I've killed many a trap over the years. Finally I planted one in a fishbowl and put a loose glass lid on top. The trap has been thriving for at least five years and I only have to add water every 6 months or so!
Venus is still alive and slowly recovering! Only add water every six months!? I read it wanted distilled water every 2-3 days and that's what I've been doing.
@@Wolficorntv Glad to hear Venus is still with us! My trap is living in almost a closed system. I add distilled water every six months or so. When I stop seeing condensation on the lid I add water to heavily moist, not quite wet. They seem to love humidity, maybe require it. They seem to tolerate heat and cold OK.
Bryan, as always a very very well-produced video... and those reported winds in Santa Fe were sporty; cool that the winds on arrival were more manageable! All the best. Wayne

Your forward canopy seal is installed backwards and might allow water to get in your cockpit. One half of the seal has a square edge and the other has a tapered edge. The tapered edge is meant to engage along the inner bead of the double bead seal on the windshield bow. The half with the square edge should be glued flat against the canopy bow with the tapered half protruding forward. Thanks for the very entertaining video. There seemed to be some concern with wind. The ATIS mentioned winds from 110 at 23kts. Seems like that would be a fairly straight-on headwind on runway 10. Was that runway not available? Thanks.
Glad you liked it Jon. Regarding the winds at KSAF, the concern was mainly raised by ATC, as a jet was possibly unable to land due to the gusty winds (reported gusting at 37). My guess is the jet was possibly unable to land on 10 perhaps due to the unique terrain for that particular approach and other runways exceeded it's crosswind limits. Regardless, I ended up landing 10 and the winds, while squirrelly, weren't too bad. My main concern, however, was if I needed to go around, my airplane performance was limited as DA at the time was around 10K. Getting blown around with 37 kt gusts in that scenario is not ideal.
@@jthrilla9147 I actually learned to fly on Long Island in Farmingdale. They are equally hectic. Would love to take the Tiger there one day. If I do and you’re in the area…let’s go fly!

Why not go "crazy french" pronunciation and say something like "presque-oot"? Very nice trip video! Your maps show straight lines, but did you have to do some zig-zagging for terrain? What were some of your higher elevations?
Ha. Yeah I certainly didn't fly as straight as my GFX show. Santa Fe was the highest airport I landed at on this trip...6,550. The biggest issue on the trip was density altitude in AZ and NM. Def a consideration for planning where to stop. Times like those I wish I had more horsepower.
Norway...nice. That would be an amazing place to fly. The video was a little short but honestly I prefer making them shorter when I don't have enough interesting footage to show.
David, if terrain isn't an issue I'm usually at @ 8000-ish. It's kinda the sweet spot for the Tiger. There I'm usually pulled back to 2600 RPM. Saves on fuel consumption. Oftentimes in the Southwest USA I go up to 11,500 or so for terrain clearance. At those altitudes I'm usually burning 8.5 gal/hr at around 128kt TAS. My longest leg I've done was 4.5 hrs and I still had 16 gallons left in the tank when I landed.
Epic! I haven't done a long cross country overnighter trip since EAA 2017. I think it's time to do one soon. Nice job with the filming and glad it was "uneventful". PS - give my condolences to Venus. :-)
You’re a fantastic story teller and the cinematography is fantastic. Feel lucky that the algorithm recommended your channel.

Yeah it was a little gusty but almost down the runway. DA was over 9K so not much spare power for go around.
