- Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a press conference in Orlando Wednesday afternoon where he signed a bill aimed at addressing the escalating issue of squatters’ rights within the state and increasingly affecting communities nationwide.
Who the hell gave squatters rights anyway. Straight to prison cause this is break and entry

@@SH-nv6cm I know but I live in Miami and have seen cops refuse to enforce laws. I was recently attacked in front of a cop and he did nothing but made excuses
then we might have different experiences. Miami cops imo love enforcing whatever they can and find every loophole means to do so if they don't really like you. State troopers are even more enforcing@@carlcounts1

This is a great move. HOWEVER, it should include criminal prosecution for breaking and entering a structure with intent to commit a crime, criminal trespass and grand theft property, a FELONY.
So you want to feed and shelter them with tax payer money in jail. Think before you speak

not everyone is willing to hire that's the problem... you can say "get a job" but if no one wants to hire you then that's an issue.

@@antoniquegrant7960 I've been unemployed for the past two years, Im 23 and suffer with Bipolar 2 Disorder, It has significantly impacted my ability to get jobs. Unfortunately, my inconsistent employment history, marked by frequent job changes has Raised many red flags with potential employers when submitting a resume. I've struggled to maintain steady employment, often leaving positions after only a month or two due to not keeping up with it mentally. Even when I exclude previous jobs from my resume, it doesn't seem to improve my chances anymore because a 23-year-old, explaining a delayed entry into the workforce only raises further concerns during interviews. I'm just going to wait for the right job. I live with my parents currently and don't have any money.

This is what a leader is supposed to do. You saw an issue (criminal opportunistic squatters, antiquated law) for those who put you in office and you immediately solve the citizens problem. Thank you Florida Gov DeSantis. Squatting criminals should be charged with a FELONY and minimum one year jail time. EVERY other Governor must immediately do the same. Legal Homeowners WHO pay the taxes to run your cities are dying defending their legal property and others are going to jail. Many have had to pay thousands of dollars in legal and repair bills. Every Mayor, Senator, Representative MUST take note and take immediate action to protect the mom and pop homeowner. Follow Florida's LEAD. This is needed in England and Ireland as same issue with the squatting Albanians and Syrians now.
Desantis needs to sign banning HOA scammers from stealing home owners properties or stop special assessments fees and banned HOAs fees period. Instead of harassment homeless people.

Glad to see they approved a law to prevent this, there was this illegal migrant from Venezuela promoting in Spanish that it was ok to proceed to squat empty homes and that all who were arriving here illegally should take advantage.
This helps keep criminal aliens from trying that stunt in Florida.

He's done a LOT more than that, dear. He gave Floridians School Choice, Kept the Jab out of our arms, he's Pro-Life, He's protecting Florida's borders, and Florida's economy overall is good. FANTASTIC Governor!
