Absolute perfection, using the sugarworks Fondant smoother soooo much easier than the thin metal rulers but they have their place as well...thanks so much for your time and expertise.!
Perfect! I swear by cutting with disposable surgical scalpels. They have a handle that might be more comfortable to hold. You can get them super cheap on Amazon.
Thank you for this amazing tutorial! What is the name of the clear measuring tool you used to help guide the blade? Everything about this tutorial is awesome since I’m creating a “dice” cake soon. Thank you again 🥰
It does sweat if it is soft especially. I treat the fondant with tylose powder. And freeze for few minutes. By the time it starts to sweat, it will be on the cake already 😃
Dark chocolate chips and heavy whipping cream 2:1 ratio. Heat the cream in a saucepan. Pour over chocolate chips. Let it sit for 2-5 minutes. Stir it up
Try Fantasia Fondant, @t you won't regret it. It is a very forgiving fondant with a long work time, which makes it easy to work with for beginners and pros. Fantasia Fondant is formulated with elasticity making it a high performing fondant when covering cakes or performing in silicon cake molds. The colors of Fantasia Fondant are vivid and fadeproof. This fondant will not prematurely dry, crack, tear, break and 'elephant skin" even when rolled super thin to cover cake dummies. Offers a less sweet taste that resembled a homemade marshmallow fondant.
Thank you for this tutorial, using your fondant smoothers to help glide the blade without nicking the other panel is genius!
TreatsbyTisha Joiner thank you!
This is BEST video I've seen on covering a square cake with fondant. You've done an amazing job.
Thank you
Outstanding, I got a square wedding cake for the 10th of March
So ready to cover it now

Thank you for this amazing tutorial! What is the name of the clear measuring tool you used to help guide the blade? Everything about this tutorial is awesome since I’m creating a “dice” cake soon. Thank you again 🥰
It’s a type of fondant smoother.
Thank u for a very nice tutorial. May I know how to seal the top edges to make it smooth and hide the connecting edge? Do u have any idea? Thank u
mary german I seal it with some water. It’s barely noticeable
Thank you for this tutorial, I like how u use the smoother as a guide.
Where can I buy the thin piece of plastic you are using.
Does the fondant not 'sweat' as it comes back up to room temp. absolutely amazed by your edges!!
June Murray thank you ☺️
Not really. If it will sweat it’ll be a little bit and will dry up
@@NataliesCakes wanted to ask d same question actually, thanks for ur explanation and d video
A very good tutorial. i intent using this method on my next cake, but what frosting do you have beneath, and why do you have to use water?
fleecy bakery I used chocolate ganache. A little water helps the fondant stick a bit better. :)
Can l use American buttercream underneath before covering with fondant
Please answer me: I thought fondant sweats if you freeze it? You put the panels in the freezer to harden but will it sweat?
It does sweat if it is soft especially. I treat the fondant with tylose powder. And freeze for few minutes. By the time it starts to sweat, it will be on the cake already 😃
Hi, pls how do you treat your fondant with tylose powder
What is the name of the tool you use as guide to cut the excess fondant
Is that a smoother or a parchment paper you are using in guiding the razor blade?
Njideka chinasa it’s a smoother. Very thin smoother.
Thanks you so much for sharing such a great video! It was super helpful 😊 wonderful channel too
As sweet as it gets thank you!
Hi! Thanks for sharing this tutorial, I have the question. Can you use de fondant you cut after freeze it? Do you kneed it and become stretch again?
Pinky's Cakes yes. After it comes to room temp it’s good to use again
@@NataliesCakes pls how do u freeze ur fondant? Here in Nigeria when u freezes ur fondant the sweat
@@nwachukwujustina5295 yes it will sweat for a short time. Then when it comes back to room temp it’ll be fine. It sweats more if it’s humid atmosphere
Hai,i from malaysia..So nice..i like🥰

Saludos desde Argentina. Mi pregunta es si lo refrigeras al fondant para q quede firme asi? Espero me entiendas.
Mabel Cardozo sorry. I don’t understand :(
Alguien hizo la misma pregunta. Según entendí refrigera los rectángulos. Tal vez hasta que se pongan duros y los pega a la torta. No se si te ayudé🙂
I enjoyed watching your video. Very nice.
Perfection 😍 Can you please tell me what you brushed on the ganache before applying the fondant panels?
Just a little bit of plain water
@@NataliesCakes thank you 😍
Hi can you tell me where you purchased the smoother you used as a guide whilst cutting the fondant.
Maria Saddique these are flexi smoothers by Berina. She’s based in the U. K. But ships everywhere from what I know.
Thank you for sharing. Especially for the tips about the fondant smoother and freezing the panels.
BTW, what fondant smoothers did you use?
This is much better for me. thanks for sharing.
Please i want just know should we freeze the cake before cover it
Leo Eyes I always refrigerate my cakes. Not freeze
@@NataliesCakes does it hurt if i freeze them we live in very hot continent
Leo Eyes I wouldn’t recommend as it would cause a lot more condensation. Your fondant will ‘sweat’ and it’ll be more difficult to smooth it out.
If you freeze the fondant, wouldn't there be more chance of it having condensation? Or the freezing method only applies to air-conditioned room?
henrymaux33 you only freeze it for a few minutes.
Nicely done. Very informative. Thanks.
Thank you😀 I cant wait to try it💓💓
Thank you for the tutorial. Pls what did you use to stick your fondant to the cake?
Izengbuwa Sonia Olulode water :)
Good, what is name of the thing you used to hold the cake when cutting the excess ma

The next time anyone complains about the price of handmade cakes I'm going to show them this 🙃
That is why my daughter would not ask for a custom cake for her birthday because she knows how much work goes into making it…. 😂
Beautiful!
Is the cake ganached or buttercreamed first?
Ganached
Ganached
Please how do you make your fondant? Thanks
Juliana Apedo hi! I buy my fondant. I use Satin Ice
@@NataliesCakes Thanks

Why don't you spend a couple of dollars and actually buy a cake decorating scalpel. It will have a handle and will be a damn site safer!!
While freezing the fondant did u add tylose or cmc? One more question is there after put the freezed panels on the cake will it get saggy
You are too much
