Ahhh, yes... maintenance. Annual time is always a fun time. Luckily for us, I have an A&P that allows, even encourages, owner assisted maintenance. We do the mundane things... remove and reinstall inspection panels, remove spark plugs, drain the oil, replace the oil filter, inspect and test the ELT, etc. I plan about two to three days for my annual. This next one is going to involve a bit more items, but it is what it is. Gotta do what you gotta do to keep these birds flying.
Yay! You’re back! I’m so glad the Tiger is home and you’re able to fly again. Been binge watching your channel all day. Awesome content and so well done.
Love the custom mug!! Oh, and the video was quite good also :-). My annual was even longer, as I had to wait for a new prop to be made in Germany (inventories were COVID-emptied) and shipped. Thanks. Wayne (DA40 KSBA)
@@Wolficorntv Fortunately it's in the hangar at the shop, but the monthly hangar rent is no fun with no plane. Sooo much deferred items from the previous owner.
Good to see you. Why would you take the plane to Auburn before he was ready to inspect it? Did you have a reservation? Or, was it out of annual? Just curious from a fellow owner.
There were several things at play. I took it up there early December b/c my ride back (Ali) wasn't available after that. Gary doesn't do reservations and he was planning to have the annual done by early January but his projects going on before he could get to mine took longer than anticipated.
With that new 406 ELT how 'bout we plan a caravan to the Baja. Could be a lunch trip to MMSF or something longer to wherever. Let me know if interested. Wayne (DA40 KSBA)
That sounds fun! The only little gotcha for now is the required COVID test proof requirement to get back into US. Have you been down there since that was implemented?
@@Wolficorntv , I haven't been down in the past 12 months. There are forum posts that CBP "might" not check (as it's a CDC reg), but I'm not going to trust that. I'm now planning a 2-night trip to Loreto for early May, and the La Misión Hotel publishes that they arrange a 24-hour turnaround PCR or antigen test. Another option is the day trip to San Felipe... getting the COVID test stateside say a couple days before departure.
@@GeezerGeekPilot Yeah I wouldn't trust that info either. We love Valle de Guadalupe and that will probably be our first flying trip (Ensenada). I would think there are similar quick turnaround tests (or maybe not since the demand wouldn't be as great since most Americans probably drive in to go there). I need to research better.
WooHoo Back in the Air!!!
yeah baby!
The quality of your videos are always worth the wait.
thx! I enjoy making them. Hopefully a little less waiting in the future.
Fantastic, the Tiger is back and so are you with some manes! Great to see you back up again!
thx Dutchy!
@@Wolficorntv You're welcome! Hope to see some new adventures of you while flying soon!
Glad you're back. Keep them coming! We also put a 406 MHz ELT in the Pathfinder and I feel just a bit safer in doing so.

thx Stephen! I've got one more video to binge watch for you. Coming out today!
I wondered what 244ER was doing at AUN for so long. Glad it's back and good to go. You must be real happy too, and looking forward to more great vids.
Glad to see your Tiger back! My Tiger is in the annual and getting some cool avionics upgrades!
Nice. What are you getting?

Crew, but who's counting? Lol
So happy to see you back ! I've missed watching your adventures from rainy England
Thx Samie! I love rainy England. Spent a year at uni in Canterbury. I'd love to do some flying over there one day.
Great to see you back Bryan. Look forward to some new and fun content. Cheers!
Thx Tanya! I have some fun ideas I'm looking forward to shoot.
Grew up very near Whiteman! Miss the GA flying over the house. Welcome back.
Thx Paul!
Awesome! I'm glad to see you have your trusty Tiger back Bryan!
Glad your Tiger is home! Thanks!!
New favorite mug by FAR. Well said 🤔
Welcome back, Bryan...
thx Alan!
About time! I missed that plane! Please get up in the air soon, and bring your cameras.
Glad to see the tiger again hope new videos for it!
Awesome video! I bet your brother is awesome too.
You need to get in one of my videos one day!
Well worth them doing a great job. Plus some parts can be a bit hard to find in these trying times. Be safe and take care.
Diggin that grumman mullet!
You know it!! LOL
I dropped mine off in December and now it’s November, still in annual.
Yikes. What’s up with that?

Yesssss he’s baaaaaaack!
Welcome back! Now get flying!
Entering month 5 on my Bonanza. A&P weeks are 18 days long.
Ouch! I feel your pain. The worst is paying for an empty hangar while your plane is sitting outside in the rain next to the mechanic’s shop ☹️

I owned a Tiger in N CA for over a decade. Never went there. Gary was too odd in my opinion.
4ER flys again!!! Dude, this year has been so weird. At this point if I get to fly 2 times a month, I think I am lucky.

Curious, was N626FT a Florida Tech plane? We had one local with the same “FT” suffix. Maybe a sister ship...
I'm not sure. That one isn't my plane. I'd have to ask Alireza.
It was a FIT plane at the start of its life.
Very interested in your experiences flying in Mexico!
Me too!
My flight back was a good example of surprising things with airplanes - given that I ended up having to get an alternator on the way back :-P
you're cursed!
Wow, that's a long way to go to get an annual done. Going 25 miles to have my annuals done is a pain in the booty.
It is a bit far but AUCountry knows Grumman better than just about anybody...plus I've always been able to get rides up there from friends.
How tall are you? I'm looking at Grummans.
I'm average height but I've heard of tall people being quite comfy in the Grumman.
Let's go to Mexico!!!!! :D
Si Si Si!!
