The mastiff glitter is definitely something you have to live with. We were blessed with finding a decent breeder. I hope to get another sometime in the future. One of the best breeds out there. I was unaware when I purchased him (yes, I bought him) that the giant breed dogs should NOT be spayed/neutered until they are 18-24 months. My vet says if you find a vet that will neuter him earlier than 18 months, you should find a new vet. Love this boy so very much, I think he saved my life.

I'm going through radiation and chemotherapy for throat cancer. I told my wife I wanted an English mastiff to celebrate when I'm cancer free. I get my beautiful boy mastiff the week I'm done with treatment 😁.

My Mum used to bread OEM and show them back in the day. From early childhood I remember these (Usually) gentle giants around the house. I remember when I later had kids of my own and having pics of my very young son sat next to Henry on the sofa. He was a beast and absolutely dwarfed my son, but such a gentle dog. Henry was always mums fave and she cried for hours when he died.

Mastiff dogs have been bred in Britain since pre-Roman times and then exported throughout The empire by the Romans who valued them above the Greek mollosus. I wonder how many mastiff breeds around Europe descended from the British mastiffs.

I had an English neopolitan mastiff cross (rescue) as a teenager. The most loyal and loving dog you could imagine, very protective though. We had to introduce any new people outside and walk them in with him otherwise he would get antsy... He lived to eleven
