even on the ceiling! That and their short lifespans. But I love gentle giants💕✨
Its so bad when they shake and their drool flies everywhere,
It’s slippery lol but just clean it up! I love love love English mastiffs!
My Mastiff will get a drink of water come into the living room look at me and shake his big head flinging drool everywhere and especially on the TV lol. It's like he is saying no more TV buddy I'm here.

@@nodsamraagreed
They can be stinky and drooly but so loveable and amazing at the same time!
Big poops and drool to clean up but I absolutely love them.
👆🏿yes this comment. Double dunkers 💩 poos daily and a drool 🤤 magnet 🤣🤣🤣
Definitely the slobber but I love
My two mastiffs!!
Hello we call that glitter in my house
GLITTER, 😆 🤣 😂 😹

Hahahaha 😆
The worst thing is that they don't live long enough 🥺.
how long?
@@miniganguly6072 I think their average lifespan is about 10 years
It plays a Rottweiler in three or four years I like a remote control robot however by 5 or 8 they start to die
@@frenzyyyy4254trueee, but my first mastiff lived until 15, if they have a healthy lifestyle, a few years can be added
True but they're one of the longer lived large breeds, the record biggest dog, and english mastiff named "Zorba" lived to be 13 years old. He maxed at 343 lbs.

I really appreciate you giving out short glimpses of advice that’s honest but puts light on issues in a good way. Keep it up man :)
The only problem I see is the drooling
Welp that is why you never walk a massive dog farther then you are willing to carry them back 😂
For me it’s their health. It breaks my heart that they aren’t with us for longer 🥺❤️ All dogs should live as long as people, they’re so good and pure and I love them all so much ❤️
It is not that difficult but the drooling it is sometimes annoying ❤
Great advice. Bravo sir! 👍🏻
So...a personal flex?
Well played, brother.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
We had a mastiff mix. One of the best dogs we ever had.
I agree totally,I had a bull mastiff, amazing dog and she was well loved but harder work to look after. And when they step on your bare foot 😂
I think about getting a big dog a lot, but I’m 4’10”. These videos help me think realistically about the kind of dog I would need if I wanted one, versus just having the breed I desire. Thanks!
I'm 5' and have a great Pyrenees, he's the absolute best. He's an inside dog and he's knocked over lots of stuff but totally worth it
Im 5 foot 1 and i have a mastiff, hes perfect and yes he does drool
Thats why I trained my CC puppy to walk and down a ramp
The absolute worst part about owning an English Mastiff is that we don't get enough time with them their lifespans are shorter because of their size and if I could have kept mine around another 20 years it wouldn't have been long enough
I love how he always talks about the positives and negatives. I don’t even like dogs too much but I always watch these videos
First off, I love your videos. Second, I was wondering if you've done a video on how you got that scar on your forehead? Wondering if there is a crazy dog related story behind it?
Why is it that I imagined him with a Mastiff??? Great advice. .
Eileen is just the best name ever for an English Mastiff
Keep up the good work you are teaching a lot of people the correct informations about different breeds and are helping people make a better decision if you get time would you be able to make one of the Australian Shepard. Keep up the good work
I love my Mastiff he has such a big personality to go with his big size.
My family had a St. Bernard when I was younger, she always needed a boost up into the back of the truck
Worst thing about owning a mixed dog: While you get a lot of visual and health benefits of each breed, you also get the health detriments. Our boxer, shepherd, shar pei mix has cherry eye and inverted eyelashes that require three types of drops three times a day.
Haha my English Mastiff puts his front paws up on the back car seats and looks back at you basically saying lift me the rest of the way please.
Love your channel! Can you do more videos on Boerboels?
Man, I love your videos. Can you make something about cocker spaniel?
From my experience with my EM it's the transport, we had to get a van to accommodate my 5.5 month mastiff pup (already 40kg) and my staffy cross.
It's the food costs for me. I have two cats, and their catfood has gone up 70% in price within the last year (they're picky so switching won't work), but they're cats so that's manageable because they eat so little. That Godzilla of a dog would eat me out of house and home.
The drooling was the most challenging but my mastiffs intelligence far outweighed the steady clothe.
Pretty much grew up with an English mastiff, pretty much every dog low key seems small to me bc of it (he was around 210lb). he passed away a few years ago but I still miss his big slobbery face!
No dog should be so unathletic that it can't jump into a vehicle.
The drool! So much drool 😱 invest in drool rags to keep at spots around the house lol.
Mine was a like a large speed bump who only moved when food was around 😂
Never fall asleep on the floor near one . They will rest on you and you will lose feeling in your feet
Slobber is the worst thing about a mastiff
I have a pug and he's so chonky and childish that he might as well be a Mastiff lol
Hi Will, I really love your videos. I have a question, I have a busy lifestyle, barking and aggressive dogs scares me. But I like big dogs. Is Borzoi a good dog for me? I want a silent, low maintenance and gentle dog
Nothing is wrong nor can be called bad about the English mastiff, they are perfect.
This guys flannel shirts are amazing.
Excellent point. 👍🏻
I’m 5’3” and 150 lbs my Audie is about the same! My challenge is his claws! I can’t get him to let me cut them! He barely drools! So I must be lucky. My cane corso/English mastiff is ALMOST big enough.
Thinking of an Irish wolf hound next
they might be difficult at times... but theyre cuddly fur babies
Also, preventatives and other medications cost more the more a dog weighs! Plus, gotta buy bigger beds, crates, etc.
I love my girls...my house is small, my girls go right into my vehicle. My issue is THE SLOBBER 🤣😂🐕
Did you ever had a dog attack you?
They actually don't need much space at all. They just like to chill with a lil exercise sprinkled in. My family has bread them since the 70's. They are a perfect breed.
The fact that they think they are lapdogs
My old neighbors owned English muffins and I couldn't stand the two they had. I'm sure they felt the same about mine.
OMG WE KNOW YOU OWN AN ENGLISH MASTIFF. Best drinking game idea ever…. Every time this dude mentions he has an English mastiff take a shot.
Something not many people talk about is that these guys will fight until they die to protect you
The slob. It turns into concrete if not removed from walls right away
We adopted Rufus as a pup, who just kept growing. He is now 65kg and i wouldnt have him any other way, but his size can be challenging. He got me into weight training as he is getting older because if there is an emergency, i need to be able to get him to the vet.
My friends mastiff has their own bedroom.
My buddies thinks hes a lap dog, absolutely a no win situation.
I can confirm this.
I loved my English Mastiff, Daisy. The only thing about her that frustrated me was her flung drool on the walls, furniture, floor... yuck. And she was small at 120#... can't imagine the drool from a full sized male!
As a former owner of an English Mastiff, (2011-2022) I can agree with this
their health problems is the worst part
My English Mastiff is 154pds at 11 months old. Yeah he's a big boy I have retractable steps to help him get in our vehicle. He has his own couch and he walks right next to me when we walk. also how that size affects size portions like food and medication.
Wonderful name for a dog!
Giant breed = giant bills and least in the US! People hate to hear that but it is true. You must be able to afford proper medical care along with your other points!
The worst thing about any giant breed is their longevity, they don't live long enough
Love the Dixon Friday the 13th brother. I have the same one
I have 110 pound aging mutt. Bully/pyranees mix and he's a wonderful boy. But I'll have to invest in ramps soon.
where I live, Mastiff is considered a dangerous breed. Sadly.
That is crazy to me. So gentle
Nate from narrowway homestead has a boz shepherd that is already 10 pounds above the average and is still a puppy. Expect your dog to be bigger than expected just to be safe

Noooo😢. The ONLY bad thing about an English Mastiff is the drool. Otherwise, I would love to own this dog❤
Short lifespan and huge ovet costs when they get sick . I had wolfhound I know.. I miss all my hounds ❤😢
What thinking about getting a napoleon Mastiff do you have any videos on them
Worse thing about golden doodles ?
Ok you have convinced me 🙄🤣❤
When they wag their tail they clear off the coffee table or bed stand or a toddler's face gets smacked. They do slobber & you better be prepared to buy 50 lb bags of dog food. Otherwise their fine. 😊
I just want one video about a corgi. Pembroke or Cardigan I don’t care. Please just 1 video.
It's definitely the drool...
Actually it is said that they live best in apartments because they don’t like moving around much making an apartment more suitable for them❤
I was gonna say their life expectancy, which is probably so short because of their size.
Can you talk about Rottweilers, please?
My Great Dane weighs 282 !!
Hello Mari-Anne, I would love to see a picture or video of your Big Dog !
F me. I was thinking about getting one and even if this is obvious I never considered, especially when it comes to care space
Not too mention bigger dogs means more food you have to feed them. Which gets expensive fast. Especially if you go for a high quality diet.
Good thing i already have all those things as an english mastiff owner 😂
Slopper bubble maker lol!
Thought you were going to say drool. My girlfriend has 2. There are towels everywhere in her house, cars, purse. Yes she has ramps.
I got an Indian Pariah that's mixed with some terrier and Labrador. What's do you feel about the combo?
Yeah your right they think they're lap dogs to like no your 180 my guy I can't breath
That they live such short lives.

I have a spanish Mastiff!!
When a video of thus Race?
Greeeetings
