I remember this so vividly because me and my friends loved Andrew Dice Clay. We were like 13 or 14 or so and he was hilarious. I also remember how they absolutely broke him down and I remember watching him crying on I think it was arsenio Hall and explaining that he’s not really the act you saw on stage in real life. What’s sad is as kids we even knew that it was a comedy act but adults at the time were so hell bent on ruining him and his life. I really truly felt bad for him and from that day Andrew Dice Clay was no more. It was stupid then, now that I’m an adult its stupid now, and now Cancel culture is in full swing.
It used to be fashionable to stand against censorship and now it’s the complete opposite. It’s stylish to support cancel culture and condemn freedom of speech.
as a member of gen z, I didn't know who he really was until I saw this video but I've followed him on instagram for a while now. This video is what's wrong with comedy, society, schools. You name it. Nuance is lost on everyone these days. Thick skin doesn't exsist and frankly, a good sense of humor is seriously lacking
Complaining about this 30 years later accomplishes what? In the time, it drew audiences. Now? Not okay. I’m totally okay with the “now”. But what are we highlighting? Times progress. That’s the nature of things. Appreciate the progression instead of finding enemies in the past.
Well fucking said! I salute you 🫡
Do you know what the “Dark side of the …’s” series is about? It’s to examine the dark sides of things from the PAST. That’s the whole entire point. If watching them examine his character and comedy from the past makes you feel butt hurt then simply don’t watch snowflake
I like your take on this.
it was a better time for sure
They gunna do a dark side of comedy episode on Bobby lees Tijuana story?
Andrew Dice Clay is a legend
I don’t think Dice realized he was part of the origins of MAGA. These are the same people why Chappelle walked from Chappelle Show. To prove my point, just post a clip from 35 years ago of a Dice routine and see how many MAGA give it a thumbs up….
Dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever read
still hilarious and still just jokes.
name one bit from this piece that was funny. this is straight up hate speech catering to white men.

@@Aid.eonly an idiot wouldn’t get the distinction, it’s an outlet for things people would never say IRL just like all great comedy
I guess this elementary school teacher / HR department culture warriors want to pretend everyone is a complete idiot and that language has no context, and everything is black or white the second the tiniest amount of risk exists
So in retrospect that won’t be a persuasive argument to that sort of
rose tinted glasses. i remember him from my childhood from the "jack and jill" joke. i forgot how bad his jokes were on so many levels.
JACK AND GILL WENT UP THE HILL EACH WITH A BUCK AND A QUARTER
JILL CAME DOWN WITH 2.50
OHHHHHHHH! that f**kin whore!
AMAZING COMEDY ALSO USED BY AFROMAN IN A SONG!
he really wanted to be a meta comic. he really really wanted his humour to be anti-humour. but he failed. and he didn't care that he failed. because the people who misunderstood it made him rich. and he didn't care.
Love Andrew Dice Clay! Let’s have more of him and his types
We love Andrew in Canada 🇨🇦 🙏🙏💙❤️
HE IS THE NEW LENNY BRUCE!!!
Fux sakes, if you don’t like the guy- there’s literally millions of hours of entertainment elsewhere. Life is far too short to jump into these documentaries where we HATE a certain person for being a hateful person. ironic or nnuh 🥴
criticism is not hate.
His videos are so original and hilarious on there so this whole act he had in the 80's is kind of mind-blowing to me. Sad to see you say he's no more bc he's definitely still got some chops from what i've seen
The 80’s and early 90’s….Andrew Dice Clay and Al Bundy. Need I say more?
"is the audience picking up on that nuance?" He literally mentions it point blank in the MSG special used in this episode that it's a character. This entire episode is a one-sided attack on Dice. And the fact that he wasn't brought on here to tell his side of the story proves the creators of the show had an agenda. Also the fact that Lisa Lampanelli was on here judging Dice was the ultimate hypocrisy.
Right?
Glad I wasn't the only one who felt the hypocrisy
They bleeped "geek", hahaha. That's Vice for you.
THEY ARE NOW A PARODY CHANNLE.
loved the DICE MAN. His brand of comedy never made me want to do harm to blacks, women gays etc. What's going on in our culture NOW is scary.
This guy is undisputed, absolute legend
whens its a woman making fun of men and demolishing them on stage its just jokes but when a man makes fun of women its taken seriously and called "hate speech" gimmie a break
So let me get the straight:
when an insult comic has conservative values and pushes the envelope clearly way too far, it's NOT okay. But when a liberal insult comic, pushes the envelope way too far it's okay cause they're liberal, right?!
When you punch up, you're fighting for what's right. When you punch down, you fight for what's wrong. Clay punched down and just looked like a classless, mindless jackass.
@@cityhawkthere is no such thing as punching up or down. It's a complete fiction so you can justify your hypocrisy
@@cityhawkYeah cause many articles, celebrities, and big named Politicians attacking free speech and defaming anyone who dares to vote red is punching up right?
People are too soft. Go play with Barbie’s and let the grown men do their own thing.
As an American, it's not my job to not offend you.
If you don't like what your seeing on TV, turn the channel.
If you don't like what's on the radio, turn the station.
It's FREE SPEECH. LOVE IT or LEAVE IT. 🇺🇲
if they're offended then they should Get Da Fuc outta Da CUNTry oohhhhh!
Okay nobody hears a joke about gay people on things gay people are less than. They think hey it's a joke. I know a couple of gay people that like dice, it's a joke. Stop. What time is the stick removal surgery? Like I said today's comedy landscape is literally a desert with a couple Oasis scattered around. In the 80s comedy was like a river. There were so many funny people out there.
Andrew Dice Clay was on time, his comedy was beautiful. People like what people like..
"you can tell she was made for f*cking", yeah, that's so beautiful. Almost made me cry.
6.55 That guy assigned to morally condemn the wrongthink can barely contain his obvious desire to laugh out loud.
A hit piece.
Different Era. Different rules.
Dice is one of the all time greats
Loved his comedy. If you don't like it, don't listen
As a member of Gen Z I’m ashamed that our generation has attacked their cancel culture on people like him
Our generation aint got no balls no more
@@nicoblanco4348 Society keeps on chopping them off lol.
I’m cracking up now I’m gonna research this dude
It’s so bad that vice only interviewed Bobby Lee and people who are gay. Not showing both perspectives at all
ALSO THEY TRICKED BOBBY AND DIDNT TELL HIM IT WAS A SLAM PEICE BOBBY AND ANDY ARE FRIENDS
I’ve been watching this series on Vice and I just realized the narrator is Dave Foley form Kids in the Hall
I love all these jokes. Thanks for making a compilation of some of his best material
If only a young Dice could be roasting now.
This is honestly such a disrespect to Dice and to Comedy..
I first saw him as an actor on Crime Story so I was confused to see him doing stand up as that character. It was the HBO special. Novel to say the least but let’s say a little goes a long way. Goes on to do MSG & SNL. Solid three year run till Boom 💥 he’s done. The Arsenio Show was the death knell. Kinnison mocking him? Hilarious. Washed up on Stern telling anyone who listened I played the Garden.
I still can’t believe he cried lmao
I am sure he stays up at night worrying about what you have to say about him. Kinnison was a jealous little man, sad because he was funny too. How many comedians played the Garden to a sell out crowd before or since?
"How many comedians played the Garden to a sell out crowd before or since?"
Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Louis CK, Dane Cook, Dave Chappelle, George Carlin, Russell Peters, Kevin Hart, and Aziz Ansari

All BS and bad for you. It's a routine. I saw him at the forum in LA in the late 80s. Funny as hell.
howd they get bobby lee wtf
He’s been on Bobbys podcast
THEY TRICKED BOBBY AND DIDNT TELL HIM IT WAS A HIT PEICE; BOBBY LOVES DICE!
