Andre had some amazing matches in Japan against Stan Hansen. I remember in one of their matches Andre sold Stan's lariat so well. Stan ran through and hit the lariat he went through the middle ropes straight to the floor. The crowd went mad for that as Andre being so huge and larger than life never sold like that. The lariat was so massively over already but for Stan to send The Giant flying out of the ring took it to another level.
I've seen lots of great clips of matches that are new to me. The matches that sticks out to me the most from childhood our big john studd and with Jake the snake!
Watching Bret choke up at the end when he found out that it was Andre who wanted to wrestle him was touching. You can tell that Bret is deeply honored.
Bret's finisher could almost be called the Straight Shooter instead, because that's what he is. He talks so open & honest. He can be quite blunt but it's that matter-of-factly way he speaks which I think a lot of people respect. He turns off a lot of people because they just say he's whiny or whatever but he wears his heart on his sleeve, & I can believe what he says. He probably has the most respect for this business, and anyone who is anyone in wrestling respects the hell out of Bret, & I think that speaks volumes to the man he is.
I met and had drinks with Brett Hart at my friends club in Montreal around 1994 or 1996 cant remember exact year. Kevin Nash was there also but he was known as Diesel at the time. Brett spent at least an hour straight signing autographs. I asked him aren't you tired of signing autographs. His response was " I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for them".
my mom was a housekeeper for 25 years in a small city, they always gave her the rooms with celebs, because unless they were in a chick flick she would have no idea who they were. back when i was 14 my mom said she might have met some wrestlers, she wasnt sure. by her description she met diesel and and undertaker, i was fucking out of my mind "oh, they were nice young men, so big though!" yes mom, your 5'4 everyone is big
This is the best I have ever seen Brett look. It's nice to see the man behind the ego, and it's a LOT easier to show him the proper respect in this context. Also, the absolute awe shown to Andre by so many legends tells you everything you need to know. Hogan showing outright deference, in the humblest of fashion, tells you everything you need to know about how big, and powerful, the Giant really was. Jake tells you everything you need to know about how human he was. This is my favorite Brett interview, and it's nice to feel good about Brett Hart.
I’ve heard Terry, Jake, Vince, and Bret of course talk about Andre, amongst others. Everyone starts getting choked up. Everyone. Andre truly must have been a once in a generation man.
Same, every single person said Andre was the kindest man in the world. Never heard a single person speak negatively about Andre, never. Everyone, like you said, spoke positively about him and choked up when talking about him. Breaks my heart that so many took advantage of Andre's kindness and the mother of his child never allowed him to see his daughter, broke Andre's heart.
@@Cinedhiothuwhat an uninformed statement. There are multiple stories about andre being a bully to people he didn't like. Look up the story about bad news brown. He was probably like most people, good and bad parts. Stop turning people like this into a saint.

He has brain damage. People seem to forget he has a major brain injury. Giving him a hard time about being negative or having a bad attitude is just pure ignorance.
The man’s personal losses are comparable with the Von-Erics. The fact he’s not at Jeff Hardy-level addiction just to not feel all that loss is a testament to his character and resiliency.
He mentioned quitting painkillers in the early 1990s after watching Dynamite Kids body fall apart. Crazy to think that he spent the last decade of his career feeling every single injury.
Bret is definitely up there with Andre in the amount of respect and love from his peers and how willing he was to putting others over and helping others. So many wrestlers, like with Andre, credit Bret for putting them over or helping them out in dire times in their careers. Like Edge. Love bret.
If you respected the business, Andre respected you, and it was a true honor. I'm sure Andre saw the love and care Bret had (still has) for the business and knew that it would be a good match.

Haha 2:05 Same exact line Hogan used to say about Andre lol 😂 every wrestler who was just starting out and about to wrestle Andre’… “so Andre what we doing out there in the ring?” And Andre’s response every time “Don’t worry about it” lol 😂 his confidence about to draw the crowd and in the ring was unmatched.

To find out that you were on Andre’s bucket list?? What an honor! 🥰
Great to hear Brets stories! Greetings from Germany! Started seeing WWF in 1984 already....
Read Bret's book. Could listen to him talk for days. Hes the 🐐 in my eyes.
I agree 💯%

Honestly, of all the hilarious Andre the Giant stories this was one of the best. WWF as it was called was very fortunate to have them both.
Andre’s most challenging opponent was everywhere that wasn’t his farm
When I was a kid, the Giant was this big evil monster. Now I have nothing but admiration for him! (RIP Andre) ✝
This man has all the stories. Love listening to him speak.
Brett: Andre. You big as fuk. What are we doing.
Brett Hart does great interviews. He should do a podcast.
Beautiful story. Bret was truly choked up at the end.
This shows just how professional Andre really was. Great Story! 😁
The most sincere moment in wrestling at the end of Bret's interview.
Inoki and Stan Hansen both had some incredible matches with Boss... my personal favorite match of Andre's was with Big John Studd... Body Slam Match... those guys were gods growing up
Never was much into wrastlin' but Brett was always my favorite.
I don't care what anyone says. The Harts are the first family of wrestling. 👍
My aunt taught the Hart boys in school in Calgary. She said they were a wonderful family.
Bret Wears his Heart on his Sleeve, as he Tells the Stories of his in Ring Career Very Well!!
What a great story and wonderfully told.

The guy took his line of work very seriously. You have to respect it.
Bret joked about it once, but he and Andre really could have been a powerful team, even if just for a short period.

Andre definitely on my Mt. Rushmore
Bret still one of the best wrestlers
His matches were always good
He put his heart into it
Which is why he hated others that didn’t
I don’t think Bret hates anyone that isn’t an awful person.
Actually a sweet story ❤
Great story!
He got winded twice by Andre, once when he stepped on him and twice when he found out Andre asked to wrestle Bret.
Andre VS Paul Buttress was cool.
Andre the Giant beat up about four policemen and 1 women when he was arrested in Milwaukee

Weird choice of title for this video?!?

Andre was huge and french. Big red wine would be normal

well your anre the giant, you dont have to worry....how do we do with wile i survive?
I love Bret, he was a great champion and a better person.
no different than wrestling the bear under the porch he used to feed ice cream
Hart has all of the energy and charisma as a warm sandwich that has been left out on the counter too long. But plenty of baloney.
