Really? During the first hour of his 3rd grade level explanation of leverage, I thought hey, this is a bit long....but a few hours later I decided that I would rather die than listen to this guy - so I offed myself, on the third day I was resurrected, came back here and he was still explaining how amazing it is that objects can feel heavier based upon leverage.
His motocycle accident was brutal: Bone's sticking out of his leg, knee destroyed, surgeries. To go through all that then come back in and compete for 10+ years afterwards was insane. The same thing had happened to Steve Carl of WSOF and TUF fame. He had a major accident which required leg surgery, then started his mma career.
Same for Cristiano Ronaldo, he once fell of his bicycle when going to the store and broke his fingernail from locking his bike. He needed 3 weeks of therapy but right after, he went straight back to diving in football again! What a champ!

I (let's be honest - We, meaning a shitload of people at that grave, grave moment) were left in awe at what we had just actually witnessed go down, live. That was a profound watershed moment for me in MMA.
I am honestly relieved to see Frank still being so well spoken. Dude may have been been considerate in victory but many of his opponents were not towards him.
I had a severely fractured dislocated elbow with little hope of a full recovery. Depression and hopelessness followed. The story Frank's motorcycle accident, recovery and his mental attitude gave me the inspiration to stand up and work towards a full recovery.

From there onto a strengthning and stabilization programme. It took two full years before regained range of motion and do my first push-ups and pull-ups.
Frank was the WEC commentator when I first started watching this amazing sport. He was incredible, can't believe the UFC hasn't tapped him for one of the commentator gigs. Thanks Frank, you're def one of my "Wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley" guys.

Rotational pressure on the humerus, I would imagine doesn’t feel like much. That being said, as a BJJ master, he should know when a submission is sunk.

I don’t know, if yall remember the Sylvia fight herb screamed quite a few stops and even shouted “THE FIGHT IS OVER STOP” before mir let off. Loud as hell in there though and adrenaline is a crazy thing so who can really ever know. Not to take away from Sylvia’s amazing career.

Nog said he was going to tap out Mir in the pre fight hype. Nog basically knocked Mir out but he wanted to submit him to prove a point. So he took it to the ground and let Mir recover. He got what he earned.
He was ground and pounding and the ref kept screaming over stop hitting the back of the head. Which he wasn’t. Crazy almost unbelievable endings to both of those fights. I always rooted against mir which I don’t really know why as all of his fights are exciting and has a couple of my favorite sub wins in mma

Frank Mir is my all time fav MMA submission artists. The way we train; it gets into our head to give the guy time to tap. Unfortunately, some MMA opponents take advantage of the small space to escape. Frank, without being malicious, always put the sub on with full intent to finish.... or let go if there was a tap.
Have to agree with Frank about a torn rotator cuff. I just injured mine and the damn thing won't heal. It's been three months now and the pain still keeps me up at night.
It took me an entire year to heal Mine. But I didn’t stop bjj or my construction job. Approximately 2000$ I’m physiotherapy sessions too. It’s a really painful and tough injury to get over. Imo when you feel you’re about 75-80% you should carefully start body weight strength training again - especially pull-ups. That’s what really helped me get back
@@JK-uo3pd Besides the pain, I keep having muscle spasms. It'll just light up for a few seconds and go crazy, then stop as suddenly as it came on. The spasms don't hurt, but if you're sleeping it's like someone knocking you on the shoulder waking you up. Adds to the sleep deprivation.

Reduce as much inflammatory foods in your diet as possible (always important really) Stick with the doctors program and you should come out alright. I didn’t sleep a full night for 7 months. I would wake up at 3am after the inflammation set in and that would be it. I tried 10mg of melatonin before bed and that did help to keep me in a deeper sleep. IMS needlework and shock therapy. I did everything I could to avoid surgery due to the 6 month down time and no Garunteed 100% recovery. Best of luck. It can be beaten.

It's just remarkable how long this injury has lasted. Surgery is the last option for me. I recon I'll do the whole year and see where it goes.

Frank trains with a pro strongman/powerlifter in Nick Best these days. Age or not, that combination of strength and technique together is absolutely terrifying if you are in the receiving end.
I was at the fight when mir broke Tim’s arm. I was lucky enough to go to quite a few fights back in those days of ufc and that was one of the most memorable moments for me.
His kimura finish has got too be my top favourite submission in ufc,, the way frank mir is jus rolling with it, big nog trying everything he could to roll and get out, but frank was right there with it the whole time

His kimura finish has got too be my top favourite submission in ufc,, the way frank mir is jus rolling with it, big nog trying everything he could to roll and get out, but frank was right there with it the whole time
And my 2nd favourite sub,, is Joe lauzon’s triangle choke on jamie varner,,, he sweeps varner and gets the choke
