It'll be a little harder to shoot out of but greatly greatly reduce the chance of a tornado getting in there :)

Extra Tip: Turn on smart cursor. Turning on smart cursor will allow you to teleport by just right clicking. Its very useful since you don't need to move your cursor onto the lever.
I never have this because I play modded so much (specifically calamity) so you craft truffle worms, way way harder but less annoying if that makes sense
After four failed attempts at getting through his 3rd stage on master mode, I was about to give up and get Golem first until I found this vid - trying to teleport in time while anxiously waiting for his glowing eyes to show up was the most fun, stressful, and hilarious moment I've had playing this game! Thanks for helping me get my first ever duke kill!
Some things to add, learned from other comments plus my own experimentation. 1) Most important is to turn on smart cursor (press Ctrl) so that you don't have to move your cursor over the lever to be able to activate it. That said, I do also have pressure plates for the very first teleport after Fishron has been summoned, so that I can get outta there asap without getting hit. 2) Only look at the minimap. If Fishron is on your screen, he's already too close. Use the minimap so you know which angle to shoot at, and know when he's about to come so you can teleport before he gets too close. This also solves this issue of cthulunadoes in the teleport booth, as that only seems to happen when he gets too close. 3) Teleporting more than necessary is safer than teleporting too late. Be trigger happy with the teleport lever, and you can do this fight without taking any damage. Especially during the final phase on expert mode when he teleports behind you, you might have to teleport a few times in a row without being able to get any shots off on him -- that's no problem, just play it safe and slow. 4) When farming for truffle worms, bring a Guide to Critter Companionship purchased from the zoologist, which prevents you from killing the worms accidentally. Also bring a water candle. Also spend your free time changing the shape of the biome to make as many long flat stretches as possible where it will be easy to catch worms, and bring some mud and mushroom seeds to help with this reshaping. 5) If one of your teleport booths is on the edge of the world, you can position your cursor in a way that you will never have to reaim after teleporting, meaning you can beat Fishron without even having to move your mouse, just hold down L-click and R-click whenever you want to teleport. Good luck all, I was struggling before, but now I can beat him without taking damage on Expert mode.
Lots of tips to catch truffle worms: Don’t ever have a weapon out. You may accidentally kill it. Make a truffle worm farm ONLY in the cavern layer. Dig out an area under the farm and put a platform with spiky ball traps above it because the hostile mobs not from the truffle worm farm will spawn there and die sometimes. When about to catch a truffle worm, hover above it and quickly swoop down to catch it and don’t hover too close to it because it will burrow down. Get a rare enemy detector to detect if a truffle worm is nearby. Do not change the jungle because if you do it is hard to change back which you may need to do. Use a summon to kill other pests, which I prefer the xenostaff because the summon can’t accidentally kill the truffle worm. Water candles do help in getting up the spawn rate for finding truffle worms so place one down. Dig a hole upwards to go up there to despawn mobs below the truffle worm farm and don’t go to far or you will despawn truffle worms. Please like so people can see
In 1.4 just have the accessory from the Zoologist that doesn't allow you to kill critters, problem solved. And in older versions i just always made artificial biomes myself for Truffle farming, i don't have the patience to do it legit.
This is actually a pretty great one. The other tutorials you kinda took immense damage, but for this one you took barely any. After you're done with this series can you do it in expert mode?
Duke FIshron consistently spawned his tornados either inside the box, or floating in the air directly under my box so it would leak in. Either that or he would spawn a sharknado in front of the entrance to one box while doing his spin move at the other, so no matter where you teleport there's a nonstop source of damage coming your way.
I had the same problem. The tornado spawns only if you are 95 blocks abouve the surface. Just build a small platform under your box with a 80 block gap :)
@@anivos3895 I eventually did it using the tactic in the video. Once I got stronger, I came back with a Zenith and killed him 5 times because of the frustration he caused me earlier in the playthrough haha
@@lihanloh8534 Even before the tornado didn't hit you, the tornado will remain at the teleport room and you do not have enough time to make it despawn since in his enraged form he's super quick. (I tried many times in expert mode but kept on getting killed due to the tornado remains there after I switch back to there. Moreover you can't stay in that room before the tornado despawns at the other teleport room as he will deal loads of damage to you)
@@gabio7913 there's a bubble which he shoots and when that hits you it spawns the tornado. So if u constantly teleport to avoid the bubble, it will pop between the teleporters and not in ur room

FYI; If you're having trouble with the bubble attack, you can put spear traps in front of the box to keep those from getting in your box. Works like a charm.
How to get truffle worm (by me) 1. Get a water candle and a net 2. Find a flat mushroom biome or make it flat or change biome by yourselfes 3. Leave the area off screen and hold a water candle 4. Wait for some minutes and check 5. Speed up the project by using Lifeform Analyzer from Traveling Merchant for 5 gold so that you don't need to check everytime, the Lifeform Analyzer will detecte Truffle Worm display on the screen so you will kmow when to catch it
I suggest that with that flat area you make good room above it so you can pretty much land on the worm with the help of your wings. By doing this I caught about 6 in total with little hassle.
I beat Fishron as mage before mechanical bosses after 6 tries. The point is you try as many times you can, learn most of boss attacks and then mentally and physically (like buffs) prepared beat the boss without any troubles
I cannot emphasize this enough, thank you! This worked so well, and I found out if you hit control so that the cursor autoselects, you can hover your cursor above the switch and it worked easily. I laughed so hard because I could not believe how easily I killed fishron pre-plantera. Love your vids man!
this guys say beating fishron is easy as taking a candy from a baby, and hard to get truffle worm. for me truffle worm is easy as taking a candy from a baby, and hard to beat fishron.
Quick tip for this: use smart cursor to automatically target the levers when you want to teleport. If you do this, you might want to move the campfire up to the ceiling of your box so you don’t click it by accident and don’t teleport. Another tip: if you’re really worried about being knocked off of the teleporter by a stray shark or the duke himself, just use one of the knockback immunity shields.
For any one having issues with sharknadoes on the second for. You are supposed to keep teleporting away from the blue spiral he lets off bc it will home on u and spawn a tornado in ur cage. Try to teleport at most 3 times when it appears on screen. He will also release bubbles after the tornadoes so watch out. 3rd phase he will be part invisible and teleport behind u for a lot of the last stretch but just keep shooting and he’ll drop. My recommended weapons are the terra blade and influx waver bc of the high damage from the sword beams
this method still works in 1.4 :D, just started playing terraria all of your boss strats really helps alot !, also chlorophyte bullet makes it more easier since you dont have to aim :>
This Teleport method seems like a perfect idea, but in practice this didn't work with me. I bet Fishron like 4 times before, just flying around with wings and shooting. I've tried it with this teleport method for like many times and it always gets screwered up. Tornados appear all the time inside the teleport room and ruins the whole thing. I can't understand how it looks and sounds so easy here. EDIT. Actually I found a working way for myself: Flying (with Steampunk wings) around a BIG arena with Terrablade, Beetle armor, Master Ninja Gear, Fire Gauntlet, Lightning Boots and Charm of Myths.
dezzi ryan no, he ran because if his weapons defeated the 4 cultists, he would summon lunatic cultist. Thus, Duke Fishron and Lunatic Cultist would have to be defeated at the same time.
I wonder how this setup fairs against Expert Fishron. He has 3 phases there and deals a lot more damage. I usually just fly around in circles using the UFO mount and shoot homing rockets/bullets. One of the more stressful fights in Terraria.

this guide was actually extremely helpful!! i was having an INSANE amount of trouble with dick bitchron and was starting to lose patience, and after trying this strategy it was incredibly easy to kill him!
I love how he went from "He's so powerful, there's no way of defeating him... Or is there?" and "You made it to hell!" to "I lost to a boss, which will be reflected onto my family in the future
Was hunting Crimson mobs for Souls of Night, found a very small mushroom biome nestled between the Crimson and Hallow areas right above hell. Happened across a truffle worm there and decided to stick around for a while and see if I could snag more. I ended up with eleven of them, and mostly stopped because I ran out of inventory space due to all the other loot. So, yeah, I think a small mushroom area works fine as long as you keep passing through it enough that the worms have a chance to spawn. This also makes it easier to clear out other enemies since only a limited number will have a chance to appear. The real trick is to make sure it has flat surfaces, no nooks and crannies the worms can nestle into, and to neutralize any lava if present. If you have a life-form analyzer, keep and eye on it since it will alert you way before you see the worm itself. Also, you can actually get relatively close without startling them, so my advice would be to sorta sneak up on them and then pounce them with the net ready. You do have to be quick, but I suspect panicking and rushing in is what messes people up the most. Occasionally the worms would actually start moving towards me so I just had to stand still and wait. EDIT: After making this post I went back and tried it some more, and refined my technique somewhat. (Basically making shorter, quicker passes through the mushroom patch.) I know have thirty truffle worms.
Use wall tiles so lever placement height can be adjusted. This helps to maintain any ranged weapon's accuracy, against in game physics, while still having quick-click access to teleport.
everytime i do this the sharknado will spawn in the box. ive tried it multiple ways too. fast teleports, smaller boxes, nothing works EDIT: I found a way on my own. I don't make boxes around the teleporters, and its just as small as possible platform with teleporter, switch, and campfire. What I do is I will set out two nimbus clouds infront of one platform to destroy all bubbles. For the blue tornado that will follow you, you just have to teleport before it reaches you, and it will despawn on the way to you. Hope this helps.
@@sirpip I eventually made it work. Had to close down the boxes alot, tp much faster and just drag it out alot. I came back to him later with better gear. Espec the the Influx Waver helped me out a ton. GL
For anyone who has this despawning issue (I'm on Switch btw): I was fighting the boss on the east ocean biome (in game fully zoomed out so my game doesn't crash) and on my left teleporter on the ocean's left side it was a little too far off and I think when I hit it it technically counted as going out of the ocean biome. As soon as I moved it further in towards the other teleporter and away from the edge of the biome (so close to the other teleporter that they were both on the same screen lol) duke stopped having despawn issues. I used an S.M.D.G. with ichor bullets, full solar armor set, menacing shiny stone, warding solar wings, warding ankh shield, warding charm of myths, warding celestial shell, and warding worm scarf on expert. And during the final enrage phase it STILL did an insane amount of damage and I almost died. I also had a terrible setup not fully committing to melee or ranged class so having watched this video and working out the crap with my teleporters I have to say that this strategy works even with a dumb build. Pretty much get a wrench and some wire from the mechanic, throw down some statues in a box and pour 1 layer of lava on em, hook up the wire to where it's hitting each statue, and then link the wire to a 1 second timer (made with a gold/platinum watch and a wire). All you gotta do is make sure the wire is touching the timer, and also the statues, and then you can turn the timer on and it will do the work for you brotha
I added a bit more to this to use for myself and it worked...Amazingly!! Attack him with the megasgark and ichor bullets every now and then, purely to get the ichor debuff, but then switch to a chlorophyte shot bow loaded with holy arrows. The chlorophyte shotbow shoots 3 arrows at once and when used with holy arrows, its devastating to almost every single boss! This end up making the boss fight very, very easy

Update: this idea don't work as well as it should... Everytime I teleport he just doesn't get far enough away from the teleporter, he ends up flying back over and dropping my health to 3 everytime
A good hook to use would be the one you get from the slime queen: it teleports you to where ever you’re aiming the second it makes contact, so the truffle worm literally doesn’t have time to react
I’m just gonna give up on duke bc ever time I teleport he despons and everytime I bring the teleportes closer he attacks to fast and theirs not much time to react
Moosh MyRooms well I was just gonna quit but then I noticed that since he used shrumight armor so I tried it and it helped a lot and so I ended up defeating it now all I got to do it destroy the pillars because I accidentally beat the lutanic cultist before duke 😂
Woah thats cool Few tips: The Duke Fishron Mount that has a 100% chance of dropping, is super slow on land but is the fastest mount ever in the game IN WATER. So I recomend building a continous line of tunnels: you can have infinite ♾ water with the “Endless water bucket” that the Angler rewards you for fishing
With the weapons you are using wouldnt it be best to do this immediately after the destroyer?, it looks like even without the inprovements in armour and the extra hearts you still would have made it.
This video really helped me for the first few stages, but I’m playing on master mode and I get completely destroyed in the third and final stage, any tips for that?
For someone who just found this, I will tell you! A homing projectile is not very effective in this strategy since it can, and always, chases the sharks too!
Duke keeps shooting the detonating bubbles at me and the tornado gets in the box that i built. Im just gonna wait till i have beatle armour and then kill him. found it useful to use smart cursor, because it will always have the lever highlighted so you can aim wherever and one left click will teleport you. Also, the shiny stone golem drops is very helpful.
You kinda have to be very good with your timing since the tornados in the 2nd phase will home to the player. I use pressure plates as you can get your timing better by just jumping. And in expert mode you'll have to be very patient im the 3rd phase because you can only hit him for a few times before you must teleport again
Can someone help me? I tried 9 times already and can't kill it. The last 3 times (after building a better arena) he got really low and than summoned a tornado inside my teleporter. I'm using shroomite armor + megarshak and chloro bullets. Tried tenth time, same freaking thing happened. A tornado inside one of the rooms. I have 61def.
The first arena I made was too low towards the ground so tornadoes reach my teleporters. My second try, I built it about less halfway to the top of the map(large map). So just the tornadoes doesnt reach me. I adjusted it "by experience" how high the tornadoes could get.also I put platforms at the surface of the sea so the tornadoes will spawn there. And not on my teleporters. Also I changed the switches on teleporters to player activated buttons(and put it on top of teleporter) so I just need to jump a little to activate the teleporters. My teleporters are about 130-ish apart. (measured by wires as I put them) and it worked! I killed that annoying pig fish dragon
@@kurtblasco4661 yeah i forgot to edit my answer... on eleventh try i took time to build the arena a bit better and also to "duplicate" it some blocks below. When the tornado was at my room i just fell to the backup arena.

evidently, it does matter that you teleport too much because he just despawned.
Something I found usefull is using a pressure plate instead of a lever, you just need to walk forwards to teleport
But with the lever there are no sharknados

@@lihanloh8534 Even before the tornado didn't hit you, the tornado will remain at the teleport room and you do not have enough time to make it despawn since in his enraged form he's super quick. (I tried many times in expert mode but kept on getting killed due to the tornado remains there after I switch back to there. Moreover you can't stay in that room before the tornado despawns at the other teleport room as he will deal loads of damage to you)
@@gabio7913 there's a bubble which he shoots and when that hits you it spawns the tornado. So if u constantly teleport to avoid the bubble, it will pop between the teleporters and not in ur room

FYI; If you're having trouble with the bubble attack, you can put spear traps in front of the box to keep those from getting in your box. Works like a charm.
How to get truffle worm (by me)
1. Get a water candle and a net
2. Find a flat mushroom biome or make it flat or change biome by yourselfes
3. Leave the area off screen and hold a water candle
4. Wait for some minutes and check
5. Speed up the project by using Lifeform Analyzer from Traveling Merchant for 5 gold so that you don't need to check everytime, the Lifeform Analyzer will detecte Truffle Worm display on the screen so you will kmow when to catch it
You're the Michael Jordan of truffle worms, if only I had tried this! The bastards gave me a rotten time
I suggest that with that flat area you make good room above it so you can pretty much land on the worm with the help of your wings. By doing this I caught about 6 in total with little hassle.

I beat Fishron as mage before mechanical bosses after 6 tries. The point is you try as many times you can, learn most of boss attacks and then mentally and physically (like buffs) prepared beat the boss without any troubles

I cannot emphasize this enough, thank you! This worked so well, and I found out if you hit control so that the cursor autoselects, you can hover your cursor above the switch and it worked easily. I laughed so hard because I could not believe how easily I killed fishron pre-plantera. Love your vids man!
this guys say beating fishron is easy as taking a candy from a baby, and hard to get truffle worm. for me truffle worm is easy as taking a candy from a baby, and hard to beat fishron.
Quick tip for this: use smart cursor to automatically target the levers when you want to teleport.
If you do this, you might want to move the campfire up to the ceiling of your box so you don’t click it by accident and don’t teleport.
Another tip: if you’re really worried about being knocked off of the teleporter by a stray shark or the duke himself, just use one of the knockback immunity shields.

For any one having issues with sharknadoes on the second for. You are supposed to keep teleporting away from the blue spiral he lets off bc it will home on u and spawn a tornado in ur cage. Try to teleport at most 3 times when it appears on screen. He will also release bubbles after the tornadoes so watch out. 3rd phase he will be part invisible and teleport behind u for a lot of the last stretch but just keep shooting and he’ll drop. My recommended weapons are the terra blade and influx waver bc of the high damage from the sword beams

This Teleport method seems like a perfect idea, but in practice this didn't work with me. I bet Fishron like 4 times before, just flying around with wings and shooting. I've tried it with this teleport method for like many times and it always gets screwered up. Tornados appear all the time inside the teleport room and ruins the whole thing. I can't understand how it looks and sounds so easy here.
EDIT. Actually I found a working way for myself: Flying (with Steampunk wings) around a BIG arena with Terrablade, Beetle armor, Master Ninja Gear, Fire Gauntlet, Lightning Boots and Charm of Myths.

I wonder how this setup fairs against Expert Fishron. He has 3 phases there and deals a lot more damage. I usually just fly around in circles using the UFO mount and shoot homing rockets/bullets. One of the more stressful fights in Terraria.
for the truffle worm farming, i recommend getting the "guide to critter companionship" from the zoologist, and make the glowing mushroom biome flat

For anyone who wants to try it, use pressure plates instead of levers. You won't have to bother moving your mouse.

Was hunting Crimson mobs for Souls of Night, found a very small mushroom biome nestled between the Crimson and Hallow areas right above hell. Happened across a truffle worm there and decided to stick around for a while and see if I could snag more. I ended up with eleven of them, and mostly stopped because I ran out of inventory space due to all the other loot.
So, yeah, I think a small mushroom area works fine as long as you keep passing through it enough that the worms have a chance to spawn. This also makes it easier to clear out other enemies since only a limited number will have a chance to appear. The real trick is to make sure it has flat surfaces, no nooks and crannies the worms can nestle into, and to neutralize any lava if present. If you have a life-form analyzer, keep and eye on it since it will alert you way before you see the worm itself.
Also, you can actually get relatively close without startling them, so my advice would be to sorta sneak up on them and then pounce them with the net ready. You do have to be quick, but I suspect panicking and rushing in is what messes people up the most. Occasionally the worms would actually start moving towards me so I just had to stand still and wait.
EDIT: After making this post I went back and tried it some more, and refined my technique somewhat. (Basically making shorter, quicker passes through the mushroom patch.) I know have thirty truffle worms.

Use wall tiles so lever placement height can be adjusted. This helps to maintain any ranged weapon's accuracy, against in game physics, while still having quick-click access to teleport.
everytime i do this the sharknado will spawn in the box. ive tried it multiple ways too. fast teleports, smaller boxes, nothing works
EDIT: I found a way on my own. I don't make boxes around the teleporters, and its just as small as possible platform with teleporter, switch, and campfire. What I do is I will set out two nimbus clouds infront of one platform to destroy all bubbles. For the blue tornado that will follow you, you just have to teleport before it reaches you, and it will despawn on the way to you. Hope this helps.

For anyone who has this despawning issue (I'm on Switch btw): I was fighting the boss on the east ocean biome (in game fully zoomed out so my game doesn't crash) and on my left teleporter on the ocean's left side it was a little too far off and I think when I hit it it technically counted as going out of the ocean biome. As soon as I moved it further in towards the other teleporter and away from the edge of the biome (so close to the other teleporter that they were both on the same screen lol) duke stopped having despawn issues.
I used an S.M.D.G. with ichor bullets, full solar armor set, menacing shiny stone, warding solar wings, warding ankh shield, warding charm of myths, warding celestial shell, and warding worm scarf on expert. And during the final enrage phase it STILL did an insane amount of damage and I almost died. I also had a terrible setup not fully committing to melee or ranged class so having watched this video and working out the crap with my teleporters I have to say that this strategy works even with a dumb build. Thanks Waffle!

Pretty much get a wrench and some wire from the mechanic, throw down some statues in a box and pour 1 layer of lava on em, hook up the wire to where it's hitting each statue, and then link the wire to a 1 second timer (made with a gold/platinum watch and a wire). All you gotta do is make sure the wire is touching the timer, and also the statues, and then you can turn the timer on and it will do the work for you brotha
I added a bit more to this to use for myself and it worked...Amazingly!! Attack him with the megasgark and ichor bullets every now and then, purely to get the ichor debuff, but then switch to a chlorophyte shot bow loaded with holy arrows. The chlorophyte shotbow shoots 3 arrows at once and when used with holy arrows, its devastating to almost every single boss! This end up making the boss fight very, very easy

I found that with a Cosmic Key Car, Terra Blade, and Turtle Armor, that the fight was much easier than with shroomite armor and a megashark tbh

Update: this idea don't work as well as it should... Everytime I teleport he just doesn't get far enough away from the teleporter, he ends up flying back over and dropping my health to 3 everytime

A good hook to use would be the one you get from the slime queen: it teleports you to where ever you’re aiming the second it makes contact, so the truffle worm literally doesn’t have time to react

Few tips:
The Duke Fishron Mount that has a 100% chance of dropping, is super slow on land but is the fastest mount ever in the game IN WATER. So I recomend building a continous line of tunnels: you can have infinite ♾ water with the “Endless water bucket” that the Angler rewards you for fishing
Id recommend bringing a friend with u to do the teleportation

With the weapons you are using wouldnt it be best to do this immediately after the destroyer?, it looks like even without the inprovements in armour and the extra hearts you still would have made it.
This video really helped me for the first few stages, but I’m playing on master mode and I get completely destroyed in the third and final stage, any tips for that?
For someone who just found this, I will tell you! A homing projectile is not very effective in this strategy since it can, and always, chases the sharks too!
Duke keeps shooting the detonating bubbles at me and the tornado gets in the box that i built.

I found that golem hammer works well as it locks onto fishron and has 90 damage
He keeps spawning tornadoes in my box when he goes in anger mode
found it useful to use smart cursor, because it will always have the lever highlighted so you can aim wherever and one left click will teleport you. Also, the shiny stone golem drops is very helpful.
You kinda have to be very good with your timing since the tornados in the 2nd phase will home to the player. I use pressure plates as you can get your timing better by just jumping. And in expert mode you'll have to be very patient im the 3rd phase because you can only hit him for a few times before you must teleport again
Can someone help me? I tried 9 times already and can't kill it. The last 3 times (after building a better arena) he got really low and than summoned a tornado inside my teleporter.

They say make a hole in your teleportation room and rest it should be a closed room. To reduce the chances of tornadoes getting in...

The first arena I made was too low towards the ground so tornadoes reach my teleporters. My second try, I built it about less halfway to the top of the map(large map). So just the tornadoes doesnt reach me. I adjusted it "by experience" how high the tornadoes could get.also I put platforms at the surface of the sea so the tornadoes will spawn there. And not on my teleporters. Also I changed the switches on teleporters to player activated buttons(and put it on top of teleporter) so I just need to jump a little to activate the teleporters. My teleporters are about 130-ish apart. (measured by wires as I put them) and it worked! I killed that annoying pig fish dragon
@@kurtblasco4661 yeah i forgot to edit my answer... on eleventh try i took time to build the arena a bit better and also to "duplicate" it some blocks below. When the tornado was at my room i just fell to the backup arena.
