iPad mini in 2023 - Don't Be FOOLED!

- Apple sure took its time updating the iPad mini 5 and when it finally did update to the new iPad mini 6 I and many other users were thrilled that the iPad mini was getting the modern redesign love that had graced other excellent iPads like the iPad Pro and iPad Air. However, Apple did something a little different when they redesigned the iPad mini, they took this from being a budget oriented iPad to being a premium small tablet with a higher price tag than even the bigger 10.9 inch iPad which shares a similiar design, and arguably has more features at a cheaper price point. So is the expensive iPad mini still worth it in 2023 and do we even need small tablets anymore?

What do you think - do we still need an iPad mini in 2023? Also if you do need or want an iPad mini consider buying it from a third party like amazon where it's usually $100 cheaper: amzn.to/40kDK6H (Affiliate link.)
Funny. I actually have one in my hand right now that I just bought about two months ago I love it when I’m traveling I take it to trade shows I take notes on it. It’s the perfect size. I’ll take photos of things I need to see in scribble notes right on the photo it fits in my pocket the battery lasts all day with the USB-C adapter, I can output movies to the hotel room TVs. For my youth case it’s absolutely perfect. I do wish I had spent the extra and got the cellular enabled one but if they ever come out with a new one, that’s the one I get. Great video as always.
I want a 2023 mini
I own on the iPad mini 6, and for me its the perfect iPad ever. I use it even more than my iPhone pro max for browsing , watching media content ,gaming , and reading especially when I am on my couch, or on my bed about to sleep. I also have no problem bringing it with me everywhere because it's very light and small (without being too small) for a tablet, but still very fast and powerful , and the battery is so great on this device. screen is very sharp too and colorful though i wish theres an oled version. I don't think I'm gonna upgrade to a newer iPad mini anytime soon unless Apple releases an iPad mini with an OLED display with 120 Hz promotion which i dont think is happening soon yet.
i can say this is one of my best purchases, no regrets buying this ipad. long story short, still a great buy in 2023 i think!
@@Alsam question. how can you output your ipad mini to tvs again via usb c connection? what are the accesories or cables needed to run it?
@@JadeBuaya get a usb c to hdmi adaptor. Easy. Same adaptor I use to output my Mac
I love/adore my mini it goes everywhere with me. I have an iPhone 13 pro max, an M2 Macbook air, a 12.9 inch M1 iPad and a mac mini for my desktop. Yet I always find myself grabbing my mini. My friends laugh at me because I will lay on the sofa and watch all my shows and youtube content on the mini instead of my 65 inch TV. I know crazy but thats how comfy it is to hold and watch. I recently added a DBrand skin and a Moft adhesive tablet stand and it was a game changer. Adds barely any weight and still can fit in a sling bag without having to carry an separate stand. I am 65 years young lol yet I can view all content with no problems. I highly recommend it to anyone and a few of my friends have actually brought it and now are in awe of it too. Great video!!!
I had an 11” iPad Pro for about 7 months and I got the iPad Mini cellular as a work device since I wanted to keep my phone for personal use and I noticed I started reaching for my mini more and more as I was home and at work. It’s so much more comfortable and convenient compared to the larger tablets I really hope it sticks around. I would love to see a mini pro model soon!
I upgraded from the mini 5 to the mini 6 when it released, and for me it sits perfectly between my other portable devices, an iPhone and a MacBook Air. I use it daily for content consumption, and I've never been disappointed.
My original iPad is second generation so I waited a bit to upgrade. My original still works ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA , but the battery is bad and won't stay charged so it always has to be plugged into a power source. The new 10th generation was a great bargain for Prime Day that I couldn't pass up. It was easy enough to set up: everything came down from iCloud with no issues.
I completely agree, I've had the LTE version since it came out and it is nearly the perfect device for my portable, heavy travel laden lifestyle. My 12.4 inch iPad Pro never leaves the house, but the Mini is used everyday, regardless of where I am: home, car, plane, restaurant, hotel...I would buy it again today, without fear of any pending upgrade.
I have a Mini 6 and an 11" iPad Pro. I use the 11" for work. I love my Mini 6! I take it everywhere w/me and I use it at night in bed as well. I have no regrets buying it. I just wish Apple would update the software on the Mini 6! I'm pretty sure we won't get the 7 for a while.
Dam you have 2 ipads
Same! 11inch for work with keyboard. Mini for browsing etc. and when I need two screens for work. Absolutely love it. Perfect for reading, you can take it anywhere, ideal size. Happy with it as is.
I have the mini 6 m2 iPad Pro 11” a iPad 9th gen a iPad 8th gen and my iPad Pro 12.9” from 2015 still works great there is a little screen delamination you can only see in a few spots when pure white background I turn on dark mode and u never see it and iPad Pro 2015 still has iOS 16 I also have a iPad 8th gen and a 6th gen they all have Apple care still except the 2015 model. That’s another thing that’s nuts.
Why do you think we won't get the 7 for awhile?
@@shahrulazry8196 we are getting it late 2023
I love my Mini too. I own an iPad Pro and a less powerful full-sized iPad, but I find myself using my Mini most of the time. It does everything I need a tablet to do, and it's easier to carry around.
For personal use iPad mini has always been my favourite device. I had the very first one when it came out. I switched to iPad Pro as an artist for my work flow
I actually just bought one as a sidekick to my 13 pro max and I love it. I’m used to carrying moleskin to doodle or journal so this with the pencil is a great replacement and then some. Great video, glad you made it. 🙏🏾
I love the mini. I was hoping they would update it in March, but I think I will be getting one for travelling. This is a great size and so easy to travel with .
Get it... With a small bag for it. It will keep you with light carrying weight and fits perfectly in a crammped plane seat or bus seat. iPad mini and a Nintendo 3ds are a must for me when traveling
The Mini is just fine the way it is, but it's not worth $499. I waited for a BB sale @ $399, and it's a fine device at that price. Excellent review as always, Greg!
I bought a iPad mini 6 and find that I use it all the time. This by far is so much easier to carry around than any of the larger sized iPads. I love the speed of the A15 processor. I use this to run my drones and works perfect for that. Even in the sun the screen works great for that. Even though the 500 nits on the screen. I also have the iPad Pro 12.9" 5th generation and even though it doesn't have the speed and screen it does, it does a great job.
It’s the same with me, IPad mini allowed Mr to carry it everywhere, mostly it’s for my kid to do her online homework on the go. It’s a time saver. My iPad Pro 12.9” stuck at home all the time. I just bought my mini at $499, and I don’t feel overprice about it considering what it bring
I’m looking to buy a iPad for my drone so thanks for this comment. I was wanting something that would work well in the sun and I could still see the display on sunny days. Nice 👍
The Ipad Mini is great! I use it for book reading, as a compagnion for my desktop and as an enterainment device while traveling or on the couch.
The iPad mini is essential for my son who uses a touch to speak app. I would absolutely buy this again and again for the portability and the ability for my child to speak. I hope they never discontinue this product!
Hi, Greg. The video was worth it to me. I have been a fan of the iPad mini since it first came out. I take it when I travel in lieu of a bigger device. It has been a very useful tool for me. I am ready to replace my iPad mini 4, and was so happy to hear the information you shared on this new iPad mini. Thank you so much.
Been a Android user since 2008, I bought a mini 6 first of the year as a gift to myself. This iPad became my daily driver for phone or pc all in one. Happy camper
I hear, just what, you are saying. I too only use only Android cell phones but carry my basic iPad 9th generation with me wherever, I go and it meets all of my needs (smile...smile).
Definitely want a more premium mini update again!! Can't wait as I adore my mini!!!
Greg, excellent intro and video!!! I just picked one up from Best But at $399 as it works best for me at this point in my life: I’m a “retired” teacher working as a transporter in a hospital so this works perfectly as I can read the news, books, play games and then slip it into my back pocket. Easier and more enjoyable to use at work than my iPhone 14 Pro Max, don’t want to lug around my 11” M1 iPad Pro nor my M1 MacBook Air.
I've been debating upgrading my mini 3 to the latest release for a while. I primarily use it as an ereader (I use the MacBook Pro for most things) but...one if the things I really like about the form factor is being able to use it for navigation in the airplane. For that, I think the iPad Air is just too big (I tried using my iPad 1 'in the cockpit' and it just wound up being put in the co-pilot's seat and mostly ignored).
I’ve just switched from my M1 11” iPad Pro to this iPad Mini 6 and I am loving it. The form factor makes it perfect for my profession and I would love to have a new version with face ID and 120hz screen and it will be the perfect iPad for me! Great video.
256gb?
I bought a Mini and liked it so much that I gave my wife my iPad air 3. I have been using it for email, games, social media, notes, you tube, and more. I just like the fact that it works great and I can hold it in one hand.
The mini is perfect! The small size is wonderful for reading books.
I picked up a good deal on the mini 5 during lockdown and am a bit jealous the 6 came out the next year! Nothing wrong with the 5 though, so holding on to see if they’ll release a mini 7 with promotion or Face ID, because I miss it when I put down my iPad Pro. Feels like a long shot but who knows anymore
I use my iPad mini 6 as my main computer currently whether it is for video conferencing, listening to music, watching RUclips, just browsing the web, and for other entertainment purposes. Whether at home or on the go (with cellular). That’s mainly how I use my iPad mini.
Nice! You use it as is or you have some accessories like keyboard? If so, which accessories?
I use a stand for mine to elevate it, that helps a lot. And a Bluetooth keyboard and apple pen. Sometimes a mouse. I find it quite capable for music, a bit of video editing, writing documents, and super portable.
I have the mini 6 for about a year, and I have trouble leaving it every day. The size is perfect for pretty much everything. Can't wait for external display support (second one, not duplicated) and promotion. Other than that is pretty much the best.
Like, my childhood dream of a pocket computer finally accomplished (I just need some emulators, lol)
I have the mini so i can take it everywhere, but i also have the 12.9” iPad Pro because i love that Mini LED display for photo editing and consuming content but i also use it for various other tasks that benefit from the larger display.
iPad mini 6 is my mostly used device ever. It’s with me on the road, to foreign countries, in bed, on sofa, at dentist office, sitting at car wash place……everywhere!
Good show Greg. Keep them coming!!
I have the iPad mini and I love it. I think the size is so much more convenient than other iPads, and although it is a little bit more on the expensive side, I still think it is worth it, especially if you can find it on sale. But for a true tablet experience I think it is a great choice.
I bought it for 405€? 64gb Version used ist IT good ? Please say yes
Apple claims 10 hours battery life, but, in reality, each iPad has a different battery life. This deserves to be detailed in the videos.
For travel, I only use the mini (5 and 6). Larger ones get left on the desk. Love the mini form factor.
The ipad mini is the perfect side companion to a MacBook Pro. Gives you a touch screen when you need it, super portable, great for travel when you need a screen but don’t want to put out a full on laptop. My only issue is the price, for something I would mostly use as an e-reader/web browser over $500 is too much money, if I could pick one up used for $300 I think it would be a great value.
I love my mini. If I want a laptop experience, I can use my Air. Other iPads are too heavy for me; I think using them exacerbated my carpel tunnel issues. This is MY size for sure and I have owned every version! Paired with my 14Pro, my M2 Air, and my Mac Studio, I am in good shape. I hope we keep getting mini updates. Thanks for the video, Greg.
Great video!
As a Mini fan, I totally agree with everything you mentioned.
im buying this in like 2 weeks and ur video popped up on homepage somehow. And thanks. its really helpfull
Glad I could help!
I have a MINI 5 and it does so much! (GPS, notes, 'second screen', bluetooth to remote speaker etc.) I would, and may still, welcome the 6, but Im waiting to see the 7 (or Mini Pro?)'s updates. Newer chip, better camera(s), landscape mode FaceTime camera etc. Tough wait... Bob
I would kill for an iPad mini with smaller bezels 120hz and an M1. Hopefully better battery life as well. I love the mini hope they keep it around.
I pick3d up the iPad Mini 6 not long after turning my iPad Pro 11inch into my main form of computing. This form factor is perfect for things like my digital planner among other things. Definitely worth it for me.
I own on the iPad mini 6, and for me its the perfect iPad ever. I use it even more than my iPhone pro max for browsing , watching media content ,gaming , and reading especially when I am on my couch, or on my bed about to sleep. I also have no problem bringing it with me everywhere because it's very light and small , but still very fast and powerful , and the battery is so great on this device. screen is very sharp too and colorful though i wish theres an oled version. I don't think I'm gonna upgrade to a newer iPad mini anytime soon unless Apple releases an iPad mini with an OLED display with 120 Hz promotion which i dont think is happening soon yet.
long story short, still a great buy in 2023 i think!
Loving the colours of the video and I feel like your style now is more natural and welcoming. Keep it up ❤
I love Android tablets but there just isn't enough premium small Android tablets in the U.S. market so I ended up with the Mini 6, it's so snappy for light web browsing,reddit,youtube,comics/manga/kindle,etc. The way the Apple pencil 2nd gen attaches to the side is super convenient. There's a bunch of 3rd party bluetooth keyboard cases on Amazon, but just having a separate compact keyboard like the Logitech K380 or Apple Magic Keyboard for Mac work better in my usage.
The mini has been my go to recently for podcast/ music listening and content consumption than my Air 4. The size is the key feature than anyone willing to purchase it to consider. 👍
I would like to see a base small tablet and a 'pro' type. One of my kids started with an old mini, and I did like the size for small hands. They need to get back to the old idea of having three levels of all their products at each size. Basically we could use a Mini SE, Mini Air, and Mini Pro. Let the lower levels keep the iPhone chip and lesser display.
I love the idea of the iPad mini.. and I would totally buy one.. but won't until it includes Apple Silicon.
Wow! Thank for the information, I was definitely trying to connect wireless keyboard. Second thinking purchasing the mini. Thanks again for the help! ❤
Loved the way you presented your thoughts about it 👏🏻👏🏻
I picked up the iPad mini for $299 after $100 credit. I have the pro but it’s too big to carry around. I use the pro while it’s on a stable surface and I’m not moving. I use the mini when I want to take it everywhere like while doing dishes or walking between rooms.
I’m shocked the mini is so much easier and fun to use. It’s also the perfect size to take notes on the go without stressing your arms
I have a 10.5” iPad Pro, a 11” M1 iPad Pro and the mini 6. The mini is great for travel and media consumption, ebook reading, lite tasks etc. Much beyond that and you notice the limitations of a small device.
Reading this I don’t feel so guilty now. I have the M1 Pro 11 and think it’s brilliant. I was looking at a Lenovo duet Chromebook but ended up ordering a mini instead. Having two does feel self indulgent but I’m a constant user so I guess I should just enjoy. Cheers from London
Man…this is the best explanation of this device. Bravo my dude, keep up the great work!
I also have an iPad Mini 6 and just love it. It will always be in my bag and used as a notepad, calendar, email reader and RUclips machine. I truly recommend getting the pencil and nebo.
got cellular mini right from the start, it is a perfect reading, gaming, sometimes even remote working device, it fits almost in every pocket, but gives you full tablet experience if compared with pro max/plus iphones.
but yes, both with 12/13 mini, ipad mini is strictly niche device and won’t fit everybody
I've only owned iPad minis. Makes me happy when I pick it up. I've never been interested in a larger iPad.
I have a iPhone 13 regular and the M1 MacBook Air - now, all I need is the mini!! 🙂
Great video. I love my Mini. It’s the perfect tablet. Most buyers understood better than Apple where it fit into their lives. I had the iPhone and the Air and still purchased my first Mini as the content consumption king. Loved using it in the car and lounging around in bed. I had the 2 and now this one and I’m not looking to upgrade soon.
Hey Greg. Fellow Greg here. I bought one of the mini 6’s today before seeing this. Had the same question in my mind as to the point of this device. I figure it will fit somewhere between when i want to use a device bigger than my phone, and when i don’t want to drop my iPad Air on my face. Remains to be seen how much I’ll use it. Definitely a lot lighter and more portable and grippy though, so i like that.
Spot-on. I agree with your point about the mini being true to the original iPad concept. The bigger and heavier iPads and Pros almost need to be laptop replacements because it doesn’t really make sense to carry a laptop and a big iPad. But the mini is so light and small that you can easily justify carrying it along with the Macbook. Like you, I prefer the Macbook OS and this is a conclusion I’ve come to after years of trying to make an iPad-only photography workflow work!
Absolutely love my mini. I will upgrade when it’s offered
I love my mini 6 I use it for note taking reading and media consumption and yeah the screen size is small but personally I dont really have any issues with it its a great device for the price
I love my ipad mini 6 too , good performance and comfortable display size . If the next upgrade could brings ProMotion display to mini that could be great 👍
I bring my iPad mini everywhere. It’s a suitable laptop replacement in a pinch. I recently registered for classes at college on it because I forgot my MacBook and didn’t realize.
I've been using an iPad Mini 2 for years and been annoyed on how slow it was and that it's basically OS locked and can't even install some apps because of the OS restriction. I ended up getting the Mini 6 and it has been a wonderful device for reading and media consumption which is my main use case for it. I initially wanted an Android tablet, but there's simply no device that can compete with Mini series because most OEMs have abandoned this market. And even if there are small form factor Android tablets, they so underpowered add also that software support is not guaranteed in the coming years. The Mini simply has this small tablet market locked and no competition. I also don't want the bigger iPads since I find them too big and heavy especially when reading. Also, I don't like how modern tablets are being designed and marketed to be laptop replacements which imo, I'll just get a laptop for productivity. The Mini is simply fantastic for what it does and imo sets it apart from others because of it's small size and power in a compact form.
I’ve got an iPad 10th Gen base model (it’s a pretty good device for 80% of the potential market) and an iPad Mini 6 (256GB / WiFi + Cellular) and my wife has an iPad Mini 5 and an iPad Pro. Besides those, I still use my MacBook Air M1 base model and my wife has an M1 Mac Mini (maxed out). As a tech, I also have an assortment of Chromebooks, Windows machines & Android devices for training & testing. The iPad Mini 6 is - without reservation - my favorite device and is still the first device I reach for every day, anywhere, when I want something larger than an iPhone display. Paired with the Pencil, there’s precious little I would want to do that I can’t do with it. I don’t see myself upgrading from it anytime soon, unless there’s significant change to the processor or display in the next version.
I just wish it was 120hz because I like to game on my iPad. But it is very good for some casual things like RUclips, browsing and Netflix
I would buy one this week and it pairs well with my iphone 13 mini too hehehe.. thank you for a good review of the mini 6. Even more reason to buy one soon.
I love ipad mini. I love this for notes at work when I go to 3 different buildings. Watch TV show at lunch. Work perfect for me. Perfect size to carry fits my lunch bag. Makes my job as supervisor more organized. I use one note anything I add to one notes automatically goes to my PC in my office. Perfect fit in my life. Perfect for traveling.
The iPad Mini 6 is the device I hoped for when the iPad was first announced many lifetimes back. 😜 Form factor and capability with the Pencil make it my portable brain. My infinite sketch pad. My searchable notebook. Pairing the right apps with it is the key.
I traded in a gen 9 iPad in January for the mini 6 been a work horse 🐎. Paid for the extra storage. Have the iPad Pro 12.9 use them both at times .
I bought my iPadMini 5th generation with cell phone capacity as a replacement for the Kindle back in 2020….mainly to use as a reader for books because it can open all types of files that the Nook & Kindle cannot….it’s a gem! Love it!….still have a MAC desktop from 2009
My 2012 iPad mini's battery finally died, and I was keen to replace it with the latest model, because I found it perfect for reading books, magazines, journals and newspapers; listening to music, audiobooks and podcasts, etc. But the lack of a 3.5mm headphone socket on the latest model was a dealbreaker. Bluetooth is not capable of audiophile-quality audio, and I find it tedious to have to have rechargable speakers, headphones or earbuds, which have a limited life compared to wired devices which provide superior sound quality. So I ended up buying a 9th gen iPad, which still has a 3.5 mm socket. I would have much preferred the mini form factor, but it was not to be.
Just bought my iPad mini 6 last week with 256gb, cellular an Apple Pencil, case & paperlike screen protector for $400 on FB marketplace. someone was selling it for $500 and they accepted the offer I made them on the first day they posted the item for $400. Been an owner of the 12.9inch iPad Pro 4th gen since it dropped, and this mini bad boy is no slacker!! It’s fast as hell and I’m running the latest iOS 17 beta 3. They are definitely sending the latest updates to this iPad. it’s super super fast. Can’t see myself without either tablets for another 4-10 years.
Im new to iPad would, I found this device to be perfect for my couch media consumption and education. It’s smaller than a normal iPad but that’s the point. This is the bigger phone you always wanted and not as heavy as any other normal tablet. It doesn’t do all better, but comes in very handy when you want something practical with bigger screen than a phone, yet still light enough. I would say this is the practical iPad.
I just bought a new mini at the weekend and I love it. I had my previous one for around five years used it daily.
my exact thoughts and I’m happy that other people see this in the same way as well
Thank you, I have been thinking about getting one, I will make it my remote at home and will primary use it when home and not my iPhone.
Hi! I'm using iPad mini 6. I'd say it's the best C/P all scenario machine I ever have. I always place it and a ultra light keyboard in my trail running backpack so that I can work intermittently during a 3-5 km run.
Great video. Thanks 😊
I have the mini 6. I really do like it but I got it knowing I prefer the 12.9 pro for most things. I got the mini primarily so I can navigate without calls blocking my map… getting the mini was just a cheaper alternative to buying a stereo with Apple car play and paying for installation.. and I wasn’t fond of the idea of my car being cut in places either. My 12.9 iPad was too large and distracting but the mini is the perfect size. Now I no longer work in delivery so I don’t need it for navigation as often.. but I still use it for grocery lists and if I go to a restaurant.. but other than that it’s my 12.9 that’s with me mostly.
Good info. I do have a great keyboard case that is awesome... I hv the older version mini... wondering if I should upgrade so I can use the pencil... vs buying new iPad ... you helped me answer the question ty👍
I finally laughed when you said.....'like me" with that sad sound track for the fourth time..... :D
Still rocking my mini 5. It does everything I need. No need to upgrade but happy the mini 6 exist.
I love m’y mini I brought it in March due to retail therapy but it unlike most purchases, I do not regret it 💕
My Mini goes with me whenever I get in my car, I have a 10.5 that hasn’t left the house since 2019 and a 12.9 that’s never gone anywhere with me. Because it’s so easy to take with me the Mini 6 is my favorite device, I use it a lot at home even though I have the fore mentioned devices available plus a MacBook
Just got mines last week, still have my 10.2 in iPad but wanted something more manageable for my car. (No CarPlay on my Mazda model 😒) so far I’m loving it. Got the cellular model to use the gps on the go and it’s much better than having to use my phone. It also runs Xbox cloud gaming a lot better than my bigger iPad which is awesome.
Thankyou for sharing information 🙏🙏🙏
I bought the iPad mini 6th in 2023, meanwhile I’m using my M1 iPad pro 12.9 for work, really love the mini size especially while traveling. Some time is just tired to carry the 12.9 ipad pro. LOL
I have the iPad mini 6. love it, perfect size.
Have one, honestly going to return it. Honeymoon phase lasted a few days. The novelty is cool, but I just can’t justify spending $700 to have a larger screen device to consume content or play apps.
This would be something I can really carry around everywhere and not something like the pro. Even at work when it’s slow, this is much more discrete than the other iPads. It’s really a digital sketchbook that can perform just as well as my phone and still have other functions I could utilize in a laptop all compacted.
iPad mini is the best thing ever. I love that it fits in a small purse/bag and is so portable.
I love the Minis. Just got my 3rd on Prime Day with the sale for $379. They're easily the most portable, great for traveling and lounging around the house. Have a 12.9" Pro M1 and the screen is great, but it's soo heavy!
I got an iPad Mini with a 5G connection, and I take it everywhere. It ended up replacing my e-ink writing tablet and my Amazon Fire tablet. I love the smaller size so that it can just get thrown into my bag or large pocket. The apple pencil is a great accessory as well. I love that you can double tap the side to switch between the pen and eraser.
Is Apple Mini is eye friendly ( blue light) ? For long reading. Also can we take business note on it ?
Is Apple Mini is eye friendly ( blue light) ? For long reading. Also can we take business note on it ?
I think it is as eye friendly as an lcd panel can be. It has a night shift mode to reduce the blue light.
Great perspective as to WHAT market this product is aimed at.
Agree its best for people that want a more book like size form factor. For most people coming off a 6+ inch phone your probably going to want at least 10-11 inch ipad to make it worth your while.
they were made to test the market on size & yes larger screen devices are clearly more popular & trendy BUT the ipad mini size is a direct competitor for READER TABLETS like the Amazon kindles etc. so imo mac would be wise to keep putting out an updated version every 3 yrs
my ipad mini is my fave device
iPad mini has its own niche, especially for work.
I want to start using my iPad mini 2021 version as a laptop don’t know if it is is the best idea or do i get a different iPad?
If they could just make it possible to make calls from the iPad mini, they would have the perfect product .Even if you get one with cellular, you can't use it as a phone, or to text, Right, Greg?
I want to thank you for these videos, Greg. I just got a naw MacBook M1 last week, because you explained that many months after the M2 came out, the M1 is still great for what I need and will stay up to date for several years. So I took advantage of Costco's sale ( good till April 21) and picked up this M1 beauty for only $799!
The upgrade from my 2015 12" is amazing! and since I only use it to read, surf, buy on line, email, watch RUclips, use my book apps and simple stuff like that, I think the Book apps I use will work for many years. You saved me hundreds of dollars, And I really appreciate it (old one here.)
I make calls from mine all the time. There is a setting in Facetime to enable calling from the Mini. (I do have the cellular Mini though)
Google Voice works well
I'm honestly thinking of getting this and just slowly waiting for it to get cheaper lol i own a 13mini so this will be great for me to travel with to watch stuff on as watching movies and such on the phone can be a bit straining on the eyes. I won't be using it for anything beside that and as a replacement for my kindle so I think this will be perf for me. I never got one before cuz of the home button but now that they got rid of that for this version I think its time.
I loved my Mini 4, but it just got too slow for most things despite following all the recommendations to speed it up. I recently traded it in for the 6 and I love it! I carry it all the time and use it for so many things.
