My eldest sister had a bull arab x bull mastiff. He was the biggest sook around people, loved getting pats, was great around kids. When our mum would go to visit, he would push everyone out of the way just to be next to her. He was also trained to be a very loyal guard dog. His way of greeting you was to bring you a "gift". Such a beautiful boy. ❤
Not a dog for anyone who is financially challenged... It must cost quite a bit to keep him fed. Worth it though! Love these gentle giants!

Our George reached 262 lbs., but thankfully, he was never destructive like Poo Bear. He lived to a ripe old age of 13 years, which is unheard of for an English Mastiff. Darn we miss that big boy. Poo is adorable. Enjoy every minute with him.
Wow! Yes, big dogs just do not have the same potential life span as small dogs. He must have had good genes, AND been taken very good care of.

My nephew was a 200 pound English Mastiff and the love of my life. I could do anything with him (like dress him up) and never complained. Was such an easy dog to walk. I’ll always miss him. This is a great video. Pooh and Mr. Cody share several of the same traits.

He’s 10 months and 235…my guess is he’ll top out at around 250. He is beautiful and yes I would cuddle with him for a long while.

Poohbear reminds me of HERCULES the Mastiff dog that was in the film THE SANDLOT
When I was a kid, we rescued a Mastiff x Boxer from the pound, who we named Maximilian. We thought he was already fully grown when we adopted him but he was not done yet. At his biggest, he was about half the size and mass of Pooh Bear but that is still a very large dog, especially for kids. Maxi also remained very playful and goofy, puppylike, despite his quite mean-looking face, and had no idea of his own size. He loved sitting on my lap but would get there gradually, first putting his head on my lap while looking up at me with his soulful eyes to gauge my reaction, then one front paw followed by the other, and then he would just clamber up entirely. I could tell he was trying to be delicate about it but he was so big and heavy that I couldn't see past him and just my little legs would stick out from under him. I would take it for as long as I could tolerate the weight of him because I knew he just wanted to be babied and I loved him so much. A good compromise was spooning but he had to be the little spoon with my skinny little arm draped over him. He was so fun, loving, loyal and protective. He would stand watch over me when I was so ill that I couldn't get out of bed and come into my room to lay on my bed when I had nightmares. Rest in peace, Maxi, and thanks for being the best boy.

Pooh Bear is massive! I must cost a fortune to feed him, to replace everything that he has chewed on/up - those sneakers looked brand new😅. But I’ll bet he’s the best companion you could ever have, and a big dog has a big heart! 💕

Thank you for assuring us this gentle giant will remain in your most loving, caring and financially stable home for the rest of his life. I hope every potential adopter looking at this situation takes a SECOND look at pups they see pics of at breeders or shelters with their heads as well as their heart, to ensure the breed, size and behaviors will work with their own situation including amount of time daily to train and spend with, other family members, home details, future plans, and finances. Far too many animals end up back devastated and forgotten in cages or euthanized because someone only decided to get a pet with their heart and not their head. 😢❤

Love the video! The English Mastiff was the best and sweetest dog we have ever had. Will we ever get a Mastiff again? No, certainly not. This is because there are also many disadvantages. We will now stick to the French bulldog, smaller but just as sweet.

I used to have one of these on my paper round as a kid. He was massive but lovely. He hated rain and inthe summer he would come and get the paper. He would get sad if you didn't play fuss him
I absolutely adore Mastiffs ...we used to call them OEM (Old English Mastiffs). I'm in Malaysia and have had the honour of keeping 3 of these handsome gentlemen...they snore, they break wind and they DROOL, but my Napoleon, Hercules and Caesar were so adorable. Unfortunately these giant breeds do not get to live very long. I still miss them lots.
