Frank did what he needed to do for our entertainment and has now got CTE for his troubles. Maybe you have a little brother who runs like a little girl. How your simile fits into the Frank Mir story, I have no idea at all.
Pro wrestling is infinitely tougher than UFC fighting At least until the last few years, you have to work 25-27 days out of 30. So you have to travel 25-27 days out of 30. You may have to work with 3-4 different guys a week, so you have to have real people skills. You have to get yourself over with the crowd, with the boys in the locker room, with the writers, with Vince and the promoters. You have to live in hotel rooms. You walk around in pain all the time, from all the bumps, so you may be on one drug or another. If you are gonna get over with the crowd, you have to write promos, and build a character. You have to stay healthy. And find a way to maintain a relationship at home, or build a relationship traveling the country. And many make very little money their first few years, until they can catch on with a major promotion. It's like stand-up comedy, on you have use your body to get ahead. It's one of the toughest jobs on Earth, IMO.
Big fan of Frank, seems super cool too, but you can absolutely tell the cte or other cognitive damage has begun by his speech patterns and forgetfulness. It’s a brutal sport
vs Wes Sims the ending combo is quite memorable. Memory might be faulty but I think I remember Ken Shamrock coming to a UFC in a wheelchair and saying the same thing.
Wasn’t a big fan of missing MIR until after his accident when I saw his work and how he made a comeback I wish he had torn off Brock Lesnar’s leg good luck going forward
The title of the video is kind of deceptive, I was expecting Mir to rip him apart. But he respects the biz. Even though they rarely watch, my friends who train BJJ respects the biz.
Still think without crippling diverticulitis and spending many more years in MMA moving up the ranks slower and maturing.. Lesnar would have been the most dominant heavyweight of all time. The guy's athleticism for his size is freakish levels.
Big guys constantly have to hear the little guys who can perform a half decent knee bar say that they do less or don't have the same ethic. Size can either be a advantage or a disadvantage depending on the situations or circumstance that favor either fighter more than the other in real time. The only real factors in any outcome regarding size is mental and physical preparation, technique, discipline and willpower. You may be a oak but you can still get chopped down by an experienced lumberjack half your size.
When a guy like Mir with so many injuries doesnt want to get involved with WWE because he thinks he will be more injured then that pretty much says it all about the difficulty of the game
Frank Mir is a legend, one of the best heavyweights imo, that's with the motorcycle accident/injury, if that hadn't happened I think he would have reigned at the top for a good while and probably would have made a few defences of the belt
Holy Shit Austin Aries. I completely forgot about that dude. What ever happened to him?? I don’t think I’ve seen him at any of the American wrestling promotions
So I started wrestling when I was 18 and 2006 I'm 34 now I help out at a few schools although that was more a few years ago than now, as far as Brock doing the minimum, there have definitely been cases where he has put the veto on other people's ideas. But Brock is a fucking workhorse in the ring. People will fault him and say he no cells and only does this or that but the thing is, once he went to UFC the believability of him having a normal match like he used to, just wasn't there. Especially with the guys being so much smaller overall these days than they were in the past. But even with the smaller guys, Brock will sell his fucking ass off for people. He just doesn't hand it to them on a silver platter. He makes them work for it. And I know people who have never wrestled before don't understand what I mean when i say work for it because isn't it a planned match? Well yes and no. Not every single move is choreographed. I mean it really depends on who you're in the ring with but generally only about 20 to 30% is planned if the guys are really good. Everything else is just off the dome as they go based on crowd reaction and time. It is literally and on the fly stunt show with a few spots that are planned out in the match. And when I say that he makes people work for something, if someone wants to start fighting back on him, he's not just going to start making them look good. He's going to hit them back and then expect something that would be a realistic reason to make him vulnerable to actual offense from the other person. There are guys that will beat the fuck out of you in the ring. I mean I've been in fist fights that were nowhere near as bad as some of the matches I've been in. I mean people see stomps and shit like that and I get it. I fucking hate stomps. I hate stomping the mat I don't do it really at all. But there are certain moves where you will get hit as hard as someone can physically hit you. Specifically clubs to the back and European uppercuts and chops. Punches aren't going to be full force to your face and I totally understand people who like UFC not respecting the wrestling business but I've played football I've done a little martial arts a little boxing but nothing more than just for fun. I've caught behind the plate in baseball for 12 years, nothing is as hard as pro wrestling. Nothing is as physical nothing hurt me as much. And Brock is a fucking machine. He's just smart these days
I believe it was ESPN, but there were episodes that showed UFC fighters training for their matches. Anybody who watched what Brock did daily would never say he did the bare minimum.
Good fellow. I wonder if his spinal cord problem is a lingering result of the bad motorcycle he had in 2004? I know it was mainly his legs but it’s possible.

Probably still mad Brock beat his ass in the second fight he even did in the first fight but frank is just too good at submissions and in the minute and 30 seconds the fight went on he dominated the first minute and 20 seconds but ultimately the more experienced frank pulled one out
👀👀👀 redacted
If the ref didn't stand them up Mir would have lost.
The Sub of Big Nog was absolutely incredible!!
Go Mir!
Frank Mir couldn't believe Brocks Speed for his size and his agility and endurance, he was shook. Even Mir put size on because he thought it would help him out but then he gased out alot.
Them's fightin' words Frank
This man fought Fedor and Brock Leasnar. 2 guys who were considered the top in their time. I'd love to know his take on who woulda won between Prime Fedor VS Prime Brock.....
Even to someone Frank has a clear distasteful history with able to give level headed answers. And even be complimentary about brock. True professional.
Yeah considering how bad this feud was at the time. Mir was pretty level headed about him, even somewhat complimentary. I think at the time Mir said he hoped to be the first person to kill someone in ring. and at end brock laughed and yelled at a bloody Mir when he was trying to shake hands. Id like to think if these guys sat down and had a beer together, theyd be friends. But its probhably more likely they'd fight again.
@@thenewyearsgrinch Yeah he said some outlandish stuff he had to walk back.
Does the bare minimum but yet he won the UFC heavyweight title in a few fights? Shut up Frank
Does anyone actually watch the videos these days? He was talking about what he'd heard people say about Brock's wrestling career.
Frank has always been a big headed guy I'm actually glad Brock pummeled him
Had it handed to him, he didn’t even beat anyone worth a shit, he got dominated than ram like a little girl.
@@Xnovality What is it with internet MMA fans that they think they can refer to fighters as though they're bullying their little brothers? Frank did what he needed to do for our entertainment and has now got CTE for his troubles. Maybe you have a little brother who runs like a little girl. How your simile fits into the Frank Mir story, I have no idea at all.
@@Xnovality do you mean Brock ?
Much respect to frank mir during this interview. 👏
Seeing frank mir after many many years
Pro wrestling is infinitely tougher than UFC fighting
At least until the last few years, you have to work 25-27 days out of 30.
Lesnar vs Mir III didn’t happen because Carwin beat Mir nearly to death.
Big fan of Frank, seems super cool too, but you can absolutely tell the cte or other cognitive damage has begun by his speech patterns and forgetfulness. It’s a brutal sport
Goddamn my man Mir is living strong with the TRT
vs Wes Sims the ending combo is quite memorable.
Memory might be faulty but I think I remember Ken Shamrock coming to a UFC in a wheelchair and saying the same thing.
Mir is a great fighter. The 250lb 150 fighter. Best jujitsu guy in the prior ufc.
Mir would be great on the mic in WWE, he doesn't need to wrestle, just a submission hold here and there.
Has his voice always had the rattle? Seems to be getting common after fight careers.Frye & Liddell also sound strained.
Frank, hope you read this, you sir are a legend, and true good human being 👍 much respect ❤️
Frank is one of my all time favourite heavyweight’s took Brock’s leg in the first fight.
Frank 💪🙏 it was nice watching you
Mir is a BJJ beast, Brock is a beast athlete, those pro wrestling guys are the tough SOBs , much respect.
not the first time someone said brock did the bare minimum for the check lol
Frank's arm looks just like Bas Ruttens.
Mir is looking very lean, quite interesting to hear Mir's take on WWE type wrestling.
I had no idea Frank was so eloquent!
Props 2 this guy 4 givin brock his respect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!°°•
If Brock Lesnar actually did the "bare minimum", then he wouldn't have been able to beat Frank Mir in their second fight.
Wasn’t a big fan of missing MIR until after his accident when I saw his work and how he made a comeback I wish he had torn off Brock Lesnar’s leg good luck going forward
Frank is a great fighter but an even better human
If Brock added the drive of a g.o.a.t. to his natural gifts, he could have been one of the greatest
How did that last fight with Brock go frank?
I miss those price days so much, that’s when MMA was like 80s movies, dramatic, technical, gruesome, powerful
"yeah".... let's just end the video suddenly... BRO!!!! Lmao!!!
Mir off the juice looks so different
The title of the video is kind of deceptive, I was expecting Mir to rip him apart. But he respects the biz. Even though they rarely watch, my friends who train BJJ respects the biz.
Quite a different tune hes singing now compared to when he was active in MMA, and trashing wrestling
We could have had Lesnar vs. Mir 3 at UFC 200, but Mir was suspended
This is the most likeable version of Frank I've ever seen.
When a guy like Mir with so many injuries doesnt want to get involved with WWE because he thinks he will be more injured then that pretty much says it all about the difficulty of the game
It was explained to me that pro wrestling isn't fake. The outcome is, but they are fucking each other up.
This is the Frank Mir I like, the humble Frank Mir
Frank Mir is a legend, one of the best heavyweights imo, that's with the motorcycle accident/injury, if that hadn't happened I think he would have reigned at the top for a good while and probably would have made a few defences of the belt
Damnnn!! This is Frank Mir, he looks like 70 years old
Holy Shit Austin Aries. I completely forgot about that dude. What ever happened to him?? I don’t think I’ve seen him at any of the American wrestling promotions
I literally heard about UFC because of Brock Lesnar
Mir is my favorite fighter ever.
Alot of respect to Frank he is very professional
4:22 to 4:37 When the homies wonder where you've been when you ain't been out with them in weeks.
Frank seems like a cool dude....one of my favorites
Frank Mir should have the rubber match in WWE
They will pay him heavily...
Especially if its in Saudi Arabia...
I always did like Frank Mir
I believe it was ESPN, but there were episodes that showed UFC fighters training for their matches. Anybody who watched what Brock did daily would never say he did the bare minimum.
Good fellow. I wonder if his spinal cord problem is a lingering result of the bad motorcycle he had in 2004? I know it was mainly his legs but it’s possible.
