    Quick, lean, powerful, explosive. I don't care about his championship runs with the Lakers, Magic Shaq will always be the best Shaq in my book.
    The should've figured it out together and build a dynasty then, too bad.

    3:26 was a perfect example of how unstoppable he was. That’s Antonio Davis, one of the stronger players in the league, and shaq backed him down almost 15 feet in 2 seconds, totally manhandled him. This in a more physical defensive era as far as contact goes. Hed obliterate the nba today with rules the way they are. He’s be doubled/tripled every time.

    • @DeeRemedy
      @DeeRemedy 3 года назад +3

      Well doubles weren’t really allowed early in his career but I think he’d be no doubt better offensively but worse defensively because of the perimeter play style now

    • @MrRyan-wu4jx
      @MrRyan-wu4jx 3 года назад +3

      What you’re not taking into account is this was before zone defense in the nba. It was much easier to post up without an extra defender allowed to collapse down. His scoring average dropped considerably the year after the rule change and never approached 30 PPG again.

    • @ranholic5027
      @ranholic5027 3 года назад +2

      @@MrRyan-wu4jx @Mr. Ryan dropped down considerably? Lmaoo Lakers shaq that had zone defense literally had no effect on his game.. he had his career high in fg percentage in his heat years wih 20ppg.. and he never had 30ppg in his career wtf are you talkin about?He had stable 28 to 29ppg in his early to prime years with averages of 58 to 59% fg.
      Zone or not no one can stop Shaq Magic or Lakers.. you overrate zone defense like it was the most unstoppable defense but now zone was being exposed by making a team with 3pointers and one slasher like gianiss, Lebron, etc..

    • @MrRyan-wu4jx
      @MrRyan-wu4jx 3 года назад

      @@ranholic5027 I never said he did average 30. 29.3 and 29.7 PPG is approaching 30 PPG, 21.5, 20.0, and 17.3 isn’t. Of course you’re gonna shoot a higher field goal percentage taking 5 less shots a game and picking your spots better because you’re double teamed before you can even get the ball like he did in Miami and really it wasn’t even a considerable increase. And I’m not talking about the effect on cutters or 3 point shooters, I’m talking the effect on Shaq. There’s no way around that zone D is what lead to the decrease in straight post up scoring league wide. Shaq went from having one guy to beat on offense to several, it’s not rocket science.

    • @ranholic5027
      @ranholic5027 3 года назад

    What he does against Gheorge Muresan at 0:58 shows basketball IQ. Since he gave up half a foot to Muresan, he had to play like a guard by rolling to the other side of the rim to use it as a shield. You rarely see a center have to do that.

    This is how Shaq would look had he got into the league today. A 330 pounds monster instead of the 350+ one in Lakers.

    I always wonder what shaq was like in training and practice..to me there's no doubt he had to go at 50% cuz he was going to hurt someone or his teammates, I wonder what would he have been like if I could have really unleashed without fear of injury.

    Nice highlights of NBA basketball player Shaquille O'Neal of Orlando Magic. Orlando should've never traded Shaquille to Los Angeles Lakers. I'm happy for Shaquille that he won 4 championships with the Lakers and Miami Heat. I wish Shaquille could've got a championship with my hometown basketball team Cleveland Cavs. Shaquille O'Neal was the most dominant center because nobody could defend Shaquille. Only bad thing about Shaquille O'Neal game was he couldn't make free throws. Shaquille should've never made rap music albums and movies.

    Always wanted to know what the guy on the mic said every time the Magic played a home game. He said "A" for penny, "3D" for Denis Scott, Nick Anderson for the obvious but never knew what he said for Shaq

    Shaq's pump fake to gather all that energy for an explosive slam needs to be studied.
