I can't recommend mage enough, probably the most interesting/ fun class for a blind playthrough of calamity. tons of really fun stuff and a fairly consistent growth without too many dull points in progression
i made the mistake of thinking i could just play calamity and yeah no you NEED magic storage, the mod expects you to have it and just hoard random pre-hardmode materials for use in post-moonlord recipes for no reason
i dont know how much you've recorded in advance, but the only quality of life mod ill ever recommend is magic storage. using chests is absolute hell especially when you have thousands of unique items so at least having magic storage fixes that
Yeah this is the only QoL mod I'd recommend for Calamity. It's a huge mod = tons of new stuff = please god don't make me sift through 100 chests. And since so many new weapons need older weapons to craft, you don't want to throw out anything either. I don't personally think you need any other QoL, unless you just want to make your playthrough easier.
Here's a really good tip for calamity: get deep red paint to make the hornet (thanks to brot for pointing out it wasn't a volcano) building more red. you can make it with 2 red paint per at a dye station from the dye trader. That should seriously boost your firepower

The cloud is not a stable way to save you character or world, I have been set back days in progress due to it bugging out and sending me back 5 bosses. You'd be better of making your own backups for your characters and worlds by creating your own separate folders, finding the files for your character and world in your terraria, tmodloader, characters/worlds folder, and then copying them and pasting them in your backup folders. Of course, you can leave it up to fate, but that's up to you. Also, you are doing great for not looking at the wiki and only really getting past EOC most playthroughs. Good job!
A little advice: If you use the rod of discord deep down in the abyss (around when the music changes to 'void'), there is a chance to spawn a relatively weak enemy which can drop a really powerful weapon, its a reference to some game from what ive heard Edit: a question for you. When you start a terraria playthrough, are you a copper shortsword guy or a wooden sword guy? Do you use the copper shortsword or do you instantly make a wooden sword?

Btw dont worry about needing quality of life mods, i usually only play calamity with magic storage so i wont need 20 chests and alchemist npc is nice but you can easily craft potions from blood orbs dropped by enemyies during the blood moon
Stealth is this bar underneath your character, it is filled when you are not attacking, and is wasted when you attack, there are accessories for less consumption of it, some weapons have special attacks when used with full stealth, and all rouge damage is greatly increased with it, also rogue is "definitely not overpowered"
9:53 you missed the onyx excavator (one of the fastest ways of mining in a straight right/left line until post moonlord) it's at the right side of the structure you found with some spotlights pointing at it and some turrets defending
Quick little tip installing magic storage will make things so much easier to take in with all the new items and recipes since it can show you exactly what you can make and is very easy to use. Literally cant live without it when you first experience the convinence of magic storage. Same goes for smarter cursor and some of the other mods the devs put on the front of the tmodloader workshop. With that out of the way after you do beat calamity (which im sure you will dont worry lil bro) you should try out some other mods to spice up the playthrough like combining it with thorium, remnants, or some reworks like calamity overhaul. If your feeling spicy you could include the dragon ball addons that are compatiable and fit into calamity's progression or the expanded terreria mod to enhance the early game and keep it fresh without abusing the same metas for every playthrough. And if your REALLY feeling spicy that day you could include all of them all at the same time with some quality of life like high fps support or the lights and shadows mod. Side note one mod in particualar adds 2 new superbosses to the calamity which are meant to be atrociously hard only to be challenged when you reach the absolute peak of progression in your playthrough. Its name is Wrath of the Gods and make sure to install it along with his other mod named "You." Not as powerful as the gods but still a post moon lord challenge.
Fun fact: you can change the boss bar to the Calamity style boss bar which is modeled after Metal Gear Rising! Also be ready for a long playthrough lol, my Calamity playthroughs take around 30-40 hours each, and I speed through them (relatively)
If you don't get magic storage you will know the meaning of pain, seriously there are so many more items in calamity and especially so many more large crafting recipes that inventory clutter and chest sorting become a massive issue.
No matter how bad you can do, I can't even beat Calamity on Classic so you have my respect. Honestly I really should just cave and start using arenas or the wiki...

There is a secret NPC you can get in the ocean who sells good weapons for early hardmode. All you have to do is go to the ocean and kill a ???.
Its a bit expensive but the weappons are honestly so good i dint know why mkkre people dont talk about it

Calamity already has fast respawn, except when a boss is alive.
