You used the phasesaber, which is the hardmode variant of the phaseblade, which might explain why the fight with the eater went so well

Not fighting hardmode bosses in 4 years is so on brand
ever since i started playing expert instead of classic my life turned around. my father came back, my grades rebounded, and my mother will now look me in the eyes. truly a life changing experience.

maybe the reason the eater of worlds was so easy was because you were using the hardmode upgrade to the phaseblade and not actually a phaseblade

The sand thing on the destroyer wasn't to lock themselves in place but to keep taking suffocation damage instead of any other damage. Why they also had the cross necklace

nope! the sand actually stops enemies from using ranged attacks (lasers) bc they dont think they can shoot the player through it, if you watch the video you can see that the player isnt taking suffocation damage but is also not getting shot at by probes or the destroyer only when in the sand!
I love how some of these tutorials use endgame items like you haven’t beat the queen bee yet post-duke

The rotted fork is recommended for it's knockback for the brain's second phase. It's basically just another crimson heart drop. Idk how you never heard of it, they're not at all uncommon.

I remember that my first run. I wasn’t able to defeat skeleton and my friend suggested terraria wiki. So I went there and the strat was to use harpoon. Now it sounds like the stupidest idea, but I beat him first try and after that thought that harpoon is op for a while.

All I learned from this video is that the grav potion is the greatest item in terraria and totally not annoying at all
Dude, I started playing back in 2011 and let me tell you it used to be GOATED
Grav potions were invaluable in 1.1 Terraria as your best wings were angel or demon wings, which while arguably sufficient, didn't grant you infinite flight, and iirc capped out a lower speed than falling's max velocity.
Another thing you'll see a lot of older players overvalue is hooks. Old school players use hooks to dodge more than the actual dodge accessories.
oh and one more thing on grav potions, being grounded sucked in old Terraria without an arena so gravity potions were often considered an arena skip.
I just want to say, I just saw the thumbnail and I immediately went "damn. I'd love to play some terraria now" so thanks for taking me out of my burnout!!

The daytime empress guide was actually really good- a guaranteed Dodge and a chance at an additional dodge is amazing against a guaranteed 1 shot, it's just outdated, as you can expect from a really old guide. If you go back like 1-2 versions it would work just fine

leaf wings were buffed in 1.4.4 to be as good as other post-plantera wings; in 1.3.0.1 they were equivalent to other early hardmode wings, so they were even worse in the video
the switching of the leaf wings is understandable bc they did nerf them heavily in 1.4
I recall searching up how to beat the destroyer. They used the Magical Harp. I was console at the time and it reminded me when vilethorne stayed in one place which was goated against eater of worlds. Good times... good times...
skeletron and some other bosses (like queen bee) were fought in journey difficulty they had 1/2 hp (nvm genius figured it out)
The Empress of Light fight would have been soo much easier if you just used a grav potion. smh
